To get to Haleh, you need to travel through the dragonkin cave (Mazthoril). At the end of the cave is a blue pentagram. Stand on the pentagram and you'll get transported to Haleh.

If you can stealth, do so. /tloc 58,50 is the entrance. Most everything is static but there's a few that path. This takes less time than trying to use the (wonderful) pic guide above.

The mobs scale from 55-60 gold elites. The last big room has the port and two 60 pathing gold's.

If you can't stealth it follow the pic's above. It is still working 8/17/05.

There's thorium veins inside but I only saw 3. One is rich thorium and there's a 58 gold static next to it with lots of space. I was able to snag it without adds.

I'll have to bring some friends back and see what the big boys drop.

Of course the bear isn't there. The dwarf is a hunter. He placed his bear pet there to illustrate where to walk towards.

Really, have you seen a random bear, or any other non-quest mob stand still in one spot anywhere? Ever? In your close to 60 levels of hunting? And still you expected to find a bear hanging around there?

I tried to follow the 'visual guide' but like a fool ignored the walking thing. I tried for the longest time to use my mount to jump up the ledge at the end (where the bear is pictured). There were 2 other ppl there doing the same thing, unsuccessfully. Then I tried running over in the same line the picture shows and that doesn't work at all...

But walking works like a charm. Toggle run off and you can walk right up to the ledge starting from the corner that is suggested. For some reason walking gives you greater stability on the steepest part and you don't slide down like you do running or on a mount. I didn't have to toggle auto walk (numlock), I just used the UP arrow to walk in a straight line (the key being that you cannot turn even slightly).

I wouldn't be surprised if they nerf this since its obviously not intended for you to be able to walk up to this guy. But as of now it still works.

I had a hard time finding out where to start to get up there, I might have missed a very important post?

Anyway, I started up by doing the following:

Go to cords: 55,50
Move along to cords: 55,53
From here you should be able to bypass the big tree, and move along to 53,52(ish).

Hope this helps a bit for others who had same problem as me :)

If you are having troubles finding the portal....turn on your video setting on high. After that, you should be able to see the portal.

Ok, I went to the coordinates of 53,51 and stood underneath the root. I mounted up and rode towards the target jumping to the far left at the very last minute and made it. I hope this helps since I spent an hour trying to find the exact place to jump. I tried it a second time and it worked again.

Since they stopped you being able to walk accross (I'm guessing since the poly's stick out a bit now so you fall down every time you try to walk accross) and I noticed the video isn't linked anymore so here's what you do:

Once you get to the location, using your mount you ride arround the left side of the slope so your under the big branch. Go south a little and run up, turning right you should jump in towards the middle of the slope but aim to the right a bit. You should land on a small dip in the wall up the top, unreachable by any way other than jumping.

From here, you should move back a little, as much as you can without falling, I fell a few times but I finally corrected myself. Now you should be able to make a big jump by only moving forwards a small amount, experiment before hand with how long you need to hold down the movement key before pressing space.

If your facing the direction you want to go you should aim right a little to avoid the few polygons sticking out of the slope's face. If you try and try again I assure you it's posible - and remember not to step on the teleportation rune.

Tried the shorcut tonight. Worked perfectly. Needed about 10 tries to get the angle right, but it was much faster that stripping naked and running through the cave after dying 3-6 times. Back your butt up to the tree and land it in the area that has a smudgy graphic. Then rotate about 20 degrees to the right and launch again. Bingo.

i found a way easier way, do what the pictures at the top says, except dont do the auto walk stuff, there is a little valley where there is an ice river, and water fall, go to the opposite end of the fall, and jump over the un walkable spot where u can see haleh... if this doesnt make sense im sorry, hard to explain... but if u figure it out its really easy

I did this jump and it worked fine. Had non-epic mount, no carrot stick. I would suggest using the video (which is great) and pausing it right before the jump. Align yourself just like the video (hint, look at the shadows) and jump at the last possible second. People also have a habit of holding the arrow key (or w if you use that) when jumping; the problem is when you land you are trying to move. That knocks you off the very very small platform.

Jump and let go of the buttons, then turn around, align yourself correctly and jump again. Once you do it the first time, it is easy to do it again. (just like in the video).

