For accuracy purposes, this achievement should be accomplished by using a Flight Path rather than your Hearthstone.

Astral Recall does NOT work, sadly. I'm guessing that the hearthstone counts as an item rather than a spell (judging by the bunny-form being able to use hearths but not Recalls).

It was fairly amusing watching my orphan come dashing wildly into the Ledgerdemain Inn after me (I'd hearthed from the street outside)

If you're a pally and want it to be really cruel just pull some mobs and bubble + hearth and the poor orphan will join his parents very quickly.

And again this achievement is bugged. Ive been awarded this twice. Every time i log on, the achievement is no longer completed and i am forced to do it again.

Does this mean we would need to have our addons off until we have the 5/5 Daily Chores also? Or will they just reset back as soon as you turn your addons back on? Would it help to update all addons?

I hearthed twice with my orphan out & it showed me as getting the achievement both times. Haven't logged in to see if it has disappeared though, like everyone else is saying. So there is more than one tiny bug with this achievement.

ok so the achiev bugged for me earlier so i did a few more quests and when my hearth was back up i logged out disabled all addons logged back in got the orphan out and hearth and it gave me achiev again. so after that i logged out again and logged back in, logged out again turned addons back on and logged in , and just to be sure completely exited out of the game and brought it back up. after all this i still have the achievment so hopefully it will stay that way :)

The complicated "Disable all addons" - log in and HS ... Exit game ... Log back in ... Log out ... Re-enable Addons, appears to have (for now) worked. ...

Someone please shoot the person at Blizzard who made this the only way to do the Achieve :(

100% it's not addons and it's simply a bugged achievement. Mainly because mine is bugged as well, and I don't use a single add on.

I just did this again and it is no longer bugged, logged off and back on with all addons enabled, still had the achievement.

This,and NONE of the orphan achievs,work with me.HSed 5 times,ate like 10 cupcakes(testing that achiev) and dont even wanna know how many dailys i did with orphan out wile accepting,doing and turning in

I just hearthed twice, an nothing happened. I had my orphan out when I used hearthstone, and when I was in the inn the orphan was gone and I had no achievement.

FYI: Dont use your The Innkeeper's Daughter. It won't count for the achievement Home Alone. Only use your Heartstone Happy hunting!

Yes but no!

I have innkeeper's daughter and can't take a hearthstone from any innkeeper. I just don't get the line for the new one. And I'll never destroy my innkeeper's daughter because of a bugged achievement!

I figured it out after having the same Innkeeper's daughter problem. If you put it in your bank, and then go to an innkeeper and set that inn as your home, you will automatically get a new hearthstone.

Just like last year, you can't use 旅店老板的女儿 to get this achievement. You have to have an actual 炉石, and use it with your orphan out.

You don't have to put your Innkeeper's Daughter in your bank or get rid of it at all. I kept mine right in my bags where it always is. Most innkeepers also won't ask you if you need a new hearthstone. Simply go to the innkeeper that your hearth is already set to, and click to make it your home again. Upon making it your home, you will recieve a new hearthstone.

Then just whistle for your orphan, use your hearthstone, then toss it back out again! =P

Just to clear things up, you have to use your 炉石, nothing else will work and you'll have just wasted a cooldown if you've used something else that functions as a hearthstone but isn't actually a hearthstone. So take my advice and USE A 炉石! DON'T HAVE A 炉石? GET ONE! IT'S THE ONLY THING THAT WILL WORK!

No item nor spell that is not Hearthstone works. ~~And while 要塞炉石 is a Hearthstone, it's not The Hearthstone, and can'tbe used to complete this achievement.~~
EDIT. 要塞炉石 did not work on first day of the event, but currently it does work.

Hotfixed 2015-04-28 to allow the use of alternate Hearthstones such as 旅店老板的女儿 and 要塞炉石 finally. Unsure if 虚灵之门 and 黑暗之门 can be used, however.

Edit: Although 达拉然炉石 didn't seem to get updated to work yet.

Because the comments are contradicting each other a bit, the update for 7.3.5 is that 旅店老板的女儿 does indeed work!

I wanted to be good while doing this. So when I was done with all the quests, I left my orphan at the orphanage, gave him a hug and then hearthed home.

Didn't work with 无头骑士的炉石 so I assume it won't work with the other holiday event hearthstones as well.

永恒旅者的炉石 does not work to get the achievement just use the basic hearthstone

Doesn't work with Night Fae Hearthstone, and presumably wouldn't work with any of the other covenant-specific hearthstone toys either.

Hearthstone toys from the Shadowlands don't seem to work either. I used my 被统御的炉石 and didn't get the achievement.

As others have already mentioned, use a regular 炉石 instead.

Surprised that nobody has mentioned it but Dalaran Hearthstone seems to work for the achievement now!
