Wailing Caverns is a level 17-24 instance. The class set in the instance is called Clothing of the Fang. The class set is for druids but can be used with shamans, and sometimes rogues.
The solo lvl is 34 with my shaman i ran threw at lvl 34 and made it.

I took my alt firespec mage in at lvl 24..It was great. I suggest a mage is a must in there if for nothing else but croud control..also I reckon a great place to learn that, as its one of the most important lessons for a mage in my opinion.

I used to hate this zone on my warrior, it's the biggest pain ever possible, shamans would spam ERFSHOCK and then you had to fight over who tanks - several times I've found myself fighting over aggro with shamans who were then whining that they're getting damage... oh really.

The Wailing Caverns seem to be the place that new horde and alliance come to learn about their class. Tanking, not breaking crowd control, healing. Hopefully when you go through, your (or other people's) learning experience won't be frustrating for you.

Ran it at lvl 26 on my mage with a 20 druid- got pretty far with some fanglords down but then we were bored and quit. I then soloed it at lvl 34 no problem, except the last boss who hits pretty hard so I decided I couldn't be bothered to clear the remaining trash mobs in order to kite him so I downed all Fanglords and the big murloc :)

does anyone know what the minimum level to go into the instance is? I dont mean what level you need to get a group, but just the lowest level that you can possibly enter the instance.
评论来自
30549
It will not allow you to enter under lvl 10.
Highly recommended that you are at least 17 before you enter though, unless you have a 60/70 running you through and you stay WAY back to avoid ANY aggro.

Definatly worth the solo run for collecting gear for Alts / Twinks, though it takes as long to do as DM (so it may be worth hanging on a few levels until DM is solo'able)

This could be considered the first real instance for Horde since RFC is quite easy. This instance has 6 bosses in it. The last one can only be confronted after accepting an escort quest after the first 5 are dead. The instance itself can be a bit confusing and even worse if you happen to fall from the higher levels. This instance is recommended for levels 15 and higher but is more realistically for levels 17 and higher.

Mutanus is sort of a "secret" boss. After you've killed Anacondra, Cobrahn, Serpentis, and Pythas, go back to the druid at the start of the instance and talk to him. I would recommend that you clear the path between him and the chamber of endless sleep first, as you have to escort him over there. Several waves of snakes and slimes will spawn, and you must protect the druid before Mutanus will show up.

Is it just me, or did WC scale WAAAY better than VC (or... horde low level instances in general)?
I would love to have the Living Root, Feycale Cloak, Serpent Gloves, Robe of the Moccasin, those bracers from RFC, for any caster that I'm leveling. I mean sure, emberstone staff is nice, so are the new gold flecked gloves, but... alliance got the crappy side of the upgrades to pre-bc instances if you ask me.

After u killed all Boss Lord of the Fang u can get access to the last boss, a big murloc: Mutanus the Devourer
https://www.wowhead.com/classic/npc=3654
u first need to kill all Lord of the Fang
then go back near the instance portal and speak with the tauren druid
follow him and cover him killing all mobs on the way
he goes in a place in which there is a night elf druid sleeping
then he starts to "ress" the night elf and u and ur grp must cover him killing all mobs coming from water
at last will come Mutanus
he drop good stuff for warrior..

Tail Spike, Gloves of the fang (which I had already bought at ah cause they're rare) serpants shoulders, leggings of the fang, and the useless to a rogue compared to defias, armor of the fang. Luckiest run of any instance I have ever been through. Cheers!

The most important thing you need entering this instance is time. This is possibly the longest instance in game, save BRD and raids. Since most people don't have this, Mutanus is rarely done.

Chances are, if you are a hunter you will be very familiar with the instance by the time you get all the gear you need. I've probably ran this instance close to 15 times trying to get the Venomstrike and Feet of the Fang. Finally got the Venomstrike and have to say it was worth it. Just remember that even with a map this instance can be confusing. There is different levels (height) and multiple ways you can get to a certain place. You must go all the way to the east to get up to the final boss.

Great instance to level skinning. Most mobs yield Light or Medium leather, some yield Perfect Deviate Scales or regular Deviate Scales. You can get the patterns for Deviate Scale Gloves and Deviate Scale Cloak from a vendor above WC, along with a quest for the Deviate Scale Belt pattern (which is not BOP).