If you are annoyed by multiple attempts (took me about 10-15 attempts the first time around) just get a group and do it the way it was intended (or at least one of the ways it was intended) to get there.

Just did this as a 60 rogue with my 60 druid wife, stealthed all the way to the back of the cave without a problem. So just a note for rogues and druids: Don't worry about the short cut mentioned above, you can stealth all the way through the cave. :)

Winterspring Haleh...how we love her remoteness...

53,52 is the place where you try and jump as high as possible to get to the bent tree. When you get there and do the jump, only jump once and stop there - dont do a running jump the 2nd time round otherwise you wont make it :)

Haleh is at 54,41 - useful to know :)

Cave Entrance is at 57,51 if you wanna die a few times / stealth.

after an hour of this walking using the / business, i decided to do it my own way :P

get to 54,53 and hop on your mount. (the best way is to goto the cave, and go up the elft side etc... etc.. probably other "easier" ways too.

now, if you look around, you will notice this is the area with the pictures above, telling you to walk her, go there, dont press directional keys, etc...

DO THIS INSTEAD!
-goto 54,53.
-you will see this valley everyone tlaks about above. on the left side (approx west) side wall of the valley you will see it with a rocky texture (oppose to snow). come down the valley where the snow turns to teh rock and you should be able to climb up the side, with or without a mount, easily. (might have to jump a bit, no big deal)
-climb/walk/run up to the large root that is ticking up in the air. Notice if you stand by the left part of the root, and look too the right, you should see the head of the npc, and the golden question mark :) )
-Now hop onto your mount (this doesnt require an epic mount, any trinks, mithril spurs or enchants).
-now, look at the right side of the valley, near the very top. you will again see where the rock and snow textures change. this is where you are going to try and land :P. just remeber WHEN YOU LAND LET GO OF ALL DIRECTIONAL AND MOVEMENT BUTTONS! if you fall short, no worries, you can try to carefully, while even still on the mount if you are good, jump to where i was tlakign aobut, or maybe even jump to the next part. this will probably take you a half dozen tries or more.
- now if you landed half assed properly, try to jump on a more horizontally friendly spot to stand on, duh.
-grats, now walk to the npc and dont step on the blue thing :P

guys,u don't need to go around all sorts of places to get there, just go into the cave at 56, 50 and run through the cave to the blue spot, at level 70 i did not aggro a single thing so was a smooth run, just go around the dragons, its not hard, then go to the blue mark and stand on it a few seconds and it will teleport u str8 to the chick u need. easy

To do this quest, now saying most of u have BC, and are higher then 60, and never got round to doing Ony, just go through the cave, i did, no agro, and im glad i did go through cave, not only was it faster, i got a nice blue recipe for tailoring....which i vendored lol, hope this helps!

I couldn't find the terrain path to the top though I tried for 30 minutes from all sides. I decided on the corpse run thing. Took me 3 tries to get to the blue spot.

Pity my raid group killed Drakk yesterday doh!

Just made the jump without going through the cave (15May06). I tried the autowalk technique but I couldn't make it work. Instead I watched the video posted above and another I found on the web of making the jump to her on your mount.

It works. Just completed on my L40 mount, no buffs or adds. It took a few tries and I had the watch the video quite a few time. It's 2 jumps. After the first jump you are on a small invisible ledge. You need to back up a couple of feet so that your mount can make the second jump. As soon as I did that the jump worked first time.

The coordinates are accurate. There are 54 and 55 dragonkkin and wymerins and some larger 56 wymerins in the cave. The dragonkins come in groups of 3 or 4 the wymerins are usually solo or patrols. Three of us elected to try the cave lvl 60 warror and mage and a lvl 56 hunter. Individual pulls on the wymerins were possible. The dragonkins we took out by pulling them together and AOEing them under. Note some dragonkins will hang back and throw frost bolts so in some cases we had to tackle them as a spread group. Without a healer this was dicy but I (the mage) only died once in this section and the warrior and hunter survived. About 3/4s of the way through the cave you see the 58 elite dragon. We tried him and got flattened. He stunned and ice trapped us separately, we might have taken him down to 40% health before he killed us. Without a healer we were toast. when we came back to rez the wymerins and dragonkin had respawned. (NOTE: the respwan rate in the cave is pretty high we had to rekill things approaching from behind us several times). As we prepared to rez and fight a respwaned but isolated wymerin two level 60 warriors showed up trying the corpse run technique (getting flattened btw). We rezed and killed the isolated wymerin despite being at half health and strength. When the 2 warriors rezed we joined forces and took the level 58 elite easily. Once you kill the level 58 elite you need to pull a group of dragonkin and kill them. Now you are at the level 60 elite that patrols over the portal. There is a group of dragonkin just beyond the portal too. wait till the lvl 60 flys up turns and flys away. Pull and kill the dragonkin. Now you can run up and use the portal.

