Getting into Gnomeregan is easy because the outside is filled with Leper Gnomes. (Level 9-10.) This instance is for level 28-35. In the middle of the instance there is the "Clean Zone" you can repair weapons and armor from here. (You can even see if you have mail!) Once you get to the final boss he is in this huge machine. Once you defeat him he drops all blues with a nice Axe and Hammer.

It's nearly impossible to find a group for Gnomeregan if you're horde. You'd better hope you've got a high level rogue to run you through the back door.

I am an engineer with a gnomish universal remote and it is worht mentioning. Take control of bosses while either enemy NPCs attack them(It's fun to do and works) or let your party attack them.

Another thing for rogues& druids, I'm a druid, and one thing that is nice to do since it's so long of an instance is to make yourself a party/raid of druids and rogues only and roll for the boss loot. It is not of course the thing to do if you are powerlvling and is hardly worth doing if you have a high-lvl, but it works great if you're after loot such as the key and don't want to be bothered with everything in between.

I love this instance personally most people say they hate it and its to long but with a good grp I usually finish it in 1-2 hrs and not to metion there are many good drops for every class the only thing I don't like about it is the alarms they make the instance 2 times harder.

Too bad its so maze like.
Get a map add on (or a explorer open with one in it) and get ready to do a tiresome run!

The triprunner pants are totally worth the effort for most hunters and rogues/druids.

This instance sucks. It's one of the worst in WoW. Nothin' but a damn, annoying, long maze of stressful crap. If you have the chance to get into this instance with a GREAT group, then I definitely recommend doing so bcus of the few decent drops, RIG WARS reward, and a huge amount of EXP. Just think long about your decision with going into this dung pile. It just seems that everytime I did this on the tons of characters of mine, the group members just started pulling eachother apart once someone died, or if we got lost and stuff. I dunno, just something about this whack instance. Good Luck though, and hopefully it doesn't happen to your group.

Also, everyone in the instance group doesn't necessarily need the goblin transporter item to go into Gnomer. Only 2 people, atleast, need it so they can enter Gnomer and go to the outside summoning stone and summon every1 else. From inside Gnomer, when u use the goblin transporter, just go to your right and follow it outside and you'll reach the summoning stone, piece of cake to do this since patch 2.3!!! Watch out for ally, though, bcus they can attack you inside of Gnomer before you actually enter the instance portal (if playing on a PvP realm).

If you have a high level running through this make sure the take a cure Disease postion or similar

Ok, well, i'm not sure if this is a glitch or if it set up this way, but I have found(for alliance) that if you're in the clean room and you pull something in there and stand by the priests while fighting they give you a stamina buff (Power Word: Fortitude) for 22extra stamina.

From the punchographs, all you engineers can get the schematics for Discombobulator Ray and I'm pretty sure I was able to get the Recombulator Ray from one of them.

Would it be possible to do large pulls in here? From what I've experienced is that some mobs (mostly the mobs at the start of the instance) will just reset aggro when you get too far.

2 Manable at level 35 just did it with a Resto Shammy (me) and my friend a Sub Rogue. Few deaths and when we did die we could self rez/vanish and rez the other person. Worth noting that https://www.wowhead.com/classic/item=7506 is very handy.

me and my 4 lvl 30something friends rolled through this place as if it were a pumpkin patch. a fun dungeon with loot we could use - but if you're looking for an exciting small group adventure
it would have been a better time in the mid to late 20s

Just solo'd it as a 31 hunter, took 2/3 hours and died 10+ times before i got the hang of it, but its actually pretty easy. You get feign death at level 30 so you can snipe off non elites 1 at a time, and your pet can tank any elite or boss np. Theres also alot of evade spots. Also, you can skip almost the entire last tunnel before the final chamber, if you run along the wall on the right. thats where the rare spawns as well. For the final boss just pull him back, let your pet tank and snipe the bombs as they come.

Soloing instances is pretty fun, i remember ST was easy as a mage with imp blizzard, but the bosses were to much.

I typed this up on a corpse run just before the final guy, and i wasn't in fact able to kill him, i had massive threat problems from mend pet alone, dunno if my owl was best suited. Also a beastmastery spec would be supperior so perhaps with that you could manage.

A few days ago I did a solo run and encountered a bug concerning the entrance elevator: when it reaches the bottom it disappears then reappears when it goes back up.

To make matters worse you can't step back on the elevator, it will go through you and leave you at the bottom. I was still able to get a ride by continuously jumping on the spot as apparently the elevator spawns a feet or-so above the ground.