Pull only 1-3 at a time in WC, and make sure you back up, there are many clusters of mobs patroling leading to more mobs
The boss

There are 3 Bosses in Wailing Caverns that can be easily looted by using Master Looter mode. The first is Lady Anaconda. Come into the instance and head out of the first tunnel into the open area with the "ditch" and where you can go left/right/forward. Have your high level kill the raptors, crocodiles, and roaming druids to allow you to go forward into the ditch. Make sure the ditch is cleared both left and right of crocodiles and oozes. Have your high level go run around the level above you to Lady Anaconda. She can spawn in about 3 locations but they are all close to the ditch. Just move left or right in the ditch to get as close as you can and have the friend kill her and loot the drop to you.
Next boss is Lord Cobrahn. Go West (or as you enter the ditch....Left) down the ditch killing a crocodile or two. You will come to a large room with a croc or two in it. Kill them. There will be a winding path up to Lord Cobrahn. Have your friend run up the spiral to him and stand with his back to the cliff facing Cobrahn. You move directly below him hugging the cliff wall. Now he attacks and pulls Cobrahn over to the cliff edge (he will probably be in Serpent form by that time) and kill him. He loots the drop to you.
The last boss is Serpentis. As stated above you can head back to the entrance area or head to where the "bail off well" is located. (edited for clarity.....See the Lord Serpentis comments for the exact spots to stand) Have your friend kill him and master loot to you. Don't mind the big turtle Kresh as he wanders in the ditch unless you need a nice shield which he drops.
Wailing Caverns is one of the few instances which can be master looted so easily. The other that comes to mind is the rare spawn undead warrior in Shadowfang Keep which can be looted from the instance portal.

The "escort" to the final boss (Mutanus the Devourer) is kinda annoying. You would think that the NPC would like to rescue the sleeper fast, but nooo. When getting boosted that part feels like its taking as long as the whole instance did.
I have also experienced Mutanus the Devourer not emerging from the water, hence all trouble for no boss. Not sure if Blizzard has sorted this bug out yet, but it has happend twice for me and a few more times for a couple of friends.
Last two visits he has emerged as usual so hopefully Blizz has sorted this little bug out.

If anyone wana know, i jsut did this at my lvl 20 shaman as tank and healer, with 3 lvl 16-17-19 dpses with me (just randoms, didnt know them, and all of us had normal green gear) ^^
Also did this 3-man at lvl 17-18-18 with some RLs, shaman + druid + warrior.
This is not to brag or anything, just to show what is possible. Im sure its possible with even fewer people and lower lvls.
I recommend you who have played wow for a while and have highlvl mains, to reroll new alts with some friends and lvl in instances with 3-4 people. Did it myself and its very fun and challenging when you get higher up, at say RFD or even Ulda ;)

Like above comments says, this is the instance that lowbies will be the new hope for raids. They learn their classes role, and how to group, how to roll for items, etc. Also can be the most funnest experience for lowbies. People come back with a great amount of loot, and a great amount of pleasure, and a great amount of experience.
Run this instance.

This is not true. Wailing Caverns has nothing todo with the demi-god Agamaggan. The instance you are thinking of is Razorfen Downs.
The entrance of this instance is not supposed to be a skull. :)
Here's the blizz info of the instance:
Recently, a night elf druid named Naralex discovered a network of underground caverns within the heart of the Barrens. Dubbed the 'Wailing Caverns', these natural caves were filled with steam fissures which produced long, mournful wails as they vented. Naralex believed he could use the caverns' underground springs to restore lushness and fertility to the Barrens - but to do so would require siphoning the energies of the fabled Emerald Dream. Once connected to the Dream however, the druid's vision somehow became a nightmare. Soon the Wailing Caverns began to change - the waters turned foul and the once-docile creatures inside metamorphosed into vicious, deadly predators. It is said that Naralex himself still resides somewhere inside the heart of the labyrinth, trapped beyond the edges of the Emerald Dream. Even his former acolytes have been corrupted by their master's waking nightmare - transformed into the wicked Druids of the Fang.

