I trained him on 11-08-2006 1:30 PST on the Moonrunner realm.

I have read some incorrect statements about his speed being changed since last patch. For the record, he comes with Dash 1 with 1.0 sec attack speed still. I camped all day for him. It was absolutely worth it. I am BM speeced, and when he goes into Frenzy mode he has .7 sec attack speed. Oh the fun we shall have in PvP.

Orrhhhh man. ive had him since lvl 37 (lvl 65 now) and ive loved him. he is so annoying to casters. but sadly enough he got Nerfed... sigh.

if you just stand at 50,24 then you can use eagle eye to see all 3 spawns to avoin running round to see if he is there. You can also have beast traking on so you can see it on the radar when you use eagle eye.

Although I live in England I play on USA server Shadow Moon. I camped the area (having first printed off the map from this site) for 6 hours yesterday and no show). I grinded a level from 40 to 41 killing the ridge stalker cats, and the buzzards while going round the spawn sites. I did the same for 3 hours this morning. I thought I'd take one last trip from the position near Angor fortress out to the position just below Camp Kosh. As I rode around the corner there he was right by another ridge stalker. I was off the mount and down with the ice trap in double quick time. It was a good job I had killed so many ridge stalkers. To get him from angry to merely content took 11 pieces of meat, and it was a couple of fights and 6 more feeds before he was green very happy. Be warned this one seems to need more feeding than most initially.

If you wing clip a mob and then back away from it Broken Tooth's video is quite funny, as he seems to lift both front paws to stike whilst trying to chase at the same time. Looks like an an awkard double leg hooping motion. But he is hitting all the time as the mob runs at you, and he runs along behind them striking.

Slower to keep up with the mount on a run than my STV tiger, but then Broken Tooth has dash 2 to start, and in P v P thats a real boon. Now that I have logged out I will need to level him to 40 before teaching him dash 2 again, but once I have more points on him, I'll teach him dash 1 when I re log.

I caught him at 13.25 gmt. Thats 1.25pm gmt which is I believe 7.25 am central USA time.

I have a Night Elf hunter level 38 on the PVP server Shadow Moon. I tamed Broken Tooth yesterday at around 6:30 - 7:00pm eastern time. I used the same technique as most people, make a macro to target Broken Tooth and stand on that tall rock south east of Angor Fortress and eagle eye all three spawns. He appeared at the eastern spawn. I waited about 5 hours checking off and on for him. Let me say, it really sucked waiting because even being a Night Elf with shadowmeld turned on; some high level horde riding by sensed me and ganked me and it is a pretty long walk back to your corpse from there. Not to mention there were high level hunters on both sides waiting for BT every now and then. Yes, BT still has 1.0 attack speed which was worth it for pvp with casters. BT does exactly half as much damage as a cat with 2.0 attack speed but the same dps.

BT at level 37 was
1.00 attack speed
27-34 damage
30.5 damage per second
and Echeyakee the cat I've had since level 16 who is now level 37
2.00 attack speed
54-68 damage
30.5 damage per second

All other stats were the same, so from this comaparison it seems all cat's damage evens out. BT is just good for annoying casters.

Just finished taming Broken Tooth and I am so happy. He is not an elite and he was easy to tame with my 37 orc hunter.

I started camping his spawns earlier tonight. One of my guildmates told me about the Eagle Eye trick (the mound is at about 52,25) and I tried that every hour or so, with Track Beasts turned on. After about six tries, I was walking around the area when I got ganked by a bunch of Night Elves :(

They corpse camped me a few times and I was starting to get frustrated. After I ressed, I hearthed back to Orgrimmar and logged off for an hour or two. I was just about to go to bed when I thought "I should probably move my character back to the Eagle Eye mound so I can start again tomorrow."

So I show up at the mound, and I made one last Eagle Eye check of the spawn points. I dropped an Eagle Eye on the eastern point, and was moving the mouse over the little tracking dots on my minimap when suddenly "Broken Tooth" came up. I flipped out and ran as fast as I could over there. He had lots of stalkers around him, and the first time I put my Freezing Trap down, another stalker hit it and I had to Feign Death. But then after it thawed out and ran off, I dropped another one and pulled Broken Tooth across it with an Arcane Shot. As soon as he froze, I started taming, and I was about halfway done with taming by the time he thawed out. It was successful and all I had to do was feed him a few Cured Ham Steaks until he was happy.

He did have Dash 2, but it was gone after I dismissed him and called him again. And he really does have 1.0.

The point of all of this is that it is going to be frustrating, but it's totally worth it when you get him tamed. Now my only problem is picking a cool name for him. I'm thinking "Hobbes". :)

Silver dragon isnt elite. Its rare spawn. Notice in the bottom right of screenshot, it says "Level 37 beast" from your mouse-over on BT. It doesnt say elite.

Took me about 19 hours to get him since i started looking. First 5 hours I just sat on the mound and nothing so I went to sleep at about 8am. Got up at about 4pm (8 hours later) and still nothing. I eventually eyed him in front of the fortress on the hill. My heart skipped a beat I couldn't believe me eyes! HE OWNS! DAMN! I was soooo nervous taming him cause I was wtfpwning this lvl 38 warrior a couple minutes before and I thought he'd come up and ruin it. The first time I tamed him, he resisted and it didn't work so I had to pot (MAKE SURE U HAVE A POT!) and the second time I was fortunate! I love this pet, but the allies dont :(

Day 1, Tuesday: Camped the spot at 50,24, using eagle eye on the three spawn points actively for four hours, from 11pm (pacific time) to 3am. Nothing.

Day 2, Wednesday: Did a combination of camping 50,24 and using eagle eye, running to each spawn point and just grinding mobs in between, and standing at 50,24 while using eyes of the beast to scout the three points. I did this from 9:30pm to 4:30am and got sooooo tired of the whole thing. Broken Tooth be damned! By the end I was no longer playing a game called WoW. I was a rabid hunter in pursuit of the beast of all ages. Hell-bent on first taming this f-ing cat, and then killing it, I was beyond all reason and hope. I think I even growled and twitched like a cat as I was falling asleep. I was definitely foaming at the mouth.

Day 3, Thursday: My first thought on waking at 11:40am was, "!@#$ Broken Tooth". Then I of course immediately logged in, used eagle eye on the northern spawn point, SAW HER, ran over post haste abandoning my pet and switching from aspect of the cheetah to aspect of the monkey on the way, aggroed two mobs, cursed the gods, killed the two mobs, and tamed Broken Tooth FINALLY! Still trying to decide if I want to camp her again just to kill her ass and show her who's boss. But prolly not.

Advice: Be lucky, and be crazy with your patience and constant with your scouting. GOOD LUCK!

After flying to Badlands for the past week looking for him and getting no luck, I decided to get up at 6:30 am today (New Years Day). Fortunately nobody else on Shattered Hand (EU) is mental enough to do this and he was up. Freeze trapped him and tamed him, hearthstoned, wished the 3 people in IF Happy New Year and went back to bed.

Here's my sob story about Broken Tooth ... I hit Badlands at 36, and holy crap, he was *right there*. But, since I was 36, I couldn't tame him. So I was grinding and doing crappy little quests there to get my XP up, every once in a while checking to see if he was still there (he was). All of a sudden, the message "Server will restart in 15 minutes" pops up, and I'm like, "Holy %^&*, I need to grind like a mo'fo!".

And so I did. I've never leveled as fast as I did then. Ran out of drinks right at the last mob, dinged 37, hauled ass back to where he was, abandoned my pet, started the taming process with 15 seconds to go ...

... And then the server reset.

At first, I was like, "!@#$! He's gonna be gone!" But I had hope! It was just a restart, the possibility that he'd be there when I logged back was foremost on my mind as I hammered my password repeatedly into the login. Esc server choice window, password, escape window, etc.

Finally, I was in. This would be my happiest moment in WoW with my fledgling hunter. Visions of pwning hordie in WSG at 39 with Frenzy and ranged attacks danced merrily through my head. "This is it!", I said to myself.

When the game showed, I could see no mobs, but I was still in the process of taming. "Ahh ..." I thought, all is well.

And then the mobs started reappearing.

And there was no Broken Tooth. As I sat there with a slack jaw, staring in disbelief, I had the faint hope that maybe I had already tamed him. Hit my whistle, and nothing. Eventually, the hearts floating solo above my head ceased to be.

Broken Tooth had eluded yet another.

EDIT: At the advice of a guildie, I logged out at the spot I tried taming him. Didn't hold out much hope at him being there when I'd try later in the day, but at 4pm exactly, I logged on, and damned if he wasn't sitting there looking me in the eye, saying "Tame me, tame me ..." =)

So I did, and all was right with the world. Unfortunately, only other hunters are as happy about it as I am, everyone else is "meh".

ok, well i have been camping broken tooth for 2 days now. he finally spawned miraculously. i felt my heart miss a beat. i hastily abandoned my main pet (the rake) and proceeded to tame him. i successfully tamed him, yet there was no flash. no light. nothing. he continud to attack me. this has happened ot me numerous times before. i have no idea why. anyways, due to adds, i died. i ressed and ran all th way there. i died again. i ressed and ran there again... i died AGAIN. third time lucky i thought, all the while my heart is racing fearing someon eelse tamed him. i ressed, and i find two 34 alliance rogue and hunter just finishing killing him. then they proceed to gank me. thats when i decided to end my life.

Camped off and on for 4 days almost. Last night around 1AM ST, he wasn't there...so i logged on top of the mound. Set my clock for 730ST...he was there.

Freeze trap tame...got 2 adds but i didn't lose focus...as a matter of fact...after i got BT, he KILLED the 2 adds...

GO BT!

Just tamed this with my level 60, I will power-ding it up to 60 A.S.A.P. of course. I just ran around the three spawn points on my mount for 10 minutes before I found it with Track Beasts.

Tamed her at level 37, and had her for 2 levels now. She's the best and I just loooove to kill horde-casters 2,3,4,5 levels above my own. I just have ione problem though; I can't seem to teach her prowl, eventhough Pettopia and other pet-sites state that all cats can learn this ability. Does anyone know what the problem is ? Please let me know, cause i'm a nightelf and it sucks that my pet can't disappear like me :(

I'm just gonna solve a little problem right now. For anyone who is still looking for Broken Tooth, here are the 3 possible locations for that beatiful cat, and for you non-co-ordinate users, a description of where that is.
54,10=Beside the Uldaman entrance where you enter the badlands from Loch Modan. Should be beside a rock wall.
42,36=This is to the front-left (if you're facing it) of the Angor Fortress, he should be relatively close to a large cement pole.
64,29=This is just on the opposite side of the rocks of Camp Kosh, the best landmark to use is a low flat grey rock. He should spawn near there. Or half way up the opposing hill.
I chose the spot to sit at 55,24: a large tall boulder that always has a ridge stalker half way up it. There is a beautifully clear view of all 3 spawn points, and yes eagle eye is quite handy.
Funnily enough, I came into the badlands and there was a 37 hunter running around with a 37 cat that looked strangly similar to the pic above on this thread. I asked him if that was BT...no answer, then I asked him if he had tamed Broken Tooth recently...no answer once again...jerk. Lol I wish you all luck in finding the ever elusive BT.

My beloved BT(Eldamus) has been my loyal animal companion for a while now. It took me five days to get him but he's worth it. I want to give all you fresh hunters a few tips when hunting for this little bugger. You may have know it by now but I'll refresh it for you.

1. Use a ice trap.
When you see him, first thing is to put the ice trap in front of him so he doesn't slow down your taming pocess plus you won't get killed during the taming.

2. Clear the mobs first.
Best if you get rid of the mobs when you see him. I know you egered to get him as swift as possible but the mobs will jump on you as you tame, hence the taming process will get more difficult and fustrating especially if you get killed in the process.

3. Bring a few friends (PvP servers)
Bring a few friends that can protect you and your taming session. Nothing is worse then a opposing faction spoiling your taming session.

4.Bring food for BT.
Bring a stack of meat and/or fish. once you got him, you need to feed him to make him happy so he won't run away. And don't jam it down. Wait till the feed effect goes away then continue to feed him. Took me three pieces of meat to make him happy when I first got him but he get's hungry too quickly.

5. Fellow hunters
If you see a hunter who been camping first and longer then you do and BT shows up, let them have it reguardless horde/alliance. It's better to have friends and a good reputation then have hitmans after your head and people calling you "ninja".

6. Be prepared for the worse.
Don't expect to get him soon. Expect the long wait for him to show up. So don't get too fustrated about it. It won't be too good for your well being if you broody about it.

I think that's it for now. As I said, took me 5 days to get him, including worse sernario cases like getting ninja from a troll (getting killed), seeing BT killed by a farmer on his 2nd appearance and my camping spot has turn it self into a big faction wars. Neather the less I swallowed my pride as much as I can and after a long break, he appears again, this time just me and him alone. And that's happened on the 5th day.

So if you want a decent pvp pet, BT is a good choice despite the crazy timer. But expected attention when people realised the power of BT. People on the horde side tried to eliminate Eldamus first before me, which shows how BT is a bane to everyone, people get irritated with him in my duels, impresss a few players with his charm and does amuse a few of my guildies with his antics. Anyway that's my two cent.

I've spent several hours scouting for Bt now..
Today when i logged in, I ran straight into him! (16:50 CET)
2 other players were there, a mage and something (about lvl 56) and they asked me if I were going to tame him or not. I responded "Indeed, I've been looking for him for ages..."
So I drop a freeze trap and start taming BT...
Guess what, they killed him, mounted and ran off!

If they were here, I would smack them senseless! >:|

EDIT: Finally!
The spawn time on BT is 7 hours!
I know this as a fact from the story above.
3 hours after BT died (19:50 CET), I scouted the area for 1 hour constantly.
6 hours and 45 mins after BT died (23:35 CET), I started scouting again, and at 23:50 he appeared, excactly 7 hours after his death. I found him twice today, on the northern and western locations in this image. The red circle is where I was scouting from using EE. BT is not stealthed.