Here is detail you may find useful. There is a delay in the portal and only one person can use it at a time So if you all run up and jump on the portal one (or more) of you will still be standing there when the lvl 60 flies up. There is room to stand with your back flat against the far cave wall and not aggro the lvl 60 so time the portal use and jump on it one at a time.

Why fight your way through? Well we had three VERY VERY nice blue drops all BOE and there were 2 rich thorium veins both of which also dropped crystals. One of the blues was going for 100 gold on the AH though the winner elected to equip it. A well balanced group of 5 should roll through this cave in 30 minutes or less.

I managed to get to the portal (warrior NE), with some invis potions, can get to the last chamber using poitions and shadowmeld when patrols come. For the final bit where the big dragon is flying around I just ran to the portal and died on it. Then was able to time my res ontop of it so I could use the portal without agroing.

Will use this tactic again when I go back for this part of the quest after I do the Stormwind bit.

*note npc's outside the cave and near the entrance will give up chasing you if you run far enough inside.

The medthod from the video is probably the easiest and quickest way to get the next stage of the chain. As of November 10th, 2006 it still works, so Blizzard hasn't blocked it yet... if they ever will.

If you don't want to die a lot, try what the video shows.

The easiest thing to do is to take off all of your gear and run through the cave until you get to the main chamber. In the chamber you will see a light blue runic symbol on the floor (along with many baby dragons and a dragon flying over it) if you time it right you can run onto the symbol without getting to much aggro and you'll be transported right next to Heleh or whatever her name is. Then, you go though UBRS and kill Drakk (which you've all probably done a thousand and one times by now) and THEN run all the way through the caves of dragon death again to give her Drakk's blood. Then you get a necklace...which is sort of good. This really is the easiest way, but you will probably die a lot (which is why it's good to take off your clothes) but if you have patiences you'll make it to the rune in the end. It's a lot less frustrating then trying to climb up a hill that you shouldn't be able to climb.

As of 12/3/06, going up the hill and jumping up to the log, walking across and going down to the girl still works. It's a bit complicated to figure out, but you can do it. I did it with and without a mount. I'm a level 57 Night Elf Hunter with the Nightsaber. I had no problems, the level 60 in front of me on his horse had no problems... I'm not sure about gnomes, you might not be able to make it. But I did make it up on foot and by mount, pretty simple.

NPC is at tloc 54,51. It's possible to ride directly up the hill to her without entering the cave or fighting any of the dragonkin. As you face the cave, ride up the left side of the hill and maneuver up and around behind the big tree at 54,52; if you stop there and look north, you can just make her out standing on the side of the hill. From there, you can squirrel your way up and around over to her with some difficulty.

I gave the cliff walking a fair shake and couldn't quite latch onto enough wall to make it up the last bit of wall and over to Haleh. Pretty annoying since I could see the question mark from where I was!

After I'd tried a number of times I thought I'd take a rest and go the regular way, since I'm pretty good at hugging walls and waiting for an opening.

The first time in I killed maybe three mobs and certainly not because they were attacking me, but more as insurance that the way would be clear. Got all the way to the back of the cave, snuck around to back wall where I could clearly see the portal rune and waited for the dragon to turn. Ran over and jumped onto it and got to Haleh.

Unfortunately -- ooops! In getting ready to do a big instance I'd really stripped my bags of everything from earlier and well - quest item -- in bank. I laughed pretty hard. Used slow fall to get down and rode into Everlook, retrieved fragment and went back.

This time I wouldn't have killed anything except a rogue and pulled two and so I got one away from him, just to be nice. So the rogue and the mage, each using their own skill set (or in my case, just some caution and patience) - get the job done.

