First you need to get the Ransom note for the stolen copy of Draconic for Dummies, it is in a pile of dirt on the island. It is on the furthest of the two islands in the middle of the island.

Getting to the island is a chore as you have to cross fatigue waters, it can be done with some swim speed potions if you are a healer or there is a quest that will give you a swim speed buff.

The NPC for this quest is in the water south of the crashed Gyrocopter, it is a female Naga and she is on the sea floor. Take her love letter back to Narian and she will grant you the swim speed when you return. As soon as you have the buff get moving!

It's a long swim to the islands, I died 3 times, and got there on the 4th. Thank god for wisp.

what you want to do is go down to the beach. when you find the plane/copter thing, start heading south, when you enter the water and start swimming look down and you will see Meridith the Mermaidian who will give you a quest. she is not very far from the beach so keep an eye out. once you return the love letter to the gnome by steamwheedle go back to her and she will give you the buff that will allow you to get to the island.

is there anyway to get back form island once the buff wears off...becuase i dont want to have to take rez sickness with 3 bags of epic resist and tanking gear

you have to kill this guy to get the book, and he wtf pwned 120 lvl 60 full BWL specced in about 4 minutes , you have to get 10-15 tanks on him and then just let the rest of the server dps the crap outa him in the quickest time possible - was soo funny watching the majority of the server get pwned!

When you walk from the Gyrocopter to the island which can be seen on the horizon you'll find a Meermaid who wants you to give a Love Letter to Narain. When you have finished this task, she gives you a 3-Minute-Buff which increases Swimspeed by a VERY large amount. With this Buff you can easily reach the island. Go to the next island behind the first and you'll find the next quest-step.

The island is on the worldmap: ~30,88

For Classic WoW-- I was barely able to get to the island as a druid with 1x swim speed pot and aquatic form. I looked for the shortest distance to the island from non-fatigue waters, used swim speed pot as soon as fatigue started. Had to use all my hots, NS, swiftmend, healing pot to survive the fatigue. Was I worried? Yes. Was it worth it? Sorta?

Shaman water walking is NOT enough by itself to get you through the fatigue zone - I just tested this. It is close, but not enough. My shaman has the +run speed enchant on boots.

Any damage (including fatigue) cancels the water walking buff. So as soon as the fatigue bar wears out and you begin to lose HP, you will lose the buff (and the speed buff it confers).

While swimming the short remaining fatigue water distance I used a max rank NS heal and also a major healing potion. I still died.

A swiftness potion might just be enough to get you through without dying... but I'm not 100% sure. Also remember if you are planning to use a health pot that it has a shared cd with swiftness pot. The Zandalar buff (from turning in the Heart of Hakkar), or the swiftness Zanza, would almost certainly get you through.

However, when you ankh, your fatigue bar is completely refilled. So as long as you do not mind dying once on the swim, shamans can skip the Meridith swim speed optional quest. People who have a shaman to assist them by providing the water walking buff can also skip it - the shaman should be able to res you after refilling their own fatigue bar.

I would suggest that you Hearth or portal out (if you have a mage with you) after collecting the ransom note.

Getting to that isle is tricky as it is just beyond normal fatigue range, which makes also recovery after death complicated.

So I decided to be creative, decided to get some Swim Speed Potion and then soulstone from warlock, idea was to use swimspeed potion as soon as I hit the fatigue border, then swim untill fatigue strikes... after death waited till another swimspeed potion was off cooldown ressurrected using soulstone and used another swimspeed potion right away and I got to isle easily.

The trick with distance is that it is just beyond the fatigue line, so when returning as a ghost, you still get that fatigue and it bar goes 0 you die again so it means that you gotta be creative getting there.

I hope that this helps if anyone else has issues with this quest...

To get to the isle very easily and not in fatigue waters: Take the boat, it is neutral, when you get in between the two islands, jump off the boat and swim south to the island? Been doing this for several trips to Dread Island. Run along the east coastline and around the location of the small island in the water is the path to your right, to go up the mountain area. There you will find all that you should require while on this island including the Level 62 boss. Else, Happy swimming!

This can be reached with Water Treads. I used all 3 mount speed boosts (gloves, Spurs and Carrot) but I had so much extra time id be surprised if you cant do it without. Start at 57.6, 93.9 and aim a little more south than SE, basically right at the center of the island and run straight. Didnt even take Fatigue but IIRC you dont loose this water walking when you take damage so you should still make it before you die. You can use the light spots on your mini map to determine where fatigue is so if you look like youre gonna hit dark or miss the light when you get there adjust course to match.

Find Narain Soothfancy's book, buried on an island in the South Seas.

Description

I knew that book would come in handy some day! Thankfully, I had the wit and foresight to stow it somewhere safe.

Don't worry, it's in a place that nobody could ever hope to find it! I needed a gyrocopter just to get there the first time. Unfortunately I crashed it on the beach on my way back. It was through that accident that I gained these super-gnomish psychic powers!

Look for my crashed gyrocopter somewhere on Land's End Beach and swim south from there! You'll know the spot when you see it!