One of the most unheard of occurences in all of WoW happened to me today. Last night, I spent three hours trying to find Broken Tooth, to no avail. So today I logged on my level 40 Orc Hunter to transfer some money to a friend. I was running from Uldaman to the mailbox when there she was, ready to be tamed. I wiped out the mobs around her, clearing it off for the taming that was about to come. I laided down my trap and hit the tame button. Broken Tooth charged at me, triggering my trap. To my dismay, I'd laid the wrong trap, not freezing her, but instead, just slowing her down. Not a big deal though. Forty damage every few seconds wasn't a big deal, I would have been able to tame her easy. But then the worst case scenario appeared. A level 60 Human Hunter comes rushing towards me and I threw my head back in dismay. But, instead of attacking me, when I looked back, I saw Broken Tooth frozen by the Alliance Hunter's trap. The Alliance gave me a wave and a bow and then ran off to do whatever he was there for originally. I guess the point to this story is to point out how nice the Alliance Hunter was, and to encourage otehrs to follow this Hunter's example. If you are waiting for Broken Tooth, and there is another there that has been waiting longer, regardless of Alliance or Horde, allow that person to tame Broken Tooth first. If you come on an opposing faction character taming Broken Tooth, don't attack them. Help them if possible. This is a very hard and time consuming mob to tame and to have it swiped away by an opposing faction players is very depressing. Help out on this mob, don't hinder.

Well, This is a funny story. When I turned lvl 40 I was roaming around on my newly aquired mount, ended up going through the blasted lands. Well I ended up getting torn apart by an elite cat there. Wasnt paying attention.. long story in its own. But anyway, I killed it lol. Wasnt even aware that it was Broken Tooth lol. So now I read about the elite cat, and how hes one of the best pets in the game, I could have kicked myself. So I got a lvl 58 guildie to help me look around for him, he stayed with me about 30 minutes, then went to sleep. I stayed for another 2 hours, and I got the guy facing uldaman, on the right side right at the mountain entrance. I was having a lot of fun with his dash attck, til some hordie came along and raped me.

When I resummoned I lost dash, but its ok Won't take too long to lvl him up to 43 like me. But the pet is pretty nice. I def reccommend it, even at a low level that it is.

I stood on the rock at 58,23 checking all the spawns with eagle eye. The third spawn (to the east of that location) is most tricky, because according to the map it goes in a line around the corner so I was trying to check as far around the corner as I could.
After 20 minutes checking, the second I checked on the near side of the corner, he was there.
One happy hunter.

He was at loc approx: 61,27.

best stratigy. i did that for apx 6 hrs but i think i cought it at the wrong time like right when the spawn ended or disaperead or someone got it or killed it, could be anything, then i probroly had to wait for the spawn time or whatever but it works, i got him, all i care about

Can you say I was lucky? Very lucky indeed...I was on this website reading about pets. I currently had The Rake but was looking for something with more attack speed (for them damn casters) and low and behold I came upon the writings of Broken Tooth...So I decided to give it a whirl and try to get him. After reading everyting I was waiting to put in a couple of days worth of work to get him. So I took the fp to Theramore and stabled Rake and headed south. Passed the first location near Uldaman didnt see anything and went to the far west location...Wasnt really paying attention I guess and one of the humanoid npcs started attacking...well when I turned around to counter low and behold guess who was standing on a little hill in front of the Fortress? You guessed it it was BT. So it took me a whole whopping five minutes to get him...(and secondly got first purple drop today too in STV...birthday on Saturday, two early birthday presents from Bliz?)

Well i found him!
Eastern point. Was VERY lucky, a few people were running that way and i knew they would kill him, so i ran and ran and yelled for them to come here (if i had told them why they would have killed broken tooth. I know what people are like!) then almost died taming.

Is it worth it? Im not sure, i wasnt blown away by the speed or the power (21 dmg) but its early days!

So what exactly is the respawn time? I came back from WSG to Badlands to find his corpse *feign death* (to express my sorrow). But i ended up setting my alarm clock for 8 hours later (5:00 in the morning) and I could not find him.

So, after reading up on Broken Tooth, I have been waiting since level 10 to get to tame him. As soon as I hit 37, I hit the Badlands. It took about 15 hours logging in and out and camping his spawn sites before I stumbled on him at the Angorr Fortress area. I popped the trap, barely skimmed a Ridge Stalker and dropped my pet like it was hot. Halfway through taming I get ganked by a priest and a rogue about six or seven levels higher than me. THEN, after repeatedly typing /beg for them to stop, they killed me, and I watched in horror as they proceeded to kill Broken Tooth.

Needless to say I have their names memorized and burned into the back of my eyelids.

Just a thought, to those people who enjoy ganking others... at least wait until after the tame. You might end up making a friend on the opposing faction who can spread good word about you and prevent you from getting owned on a few occassions.

**NOT** an April Fool's Joke... I GOT 'IM! Six thirty this morning, so the respawn time of 8 hours may not necessarily be right. :)

It's starting to look a lot like the respawn time isn't fixed. Maybe the server makes a roll on it after it's killed/tamed, with a minimum and maximum value...

Well I didn't come across broken tooth yet but I stumbled across barnabus so I dumped 1 crappy pet at least. I wanted a good wolf for all around, fast attack speed wasnt needed, didn't decide this until loooong after the slavering worg option so i figured why not. I'll still be hunting for broken tooth though.

Isn't really so much fact , but a fun thing imo:

Dinged 37 last night, went to look at his spawns immediately. Once there (12:10ish) a guy said that he killed the thing 30 mins ago.

I set the clock at 05:40 (someone said 6hr window) but no Broken Tooth there. Went to bed again with the alarm at 07:40ish, if it indeed was a 8hr window. No broken tooth.

Gave up, thinking I'll try tonight/tomorrow morning, and went out to sunbath at on the porch. Woke up around 12 o'clock from a dream where I tamed Broken Tooth - which imo is kinda weird since I _never_ remember my dreams (if I indeed have any) - and thought I'd give it a shot. Wouldn't take more than a few mins anyway.

Logged on and checked the east and west spawn-points, to no avail. EE'd the northern and saw a lv40 war fighting him, with BR at 40%~~ hp.

Whispered him fast as hell, and he started running to me at once, loosing aggro. He then proceeded to kill of the mobs in the vicinity for me, while I went about trying to tame the cat (took me four tries btw, stubborn one :p). <3 those kind of players :)

Btw, someone told me (while I was camping) that he spawns 50% of the times in the nothern area, and 25% each in the other ones. No idea if it's true though.

Total time spent camping ~1hr on and off. Definately worth my time ^^

Oh, one more thing. According to my dps-meter, Broken Tooth out-dpsed my last pet (Moonstalker -_-) Without any skills (bite,claw,frenzy etc). About 3dps over a period of an hour.

Oh2, my spawntime was definately more than 8hrs, but I can't really say if BR had stood there for a couple of hours before the warrior saw him, I really don't think that very likely though. So I'll vote for the "Random Spawn time" proposal.

Well, as a casual player I was fearing the worst in taming BT. Humar wasn't too difficult because of less foot traffic. Badlands has all sorts of traffic so I wasn't too hopeful. Anyhow, two nights ago I decided it was time to tame BT as my own and spent 2 hours checking the 3 spawn locations. No love, but I did tick over to level 40. Anyhow, I picked up a disposable pet to help clear mobs and check an hour during my lunch break and about 90 minutes after work. Still nothing. Then today, I took a late lunch and my hour was almost up and no BT. I ended up chasing down the Elite giant in Badlands to get my tail handed to me (thank you FD) and decided to wander back over to Angor Fortress for one peek before logging. Lo and behold, BT was was walking down from the tree/rock/bone area on the Angor Fortress "ramp" side. My vision narrowed as I quickly abandoned my loyal temp-pet, flipped on AotM, dropped a FT, and shot my CS.

I don't have coordinates but he spawned in front of Angor Fortress by the tree/rock/bone corner of the ramp at 3:00pm on Hyjal.

Got Broken Tooth myself @ 3:10 this morning 9/06/06, Scarlet Crusade server, just before I went to bed. I decided to try for another kitty again in 6 hours, so I set my alarm for 9:00am. I must not have set my alarm correctly because it never went off but, I did wake up by 9:40am, and by 9:45 I had logged in, used Eagle Eye, just as before.. and there he was again!

So now i'm a happy lvl 40 hunter with 2 Broken Tooth kitties at my disposal.

I had my hunter logged on top of the "overlook hill" thingy, so as to have a good view of the 3 spawn points (with Eagle Eye). All I did was log my hunter in every so often, when I thought about it, and knew that -eventually- I'd hit it just right.. and it worked for me. I found him -both- times @ the eastern spawn point, walking along the hillside about halfway up. (he isn't stealthed FYI)

After talking with another player about pets, he suggested I tame Broken Tooth so as soon as I hit 37 I went straight to the Badlands to look for him. Spent a good 5 days tracking him, mind you I don't have a lot of time to be spending hours on end or logging in/out checking for him. Finally he spawned near Maker's Terrace, 6:57AM Akama Server time (1:57AM my time) and I got a blue screen of death on my comp! Logged back in fast as I could but was minutes too late, some other hunter ran up to him and tamed him!

Thanks for heads up on spawn times, now I can -sort of- track when he will spawn next, and hopefully no one else tries to nab him too!

EDIT: Finally! After almost a week of attempting to tame him, tamed him at Maker's Terrace (where I first spotted him) and also ran across the same hunter that snatched him away from me 7 hours earlier (>:|)

After my first encounter with BT I set my alarm for 7:00am to make sure I got there early to scout around, ran around the spawn areas for the next 2.5 hours and when I reached Maker's Terrace I saw something blip onto my map, only to be disappointed by a Ridge Stalker. Frustrated that he hadn't shown up yet (even though I was still 7 hours into respawn time) I started attacking the Ridge Stalker and 2 seconds later BT spawned right in front of me! Quickly put down the Ridge Stalker, dismissed the pet I was using as a filler and tamed BT on the first attempt ^^

I had been hearing about BT..so i said why not?
Had the following day off, so i decided to sit up all night ( less people ) and wait. I camped him for 3 hours. 2 hunters came by. One was horde, but a warlock passin through scared him away. The other hunter was bummed that i was first in line, but he gave me dibs ( the right thing to do ). Went back and forth on that rock checking all 3 spots with eagle eye. Just past 3 hours he poped up. Right as a new hunter was walking into the area. He was in front of the mountain 'wall' ( 54 10 ) . I ran down and tamed him , while his disappearing tiger buddy was attackin me. Healing potion..no traps....easy..and i was 37. JUST VERY BORING!

Also if you haven't picked up prowl, this is a good place to while ur waiting. I brought a throwaway carrion there, dropped him and got a disappearing tiger, then learned prowl and kept him till, i saw BT.

i was there 4.20 am gmt+1 and found broken tooth at the angor fortres and did tame her on my first try he was on the entrence path to the fort
you dont have to be a hifg lvl to tame her i was alone and i'm a lvl 38 nightelf hunter i got lucky on my second time in the badlands

Just found him after a couple hours of hunting...came with new Dash 2 Skill...but soon after it disappered...has this happened to anyone else? oh yeah 1.0 ATK speed rocks

OH YA! Finaly, I got the damn cat this morning.
I have been there from lv37 to lv41 now....XD

The stupid cat has no any ability but Dash 2, so that it can't tank any NPC as I am fighting.=.=

I got him two nights ago and dash2 disappeared the second he got any exp (didn't even have to log out, dismiss him...nothing...the second he got xp it went away. as far as I can tell it doesn't come back on it's own, but I had learned dash 2 from a longtooth in Feathermoon so I wasn't too concerned about it.

I've heard that eventhough Broken Tooth has a fast attack speed, he has a very slow run speed compared to other cats...

Apparently word is getting out quick, cuz i was fighting with a horde 38 hunter for about six hours waiting for BT to spawn. In the end, he pulled BT before me, but everyone is right...he spawns just outside of angor fortress. Guess i'll try again tomorrow...

Well, I tamed BT ages ago, I was a 31 and now I'm a 52 NE hunter. He's been with me the whole time. I must say, he rocks w/ Spirit bond, saved my booty more than once. Not only do casters dislike him in PVP but, if you're seasoned enough to have SB he can help keep you a live just a touch longer.

... Not looking forward to this possible nerfing though...

I am a level 23 Troll Hunter who caught humar after waiting 3 minutes(w00t!) now i want to know that if he is worth it. i hear he has a 1.0 atk speed but i also hear he has "lowered damage" than regular pets. can someone respond?

Just tamed this cat tonight. Tried to tame him 3 times, and finally succeeded with 2 other mobs beating on me. Learned Dash 2 during the first fight, which disappeared off the pet after the first time I resummoned the cat after flying on a griffin.

Anyway, what I was wondering, is if I learn Frenzy will the speed increase faster than 1.0 or is 1.0 the fastest it'll go? Does it go to a 0.7 with the 30% speed increase or is Frenzy a waste of points with this pet?

I was lucky, while the most of the European Realms were offline, i logged on to my Hunter on the Test Realms. He was standing right in the Badlands :)

I am a lev 43 hunter and had given up ever finding him. Last night after doing Uldman i was turning in a qwest and there he was bye the front entrance. I tamed him with the trap trick. now i need to level him back up. So far so good. Lesson from this is don't give up.

I already have a higher lvl Lupos and a tallstrider as well, but on a whim while turning in a quest in Badlands I decided to stable both my other pets just in case I saw BT around. Rode past Uldaman, didn't see him, turned toward Angora Fortress for a second and he was sitting right there. Very easy tame.

I guess my total time spent looking for him was about 1 minute. Another hunter in my guild tamed him easily the exact same way. We both rode through Badlands between 10-11 AM server time.

