This event starts on the week of 26th of September.
You'll probably earn a buff (XP), that 'probably stays' on the character while offline, and needs to be refreshed each week (for 5 weeks). More info when it comes live.

As I understand, this achievement has account-wide progress. So I suppose you can have the Mastery of Timeways buff on different characters each week.

Newly added today, this achievement & mount reward are expected to continue in the last few weeks of every season leading up to the new content (to level alts, new mains, etc.). This achievement is gained by refreshing the 时间流精通 buff every week for five weeks. This is gained by doing timewalking dungeons & raids.

It's very simple. Every week during the Turbulent Timeways event you will have to do 4 timewalking dungeons that each give you a stack of Distilled Knowledge of Timeways that lasts 2 hours.
Once you reach 4 stacks it turns into Mastery of Timeways. Do keep in mind that the Distilled Knowledge of Timeways buff is timed so you will have to do the next dungeon while you still have this buff. A new stack resets the timer.
Do this for all 5 weeks (until November 1st) and bam you have the achievement and the Sandy Shalewing mount

To add what is being told in comments as well, this achievement is account-wide so you don't have to use the same character every week.

So do we have to keep the buff on for 5 weeks or get the buff on 5 separate weeks during the event?

Can one do this 5 times in the first week on 5 unique characters and get the achievement (and mount)?

Hmmm I did the timewalking firelands raid last night turned in the appropriate quests and still dont have the buff not credit towards achievement? Is it bugged?

Somehow when i had done 4 timewalking the weekly quest was also completed. Even tho it says you need to complete 5.
You can also wonder why it isn't 5 you need, because most people will do the last one to get the quest done anyway. But i guess if you just want to level the you will do more than 4-5 anyway when you get the buff :)

You only get credit for the required buff if you complete timewalking dungeons. Not timewalking raids.

If you enter the next week and complete a TW dungeon on a character that still has the Mastery of Timeways buff active from the last week, you will gain credit for another week towards this achievement by just completing that single dungeon.

For those who are simply interested in the mount and don't care about spamming TW dungeons, if you received the "Mastery of Timeways" buff from doing 5 TW dungeons during the first week this achievement was available, you can extend the buff by doing 1 TW dungeon each subsequent week. So if you don't care about a particular toon and have the buff, the bare minimum effort here would be 9 total TW dungeons across the 5 weeks (5 dungeons first week + 1 per week for the next 4 weeks). That would of course entail not letting the buff drop or doing other things, so this is just a "park an alt" strategy.

The XP buff from this is big. Really big. It's a great way to level alts.

The fact that this is an Achievement and not a Feat of Strength hopefully means that this event will repeat again in the future.

Note that it was bugged during the first week early on and you used to get 1 tick for achi progress each time you completed the dungeon with the timewalking buff, so I finished it already at the 3rd week as they fixed it when I had 3, but I didn't start running immediately the first week, so potentially there might be people who finished already last week or even the first week.

I did first 3 on one char, and then switched to another char and got master of timeways buff but the buff didnt count for the achievment on other char. So its not account-wide after all?

You do not need to progress each week on the same character. I did the first four on one character and the last on another character.

The buff still carries over week to week on characters that are logged off, meaning as long as you still have the mastery of timeways buff from a previous week, you can do one dungeon on that character to obtain the current week's achievement progress.

For those of you worried that you missed a week or more and will never obtain the achievement, there was already a previous turbulent timeways event at the end of Season 1 of Dragonflight and now at the end of Season 2 when the achievement was added. Therefore, I would assume that there will be another event at the end of Season 3 and will possibly carry into future expansions where you can finish the achievement. Time will tell for sure.

Great, so I got 4/5 because I didnt realize Blizzard counts weeks as Wednesday-Tuesday, not as usual Monday-Sunday. Wanted to do the last "week" now (31 Oct) but it doesnt count. Well, hope it will come back at some point.

The buff did not refresh upon completing a TW dungeon while I had 18 minutes left on the duration in patch 10.2

Requires Turbulent Timeways - currently inactive event but its highly possible that it might retunrn at the end of Season 3 of Dragonflight.
Sadly completing a timewalking dungeon without active Turbulent Timeways but with 时间流精通 remaining from past weeks when event was active, doesnt work.

literally missed completing this mount by one day >.<
it still is hanging around wowhead and warcraft mounts as something that is "available" but i have not seen any sign of it returning yet. would be kind of wild if this had such a small window and never returned, given Blizz's new view on bringing back discontinued stuff. Hope it comes back soon.

The achievement says I have 4/5 (this was way back when it first came) does that mean I essentially got 0/5 as I have to get 5 in a row? Or am I understanding it wrong?
