Already got a Crimson Whelping (bought it for 120g) and now i found someone nice enough to put it in the AH at a 50g bid.. and afaik i'm still the only bidder (low pop server). Been farming the red, flamesnorting and crimson whelps for a week and don't wanna do that again for the dark one.. You can better farm graveyard (at 60) to get money for one than farm them yourselves. The green one is my next wow goal :D.

drop rate isn't high, you get it from the Scalding Whelps in Badlands ( at Lethlor Ravine )

sold it for 90 G ....

Ha! Got one on the third whelp, put it in AH for 100g, 150 buyout, maybe a little high but i can always lower and try again if necesary.

from the first one i killed :)

sold it for 75g.

Is it possible to egt them from the Black Dragon Whelps in the Redrige Moutains? I want to know because my main is a level 24 priest and if not then I won't have any hope of getting them any time soon.

Got one last nite, boy was i surprised. It's so cute. I kept mine. Got it from the Whelplings in Duskwallow Marsh. I had been hunting there on a quest for hearts and tongues for quite some time. I had no idea this pet was a drop.

It was dropped in Badlands by one of the non-elite dragons

Was out questing in Dustwallow Marsh on Duraton Server and noticed a good number of people farming the mobs I needed. Asked one of the level 60's why they were killing the low level mobs and he let me know he was looking for a "rare pet". I thought it sounded interesting but didn't put much thought into it.

A couple days later I was back in Dustwallow Marsh just working on upgrading my herbalism and had a mob interrupt me while I was trying to harvest. So I go kill it, and wouldn't you know... Dark Whelpling pet drop!

I probably killed 50 or so mobs for the quest and then 3 or 4 while collecting the herbs in the area that next time out there, all and all - I'd have to say pretty darn lucky.

On our server they don't seem to sell all that high - around 50 to 80g. Still very cool!

I got it with my 43 druid while questing in duskwallow marsh,
I didn't know it was rare , but my m8 told me it was.
Don't sell it, using it myself :-)