And as far as his legendary atk speed? It's amazing compared to my other two pets who have a 2.0 atk... BT should be awesome once he's lvled up. Still won't be my primary pet, but definitely should be useful in many situations.

I finally tamed it after 3 hours of camping.

I did 2 attemps; last night and today. Both time I shouted out in the general channel that I was looking for it. Both time players told me where it was and guard him until I arrive. First time it was a level above me so I couldn't tame it. Seconde time, today; I got it.

I saw it in the Hammertoes around 11:00 pm server time. Today

If you look at your big map, at the middle top where the word "ULDAMAN" is, visualize extending the word by two more letters to make "ULDAMANES". He was right where the imaginary letter "S" is, maybe slghtly at the bottom of that letter "S".

Around 3:50 pm server time, on Kirin Tor.

I saw 2-3 Hunters, probably looking for him, but I was the only one who shouted in the general channel that I was looking for it. If it wasn't a level above me yesterday, I would have it twice! So if you to want to tame it; the trick it's to shout it out.

I turned 37 last night and decided to try for BT. I grabbed a throw away pet and ran around for an hour spamming /target Broken Tooth. There was an orc there with a crag coyote for a pet so I figured I had competition for him. Running by the fortress he came up as my target so I abandoned the pet and ran up to him. I read that traps dont work on him so I just started to tame.
About a quarter of the way in I got agro from a ridge stalker and figured the taming would have to wait. All of a sudden both BT and the add were asleep! I had forgotten I was wearing Green Whelp Armor! By the time the sleep effect from the armor was over Broken Tooth was tamed.
I turned around to see the orc there. After he spit on me I just smiled and waved.
Nice little pet, think I'll keep him around for a while since they nerfed Lupos. I was actually wanting to keep both But I guess I'll be looking for another backup pet. Any suggestions?

Not sure what some of these people are talking about. Tamed this guy approximatly 5 minutes ago, 8:35pm EST Dalaran server, took me less then 20 minutes of camping.

He hits so fast, frenzies so fast, does so much damage. Without growl, he's holding aggro over my Master Hunters Bow.

ok guys i just tamed him on Moonrunner server at about 8:38PM right in front of angor fortress mear the bones. my first time finding him or taming him so i was a little scared he was going to knock me down like sin dall :( but he didn't. anyway, my question is i notice on the stats picture up there that his power is 184. after taming mine my power i 124...the same as a ridge stalker. now, i know for a fact that it's broken tooth - had the silver dragon around his portrait and everything. does the boost in power have anything to do with talents? or was it changed with last patch or something?

Broken Tooth is a lvl 37 beast the teaches Dash 2. Dash 2 however requires lvl 40.

Just spend time lvling him to 40 and he'll relearn the skill. :-)

I've never heard of this ability dash... is it really new? Where can you find dash 1? How does it work with the other pet abilities... the pet bar only has room for 4, so if you have cat, are you able to have all 5 ablilites up? Also, whats dive and same questions apply to that? First time i'v heard about both these abilities for pets.

Got him 15 minutes ago (so around 18h25 GMT +1 time) on Bloodfeather (EU) if someone cares (I know at least one guy does, he arrived 2m after I tamed him :)).

To bad I'm level 55, it's going to be a pain to level him. The only reasonable way I see, is to do lots of instances and keep him on passive there.

I'll see how it goes.

Btw, I found him riding around and spamming /target Broken Tooth.

if u want a pet for Pvp, u should wait till lvl 60 and get the bat, otherwise this guy is a waste of time, PvP is only truely good at lvl 60, that is the only reason for a pet such as this, Humar is still the 1337est.

I've got two Broken Tooth's now. One i got at 37, and took him all the way to 60, but it seems most don't know about him or can't tell that he's BT instead of a normal cat, so i went to tame another BT, just to name it "BrokenTooth". First BT i tamed, i found him at the northern most spawn location, just walked down from loch modan, and bam! right there's BT, tamed it, and enjoyed it all the way to 60.

For me, i'm beast mastery primarilly, and put rank10 natural armor on him, my first BT has 5,986 armor, and with beast mastery and furry, he hits at 0.77 attack speed, 90% of the time. Total caster death in pvp, stealth him, walk him up and enrage while stealthed, then BLAM! fast cat hitting you and you can't fear him, works like a charm aginst casters! Not so good on tanks, like they say, and rogues are kind of a pain, if they know what they're doing.

With 5/5 improved mark of the wild (druid buff) he's easily at 6,100 armor, which is pretty insane for a pet.

So I waited for waaay too long in my attempt for BT. I got bored. Instead, I went with a swamp jaguar from swamp of sorrows. They have a 1.2 attack speed. AFAIK they are the ONLY pet with that speed. The only thing better are the 1.0's.

Seriously, is 1.0 worth all of this trouble when a 1.2 is a normal spawn?

i found him near camp kosh... he looks just like mountain lions in south shore... attack speed is !1.0 and his damage is leveling fine... he throws off the casters and i find him great in pvp... i have had him since level 39 and i am level 47 now... i made a macro /target broken tooth and rode around on mount spamming till i nailed him... i got mine way before patch so i had to tame another mob to teach him the dash but well worth it... i thought rake attack speed was only 1.2 though and you can get a swamp jag with that speed... not sure why everyone does not tame this cat... he/now a she :P is awsome... just wish the made a mount to match hehe

Found at Cords: 45,35 on the hill just chilling. Took 3 tries with freeze traps and finally tamed! Beware the agro and PVP in that area. Eats a lot but is fast as hell. I got this at lvl 38.

Just tamed him on Wildhammer. Had give up on it but came back for a quick check and found him in the western spawn spot on my first search. Took me less then 10 minutes. (Go both my mount and broken Tooth on the same day w00t)

I spent less than 30 minutes looking for BT last night. He spawned up near Uld, and it was an easy tame. If it helps anyone, it was around 1800 MST on Medivh.

sweet ass pet! i'm gonna tame him at 60, plus a tank pet (bear/tortoise/scorpid) and i'll have bangalash!

broken tooth for PVP
tank pet for tanking (obviously) and instances

I was in Hillsbrad when I level 60 hunter asked if I wanted to tame BT because I hit 37 and I agreed, so he took me to the badlands and I spent less than 5 min. there before we found him and I tamed him. For me BT is a great cat, so what if he has moderate health and armor, and he doesn't hit as hard as some other pets can do...the only thing that does matter is that when he hits...he hits fast and I have had him in PvP before and he criticaled about 5 times in a row and granted they weren't big critcs like my snow leopard achieves, but he makes up for all he lacks in his 1.0 speed. So I went around Badlands, getting exp. and being ganked ever so often when I started back to where I had tamed him and he was there again...probably about half an hour tops. I can never understand why people say it takes 6-8 hours for a respawn. I fought him and got a nice pair of boots off of him which I proceeded to sell in the AH. Anyway...BT isn't hard to find if and he's a great pet to keep around for PvP. I also found he did well in SM. Well I hope this helped someone.

As odd as this sounds, I'd like to bring this into consideration. Last night, at midnight almost on the dot, Broken Tooth spawned and was promptly captured by a friend hunter, me at her side. Now, this morning at 6am I thought I would catch him myself since no one else would be around, but what struck me as odd was that he wasn't here at the 6 hour mark. However, neither did he appear at 8am. Get this, 7am. Almost on the dot. Maybe just a couple minutes off, but that also could have been me as I was doing a bit of leveling at the time, since I had missed him at 6am. I literally stumbled over him, and I think before it even registered in my mind, I was running on instinct and had already abandoned my ridge stalker and started on him.

Anyway, the point is, what if he's on a 7 hour timer? Or, even more likely, what if the timer for his respawn is a variable, sometime between 6 and 8 hours but not set in stone? They probably knew people would go after him with that speed, and set it up so that he isn't easily predicted. At this point, I'm heading off to bed. I figure I'll get on in another 6 hours and start again, watching for him. I'm betting that its completely random, some time between 6 and 8, so we'll never be able to set him in stone. We'll see.

EDIT: Spawned at 1:45, exactly 6 and a half hours after I tamed him. That pretty much settles it, he's on a 6-8 hour timer, so you can't really place him for certain. Good hunting everyone!

Nor is he stealthed, invisible, concealed or any other keyword you'd probably search for. He's a biggish cat that hangs out in plain sight. So, all you hunters using track hidden to find him can put that away and use track beasts instead. Of course, spamming a /target macro is just as effective, if not moreso.

There is a small spire smack dab in the middle of the three locations he spawns. Sit up there, turn on track beasts and just look at each area with eagle eye. The tracking works within it and you'll be able to see when he spawns.

Unfortunately he's bugged. At 40, he doesn't regain Dash 2 and if you train him, the icon does not appear on his bar. The Dev's told me this is a known problem.

Is there a certain time for BT to spawn? you say 8 hours between, and a lot of you tamed him at 6-8 in the morning.. is it bacuse there are certain times in the day that he spawns?

I got him near the digging site of uldaman. 6:30@stormscale 15/12/05. I stood at 58,23 using eagle eye at the 3 possible spawn spots. Using track beasts it was easy to locate him.

It takes around 8 hours for him to spawn. He doesnt spawn at 6 in the morning for example. Its about when someone tamed/killed him.

The taming was easy i had to kill one wolf before i could tame him with ease. No problems at lvl 40 with 15 second freezing trap.

Hes pursuit speed seems to be quite fast, he could run as fast as my lvl 40 mount without any problems.

This pet is the best against casters with long casttime on there spells (mages, locks) for example.

Ok, here's my "Sad Broken Tooth Story".

I was level 36 (most of the way toward 37)
and decided to give BT a try. I figured I'd
grind a bit in Badlands, then meander around
until I found him.

Well, I walked in, and there he was, staring
RIGHT at me. I was only level 36. So I figured
I'd have to kill 200 coyotes to level, and got down
to it. I got 150 coyotes in, and someone came
in and killed him. ARRGHH!

Still haven't found him again yet. Trying
again (and again and again). I'm on the
Magtheridon server (Lortho).

i did 3 days of search and i just found him!

so i bid goodbye to my disposable pet(i even made him loyalty lvl 6)

i set up my trap and prepared to pull him.. as i hit him with my scorpid sting and taming him.. there a !%@%@#$ horde rouge came and hit me in the back.. i tried to go back as fast as i can but when i came back.. he's %!#$!@# hunter friend came and did the taming! damnit im soooo pissed of right now knowing that he'll spawn for 6 hours? or 8 hours? and i have school so i only have a limit of 5 hrs to try and see him again..

Does a faster attack make up for total DPS i think not, there are alot of reg pets you can tame that do better overall DPS and also have alot more armor, had him compared him to my snow leopard and then dropped him. stats count

I was running into the Badlands from Loch Modan on the way to turn in a quest I had recieved through a share. As I passed Uldaman, BT spawned a foot in front of me. Screw my Gorrila since it was only Loyalty Rank 2 and 45 min old, I abandoned, backed up, set down a Freezing Trap, used Concussive Shot on BT and then used Tame Beast. BT slowly walked into the trap, froze for 10 seconds and by the time he ran up to me to take a bite, he was tamed. I love this game.

Hey got him at the big tree at Angor Fortress (43,34) 2.35am GMT 3.35am Server time. Took 3 goes to tame had to feign death a couple o times as he had a couple of cats around him that were battering into me too. I suppose i should have killed them first but was too exited at seeing him!

I used Eagle eye on top af the pointy rock (57,27) from there yo can see all 3 points, very useful.

EDIT: OK GUYS..... got him again today at the co-ords 61.32 (19.06pm GMT) (20:06pm server time) 16 and a half hours after first tame. so i guess he is on an 8 hour time loop.

used eagle eye again....so i suggest this is the best way to do it.

About to hit 38 and remebered about BRoken Tooth. Decided to swing by and see if I could catch Him. Im on Horde so took me about 1 hour 30 min. to find my way dwon but second I got in Checked all three spawns and found him at western spawn. about 15 minues to find and tame lol. Longer to get there then to find him.

On spawn time He spawned exactly 7 hours later as I was grinding in the badlands

i think this is the best pet ever. It is a rocket. it comes with dash rank 2 and loses it until lvl 40. So i tamed a crag coyote and got bite 5 and dash one to make up for it. His attack speed is amazing, expecially with frenzy. Any mage that moves i ponce on and its done

Hi,i´have brooken tooth too,but as a german player on a german server.
ok,he has attackspeed 1,0 but his attack is lower.
i have the rake since lvl 10 and the dps from rake/tooth is on same lvl the same. he ´s only good for interrupts enemy caster.we on the german server have the prob that he dont have dash2 when he reached lvl 40,ok he has is,but the button is missing,blizz said then he get dash3 the button will be there,now rake/tooth r both lvl 56,but i haven´t tamed a pet too get dash3.we will see if the button returns or not,if not broken tooth is for me not better when the rake,cause i need the dash button for the battlefields :)

PS: it tooks 52 seconds to find him use the aspekt which shows u animals on minimap when u will find him very fast

I was grinding in The Badlands and happened across Broken Tooth outside Angor Fortress. I had my boar Pigger with me so I made a quick run to Thelsamar and Stabled him. When I returned Broken Tooth was still there to the left of the entrance road to the fortress. When I started taming him one of the stealth cats joined in. Being level 37 this wasn't so bad until I finished taming Broken Tooth. My new pet immediately turned on me. So by the time i got some meat in him, he and the other cat had killed me. As I died Broken Tooth walked away. I ran back to my body nervous that something had gone terribly wrong and I that I had lost the cat. When I res'd he was gone (until I noticed that my whistle icon was highlighted). I blew the whistle and there he was. I backed up and hearted back to Ironforge. After I fed him enough Jungle Stew to satisfy him I ran out front to duel a mage friend of mine. I had never won a duel against this level 38 mage before but today was different. We set the rule of no polymorphing (since I will have my Insignia of the Alliance soon). Well Broken Tooth paid off. After a few fights and some fine tuning I was evenly matched with the mage and squeezing out victories. Off to the Battlegrounds I go.

