The Sealed Reliquary of Purity can also be looted without the quest, if you wish to save room in your Quest Log.

You can pick up the Felvine shard off of the ground without having the quest logged :)

Its a nice reward for casters, and good xp for everyone

Picked up the Felvine shard without knowing what it was for. Pretty cool that the prequest is easy, it's really like doing one quest and get a double reward. ^^

This is a terrible attempt at a walkthru by me. I'm doing it because I couldn't find any information about the quest anywhere. So please forgive the massive inaccuracies.

1. Enter Dire Maul from the Feralas road, go up the ramp, past the patrolling dogs. Kill the ogres along the way to the T-junction. Turn left then Right thru the small doorway which takes you to a large open area columned area.

2. Head thru the large area, again killing dog patrols and ogres heading right to the Eastern Instance and enter.

3. Once inside it's easy to avoid the patrol from the right by hugging the wall the left. Follow it around a short way to where the floor drops to the area below. Take care when jumping down - about 1500 health loss and the possibility of a plant guard down there. Time it for when he's not there then fight him when he gets back.

4. The door you need to go thru is just ahead but it won't open till you talk to the big tree-man in the middle of the room. You can't talk to him until you've killed a satyr. Hugging the wall will avoid having to fight. Follow the wall anti-clockwise to a pink stone doorway with a stealthed patrolling satyr.

5. Go thru the doorway, again hugging the right wall past satyrs and plants you won't have to fight, to a large swimming pool containing a Hydrosphere - water elemental. This guy is very tough so get ready.

6. When he is dead go across the pool and you will see a pink passageway on each of the oposite walls, one leading up and the other leading down. You need the one leading up. Kill the plant in the way and go up to where you'll find a named satyr next to a pulpit and an altar. You have to kill this satyr to be able to talk to the big tree you passed earlier.

7. Kill him and retrace your steps back to the large sunken room you jumped in to when you came into the instance. Only one party member has to talk to the tree and aggro can be avoided by actually standing inside him whist you talk. He will walk down the path and smash the door down for you to continue.

8. At the end of the corridor you come to a large circular room with large patrolling trees and a spiral pathway leading down. You can avoid fights if you jump onto the handrail of the pathway (slab of rock nearby to jump up from).

9. The bottom opens into a circular area with many other satyr and your goal - Alzzin. Clear the room, kill him and get ready for the 20 or so little imps that spawn when he dies. When they're all dead pick up the Felvine shard from where his hut is - there are 5 on the floor. Use the red box on it and head off to Moonglade to turn the quest in.

You can loot the shard without having the quest. It's no biggie.

how do i get the prereq for this? im lvl 58 and the npc i talked to doesnt have any quests for me, i know im talking to the right one, i went to silithus to see if i could open the chest aswell but i couldnt

Is it possible to pick up the Felvine shard without fighting the boss?

Currently can't be completed in Phase 1 of WoW Classic because Dire Maul is not yet open. Hold onto it for now and bank the reliquary of purity until needed later.

You can pick up the Felvine shard at the last boss in Dire maul east before picking up this quest.

This quest can be completed as horde in classic. Just finished it myself.

Can hunter solo this by using FD to get to the last boss and then to loot the item while the pet is keeping aggro and getting whacked?

Shards of the Felvine

Find the Felvine in Dire Maul and acquire a shard from it. Chances are you'll only be able to procure one with the demise of Alzzin the Wildshaper. Use the Reliquary of Purity to securely seal the shard inside, and return it to Rabine Saturna in Nighthaven, Moonglade.

Description

Your knowledge of Eldre'Thalas - Dire Maul - in Feralas will now come into play, <name>. In the eastern part of the ruined city is where Alzzin the Wildshaper has exerted his corrupt dominion. Go there with all due haste and brave whatever challenges await you.

The Fruit of Fertility, now corrupted as the Felvine, should be close to Alzzin. When he falls, capture whatever essence of the Felvine you can. Seal it in the Reliquary, and bring it to me.