I made a ticket about this and got a reply it's a known bug.

Something really funny to do in this instance is to enter by the workshop and stealth to the last boss (if you can), or just kill the least mobs possible if you're a class who can't stealth. Then you aggro one guy in the tunnel near the boss and run back to the beginning of the instance, and you're gonna have a legion of guys coming behind you a few moments later... perfect if u wanna power level some1 or just have fun lol. I did it with fan of knives on my rogue.

Gnomeregan has a few static rare zone-drops. This is a list of all of them. (in no special order)

Gizmotron Megachopper
Oscillating Power Hammer
Supercharger Battle Axe
Hi-tech Supergun
Caverndeep Trudgers
Vibroblade
Petrolspill Leggings
Hotshot Pilot's Gloves
Mechbuilder's Overalls

All of these items are rare and have a small chance of dropping from any mob in Gnomeregan.

You can enter Gnomeregan as a horde easily by taking the quest "Chief Engineer Scooty" from Orgrimmar, then fly to Ratchet -> take the ship to Booty Bay -> complete quest -> wait a second -> jump to the teleport machine. QUEST REMOVED.

I just tried to solo this as a 40 Hunter and it went well.. up until the final door.

The mobs are no problem alone or in small groups. The problem is that Gnomer often doesn't HAVE small groups. Once you get deep into the area you'll encounter one or two elites paired with maybe four or five regular mobs.

Even at 40, having five or so of these little guys pound on you all at once really adds up and it can be hard to control so many foes. Trying to keep aggro on your pet can be rough since you'll need to cast Mend Pet at times and that will usually pull mobs to you.

Where I died was RIGHT outside the last boss door. When you open it there will be four to six regular gnomes (can't remember exactly how many) and two elites. One of them is one of those little Mechanostrider-bots, and the other is one of the anti-magic robots.

So, I'd advise against soloing this at that level. At least bring one partner, get all the quests you can, do this thing and then never ever look back.

....Although it would be really nice to see some 80's running people through this! Friends don't let friends run Gnomeregan.

ok, no one seems to be having this problem and i havent tried this but my bro syas that the door into the instance(the door to the portal) requires an acces card and he has killed 300 of those guys but hasnt gotten it, any sugestions?

This instance is kinda stupid. Not because its long. Not because theres loads of mobs. Its because a city is ruled by a lvl 36 elite mob and even thought gnomes have loads of high lvls they cant take it back

from my understanding of the whole storly behind gnomeregan is that the gnomes where driven out of thier home by dirty big troggs or summin. so i was thinking, why not just get 5 lvl 60's to run though and clear the place out, then the dam gnomes'll have thier city back...

Allience quests are possible for levels 28 and further but do not excepect to finish the entire dungeon with a group that is five people lvl 28...
Horde quests are harder and are for level 30 and further and yes you can finish the dungeon with a group of 5 lvl 30's.
the dungeon itself i huge realy huge... itll take a normal group (normal=no lvl 40+'s) about 3-4 hours to cover it all.
it is useless though to do the entire dungeon unless you want to grind ur ass off whitch is fine considering the 20-30 named mobs that are there.
there are 2 quests for horde and about 8 for allience most gotten from tinker-town in IF and there are 2 more quests inside 1 is escort and the other the quest to open the -Grime encured Objects-.
the final boss is level 34 and is realy hard walking bomb start apearing from holes surrounding the room whitch the boss is in the best way to do him is to have a hunter to move around the circle and destroy the bombs.
The is a shortened way to get to the final boss quickly (there and 2 portals inside the dungeon) come from allience side and when u enter big room cotinue forward instead of going to the right you than see a room with a hightend platform leave it alone go to the right and there u see a door a rogue will open it or the key that u get from one of the mini bosses will go inside and tadah your 2/3 way in the dungeon.

Everyone who said this instance is a waste of time is wrong. It's easy to solo with a 60, for plenty of profit. lvl 20-30 boe's, and save the grime covered objects, because they can be cleaned in the friendly gnome area, and yeild a random engineering reagent. Iron ore is the best i've gotten. Just give th alarm bots a quick attack to silence them. my lock can kill one with one swing of his Soul Harvester.

As a 60 Warrior, I have to disagree. Not only is it quite manageable, solo, I was doing it at a much lower level. You won't see many 60's running, though, because most of them despise the instance and prefer to farm slightly higher instances, like Scarlet Monastery.