Not really sure about the 8hr spawn, but what I do know is that he spawned at the exact same place (just outside angor fortress) at an exact 12hr interval, approx 1:15 (AM and PM)EDT. Hopefully this helps you hunters so you don't waste your time.

I eventually got him on the slopes of Angor Fortress after 5 days of waiting for him, doing practically nothing else. I started waiting for him when i was lvl 37 and got him at the late stages of lvl 38. He is a great pet, fantastic with casters. I should have got him earlier but a pair of similar level hunters came up to the top of the slope at Angor Fortress where i was camping and asked me to join their group to attack the fortress. I said give me another 10 minutes and i'll help, i'm waiting for Broken Tooth to respawn and they are like 'Oh, who's he?' and i said 'I've been waiting for him for 3 days non-stop'
'Oooh' 'Ahhh' they say. At which point BT spawns directly on top of us. I'm shouting 'Don't kill him, don't kill him'
They killed him and then had the cheek to ask me to help them carry on with their quest, lol. Needless to say, my reply left them in no uncertain terms that i would not be assisting them in the adventures.

I am a Lvl 41 Night Elf and trained him yesterday. As others have stated, you learn Dash 2 fromk him but as soon as he becomes tame (2 unruly) he loses this ability as Dash 2 requires a lvl 40 pet (he is 37). I am trying to decide if he is worth keeping as his DPS seems high (kills fast) but not as high as a lvl 38 Cat my partner was hunting with. I am not exactly sure how quickly he will catch up or what is the best way to go about. I gave up a lvl 40 Crab to tame him that had a much better armor rating and attack power. I just wanted to see what all the talk was about.

As for spauning, I was very lucky and "found" him while hunting the ridge huntress in the area. He tamed on the first try while another was atttacking me and as soon as he trained he killed the other. I will keep for a few days to see how quickly he can lvl.

If anyone one wants his exact stats let me know.

Quick follow up - I abandoned him today after lvl hi up one to 38. I compared him and dueled another lvl 38 cat and the stats were exactly the same. This is a great pet if you train while a 37 or 38 but I did not see the value of dropping my lvl 40 and 41 pets for him - Just a warning. Enjoy

YES! got him finally. He was at the eastern spawn point, up on the north slope of the big plateau. Its not circled on the map here tho, his spawn time is definately 7-8 hours got him on Zenedar at 6am next spawn time will b at 7-8pm GBT for anyone still lookin

Havent thought of a name yet any ideas?

omg...ive been tryin for a good month off and on...i have a 58 priest on the same server...so when i wasnt playin her...i was lookin for BT...i knew around the usual times he would spawn...so i spent a couple days just poppin on and off...oftehn...i would get on right after someone either tamed or killed...i got all the way to 39 from 37...grindin and lookin for this guy...my gf hates this game so i didnt have much time to look...its funny she made me get off while i was lookin for him...i snuck back on a lil later...ran around...did a couple of eagle eyes...tab in...tab out...just so she would catch me...the one she happened to catch me...was when i EE'd over near the pillar...sure enough i saw him...huge cat...didnt know he was so big...any way i got out of EE...AoC...on the way i abondoned my stupid wolf...layed a freezin trap...start to tame...i guess since i was 2 lvls ahead...the trap worked...i got down to like 4sec...when a stupid ridge stalker hit started to help and hit me out of tame...i almost cried...but i just FD...let the stalker pass...trap...tame...dum dum da dum...got him...i ran round my lil dorm room for a solid min...still havent thought of a name...

got her 15 minutes ago i just stand near the bomes at the gates of agor fortress and she spawns right infront of my eyes

at 2: 45 server time at The venture company server

they say there are 3 spawn areas but i find her right in front of the fortress

at the location 45,35 maybe a little bit right or left but stick to this location and carefull there are 3 cats at prowl near her (they are normal spawns not related with broken tooth)

i just trained broken tooth today, got lucky when i was just searching for mithril deposits. so i tamed him, no problem, but then when i tried to start leveling him, cause i am 60, he didn't gain any xp. the only mobs he would gain xp from were the mobs that i would technically gain xp from if were still gaining xp, so like 52+. I was of the understanding that he should gain xp on his own lvl mobs, like 37-40, so he doesn't get 2 shotted, but this wasn't the case. does he need to be lvl 6 loyalty, or a certain lvl? please if anyone has had this issue with any pet, not just broken tooth, please let me know. i may just end up running instance after instance keeping him passive :X

So I was going to try for Barnabus when I hit 38, just because he's so unique, but a friend convinced me to go for Broken Tooth instead. Since I was close to hitting 37, he helped me grind the last few bubbles, then I went to BT's Angor Fortress spawn point and logged off around 730AM server time. About three hours later I logged back on just to check and found a 60 (a *60*, in epics too boot!) looking for him too. I ran over to his NE spawn point, found him (nearly wet myself in the process XD), and JUST as I got in range, the freaking 60 started taming him! I should have tried to kite him away. Ugh.

10 bucks says the 60 gets sick of trying to level him and either stables him permanently or abandons him. Am camping the spawn points again.

Edit: I went back to my lookout point about six hours after the 60 stole him and waited. Exactly eight hours after he was tamed the first time, he spawned again in the same place he was before, so I can verify the eight hour respawn time. This time there was nobody around to steal him, and I got him easy. Woot!

found him right beside uldaman on the top of the hill. only searchtime was 1.43 h.....^^ i´m a little dissapointet that broken tooth looks like the lions in southshore but after the time it´s my fav pet. got a black panther on 39 and a bat on 27.

Yeah, my tactic for getting BT was rather simple, i went to the dwarves on the hill near the dig site and logged off there. I then came back on every hour and ran around the 3 BT areas, returned to that place and logged out, took me a few hours but i found him in the end without too much hassle.

Now, BT's dps may be the same as a normal tiger but his HP is higher (better than my level 37 bear with +2% health) and his armour is slightly higher as well. Also he completely disables casters which is great, the mages geat wasted just TRYING to poly him.

Oh and dash 1 is found from normal stranglethorn tigers. It increases your pet's movement speed by 40%. Now if you go into beast mastery you get +30% movement speed. So you can take down mounts if you have dash 1 and beast mastery. Now if you have dash 3 and beast mastery you can take down EPIC mounts, 80%+30%=110% speed.

Dive is dash for flying creatures so don't worry about it, no one uses flying creatures

You can have your 5 ability max

Read a trhread on pets, came here to ccheck out this mobs loc and this thread. Yesterday I went and did an afternoon run in BL. There he was! Not too far from Uld. I tamed him, and then got dash 2 from him. I am now in the process of levelling him up for my new BG pet. Wow, a 1.0 attack speed! This cat rocks! Can't wait to see what it is like at level.

I got him tommorow at night at Thunderhorn s. I was waiting for him about 5 hours. First I came to look for him at 4 pm, at 4:30 other hunter wisp. me that he had just tamed him:) So I wanted to go back at 00:30 am (8 hour respawn), but I wasnt sure about that respawn time, so I kept wandering in the area for whole evening to find him at 11:45 South from Camp Kosh:)). He was very tamable:), I am lvl 38 and had no problem to tame him. Unfortunatly at the same time I tamed him we were attacked from 3 buzzards, hehe .. we killed the first one and than decided to run away, than feign death, I was sad I had no time to learn Dash 2 from him. But he did use when we was trying to escape:) as I noticed later on:).

Just stood on that one small rock in the center of the 3 spots (south of the Uldaman spawn). Just stand up there and Eagle Eye on each spawn until you find BT. Just did that now and it worked like a charm. Gave a quick test and sweet jesus on a pony she is a fast attacker. 1.0 you ain't kiddin.

Found him at high noon, server time at the middle location. As i was taming him another hunter runs up and says "damnit", it was classic. He has been respawning every 6 hours on the Kazgoroth server 6, noon, 6, and midnight.

I just lvled to 37 and i was wanting to get BT for my pet. I've only been looking for half an hour or so but I was jsut wondering if anyone could tell me his spawn times. It would be very helpful :D

Just got him on Balnazzar, at 08:16 AM.
I was only looking for a pet with prowl 1, when I suddelny saw him, just standing there, waiting to be tamed by me. Twas like magic, all other mobs just scattered, WANTING me to tame him lol.

He's just plain insane in the membrane, the attack speed is, what can I say, wonderful!

was just passing thru to find the big huge red elite carrion bird and so happened to see him.so i got off my mount took a pic and killed him.didnt a terrible green.not sure what it was now tho.here is a pic of it.

Yep, he exists and does have a 1.0 attack speed. Same run speed as The Rake. Looks like a normal cougar, and is not stealthed. Spawn is like 8-9 hours, maybe.

Found him last night 1:00 - 1:30 am EST. Sat on the hill & eagle eyed the 3 spawn points & low & behold there he was at the eastern spawn point towards the Ogre camp on the hill on the righthand side. Tamed him with no problem other than a few other cats attacking me. Might name him Bustedgrill. :P

got him about 7.00 game time eu server
after about an hour he lost his dash 2 and i tried to retrain him but says that the pet needs to be lvl 40 (w00t) appart from that he is awsome

Tamed him this morning on Dark Iron, about 8 AM server time. He was at the eastern spawn point, up on the north slop of the big plateau.

Freeze trap tamed him. Got 4 other mobs on me while taming him. Then he broke trap, and so I had 5 mobs on me. I tamed him about 1 second before the other mobs killed me. Those gankers. But, I got my new cat, so I'm happy.

Ok tamed him 5 min ago and its speed is simply awesome, worth the wait i'm thinking this is my end game pvp/bg pet, just think of the name and im done ^^

EDIT: Just tamed her. I stood on the pillar north of the Dark Iron mining camp and Eagle Eyed with Track Beasts on. I checked the minimap and ''Broken Tooth'' popped up. (I was looking at the hill on the slope below Angerforge Fortress) I canceled Eagle Eye, AotC'd and ran. Then I realized I had a placeholder pet I had to resurrect and release. So I did that and ran closer. I saw her, big and unstealthed. I placed a Freezing Trap and bodypulled (ran close to her) and walked backwards. She resisted the trap but I started taming anyway. A druid came up and said congratulations. It worked on the first try. 1.0 attack speed and Dash (rank 1, I'm 39) I taught her Growl and stuffs, so I'm going to play with her now. She was standing at the peak on the middle of the slope outside Angeforge Fortress, don't know the location, and had to start autorunning if I wanted to take a screenshot (stupid keyboard >.>) Oh and she spawned at 17:55 or maybe 18:00 servertime, don't know exactly :)

I hope this helps all you other hunters!

I was lucky, i was just in the area when i saw him outside Anger Fortress. There was another hunter i spotted near the NPC's to the east, she was 38 so i knew she would be looking for him. First time i pulled him, 2 stealthed adds came with him too. Second time i pulled him he resisted my trap and then he resisted my tame pet. Third time lucky i pulled him, an add came and landed in my trap.

When he was mine, he was HUGE, still had the star round him, AND his name too. He then shrank to about 1/3 his real size :(

Glad i got him though, and didnt have to wait till 60. I remember getting Humar at 35, and 16>35 took ages.

Got him this morning about 9:15am just outside the Angor Fortress near the bones to the left of the entrance. Spotted him with Eagle Eye from a small short peak in the valley at the north entrance to the Badlands. That peak is handy because mobs won't bother you there, its easy to climb, and you can EE the three main spawn points for Broken Tooth.

I had just gotten to lvl 37 (Night Elf Hunter) and camped there for an hour or two last night but didn't see him. This morning I went to check and got sidetracked helping another player. When I got there I checked all three spots and he turned up after about 5 minutes at the entrance to the fortress.

I hurried over, avoiding other mobs. On the way I passed the lvl 39 rogue I had helped earlier, so I whisper'd him to watch my back. Set my freeze trap and began taming. Just as Broken Tooth froze another mob cat de-stealthed and started hitting me, but just that one, so it was no big deal. Near the end of taming the rogue popped up and whacked that mob. Broken Tooth took to the training on the first try. Fed him and left the Badlands to do a little hunting.

Definitely a noticeable difference with the attack speed and the Dash skill is very cool as well. Spent about half an hour grinding and feeding to get him to loyalty level 2 so I could train him on Growl and Claw. I think this one will definitely be worth it.

hahaha, i've been camping for BT ever since i reached 37, i was camping for at least 3 days, logging in and out and killing random mobs. When i finally decided to give up i ran back to loch modan to get my waldo (humar) and start trying to lvl, after kiling a few buzzards for a quest, i decided to check one more time for BT, and right when i had my pet there he was! just walking around in the eastern most spawn point, but then as i saw, a lvl 44 troll hunter was there killing ogres in camp kosh, so i ran like hell back to loch stabled my pet and ran back hoping BT was stil there, and there he was! as i turned to check the troll was still killing ogres so i hurriedly tamed him, and right after the tame was done the troll's right before me just standing there and checking out BT lol. sucks, he was right there and he never knew BT spawned. if it helps, i tamed him around 2:45

he's a great pet, holds aggro well, but sucks against tanks. kicks ass against casters though lol.

