So basically Path of Exile LOL
Looks like a very intriguing system. If it goes over well, I'm curious how they'll re-skin it to be thematic to the next expansion.
So, there's no way this goes into next expansion right? We know how BFA ends, so how would this system make any sense at all going into the next, unless this entire datamining PTR was BS.
This seems exactly like titanforging but worse because it comes with negative debuffs.
It look worse than current day titanforging, It's not gone at all. It's just back in spoopy corruption form.
Removed
Just to note, Maximum corruption atm is 225 with the last debuff at a wholesome 175%...a thing you don't want to bring to raids tbh
Or why not just remove titanforging altogether? Ugh.
Not a fan. Just making an already overly complicated system more complex.I guess if I want to raid I will have to continue to pay for websites that calculate whether gear is an upgrade for me still.
the idea of getting an upgrade with a negative debuff is very unappealing to me. Guess it might be cool for some players but I can't see it not sucking.
I don't really get how this is any better. The only positive is that higher difficulties will always drop the best base form of gear no matter what. The bad thing is you can still get some random item from an emissary that rolls crit damage and it's better than raid items (titanforging in a new skin). If these were all utility bonuses I'd be on board 100%. But at first glance this does not impress me in the slightest. Just seems like more frustration. It's early stages, I get it. Let's see how it develops. All I'm saying is the game worked fine for 10 years without titanforging.
Its a neat idea but if it causes your character to look different I'm just gonna cleanse all my gear.
I foresee a problem with this system. with the secondary effects, I guarantee this is going to create a system of constantly looking for the BiS secondary effect, regardless of item level, just like the Benthics, at least it won't be on tokens.
So basically it's titanforging crossed with benthic, with negative side effects to make both even more obnoxious than they already are?Wooooo. I knew I shouldn't have gotten excited.
This looks fun. Kiss/Curse mechanics are really nice, and Im happy to see some of the RPG mechanics making a return.
Adding some new problems to solve existing problems never goes well. I give them some credit for trying though. I guess the idea is that you can only reasonably use so many titanforged/corrupted pieces so that it's no longer worth trying to get all titanforged/corrupted gear. I guess that works....? The way Blizzard goes about implementing these kinds of tedious systems is so very perplexing. I do kind of like the idea from a role playing perspective. Powerful items with curses on them is kind of neat in theory.
I never minded WF/TF. If people feel compelled to do stuff they don't enjoy because of 'omg it can titanforge' then I feel like that's on them. Why not just stick to playing the game like before, doing the highest level of content you're able to and just sticking with what you get from that?