Yes indeed. My friend ran it on his 80 pally (which is nice because the AOE from Consecration and Divine Storm basically 1 hit everything) and I went through on my druid. Got so many leather pieces in there that kick ass. "The Fang" set is beautiful for a feral druid@lvl 17 or 18

Yes Mutanus the Devourer is the last boss but if you kill all four " lord of the fang's" to be able to go to the tauren in the beginning of the instace and speak to him, he will walk to a cave and he will try to wake upp a sleeping night elf.
When he does that there will come 3-4 waves of monsters and i think that after the tauren has made the night elf wake upp (after youv killed the monsters) Mutanus the Devourer will come and when youv killed him youl get the acheivment Wailing Caverns.

As a level 75 Night Elf Hunter with my pet Echeyakee this was easy. The only thing that took time was running to each of the four
Fanglords
you must kill before summoning final boss.
As you enter you will notice a NPC named
Disciple of Naralex
, you will end up coming back to him when the "evil" is dead.
Watch out for pesky trash mobs... good skinning here ^_^
The bosses you must down are as follows:
Lord Cobrahn
(Boss #2 if you use AtlasLoot Ehanced v5.05.00). He is located to the far West of the dungeon. Pain to wind around down to him, but he's an easy kill.
Lady Anacondra
(Boss #3). After taking down Boss #2 come back around East and go across the water bridge (north). Simple to find, easy to kill.
Lord Pythas
(Boss #5). He is a pain to get to as well. Trek all the way (north slightly) East.
Lord Serpentis
(Boss #7). He is the biggest pain of all to get to if you have never been here before. From Boss #5 go south and around the path East and then back up North on to the upper floor. It's very round-about way but you have to go.
Drop down (I lived, but you might have to back track) and head back to the entrance to see (Boss #1)
Disciple of Naralex
. Talk to him and then follow him to the final boss area. A few trash mobs are summoned and try to attack, AoE them down.
Once
Disciple of Naralex
gets to the final boss area (Boss #9) he will be trying to awaken
Naralex
(found on table) from a terrible dream, in the mean time, you must protect them. A few mobs emerge from the surrounding water and eventually
Mutanus the Devourer
(ugly giant murloc) emerges and you take him down.
~Wailing Caverns~
Location: The Barrens (West of Rachet) In Lushwater Oasis
Coords: 46, 36
Minimum Level: 10
Level Range: 16-25
5-10 man dungeon
Hope this helps! Happy hunting!

When fighting a group of raptors, if you can, kill the Deviate Ravagers (the pink ones) before the Deviate Guardians (the blue ones), especially when soloing. The Guardians cry for help when their health goes low, and if you still have a bunch of Ravagers running around nearby, this can mean four or five more adds very quickly. The Ravagers do not cry for help, so they are much easier to take out without getting half a dozen adds.
From what I can tell, when they cry out,
all
mobs nearby come running, not just other raptors. I had Druids of the Fang and Evolving Ectoplasm show up as well, so again, take them out first when possible and leave the Guardians for last.

There's an unlisted quest for Wailing Caverns. Once you've killed all the leaders of the fang, come back to the beginning and speak to the Tauren disciple. He gives you the option to start an escort quest. You escort him to the sleeping druid, fight through several waves of monster spawns, then you get to fight Mutanis the Devourer.

It's in Horde country in the Barrens, just a bit southwest of the Crossroads. If you are Alliance on a PVE server you should be OK without getting pounced on by Horde. Just make sure if you are around level 20 that you go with a full party.
The Leaders of the Fang quest is remarkable in its blue reward (Crescent Staff is the best quest reward for a staff user in their 20s, nothing even comes close to that as a quest reward for Alliance) but it is at the end of a long chain of quests that involve talking to NPCs in the Crossroads and Thunder Bluff. I don't think an Alliance character will be able to interact with them. AND the staff is BOP.
In order to get finish Leaders of the Fang you must kill all four bosses during the same instance run. You cannot just kill two then leave, then restart the instance later to kill the other two. All four must be dead at the same time. When you do, you will be able to talk to the tauren NPC by the entrance, and you will escort him through another phase of the quest.

1/2. 2 guys above the entrance to the cave (inside the right eye of the skull looking cave from the skulls perspective, left if u are looking at it from the oasis) give 1 each.
3. a chain starting in xroads at the southern exit with "the forgotten pools" ends up with the "leaders of the fang" quest. Just continue the chain that starts with "the forgotten pools."
4. a chain that starts at ratchet near the bank with a quest to find raptor horns, ends up in WC as "Wailing Essence" quest.
5. Guy on the dock at Ratchet gives a quest to find a goblin (he is not in the instance and he spawns in 3 places within the caverns)
6. Guy in the Pools of Vision in Thunder Bluff gives the "serpentbloom" quest.