I tamed him after patch went into effect...he is now lvl 42...when is he gonna get Dash 2 back? I have sent a letter to GM but so far no answer.

on a whim, i just figured i'd give BT a shot to see spirit bond (i'm BM specced now) in its full +779 HP healing glory.

i stopped by around midnight PDT w/o luck... went and grinded a bit in tanaris for scorpid scales and cooking quest action... and returned to badlands around 2am. at first, no luck. i stood around chatting with guildies and whatnot and just as i was about to run off and log... i made one last pass with eagle eye and there it was... BT hanging out by angor fortress. mount up... and run as fast as the big kitty would allow.

taming was easy... freezing/monkey/tame... just as i finished, of course the dwarf patrol comes down the hill from angor and begins to beat on me. petless, i would have been toast, and i thought i had the tame interrupted right at the last second by the incoming dwarves... but lo and behold there was brand new BT goin' at it with the dwarves. whee! i had just FD to break loose from the dwarves, and was going to just run for it, but watching BT wailing away at three dwarves while unhappy seemed wrong. so... up goes spirit bond... and a multi-shot to peel 1 or 2 of the mobs off... the rest (dwarves included) was history. :)

made for a fun time before i hearthed home, anyhow.

those on gilneas, until a reset... the BT ticker is pretty much at 2am PDT (GMT -7) as one set point if you are looking...

Tamed BT last Friday around 12 noon est. Looked for her for 3 days on and off. I was lvl 38 with no trouble taming, but did have 3 Stalker adds on me one during taming and 2 right after. Not sure why 3 since I never moved from the spot I got BT from ehh.
I found BT right where filoandstitch did. Heading up the slope to Angor fortress right by the fallen pillar.
Im lvl 40 now and love the cat. Will be my main for long time.
At lvl 39 the stats on cat:
1574 health
1850 armor
24-33 dam. 1.00 attack speed
growl/bite/claw
I named it Brokentooth :) didnt think it would let me but It did, figured I make peeps look twice.

His attack is a little weaker then KB, this is true, but little means little, and his attack is the fastest in the game. Worth it? i'd say so. mages just love my 60 Brokentooth :)(I have 60 KB to, but hardly ever use him)

Walking south from the Loch, I enter Badlands. Walk past Uldaman and through the small,short valley between the two hills.

I stopped to check my map with the one on this site.

I say, "Ok this is the spot where is he?". I look left, Bam! there is a Lion and I'm like hmmm must be the local wild life ( I don't come to badlands much ). So I run my curser over it to check level, and w00t Broken Tooth! I target and run toward him, set freeze trap and begin tame. He denies me on my 1st try and so I start again ( half life, damn he hits fast ). This time I get him and I'm happy as can be, without so much as a thought I name him, "Ace" for hs 1.0 atk speed.

4 hours later, he is my best friend and he goes every where with me. He will be the Cat I take to lvl 60. Humar is not a stable warmer.

After 2 days of random checking I finally got him! At 4:11AM on the Deathwing server, I found him in front of Angor Fortress at 44,36. Easy to tame if you stand right in front of the fortress, no aggro.

He is fast! Hyglak lv 37 Hunter.

I tamed Broken Tooth with my Troll at 43. I had camped the area for a total of 3 hours or so. That was 3 sessions of about an hour each. I used EE but I wasn't successful so I ran around spamming my target macro. I was going to log off from my 3rd session after checking the middle spawn area when he appeared. I was spamming my macro so I knew he was within attack range. He was on the right up the hill. I was halfway between the middle spawn area and the east spawn area. I got so excited I forgot to use freeze trap. I tamed him on 1st try. I'm 47 now and he's 45. I don't worry about him not being a tank. I have a gorilla and a wolf too. The wolf has an AS of 1.3 so I can pick and choose according to the mobs I'm fighting. The ape hits like a truck while BT jabs like a fiend. If you don't mind spending the time and energy I recommend BT. I don't have prowl and probably never will but dash is working for me right now.

For me the hardest time was getting to the Badlands. DUH, I tried from the south by going from SV then winding up in Burning Steppes. I couldn't get past the mountains. I died 5 times. I finally tried Loch Modan by going SE instead of SW where the gate to Searing Gorge is. I guess everyone else had no problem getting to the Badlands. So flame away. Good luck to anyone who wants to tame BT.

ok guys i got him again, i was running through the badlands and decided to use eagle eye on the pointy rock and there he was at the tree at Angor Fortress.

Well I read about Humar on here and WowWiki.com and decided to give him a shot so I camped on him for what seemed like forever. I was running around killing things only getting leather from the bodys and no XP. Finally 5 hours later, he spawned. I leveled him to 25 and decided to call it a night. 20 minutes later I said what the heck (its early and no one is on), I'll go to the Badlands and atleast learn stalk. So in a hurry I get there with only 2 healing potions and low and behold after scouting from the rock...there was Broken Tooth at the far eastern spawn! I died from aggro between the stalkers and vultures about 7 times before I finally snagged him, but so far it was well worth it! I cant believe the luck I had with him. After Humar I thought for sure it would take me a few days, but nope! I got both rares in a matter of 6 hours TOTAL!

I am on Perenolde btw and I got Humar at about 5am Central and BT at about 6am Central (give or take a few minutes). I am so stoked..and still shaking (I just hit 37 at midnight)

Just found BT at 443pm est Server Time Jaedenar Realm, He spawned right near the flat rock at the right spawn. I was running around spamming my /target Broken tooth macro, i go to one camp, stay for 10 minutes, move to the next.
Based on all the information ive read about BT he outta spawn around 1145pm-1am at angor fortress. When i saw him i laid an ice trap, concussion shotted, turned off auto shot, tamed him, hit ice trap, kept taming, took 0 dmg.

BT is amazing btw, takes a long time to lvl and gain loyalty but is well worth it.

I attack a 43 warlock, first thing he did was try to cast fear, he was dead, never got the fear off.

Just so everyone knows, I got Broken Tooth the other night. Yes he has the 1.0ATK Speed, which will be awesome in PVP. Goin to suck lvling him, I am lvl 60 hehe. Anyway, A friend of mine has Humar, and 2 nights ago we were comparing. Both pets are lvl 38, Humar's ATK speed is 1.3. We did the dps comparision and they are exactly the same. I also have King B as a pet so if I can grind it out, will be interesting to see if there dps is the same. If anyone know, it would be awesome to know now if there dps and stats match up at the same lvl.

I've had Brokentooth as my main BG pet for nearly 2 months now, and works awesomely especially nasty with bestial wrath, a cloth wearers nightmare pet.

It took two tries to charm him. I was so excited to see him I forgot to use my Freezing Trap. lol

One bit of advice I'll offer is clear out the surrounding mobs before you move in on him. I was 1/2 way through charming him on the first try when a stalker appeared and started attacking me, ruining the attempt. >_<

After a glitch with WoW made my pet suddenly disapeer (Went into WSG and my pet got deleted...still not sure how GM says "too bad") I decide WTH ill make my way down to Badlands and check it out. Riding to his second spawn point (eastern) im waving my cursor over the map and i see him...i almost fell off my chair..plop down ice trap start to tame and by the end aggro 2 birds and get killed by an ally...but i got him! No camping involved xD

ahh, i just found him/her on the wildhammer server 10:34 pm server time. had to kill him/her cause i went there thinking that id lvl and then go tame. but i didnt lvl and i killed him/her. i almost felt bad for the other lvl 37 hunter in the area : ))))

I just tamed him, was very lucky though. Logged out near Fortress and just came back on after an hour to check if an auction had sold. Went for a bit of a run round before HSing back to Og and saw him! First attempt failed and I pulled three other cats by mistake, just as I got away from them I saw an allie NElf hunter (I'm Horde and was 9 levels lower) looking at Broken Tooth, but he pulled all the cats away while I tamed Broken Tooth, got him :D So thank you Mavra of Talnivarr (EU).

If you're thinking about taming him, its well worth it, I'm off to re-talent in Beast Mastery now ;o)

SPAWN LOCATIONS
57,18 The Northern spawn is just south of the makers terrace. Pass through the section that narrows, and take a left.
43,34 The southern spawn is near Angor fortress, by the bones/stones/tree on that hill.
62,30 The Eastern spawn is past the Koch ogre camp near that little rock with a couple stealthed cats on it.

EAGLE EYE POSITION
57,25 Use this spot to find him using Eagle Eye. Basically its that little rock that juts out in between all three. hop up there, use aspect of the beast if youre on a PVP server, and EE yourself into oblivion.

The 6 or 8 hour spawn time is under debate. Some have found him with exactly 6, others at 8. Its best to check back at the 6 mark just in case, if you are unsure.

Broken Tooth is not stealthed, from what I have heard. This is good to know, as it is difficult to run around looking for a stealthed cat, especially when using Eagle Eye.

BT has a 1.0 attack speed; the fastest in the game. When frenzied, this becomes .77. He is great against casters, but lacks against tanks.

Just tamed BT after about 10 minutes of looking for it, needless to say i think i got pretty lucky. I found him on the right of the three areas shown on the map hanging out on a hill. Going to suck lvling it though =p

Well just tamed BT after logging in every half hour for just 4 times. He spawned around the eastern part of the 3 known locations.

I saw the Dash 2 and I just clicked it till I learned it before doing anything else. I was lvl 37 and so was he. Dash 2 poofed right after I died and resummoned it, but it was in my to learn list by then so no problem really.

First, Broken Tooth DOES NOT STEALTH. I could have saved a lot of wasted effort if I hadn't been under this misguided notion for most of my search. Second, he has no spots. Third, no broken tooth. It's just a name. Once I knew he didn't stealth, I'd just log on with this toon, run a lap with beast track on, and log off. Found him on the third run (about 8am, so that probably helped).

Dinged 37 last night in Desolace around 11:45 pm EST / 8:45 pm server time. Immediately hearthed to IF and caught a griff to Thesalmar. Cheetah'd out to the hill loc at 50,24 and began scoping three spawn points for Broken Tooth.

Don't spot her but hope that maybe she'll come at midnight. But midnight comes, no Tooth. A couple of other 37 and 38 alliance hunters are about as well running from spawn point to spawn point, but I keep Eagle Eyeing from my stationary point in the middle hoping she'll spawn where they are not.

1 am comes and still no Tooth. A little later one of the hunter's travelling companions tries to tell me that their hunter just tamed her. I'm not the least fooled cause Tooth isn't at any of the three locs nor is the hunter currently. They sheepishly admit that they were just kidding.

2 am and 2:15 am and still no tooth, so I decide to use my standard procedure with things like this and that is logon in the early morning hours when no one has been on for awhile. So come back on around 9:30am EST / 6:30 server time.

Eagle eye by Camp Kosh, nothing. Eagle Eye by Uldaman, nothing. Eagle Eye Angor Fortress -- wa-la, there she is sitting pretty as the morning on the slope of the hill leading to the fortress. I immediately cheetah out to her and begin the tame. About 1/3 of the way through, a stealthed ridge stalker adds and about 3/4 of the way through, a dwarf on patrol from the fortress adds. Finish the tame and immediately feign. Dwarf leaves but Broken Tooth (now just "Cat") is attacking the ridge stalker. Unfeign, help Tooth with the cat, do my night elf dance, and immediately hearth to IF.

Tooth is a grey elite icon rare spawn -- no tougher to kill / tame then most mobs of the same level -- just rarer to spawn and a better loot table -- not that we hunters really care about this particular cat's loot table. ("Well, I was gonna tame her, but then I saw those green boots and . . .") :-D Anyway, had no issue taming her as a lvl 37 hunter even with the add issues.

I had to log right after to head out for the day but once she gains some loyalty levels and I train her up on Bites, Claws, Growls, and Dashes, I'm sure that I will be happy with the time spent getting her. Good news is we are both 37, so no level catch-up to do.

Renamed her "Twitch" as I hope that's what casters will be doing instead of casting. That and now we are Filo and Twitch (a nod to the cartoon characters Lilo and Stitch) and my daughter will appreciate that.

I just got BT i found him at the eastern spawn point. which according to most of the posts appears to be the rarest spot. im 42 and took 3 tries and had to run twice due to 3 adds. freesing trap workd great. I used him in AB today and owned every caster in there. best pet i have had for PVP ( i also have a lvl 41 longtooth runner, and lvl 42 ironfur bear)however pursuit speed seems a bit slower thatn expected. wolf i have is faster. hmmmmm

I just tamed Broken Tooth on Kargath server!

So I walked into Badlands thinking that he wasn't ognna be there. Then I turn the corner and BAM! there he is! I laid down a frost trap, and started taming. I got one add, but BT easily finished him off.

The point of having a rare mob for a pet is that often times their stats are different. Broken Tooth, as an example has an attack speed of 1.0 . That's what makes him rare. And he doesn't really look exactly the other cats, he's different looking.

I tamed him a few weeks ago after a few weeks and about 12 hours of total time spent looking. I won't go into the huge story over taming him, but I'll say that it was on Proudmore at about 8:45PM Pacific time when he spawned.

After the Hunterpatch he fall in Rage every third hit ^^. He slayed a mage at the same lvl without m ^^

I also found Broken Tooth on Burning Blade at the exact same location! 12:00am Feb 15th Server Time she just appeared! I did spend about 15 mins just killing every mob I could find before that though. Caught her with my primary Alt on the server, a Level 37 NE Hunter "Xandros".

I was standing on that perch near the ULD back door checking out the three locations while talking on the phone. I almost fell over when I saw her! I ran up, popped on Imp. Aspect of the Monkey, then was promptly ambushed by 3 stealthed mobs. Coming from the right was a no-go. I tried running around to the other side but pulled aggro from two more cats AND Tooth. Finally I lost aggro from running (feign was on cooldown). I came back, tried to tame but again pulled aggro from a stealth. Somehow I was still not dead, so I tried coming in from the left, after the stealth cats all fanned out (remember, they move slowly stealthed) and I stayed as high up on the mountain as I could, put down frost trap and started taming, this time I only got aggro from BT. I got about 2/3rds of the way tamed before she busted out of the ice and I realized I was at half bar. I did end up taming her before I died, no doubt due to imp. aspect of the monkey lol. It might not be the greatest talent but in situations like this, time and again, it has saved my life heh. Woot I got her! =))

I think something needs to be cleared up for some people.

