You'll need to pickpocket a Venture Co. Operator in the middle of Windshear Crag to get a manifest so Veenix can give you explosives to get into SFK courtyard.

Once inside SFK proper two new rare elites will have spawned.
Gemela is just inside the dining room where Baron Silverlaine is located. Pick pocket her to get the Sister's Half-Key.
Gefell is further on past Baron Silverlaine and then to the right (instead of turning left as you normally would to continue clearing the dungeon). Pick pocket him for the Brother's Half-Key.

Once you have both half-keys head back to the Stables in the Courtyard and find the waiting chest. Combine your keys to create the Twin Key and open it up. Horn obtained!

Note: Once you've gone back to the small house outside and handed in the quest you will get a letter in the mail approximately 15 minutes later telling you to go *back* to that same house and claim your reward. EDIT: Looks like the mail to go get your reward only triggers upon entering a capital city.

Use Distract to your advantage. Probably recommend being at least 22 for Vanish just in case, but it's not too bad if you take it slow.

I did this at level 22 with 5/5 Master of Deception. I did not need to use Distract or Vanish at all, even while playing very carelessly. I walked very close to the enemies and I don't recall any of them even turning in my direction. If you are level 22+ and thinking about respeccing for Master of Deception, my advice is don't. It's not necessary. If you are under level 22, you might consider it since you don't have Distract or Vanish yet.

You have to be level 22 to receive the letter in the mail about the new dead drop after you finish turning in the horn. It seems to still take about 15 mins after leveling up for it to reach your mailbox.

Make sure not to be in a group - even if you go in alone, the rares don't spawn and you have to go all the way back to Stonetalon for the explosive again. Great design!

After waiting for roughly 3 hours (logged out for half of that time), I had no mail. I ran back to the hut, wondering if I could open the dead drop, I could not. I hearthed to Stormwind, and the mails (3?) immediately showed up.

so i hit lvl 20 and i got the letter "c " in the mail. i went to pick up the quest in Pyrewood Village call " the horn of xelthos" i mistakenly destoryed the lettter from C but i have the quest but the quest isnt showing on my questie but its in my quest log and its orange, idk if i messed up by destorying the letter or what, or if i should just try to do the quest

You can do this at level 20 without going to stonetalon.

- After you ding 20, enter to the hut next to the road leading up to SFK, use the chest inside

- It's recommended to respec for the stealth talents which make it way easier

- Go inside SFK, sneak to the first boss, pull the lever, use evasion, talk to the NPC and sprint back up, try to evade by jumping on the broken table next to the door and then jumping into the corner against the horizontal wooden frame

- If you failed the evade, just release and run back, no need to wait for the NPC to open the door

- Stealth to the butcher room. Note the low wall to the left, you can jump onto it should you need to evade

- Go into the next room and pickpocket Gemela, proceed to the top of the stairs, go right and pickpocket Gefell

- Go back down and into the stables, you'll see a chest, combine the keys and open it (make sure that you're far enough not to draw aggro, these actions remove stealth)

- Go back out, turn in the quest with the chest, go back to any city to get the mail (IF is closest) - you can hearth or simply die and res at southshore

- Go back all the way to SFK (yup...) and open the chest for your rune - again you can hearth/die

I just did this as a lvl 23 without any of the improved stealth talents. No probs. All you need is Distraer.

Of what I understand, the Breaching Charge is used on the door upstairs and NOT the large gate at the start, as stated.
I didn't know this at the time and did it the old fasioned way: Spoke to the locked up NPC and then used Esfumar.

Getting the explosive from Veenix is optional. You can stealth to the cell of Mortacechador Adamant and open it. Pulling the lever will break your stealth and you will die but upon re-entering the cell will remain open. You can then ask Mortacechador Adamant to open the courtyard. He will NOT get killed by the hostile NPCs contrary to what could be expected.

This might be patched as it kinda breaks the intended way of the quest and it would more logical that Mortacechador Adamant get aggroed by the mobs on its way.

For anyone not paying enough attention, You CAN skip the stonetalon part of this. Only have to go to silverpine/SFK once! Read the rest of the comments below

I was able to do this quest at level 21 without any points in MoD. You might consider that talent if you're level 20, but it's not required at 21.

Completed the quest turned in the horn at deaddrop over 1 hour ago still no mail, is this normal or did i get a bug somehow?

Yeah just saying don't listen to the replies in these comments saying its easy peasy. It's not. If you in fact manage to sneak all the way through to the elites you're definitely not a noob rogue player. If you're like me you sneak as far you can, and when you get detected you sprint to where the elites are and vanish. Then pocket them. It's definitely impossible for me to get to the elites at 24 with 5 points in MoD. The ghosts in the backyard and kitchen will see me. Using sprint and vanish makes it hell a lot of easier.

All this nice discourse, but no mention of what the rune reward itself actually is.

Edit: I am currently working through the quest and will do so myself upon completion.