If you are Alliance, you -can- get to it. PVE server or not (just a lot easier than pvp).
When you get the the Gold Road where the Horde guards are at the South end of Ashenvale, go over towards the left. There is an unguarded passage through the fence into the Barrens.
Easy to avoid the npc pvps, just be careful of other players if you are on a PVP server.
评论来自
Thottbot
If you're Alliance, to get to the Barrens safely, go through Ashenvale. Instead of approaching the main gate, go around to the left. There's a bit of broken fencing you can scramble over to get into the Barrens.
My party of 22 priest, 23 druid and 24 hunter wiped very early into the instance because we got ambushed by four 21 elites. If you go with a lower level party, be careful to pull one mob at a time!

wailing caverns is good for exp and armour, but hell for someone boosting you
Its a pretty long for lv aroudnd lv 20
The main parts of it though are the 4 snake lords
The first one, lady anaconda can be found in 1 of 3 places, which makes it important to do the whole of the first floor before jumping down in the river like part
The second snake lord is relatavily easy to find, when yuo jump down into the crocodile infested river, and go left, you climb up alot and, then along a long path, hes at the end, with 2 non elite snake add ons
Then is the 3rd snake lord, you know youve gone into the rigth part when you go through a corridor covered in vegetation
He'll be in the corner of a big room, with a druid nelf and a shambler close by
You should take them out first and then go for the snake lord
The last snake lord is atop along trail, in a massive cavern
However also in that cavern is a also massive shambler
The shambler isnt close enough to take aggro when you fight the 4 snake lord, but still be careful
After the snake lords talk to the druid at the start, and follow him
Dont run ahead! as he gets attack twice by 2 pators once and 3 snakes another
After the snakes you can run ahead and clear any left over enemys
he'll walk into a chamber and begin awakening a nelf
You must gaurd him, as elite snakes, non elite blobs and the final elite boss
The boss has high hp, but should be reletavily easy providing your group is ok
He drops a item which starts a quest
Wailing caverns has its own armour set, known as Embrace of the Viper
This is excelent for druids & shamans, however wont appeal to warriors or paladins
Warlocks or priest's cant equip it as its leather
And rouges can go for it, however includes intelent increase which will go to waste on them
For rouges the Defias set is better
Along the way are 4 optional boss's
The first is a powerful turtle, who drops 2 sheilds, and can rare drip a 1 hand sword
The second is a thunder lizard called scum
Hes annoying with high hp, is gaurded by 2 elites and is immune to all nature damage, not to include he runs away if he gets low hp
The third is a massive shambler, who is a 2nd to last boss if yuo fight him
He isnt easy, with nearly 4000hp and his attacks deal out about 200 damage
The 4th is a faire dragon
The dragon isnt easy to get to, the way to him is litter with groups of shamblers and druids
Also this boss is a rare boss, so yuo can go check if yuo want, but it can turn out to be a waste of time

In this instance, you must kill ALL the leaders of the fang (Lady Anacondra, Lord Cobrahn, Lord Serpentis, and Lord Pythas), not every boss. Once you have killed all of the leaders of the fang, you should run back to the beginning, unless you need gear from the non-fang bosses. Once at the beginning, talk to "Disciple of Naralex" and he will start a quest in which you must awake Naralex. You get to Naralex's chamber, and fight through waves of monsters, but you MUST keep "Disciple of Naralex" alive. Once he's done, Naralex awakes, a giant murloc named "Mutanus the Devourer" will come out of the water and attack. Kill him and you win! :) Hope this helped as how to summon the Murloc.

I think what makes this instance great is the number of low level greens you can pick up. If you're in a guild with a lot of new toons you can practically outfit everyone with one run. I went in with a 40 warrior and 4 empty 16 slot bags and by the time I came out I was dropping everything non-green. It's also great if you have a toon that you just switched to enchanting because it provides a lot of low level stuff to DE without buying out the auction house and messing up all the low levels trying to upgrade.