The problem you're seeing with the massive crowd of mobs is caused by the alarmbots. No matter what level you are, what gear you're rolling with, or who you're fighting, you need to drop everything and hit the alarmbots when they start screaming. If left alive long enough, they will draw the attention of more mobs than an entire group can handle.

You go down the elevator
you run and kill a little more
then the road splits...

LEFT takes you to the Clockwork run side of gnomer.

RIGHT takes you to Techbot, the first part of the Prismatic punch card quest, AND the back door.

when your on that platform and if you haven't turned...

LEFT is techbot
STRAIGHT is the back door...

it's not that hard to find lolz

I came in here with my friend for a run and my honest opinion is, having seen most of the dungeon content 1-60 is that this instance blows. If you have the levels just hit Scarlet Monastery and give this one a miss. Better yet, spend the '2-4 hours' you'll spend in here growing levels and then hit SM - it'll be a far better use of your time. If you do insist on doing it, take a warlock who knows his way round soulstones because the run back is one of the worst I've had to do in a long time. EDIT: The only other instance that ^&*!s me this much is Sunken Temple and even that had its moments.

I never entered Gonomeregan before, except briefly with my Lv 12 Gnome Mage which never made it past the first corner. I went back with my Lv 39 Night Elf Rogue just to see what was in there. I needed some supplies for Alliance Commmendations and I was in that area and picked up a couple of quests for there I thought I'd pay a visit. The dungeon is a bit confusing if you've never been through it before. I caught the elevator down and started exploring, mostly in stealth although that wasn't really necessary against the mid-level elites in the upper levels.
I had two quests I received from the Gnomes in IF, one for the prismatic card and the other for essentioal artifacts. I had no clue what or where they were but they turned out easy enough to get. The initial (white) card you get from a mob in the upper level and use it on the appropriate machine to get the card for the subsequent level. The machines start at #### -A then go to -B, etc., so the right one is easy enough to identify. The essential artifacts are pretty much all over the mid-lower levels so getting 12 was no problem.
I did have two problems that made life in this instance a bit challenging. The first were the little non-elites that patrol very quickly in the mid levels. If I wasn't careful I'd end up against 2 elites and 3 non-elites which, with my low armor level, made survival difficult. The other was going solo against the mechanical 32+ elites because my poisons had no effect. Other than that stealthing around was relatively simple to do, although I tended to knock off as many as safely possible for the drops.
On the way out there's an elevator that takes you to a shortcut (the elevator is close to where you get the prismatic card) and having lockpicking made it simple to open the locked doors. I even reopened one I had just passed through for a party that wanted to go through that route. No XP though, but it's an interesting place to explore. There's even a "safe" area where the Sparklematic 5200s were located where you can safely pause, sell extra stuff you've collected to a vendor, or mail them to an alt. I get bored cleaning grime-encrusted items because I wasn't getting much in return for the 3 s I had to spend for each cleaning. I didn't know about the ring so I sold the rest (about 15) to the vendor. Incidentally, the green guards there won't help you knock off any mobs. I tried pulling one and they just stood there.

ive had a great Idea.
If there is another expansion, they should have it that gnomeregan gets cleared and saved and made into a real city. And the gnomes manage to make a virtual reality version of the gnomeregan instance so people can still do it, all the quests start within the city and are "Tests" to see if you can actully do it.

ran a friend and a couple lowbies through today, we wiped once, I'm a 70 lock. Somebody aggroed the bottom area on the way to thermaplugg, and I started casting seed of corruption on everything, got about 3 off before the first one took effect. the arcane nullifiers reflected it back, and I was dead before I knew what happened.

It is possible to solo 3 of the Gnomeregan bosses as a L40 horde feral druid. I only did 3 bosses because other boss drops didn't interest me, but I'm pretty sure the other bosses are soloable as well. Soloing the large groups of mobs on the other hand is another matter.
I didn't try it at L40 - I'm not a fan of dying :)
Basically you stealth to the bosses and tank n spank in bear form. Avoiding the large and numerous groups of mobs in stealth is a nerve-wracking business, and to make it even more fun the Alarm-O-bots can detect stealth ! Keep your distance from them if you see one coming. It will only sound the alarm if you get into it's aggro range, so you do have a bit of leeway at L40.
If it does sound the alarm, KILL IT QUICKLY...otherwise it summons a patrol of 2 or 3 elites - you will probably not survive.