This is not the ultimate, all-purpose attack cat. It isn't pretty to look at, it has moderate armour/health, and it does not hit hard. What it does is hit *fast*, and that screws up casters. Fatally. I'm at level 51 now and I attacked a 60 mage last night (with my BT.) Got him down to a little under 20% health before he finished me off. Try doing that with any other pet.

This is not a pet for tanking against tough mobs, like elites, and if you try to use it against a tank like a warrior or a rogue, be prepared to work b/c the BT is *not* going to win the fight for you.

Just so people know what to expect before they spend time trying to get one... ^_^

Btw, teach him Prowl and you'll have a blast setting up ambushes just about anywhere you please. My fav spot for this is the Quel'Danil lodge in the Hinterlands. If you're feeling especially cruel, wait 'til they've freed the npc and then send the BT to kill it before they reach the road. lol

He is usually there early morning (7 - 10 am game time) or mid evening... and is laying down in the shade ot the big tree. After killing a few of his pride, he's an easy tame at lv 35 - on... Enjoy your unique pet - i got him at lv 60 and brought him up from 37 - 60 while killing in Tanaris with him (orgres SW of Gadget) - he came up rather fast and enjoys all the skill points there was to offer (dont kill him up until he reaches lv 60 for items such as frost- fire etc...) - enjoy and give him dash

Ive been having the rottenest luck with BT, started camping her 2 days ago. Seen her up the first day. But someone else got her before i did. Been doin nothing but sittin on that rock everyone says to sit on to see both spawn points. set my alarm for 3am hoping that mabey she would be there then but wasnt. just spent 45 mins. running between both spawn points before server shut down and nothing. i feel like im beating a dead horse with BT now

i found this cat easily on a normal server Silvermoon. I killed this cat so easily and u only took off like 15% health, i was a lvl 36 human warrior with the whirlwind axe+5 dmge

I was in the BL for all of 3 minutes when I found him on the slope in front of Angor Fortress. Great for now, but rumor has it a nerf will be implemented next patch. :(

I got him last night on Shadowsong Server, at 2am after spending five hours in the same general area. Found him SW of Camp Kosh... had to deal with a Buzzard at the same time but no biggy. Tamed him easy enough (Lvl 38) and he helped killed the bird rather quickly.

Had Dash2 but lost it when I logged out. Yet I was expecting that anyways so no big loss. Takes a lot of food to make him happy in the first place but once you got him green, it only usually takes one food to make him happy again.

So if Blizz actually come through on their promise of pet customisation, Broken Tooth will be pretty tough to be beat once tooled up properly.

Can't wait to tear the Casters into little piceces now.

Can anyone high level that has this cat post his DPS ans armor pl?
I am level 58 and that 1.0 attack speed is realy taunting me to go taim him, but I won't if his DPS sucks.

And as many willl say fast attack speed = more DPS this in terms of math is true but blizzard has borked this formula on the carrion bird called Spiteflayer, his attack was 1.2 and yet his DPS was the same as any other bird ( attack 2.0 ) his level that I tried go figer!

I tamed BT 10 minutes ago - lvl 40 Hunter - went into Badlands, checked out around Fort Agnor, or wateva its called, and couldnt find him, thought i'd look further north and he was in the area where you come in, just past Uldaman entrance! I'd checked here just before so he may have spawned at around 8.30 UK time (Summer time). He looks very cool and I have named him Muffy. You do lose the Dash when he becomes more faithful but the hunter should learn it from him in 1 fight - so when he hits 40 he can learn it! Hope this helps.

Thought I would put in my experience as well: I logged-on during a fairly busy time and had no luck finding him-prolly got whacked for loot or whatever. I logged out and then back in at about 0200hrs and hung around forever-still nothing. Parked myself right by the tree near the fort and fell asleep-woke up just in time to see him come sauntering down the hill! Threw down an ice-trap for him and kept him frozen while I killed the THREE stealthed cats that picked this particular time to jump me, then tamed him on the first try. His new name? DieCasterDie. heh heh

Yeah, He is a good pet for a hunter, he is immune to poison... and it seems it is immune to Gouge from rogues... so probably 1 of the best pets you can get for PvP.

Found broken tooth at the left most spawn point, had just ding'd 40 NE Hunter and thought what the heck will take a look.

There he was, Freeze trapped and tamed. Quickest tame i have ever had of him.

With my lvl 40 orc hunter it took me about 2 weeks to find and tame him.

had to break the news as i was running out to another NE Hunter that i had just snagged him that second ;)

When I went hunting for Snarler, I found him the first day, twice. Today, I went hunting for this little kitty and found him within about 20 minutes. I almost had to pummel a warrior to tame him before he was killed, but the warrior was being ganked at the time, so it's all good. The 1.0 attack speed is nice with Spirit Bond.

But, then again, I have NEVER seen Humar. Hmmmm... Selective luck.

Got him @ 7:27am after a solid hour of killing any Ridge Stalker that moved.

Unfortunately he doesn't come with any skills at all. Not even Claw. :(

I got him early this morning when I logged in. He was walking around right below me. Mine had Dash rank 2 until I flew back to Iron Forge, then it was gone. Oh well, in a couple of levels! He hits so fast. I just wish he looked more original.

I just read all the post (quit borroing) but i was wandering is it worth taming him?

1) I know the speed is sick for pvp but im not specced in beast or w/e its called

2) Ive heard many talks about the Dash 2 disappearing then reappearing ... what is the truth about that? Does it really come back at lvl 40

3) is he THAT hard to tame? i hear some people it takes an hour and some it doesn't...

4) he has fast speed but does he take damage well? i had a spider that got punked around by stuff 2 lvls below it ...

5) does broken tooth have a big ... nvm forget about #4

Granted his physical dmg is lower than that of a cat with a 1.3 or so speed. But the Damage Over Time is the same. What makes this pet so valuable (in pvp epecially) is the constant barrage of hits on the casters to slow their casting.

I just got Broken Tooth about 20 minutes ago. I did what some people have said and stand on the large rock just north of the castle and use the eagle eye. and sure enough I found him at the northern most point just east of Uldaman. Then not more than 5 minutes later i got kicked. so i look forward to lvling him when I am able to logon again.

My level 45 Troll Hunter just now trained Broken Tooth and I am very pleased. I am able to witness the 1.0 attack speed first hand ... bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, once every second.

I want to describe to you the exact location I found him for those of you that do not use UI coordinate aids, or even if you do. He was at the northern spawn loacation for me on the hill slope very near an iron deposit spawn location.

If you look at your big map, at the middle top where the word "ULDAMAN" is, visualize extending the word by two more letters to make "ULDAMANES". He was right where the imaginary letter "S" is, maybe slghtly at the bottom of that letter "S".

The iron deposit may or may not be there, but it was for me. If you are a miner, you may know about this iron deposit I am talking about.

He was not stealthed, as is mentioned in this post. He was very easy to train at level 45, especially if you clear out the nearby mobs, so I imagine he would not be very difficult to train at somewhere around his level, 37. I used the freezing trap trick and got him on my second attempt.

He will be my anti-caster pet, not just for PVP, but for any situation where I know in advance I will be dealing with enemy mages, priests, shaman, or the like. I also have a lvl 42 bear (Bjarn) who has high health and stands up well against casters, but he can't hit once every second like this cat can. I will continue to use my bear for most of my solo activity, but now I have this cat for specific situations.

If you really want this cat ... don't give up ... you will find him if you remain persistant. I spent about an hour looking for him and felt like giving up. I am glad I didn't give up that easily.

The 1.9 patch nerfed BT's pursuit speed. I've had him for 15 levels and now he's 60 with me. I never used dash before (opted to have prowl instead), and now I'm going to have to retrain him. BOO. It's a very obvious difference.

Last night I was headed for Ulda with a group when I found him in Badlands/ I am lvl 49 atm and was contemplating lvl him for PVP. I was stupid enough to say out loud in Group chat that I saw BT.

The ass asked me where and b4 I told him I ask him if he was gonna kill it. He said "no" so i said "up north, I gonna go tame him". He stands there for a few secs and says he's going to get his hunter. I again said i am going to tame him let me stable my pet near the grif drop off. Not 2 sec later he attacks it.

I am freaking pissed. His reply was I asked why u kill it when i said I was gonna tame it was he drops something.

Found him yesterday morning at 6:55 AM EST on Cenarion Circle at coordinates 61.2,30.5. he has a unique palette, with some sort of dark patch on his upper back and does indeed have the 1.0 attack speed. He didn't come with anything learned when I tamed him, but gained 2 loyalty levels in a matter of hours.

got this guy after 4 mins of camping OMG this is the best pet i have ever seen O_O DASH Rank 2 ! i tested it and you can chase a mout Lv 40 with it! happy hunting~_^

Yep. Also found him just outside the Uldaman back entrance last night.
Tamed at first attempt, even without the freeze trap trick. I had laid a trap out for BT but a dumb ridge stalker accidently wandering into it and got caught up in the trap. lol
Luckily was already half way thru taming BT before the ridge stalker broke free and started attacking. It was a bit hairy for a bit but once tamed, BT took out the ridge stalker. :D
Still has 1.0 atk speed and comes with dash 2

When you guys are using eagle eye, are you tracking beasts or hidden? Is Broken Tooth a hidden cat or does he just hang out in the open and get slaughtered everytime someone walks by? Been looking for this cat for 6 days so far and never seen him.

I had been searching for BT for like 3 days with no luck. I was getting more and more frustrated all the time, I got ganked by alliance like 20 times while looking for her.

Finally, after spending like 8 hours alltogether, I logged in today around 14.00(server time) and walked over to the eastern spawnpoint near the ogre camp. Checked my minimap, and by surprise there she was standing right next to me on a steep hill. I didn't see any other beasts, so I quickly abandoned my cat. Well after 2 days and one failed attempt thanks to a friendly Horde Rogue ganking me i finally got BT last night at 22:30 AWST on the Jubei'Thos server. Originally he spawned around 16:30 AWST and while taming i got ganked and then got too watch him get killed from spirit form, but i logged on every couple of hours after that and checked and finally 6 hours later at 22:30 he respawned so it looks like around 6 hrs is the respawn time not 8 as some have suggested. He spawned both times in front of the Angor Fortress.

Im lvl 37 so BT will be leveling up in sync with me which is good. As soon as i got him i hearthed to Southshore where luck would have it the horde were raiding. BT was awesome, i took down several casters 5 or 6 levels above me thanks to my new pets awesome attack speed.

Ive named him Balor who was the Celtic God of the Evil Eye and is supposed to be pretty handy on a battlefield.

On another note Infrared is absolutely right, the spot 50,24 is absolute rubbish for using eagle eye to spot BT. 57,25 is much better spot and gives a clearer view of all 3 spawn sites

Edit: Also i didnt notice he needed anymore food than normal to improve his happiness.. 3 wild hog shanks after taming and he was at happy. Maybe he just likes me more than everyone else :)

OMG i got him at lvl 42 HE OWNS. he is like a 16 hour spawn. HE has 1.00 attack speed. He owns a caster i was lvl 43(i lvled him to 43 and i lvl up too :P)and i dueled a lvl 50 mage i completly killed him with BT attackin him and me using ranged. Took him 10seconds to get off like a 1.5 second spell. LOL casters BEWARE!

I logged my hunter at 7:45AM to see if he where there but nothing, i camped him for 2.5hrs and then finally when i was about to leave the pc and help my mom out, i used EE one last time and he had just spawned outside Angor Fortress!
Such an awesome pet!

I was told BT was a nice pet by a friend, and King Bangalesh was also nice. I went and got bangalesh because he was easier to find. I was 43 at the time... But then, at level 46, I was on my way tot he back door of uldaman, and guess what mob knocked me off of my mount? Thats right, Broken Tooth. So I deleted Bangalesh, and tamed Broken tooth, which was level 37. I am now level 49, and Broken Tooth is now level 46. No regrets!

I've seen a level 52 Broken Tooth in Jadefire run, Felwood. It was a dead body though /cry! I know I saw somewhere that he does spawn there as well but I'm not sure where I saw that =/

Well, I got BT FINALLY after a week of searching, only problem is that I was killed by an Orc Hunter right after, I assume she was pissed I got him instead of her. So, poof to dash 2 before I could learn it, this of course really ticked me off, so I went around killing hordies for two hours (sorry all horde out there.)

Update:
Went to feathermoor and got one of the wolves, turns out dash2 is a pet lvl 40 skill, this is why dash2 reapears at lvl40. So, don't worry about dash2 anymore, you wouldn't be able to use it much till pet lvl 40 anyway

Had been camping for days and lvl 4 times when i finally got him/her. First time, i almost had him when the respawn on the buzzards killed me.

Floated back to my corpse as fast as I could hoping he'd still be there. I was lucky, I came back to life backed up healed while tapping my fingers and feet. Killed that Buzzard that respawned and prayed the other things I'd cleared out wouldn't respawn too.

Laid a trap which he quickly got thru, just as I'm about to die again.....tamed him!

What a rush! This cat is still fast, comes with Dash 1 (which I already had) and even after taming he's still BIG at 37.

I tamed at lvl 39 at location 63,30 Yeah, do a double-take. It's not on the previous list of locations that I've found.

Whooohoooo! Finally got him after 2 days of camping and eagle eyeing his 3 spawn spots from a peak in the center of them. This guy may not be the best looking of the cat family but he's got a 1.0 attack speed and he goes into frenzy early in fights thus reducing his attack speed to .77 one of if not the fastest pet attack speed in the game! WOOT! Casters beware! Well worth the wait. Yeeeeeeeeeeeessssssssssss!

Tamed it tonight on Davengyr with a lvl 43 elvish hunter - 4.0X am CEST.

I camped there sometimes before (adding up to about 3 or 4 hours - not that much) and never saw that cat.
So i though about giving that 8-hour-theory a try. It worked out.