WTF? I just spent about 10 tries trying to jump onto the ledge, finally got there, then I've moved the camera around to see where this cave was that you were supposed to come and I spawned in the cave next to a giant dragon....

This was so easy! Completed 10/24/2006 with my 60 NE Hunter by climbing the mountain. Any Dragonkin aggroed faded away by the time I got to the point to climb. Hopped off my mount and Super Mario'd up to the log, walk accross and down to Haleh, bam easy with 0% damage.

Funny thing was I had my back to the NPC and a 60 Shammy that went through the cave appeared, tried to gank me. He had a nice ghost walk back to the top of the mountain.

I was able to do the terrain hack to gain access to the lady standing on the ledge. Someone mentioned Carrot on a Stick, that seemed to do it for me. I will say that I was able to do it... once. I fell off assisting another group member in doing this and was not able to get back up again.

So, we fell back on working our way through the cave. This was with a 60 Pallie and a 60 Hunter. We were able to work our way through the cave, with only one nail biting moment when we got attacked by 6 of the broodlings. Once you enter the "large" part of the cave, stay on the left wall. There is a small "hill bump" in the middle of the cave and and the blue mark is on the leftish side of this hill. Time the paths of the remaining drakes and the named dragons and you can make it onto the blue pads easily.

Ok so I completed jailbreak and the masquarade...but after watching the carnage in Stormwind Keep....I recieved NO quest from Bolivar...is it a bug? Do I have to do it again?

Everyone tells me to go see Haleh but I never got the quest to see her again.

A little update as of December 31st, 2006. I was indeed able to reach Haleh as per the video link. First what this video doesn't show is where is the starting point to do the run up the hill. You will see a road branching off the main north-south road in Winterspring that leads to the cave. Take this road in a ways and then run a little south of the cave toward the ridge and work your way up to the starting video point watching out for any of the dragonkin. Took a few tries but it does work.

Secondly, be very careful NOT to land on the cobalt blue rune ring on the ground next to Haleh otherwise you ported down into the dragon cave. If this happens immediately gather your wits and get back on the circle. If you don't get ported by just standing, try jumping. ( I know, this happened to me)

Also the original Haleh is now a Blood Elf model using the new updated graphics from Burning Crusade. I submitted a jpeg.

Lastly, as one or another post has stated its a SHE not a he. In truth she is a dragon of the blue flight in disguise but the lore usually says the dragons do tend to retain their gender whatever they chose.

If you come from the north or along the road there are MANY mobs to kill you. Also at least on my screen I was unable to duplicate the gray/white shading to line up for the jump point. I had to jump "higher" on the wall than the video showed. Once in the right place however the second jump looked exactly the same. It took 6 triesslow fall was unhelpful

It took me a while at the last jump right before Helen, other than that everything is good and it still works. I watched the video and did exactly what he did, thank you for showing us the shortcut in video. I did it with a level 40 mount.

Terrain axploit works without any problems. I guided 3 people already to that spot and went today too. the trick is to find the correct starting point and direction. then press Num Lock for auto walk and it will go on its own. it does NOT work if you use directional keys

I guess this is for Onyxia the dragon raid that takes like 20+ people to beat. It has been said by Blizzard that u need some of these quest uniques in order to defeat the next Raid boss. I guess that would be Ragnaros the fire elemental (who is badass looking btw).

Totally stealthable for a 59 druid with no points in stealth. Just watch out for the 60 elite dragon that hovers right around the blue teleport thingy.

I had trouble with the terrain exploit, but I'm lazy and didn't try very hard.

You can also climb the mountain to get to Haleh instead of heading through the cave (& taking blue portal spot). Just head up to the left of the entrance, around to the back. If you make it high enough on the mountain, you will see the gold quest dot on your map. Negotiate the terrain to get to that ridge.

Sorry I can't provide a better description, but it is possible.

U can still jump even after 2.x patch. The safest road goes directly from Everlook and above the entrance to the cave. Then u just turn right and up the mountain. The way with the rock was not possible for me, however I managed to jump over the grayed part of the mountain. Used normal mount, carrot and mithril spurs. Took less then 10 tries. I even overshot a bit and had some problems with getting out from the hole on the right after jump, but u can get out of that pretty esily if u move closer to the drop. Then just go up and to the NPC. Easy. Didn't even aggro any mobs!