Electrocutioner 6000 - Very straightforward to take him down.
Use bear form, you will have enough health. I managed him at L39 as well. He drops the workshop key, which allows you to get in through the back entrance and head straight for Thermaplugg if you intend doing runs in Gnomeregan in the future.

Crowd Pummeler 9-60
I managed this guy at L39 as well.
Getting to this guy is tricky. Lots of mobs to avoid which can best be done by sticking close to the walls. He is alone in a room, but watch out for patrols and Alarm-O-bots
passing through ! If you are in the middle of battle with him, and an Alarm-O-bot comes along, KILL THE ALARM-O-BOT IMMEDIATELY.
Crowd pummeler drops a great dps 2H mace (+16str +5agi) which I actually didn't get.
(Got Staff of Ironaya from Uldaman instead)

Thermaplugg - this is a tough fight, but it can be done.
Stealth all the way down to the bottom of the ramp, avoiding the dark iron dwarves and other mobs. It's not too hard to do if you have a bit of patience, and good timing when
you pass them.
(ie. Do not stealth past a bunch of mobs when one of the mobs is walking in your direction :)
It is possible to reach Thermaplugg WITHOUT A SINGLE FIGHT.
I have done this twice - once at L39 and once at L40.
No fluke or luck involved, just correct timing.
The barrier in the way is the hangar door. You have to open it to get to Thermaplugg and there are 3 mobs guarding it.
Go to the right of the door, and watch the mob closest to you.
In WoW, you do not have to be right on top of a chest or an item when you open it or use it. You can be a small distance away from it.
Make sure you are at this 'max distance' from the door before attempting to open it, and as close to the right wall as possible.
As long as the 'cog' still shows on your screen, you're ok.
Now, the moment the closest mob to you turns away, right click on the hangar door.
The hangar door opens immediately, it is not a 'channeled' opening that takes 5 or more seconds !
Opening the hangar door breaks your stealth, but it DOES NOT AGGRO THE MOBS. (lol)
The moment the door opens, reverse away from the mobs and the door and go into stealth again as soon as you can. Once you are back in stealth, sneak past the large group of mobs in the
hangar and go say 'hi' to Thermaplugg.
You will need to shapeshift a few times to heal in this fight, shifting between druid and bear form and those walking bombs are gonna hurt you, but the fight is winnable.

Positioning is important in this fight. Do not fight Thermaplugg in the centre of the room.
Fight him at the side of the hangar. The walking bombs come from a number of different chutes which are spread around the hangar. By being at the side of the hangar you are increasing the amount of time it takes for some of the bombs to reach you, which will 'stagger' the damage you take, allowing you time to react when it is time to shapeshift and heal. The bombs will not all arrive at once.

One interesting tactic in this fight is to ALLOW HIS KNOCKBACK. In a lot of WoW boss fights it is common practice for the tank to put his back to a wall to avoid being flung about the
room. Not in this fight. Thermaplugg's knockback HELPS YOU.
On at least one occasion I avoided the bomb explosions because Thermaplugg knocked me away at the precise moment some of the walking bombs decided to explode, and on top of that once you land yards away after the knockback you have a few seconds before Thermaplugg catches up to you again.
Use these seconds to shapeshift and heal !
(Only...don't position yourself in such a way that his knockback flings you into the mobs at the door of the hangar ?)

I attempted Thermaplugg at L39 with no joy. At L40 I got Dire Bear form and this made the difference.
He dropped Charged gear of the monkey for me, very nice
of him :)

Ways to get rep with gnomes

1. AV gives rep with main cities

2. Handing in various cloth

3. Doing all the quests around the gnome starting area, loch moden and there are some in stonetallon.

I am gaining rep to get ambasitor and to see if i can get my last few mounts i need to get 50 for the albino dreak. (im a draenei)

I have a 80 Gnome Warrior. So far i have completed this chr, but....

The city that should be rightfully the Gnomes (Gnomeregan) is STILL being run by a lvl 36 elite mob.....euck......I have run this Raid by myself nearly 100 times now, and still the Gnomes dont move in.

I think Blizzerd is lazy for not giving the Gnomes a proper City of their own.

Not worth doing the end part, at least at level 32. The dark iron agents at the end tunnel are pretty much impossible to kill with their land mines, and alert system going off.

As of Season of Discovery Phase 3, the entry requirement may have been changed. The lowest I've previously been aware of during Phase 2 was 35, but I've now confirmed it that the 10-player raid dungeon can be entered as early level 25.