I went there today at 1.5X CEST -> nothing
I went there today at 3.5X CEST -> tamed the thing at 4.03 CET or something like that.

I manually walked to the spawn points and did not use eagle eye. It spawned south of the forthress.

I want to add that this is my main and only char - i am playing for 3 weeks yet.
So this can't be all that difficult. :)

I went into the Badlands for the first time with my level 37 tauren hunter specifically to look for Broken Tooth. I searched the three locations mentioned on the map here at Allakhazam, but I didn't find him. I ran to Kargath to get the flight path, and I figured I'd make a second round before hearthing back to Org. Just as I was about to give up and leave, he spawned right where I was looking! I saw the silver dragon frame around his portrait before I read his name; my heart started pounding. He was on the side of a hill at approximately 55,15 if my memory serves correctly.

There was a higher level dwarf in the area, and I was nervous because I couldn't ask him not to kill BT, but then he left the area :-D. Anyway, I was impatient and tried to ignore all the other mobs in the area by sneaking around them to get to BT; I had to kill one wolf and then I was clear to abandon my scorpid and start taming. When I was about 95% done taming, another cat spawned and attacked me, but I lucked out and was not interrupted. Broken Tooth and I then proceeded to slaughter the annoying cat that had spawned. I was in Badlands about 30 minutes before I hearthed back to Org with my new pet!

well im goin into day 3 now. camped in badlands so i didnt have to run here. i log on at 5am est. its now 9:30 est still now broken tooth. im starting to wonder if this is worth the aggrevasion im goin through right now.

Well before people go jumping on their mounts an heading down the the badlands in search of this elusive cat, there are a few things I would like to point out about it. First off many people have speculated that broken tooth is a broken cat that Blizzard will more than likely nerf in the future. I do not believe this to be the case, and think if people read my facts they will understand why. Now yes Broken tooth has an amazingly fast 1.0 attack speed; however his physical damage per attack is much lower than many other cats I've had. To do a proper comparison I first had to find broken tooth. It took me roughly 2 weeks of bolting around the known locations in the badlands trying to catch him and avoid getting caught in pvp while doing it. Sadly I started the search at lvl 39, and didn't find him till I was lvl 46 (Uldaman breaks and pvp deaths tend to do this). After sacrificing my Swamp Jaguar for him I started the laborious task of documenting his DPS each level till he caught up with my other cat with it's modest 1.3 attack speed. As the Stabled cat was lvl 45 and Broken tooth was lvl 37 it took me from lvl 46 to lvl 49 to level him to 45 for the comparison. Let me say these were some of the most painful levels I've had in the game. Once I got him to the same level I went to the stable master, and compared his Dps to that of the Stabled cat. What do you know they were exactly the same. Though Broken tooth hit faster his damage was so much lower that they both ended up with the same physical damage dealt per second. What does this mean. Well a few things. First if you are a pet talent spec hunter Broken Tooth is a great pet for you as his high attack speed will allow him to heal you more in battles than any other pet; however, the question you need to ask your self is is it worth the effort to level him if you are much higher in level. It's pretty painful, and will get you roughly 100-130 more hit points in the 30 second span. Second and perhaps the better argument to get him is for interruptions. If you sick him on a caster he has a greater chance of preventing them from casting their spells; however, if you are not pet specced, you'll have to decide if the chance of interrupting a caster is ultimately worth the pain you'll suffer if you have to significantly level this cat.

I started looking for Broken Tooth on Sunday night around midnight (Eastern.) My current cat was a Moonstalker with a 1.2 attack rate, so if I didn't manage to track down BT, it wasn't gonna be that big a deal. Had to give it a try though, just to say I had done it. :)

Waited around for an hour, scanning the three spawn points, when I got a whisper from another hunter who said she had been watching the zone since the day before. Told me that she was trying to tame Broken Tooth earlier that night but a warrior came up and killed it on her. Given that no one seems to know the spawn time other than "somewhere between four and eight hours, but sometimes three," we both sat there the rest of the night watching for a respawn. I gave up at 4am Eastern (1am server time.)

Next day I went back about 9am Eastern and waited for a few hours, then the other hunter shows up again. About 2pm, someone from my guild decided to wait around with me, and found out from the other hunter that some Rogue had killed Broken Tooth an hour before. Extremely disappointed, I logged out. Something didn't sit right with me though, so I logged back in about 15 minutes later to find that five minutes after I left, Broken Tooth had spawned, and the other hunter had got him. (ARGH!) Sounded like a setup to me - no one has posted anything about an hour and a half spawn time - but the other hunter came over and showed me where BT had spawned, and wished me good luck.

Given the amount of traffic around Angor Fortress, I figured there was no way I was going to catch BT there, so I watched Camp Kosh, and my guildie (level 60 mage with nothing better to do!) watched the spawn point near Uldaman. We sat there until 7pm Eastern, with no luck. I was ready to give up for the night, when he suddenly says "dude, get over here!" I ran over, abandoned the temporary wolf I had picked up (learned Bite Rank 5 from it, nice) and there was Broken Tooth, right below the ledge where my guildie was standing. He had an idea to sheep BT if I couldn't get there fast enough, but I managed to dump the wolf, get over there, lay a Freezing Trap, and start the taming process before another hunter nearby could get close enough. (By this time, there were four other hunters in the area, all with temporary pets named Cat, Cat, Spider, and Wolf, all level 40+, all of whom I assumed were looking for BT.) :)

SUCCESS!

Had I failed here, next chance would have been today, right after the servers came back up. :)

As has been posted, BT had Dash Rank 2, and I learned it as a trainable skill, but he lost it when I logged out. My hunter was only level 38 when I tamed BT, and Dash 2 requires level 40, so it made sense that he lost it, but he did regain the training points from it at least. After running around the Badlands and STV a while, BrokenTooth and I are now both level 39 (I gained half a level just farming meat in Badlands) so only one more level to get Dash 2 back.

The mage who helped me nab him was watching BT attack, and commented on the insane speed (BT still had Dash 2 at the time.. can't wait to get that back.) He is now psyched about getting his hunter up to level 37 so we can do the waiting game all over again. :)

My suggestion to anyone looking - rather than trying to watch all three spawn spots and hoping you find it, pick a spot and just stay there. You can't always be fast enough to reach the spawn point, even if you're mounted (and I am not high enough yet.) The point near Uldaman seems to be the best spot - it's out of the way as far as traffic goes. Angor Fortress is like the Pacific Coast Highway, and anything there is roadkill. The valley near Camp Kosh was usually overrun with warriors and rogues looking for quick kills, so I am sure if BT was there at all during my vigil, he never stood a chance. (Silver Dragon = PHAT LEWTS! MUST KILL!)

I also named it BrokenTooth. Wish it would have let me put the space in there, but no spaces allowed in names. :(

I am planning on taming both Him and King B. He is a better choice if you are a Beast Master because then his attack will be of 0.7 which is just pawnage agtainst mages. But yes, King B. is Second choice.

Alright to answer my own question. When using eagle eye you use track beasts. BT is not a hidden cat like the others in this area (Ridge Stalkers). When using the lookout point in the middle of the three spawn points you can actually see if broken tooth is at the north most spawn point with the naked eye. That's where I found mine today at lunch.

Well after I found out about his beast this morning I knew I had to get him. Went to Badlands and spend 4hours looking for him...no where to be found and I gave up. Went again there at 1am and there he was all alone and ready to be tamed. Freezing trap worked like a charm. Need to lvl him to my lvl asap.

First day I hit 37 I figured I would head out and look for him. So I get home from school log in and wait about 4 maybe 4 and half hours, I team up with a Druid that was just killing stuff near by. So at about 6pm I head up to the top spawn on the map and sure enough he's sitting right there. I hit aspect of the monkey lay a freezing trap and resists it, I continue to tame him, he resists the tame and the druid heals me gets hate and starts to kite. At that vary moment a mage runs by, I /yell sheep the cat so I can tame it. i assume the mage cannot read because he kills broken tooth and gives the drop to me (archer's jerkin of stamina). As you may think I am pissed after about 45 minutes of fuming. I log and wait until the next day. This time he's in the same stop as before (almost the same time as before, 6:30), I hit AoM and lay a freezing trap, hit him with scorpid sting he run to me. Trap is resisted I continue to tame, he resists, I feign, start from the beginning and this time the trap goes off and I tame him. Named him Champ

Alright all, for thus of us who care I just tamed him on the Darkspear server, 4PM game time, April 7th, 2006.

The 8 hour respawn holds true; a farmer tamed his earlier spawn this morning when I had to be away from my comp', though I spotted the farmer soon after, and she said she had just tamed him. SO, I banked on him respawning 8 hours later. Thus, he should respawn again right at midnight.

I found him in front of the Angor fortress, just to the S. of it, up on the hill that leads to the fort. I counted 2 Ridge Stalkers that were cloaked that prowl nearby. Cords are around 43,34.

Also, on a more universal, all-realm note, the spot at 50,24 is garbage. You can see his Eastern spawn and the Northern spawn, but cannot see his Angor spawn easily. The other spot some have talked about is around 57,25 and is *much* better for using Eagle Eye. It's quasai-tricky to get up on the small peak, but it is completely doable. I'd recommend turning on Aspect of the Beast so you're not tracked.

The Northern spawn, if you're coming down from the North from Loch Modan, is just to the South East of the whole Uldaman area. You'll first get into The Badlands, see Ulda' on the right, then pass through a narrow, very brief valley. As soon as it opens up on the left, around that corner is his N. spawn, around 57,18.

The Eastern spawn is said to be more up on the hill, as it curves around, right around the 62,30 area.

I did this as a Level 38 Night Elf Hunter, nothing too fancy on the armor, but be ready to hit feign if you aggro the Ridge Stalkers *after* taming. I had BT attack the two that I aggro'd, turned on Aspect of the Cheetah, ran until BT was off the map towards the North along the side of the mountain (thus disappearing from the Ridge Stalkers), called him, then hearth'd back to Stormwind.

And yes, he takes a boat load of food to get happy, at least right after you tame him.

It appears that BT is on an 6-hr timer that has not changed for the last few patches. The first time I got him was at 3:30 pm (local time) at the northern most spawn point. Today, months later, different server, different time zone, someone else beat me to him at 3:15 pm (local time), at the eastern most spawn point. I went back and found him exactly 6 hours later at the fortress spawn. I'm thinking, therefore, that he's on a 6-hour spawn cycle and rotates from north, to east, to SW spawn point. These are the same three points shown on every map I've seen for him.

I just spent about an hour and a half looking for this guy, but found nothing. There's only 20 entries in the Allakhazam database for him, so either he's extremely rare, or someone new.

I'm going to keep looking and will post the resorts, because I am, like many of us, addicted to new pets ;)

I'm level 52 now, and a 1.0 attack speed seems pretty impressive, but this lvl 37 is the only one in the game with that speed, should i bother taming him and spending days of effort levelling him up when I dont even have beast mastery spec (except 5/5 AotH), or do you reckon a regular cat would suffice?

Has anyone compared TB's stats with The Rake or King B? I'm sure that they must have a higher dam then him, but the rest...?

miners should take advantage of the constant iron spawns, by the time i got brooken tooth, I had 32 iron bars just from the spawns that were either up in the way, or near his spawn spots. the top and east spawn camp pop vein right there, which repeatily repopped.

Like someone told before, Broken Tooth is not the ultimate pet. But it is the "ultimate cat", A CAT, what makes the casters crying the rivers..
A cat can bite, a cat can claw, a cat can prowl and a cat can Dash; but no any other cat can hit with a 1.0 attack speed..

Works only against casters perfectly! Especially when it gots enraged by 31 Beast Mastery talents: No fear, no stun; Insane DPS!

A warrior or any other melee class *eats* the Broken Tooth :P

My ultimate pet trio is: Broken Tooth(Mostly PvP, hunting casters in BG's), Mist Howler(All round pet, almost such an armored Rake), and a boar(Charge stuns, charge rocks!)! :P

He have a very long respawn time. Dont belive enything else. The ones who gets him fast just have luck to get there in the right time.

1st day(Thursday): Went to 50,24 and started to look at the respawn points in about 2 hours before I gave up. He didnt show up.

2nd day(Friday): Logged on on the "spy spot" at about 17:00. I looked freakvently in 5-6 hours. Gave up and went to sleep. Angry as hell.

3rd day(Saturday): Came online 8:30. Started to look, he wasnt there. At 12:00 I still havent seen him I started to fix myself since I was going away at 13:00. But I still checked the spawn places out about every 5-10 min. Right before I was going out of my appartment, and about 15-20 minutes since my last check I took a last look around... Checked east point, then Ulda point, and finally Angor Fortress. I couldnt belive my eyes when I saw a dot on my map named "Broken Tooth"... I ran as fast as I could, my heart bumping, abondoned my pet. Got close, started to tame with the trap. But then one stealthed cat attacked me plus one humanoid from the fortress... Tried to FD and it didnt work. I got killed. Started to run from the GY stressed like hell, and it is not a short run. But he was still there and this time it worked. :)

So I have spent about 10 hours in total to get him. But now I have the fastest cat and since Im going pvp with this char it fits me perfect.

i actually had no intention of getting this cat because my play time is way to important to be screwing around camping a cat when there are cats in the Badlands that are 1.3 speed.

so i log on at 6:45 am to do an hour of grinding / hand in a quest before work (i parked in loch modan overnight) as i was coming into badlands BAM! he was there in front of me across from uldaman, walking back and fourth.
i dumped my wolf, tamed him no gank, no adds, no camping. sometime life is good. :p

How Good is Broken Tooth as a Pet?