Guys, just go thru the cave with all the elites (druid, rogue, hunter...) and at the end there will be big area, blue symbol should be on the ground in the middle somewhere, stand in in for few moments and you will get tped.
There should be a picture now, if it gets approved.

The only requirement is being able to run faster then usual (any mount, run speed ability, druid's forms, etc)

Go to 59 54 - shouldn't be hard to get there
Go to 57 55 - 9 hours direction, hugging wall to your left. You will probably aggro a pack of 3 non-elite dragonkins.
Go to 54 53 - just walk, approximately 10 hours direction. You'll see a root in the air in front of you.
Go to 53.7 52.0 - just climb towards the root.
There, you will see stone texture visible through snow at 2 hours direction.
Mount (or use run speed ability if you don't have a mount), run, jump towards that stone texture.
You can do it in many ways, no need to be too precise.
You will in fact land somewhat below stone texture. If you landed much below, on 2 black lines, that's bad, repeat.
Jump again to 4 hours direction.
From there, you should be able to see NPC and just walk to him.

Note: there's a blue rune near NPC that teleports you into cave with enemies. If you step on it by accident, just step on another rune to return.

For priests who don't like/don't feel like show jumping:
Follow the video entry above, but don't turn right to do the mount jump. Look up and left. There's another giant root/log further up the hill to the left of the root/log in the video. Just ride up there, shimmy up on top of the root and then run off it popping levitate. Carries you straight across to Haleh's level.

That giant drake that patrols the pentagram that teleports must have way increased stealth detection, saw me miles away. Still easy to do though, but the surprise.

If you take a path south of her position you should be able to find her. There is one jump that requires speed, but a level 40 mount will suffice.

If you watched Packuhs video and you have a female character I suggest you go buy some Noggenfogger Elixir and try it again if you cant make the other jump.

I struggled a lot doing the alternative method of jumping up the branch, so I figured I'd give the branch a second chance, after 5 minutes of failing I used Noggenfogger Elixir and after some tries I was able to jump up the branch and turn in the quest!

Not that bad to rez hop. It's really hard to see the "pentagram" when you are dead though as the brightness of being a ghost washes out its light blue color. One hint you will get is if your ghost is standing on it, you will get the "You are dead." message indicating you are trying to "use an item" while dead. Just wait til the big dragon moves away and rez right on top of the blue thing and you will be transported with about a 1 second delay.

you can actually see the ledge you want to jump to with your mount. i personally have a carrot and spurs, but i think it should be fine without.

All the comments here are BS. Go to exactly /way 54, 53. Face due north and mount up. Any 40+ mount will do. Spurs and carrot not requried. Jump up to the right until you you get a foothold. Quest giver is at the top of hill. That's all. Super easy, no cave exploring required.

If you have noggenfogger on you drink till you get the feather fall buff, it makes leaping the gap by the big root much easier. This is if you have decided to ride up the mountainside to find the npc rather than going through the cave ofc.

After reading trough the comments here and trying to follow the steps given the best advice I can give to anyone trying to reach Haleh is just go to the video tab on the page and watch the second video (posted 2019/09/30) it gives you clear steps to where you are supposed to be and how to travel between the different points. Took a couple of jumps but it worked out.

Out of curiosity, I visited Itharius, Vaelan, Chromie, and Velarok Windblade while on this quest (all dragons in humanoid form), and none of them had any special dialogue or hints.

just go to this place and jump on the log as i show in the screenshot i submited... and use Noggenfogger Elixir to get the slow fall buff and aim carefully... right before you're going to pass by her, remove the buff and land next to her...

You must search the world for a being capable of restoring the power to the Fragment of the Dragon's Eye. The only information you possess about such a being is that they exist.

Description

A fragment of the shattered medallion is all that I can offer.

You must find another of dragon blood willing to assist you in forging a new key. Once you secure this key, you must travel to the Wyrmbog in Dustwallow Marsh. It is there that you will find her lair, <name>.

Where to find other flights willing to help? Sadly, I do not know... They are said to exist. Some may even work and live among us, disguised as one of the humanoid races. I wish you luck.