Think about this, the whole reason why Retail Warcraft went to pet normalization was mainly because smart Hunters that were PVP'ing used Broken Tooth. You could increase Broken Tooth's attack speed to the point of 0.7 attack speed or 3 attacks in 2 seconds, fast enough if the attack lands at the right time to interrupt even INSTANT SPELLS, and the foolish mage wanting to cast Pyroblast would be dead most likely if they tried to continue casting the 8 second spell. This pet was most Hunters bread and butter in PVP and in Standard Play. So when you tame your Broken Tooth keep well fed, why well here's the reason why:

Happy (Green big smiley face)
Your pet is perfectly happy with you and the world. In this state, your pet will do 125% of its normal damage during a fight.
Content (Yellow smiley face)
Your pet is contented but not really happy. It's worth feeding your pet at this stage to get it back to the Happy state above. Your pet will deal 100% of its damage at this stage.
Unhappy (Red frowning face)
Your pet is unhappy and will only do 75% damage during fights.

I cannot remember exactly how but there was a way to drop Broken Tooth's Attack Speed to 0.25% thus making the attacks being 4 attacks per second fast enough to Interrupt INSTANT Cast Spells and Abilities. So ask yourself then it that a pet you want to have & keep happy? Because I sure want this Cat.

Tamed him today on Herod and I can confirm he has kept his 1.0 swing speed from Vanilla. He spawns correctly at the locations posted in the locations on the wowhead map, however I would ignore the single outlier way down south. Likely a result of someone kiting the kitty down there before either taming or killing it.

As mentioned in another comment, I used the eagle-eye strategy.

Sitting on top of the hill right next to the graveyard, I had Eagle eye bound to an extra mouse button, and a /target Broken Tooth macro bound to my 2nd extra mouse button.

Make sure you type out the full Broken Tooth name in the macro as some devious hunters out there like to name their current pet BrokenTooth to confuse track beast minimap names and /target Broken macros. Using the full name will prevent you from erroneously targeting such pets.

Cast eagle eye at the base of the hill to your north, push the target button after mobs spawn in, cancel eagle eye.

Repeat southeast of you, I always targeted the center of that small clearing next to the big rock.

Repeat to the west at Angorforge. This is where I nabbed mine, he spawned next to the rock pillar.

To help with zoning out I had netflix up on my other monitor, and had a weakaura set up to make sure I wouldn't accidentally ignore BT.

Condition: Trigger 1 active - Play Sound - Air Horn

Got him at 9:15 am @ coordinates 55, 17 (northern spawn) on Faerlina server 9/18/19. Just a note: if you don't 'Eagle Eye' the spawn point or are right on top of a particular spawn point, you wont even know he is there. Good luck fellow hunters.

Just tamed today!

Server reset happened this morning and I set myself an alarm for 6 hours later. He spawned almost right on the dot, spawned at 4:10 PM EST, 6 hours and 10 minutes after server reset and when he was last tamed.

I sat on a small bluff just above the northern spawn, with unitscan. I can confirm that unitscan does work in Classic.

Just tamed as horde @ coords 45; 37 8:21am on heartseeker server (heavy alliance controlled server) and no layers.

I've been killed while taming him before. But this time, I got the tame off before a dwarf hunter and his rogue friend could get there. Then just after the tame I killed the hunter. Rogue got away, Good thing he ran, broken tooth was very hungry.

How I got him was to follow the instructions of camping up on a cliff where I could eagle eye each spawn. I've only see him spawn at 45,37. 1st time there were several alliance hunters with their friends there. I got there first and began the tame the last time he spawned witch was 7:03am Saturday morning 2 weeks ago, they killed me mid tame.

My recommendation is to camp him from 6:30am to 10:30am server. Worked for me.

When he spawned both times I saw him, he was NOT stealthed. he just sat there near the top of that knoll near the fallen pillar.
I did not kill surrounding mobs. I don't recommend you do this. I think he takes the place of another spawn if it is alive. I say this because I tried that and one day the body of one of the cats there never despawned for like 3 hours. I am betting that was BT's switching partner.

Just park yourself and eagle eye spot, to spot to spot and take care not to aggro the stealthy trash cats nearby.

I got brokentooth Friday night on Atiesh horde. took me all weekend to grind him from 37-47 so he was useful but it was worth it. he now absolutely destroys things. I did that eagle eye trick and was shocked when he spawned. alliance tried to kill him right before he tamed but it went off anyways.

Got him on Herod after about an hour and a half of waiting for him at 5:35AM. I fumbled the tame so hard i almost got killed when i pulled 3 mobs with him, but I was more worried about an ally attacking me

Broken Tooth spawned at 6:39 PM server time on October 2, 2019 on the Stalagg (NA) server. He spawned at the Angor Fortress location.

I've been trying to confirm what the exact re-spawn time is, but can only say that it is AT LEAST 7 hours, as I was there all day waiting for him.

I ended up stunning a lower level Night Elf using Intimidation, as he was mid-tame. I then killed him and promptly tamed Broken Tooth. I wasn't going to let him ruin my long day of camping.

So in Classic it seems to be 6-8 hour respawn timer. All my 4 guild hunters got theirs within the last 2 days and I'm super happy and excited about that. :)

What happened was a guildie found him and the first hunter tamed Broken Tooth. After that we assumed it was on a 6h30m - 7h30m timer so we got there earlier than the previously mentioned 7h respawn timer. Playing on Herod (US) we have two layers currently as far as I know and we had both layers occupied looking for Broken Tooth.

From first spawn to next it was 7h15m. From that it was 6h45m and we missed the next spawn but the hunter who got him was kind enough to let us know when he got it. Last one spawned on exactly 8h timer.

If you're a hunter and want to tame him, follow these steps:

Climb to 50,24 and stay there as this image shows: IMAGE HERE
Use Eagle Eye on these three locations:

Broken Tooth has an 8 hours spawn time, if you couldn't catch him at the first try, you already know what time he will spawn. Stay low, wait 8 hours and boom! He will be there again.

You can also use the addon unitscan. After you install it, just type in the chat: /unitscan Broken Tooth and wait for it. You will get a big freakin' message on your screen when broken tooth is near, you don't even need to use Beast Track ability.
Note: If you game language isn't English, type the exactly name Broken Tooth has on your client.

Broken Tooth seems to spawn as early as up to ~6 hrs after he was last killed/tamed. After a couple hours of scanning around, I finally found Broken Tooth, but I was a bit far. An Alliance Nightelf beat me to taming him, and the time was ~11:23 am. I gave him a /clap and /congratulate, and then logged off. I came back at 5:23 pm with some IRL food and water prepared to chill for 2 hrs, scanning every 3 min. Surprisingly, I found him at 5:30 pm and tamed him soonafter.

Tips:

Make a /target Broken Tooth macro. Make sure you spell it correctly (I actually wasted an hour of scanning very early on before I realized I put "Brokentooth" by accident). Put it next to your eagle eye bind e.g. on (-) and (=).
Make sure that you are Lvl 37+ because you literally will not be able to tame him otherwise.
Find a spot that easily lets you scan between the spawn zones every 3-5min. I used the horde GY spot at about (57.5, 26) because it is in the middle of the 3 spawn points while also being slightly behind a hill. IMO it helps be in a slightly more inconspicuous spot if you can help it, because other hunters looking for Broken Tooth might become more vigilant if they realize you are also hunting him. This also goes doubly so for hunters on the opposite faction, and just enemy players in general that might feel like killing you.
It might be easier to do this at lvl 40 since you can mount up and get there slightly faster than lvl 37-39's, but I did do it at lvl 37.
Keep track of other hunters in the area that might also be looking for Broken Tooth. They are your competition, but they are also information. For example, if there is only 1 other hunter in the area and he's been scanning for the last couple of hours and then he suddenly leaves, maybe he found Broken Tooth. Or, if he is still there dutifully scanning, then you are probably safe in assuming that Broken Tooth hasn't spawned yet.
If you find a hunter near one of Broken Tooth's spawn points, or just in the Badlands in general, check their pet to see if it is a yellow lvl 37 Cat -- if it is, then they just got Broken Tooth.
Knowing Broken Tooth's last spawn time is worth its weight in gold since it will allow you to zero in on his next spawn time. It is okay if you lost the race to this Broken Tooth if you can come back and camp the area come 6 hrs from that point.
Using the information method, it is possible to mooch off of someone else that is scanning more frequently without having a scan war. You can just check every now and then to see if they are still there (4-5 min interval), and then if they are gone then they either just got Broken Tooth (and you can ask them and mark down the time) or they logged off and now you can start scanning with a narrower time scope on BT's last spawn (since they were scanning for that entire previous time period).
It is possible to quest through badlands and (in 5 min intervals) chain-cast eagle eye to check the spawn points. This method is less likely to nail you Broken Tooth immediately since you'll be farther away than someone camping his spawns, but it allows you to get other in-game things done while eventually securing BT's spawn time.

If you're on Netherwind Server, At lvl 38 I tamed him on11/2/19 at 10:06PM Eastern time by Uldaman. I hear he spawns about every 6 hrs from when he was tamed or killed. Used the same method as others listed here. Eagle eye from the little rock formation next to the GY at the hill near ulda, the post by Ang.Fort. , the hill across from Ang.Fort., and the other spawn place I dont know the name of listed above. He spawned on the hill near Ulda and I was on him immediately. 1)set ice trap 2)cast aspect of Monkey 3) cast Tame. He hit the ice trap while I was taming, and broke out a second or so later, but it gave me the extra cast time to solo the tame at 38 with plenty of life to spare. Easy tame, grueling wait, with lots of competition. Unbuffed attack speed of 1.0, right out of the box- caster's nightmare, especially with Frenzy bringing it down to whatever 30% faster comes out to (.70, i would assume, but I'm not sure how that's calculated). comes only with Dash ability, and free train up to his level on growl ability.
One more thing. Have some class about it with other hunters. It took me a week of bouncing in and out hoping to catch him, mostly with a few other hunters either already in my spot looking for him, or popping in when I was there first, as if we could both tame him or thinking they could beat me to him. If you're taming him, have some class about it. If there's already a hunter on the rock by the GY, move on- don't be a jerk. Wait your turn. Just because you were there when you logged out, doesn't mean you own the spot if someone's already there when you come back. You can't both tame him. find another spot or wait by one of the spawn sites hoping to get lucky. And night elves: If you log out on "the spot", don't think when you log back in you can shadowmeld and tell the guy already there that you were there all along. If you're from the same team, we can see you when you're shadowmelded. Some asshat nightelf logged back in to find me on the rock by the GY where he logged out, and tried to tell me he'd been there all along, shadowmelded, and that I should leave because he was there first (he apparently had no idea that alliance can see nightelves even when shadowmelded). Don't be that $%^&*!. After acting like that and lying, I told him if he beat me to the cast, I'd kill Broken Tooth before I'd let him tame first after trying that BS on me, then he had the nerve to call me "petty" after lying to me and taking me for stupid. I wouldn't have done that if he had been there first, and hadn't tried to BS me about being there already in Shadowmeld. Be courteous- if there's a hunter already there, either take a chance waiting at one of the spawn spots, or come back later. If you're cool like that, and the guy that was there first gets him, he might be cool enough back to tell you exactly what time he got him so you'll know when to come back after the 6 hr spawn time. Then you won't have to waste time when you know he won't be there.

The respawn time definitely is not 6-8 hours. I saw BT die on Ashkandi (single layer realm) at 5:46pm. I came back at 11:30pm and began spamming Eagle Eye at all 3 spawn locations. He did not spawn in the 2.5 hours I was there.

His timer might be as short as 4 hours or as long as 12. It most certainly is not a guaranteed spawn in 6-8 hours.

As others have stated, I sat on the rock at (55, 24), and used & at each of the spawns: (42,36), (54,10), & (64,29).

The UnitScan addon worked like a charm, and all it took to setup was "/unitscan Broken Tooth". (You can confirm it's tracking him by typing "/unitscan".)

Tamed at northern spawn point at 4:30 PM Eastern time on Pagle. I got so lucky as I was at the southern part of the Badlands looking for Iron nodes. I did an Eagle Eye chain and spotted him. Pretty much had a heart attack all the way there and he was still there!

This is my first time playing to 60; I leveled a rogue around the time of Cata; but it cut into time with my tabletop group so I stopped. Up until recently I haven't been able to play much between school, work and the kid. So I'm struggling to know what my gear progression is or what my supposed rotation is since no matter what I do I seem to take aggro off my pet or tanks in dungeons. After getting ganked by shadow word pain, polymorph flashing on my screen a couple hundred times I did some research.
I was originally going to tame Humar the Pridelord; but he wasn't there and I wasn't gonna wait 8-12 hours for him. The Rake is such low level that I wasn't gonna bother with him. So I hit up SFK and grabbed myself a Slavering Worg, decent level and attack speed. I immediately knew though once we hit mobs that I would be struggling to level him up; so I teleported to gnomeregan. By this time I dinged 37 so I knew I could grab him; also I had some quests due in The Badlands. The mobs up there were tough for me and my level 19 Worg, also some ally punks started griefing me. Eventually my gear broke and I was down to my last three pieces of pet food; so I decided to hearth back to Tarren Mill. I put my Orc on auto run and just scanned blips using track beasts. I nearly jumped out of my seat when his name popped up. I put myself in position, abandoned my worg; put down a frost and con shotted. Another cat got aggroed but it didn't matter; he's mine now and he's beautiful. I've left his name intact; so every caster knows to think twice before they raise them hands.

Having read the comments here, I expected Broken Tooth to be some sort of epic feat - almost impossible, in fact. The hunter guides I've read mockingly include a section on how to fail to get broken tooth due to various factors (not spawned, interference, world pvp, competition etc). As such, when I entered Badlands at level ...39, I didn't even consider taming the bloody beast.

But then ... I realised the area was empty. So I went to 50,24, used eagle eye and, of course, he was right there, patiently waiting for someone to tame him. I marked him, pressed eagle eye again and started running towards the fortress.

The only surprising thing was the fact that a few other stealthed mobs roam around, something I didn't expect. Other than that, business as usual: trap, tame, done.

This was on the 28th of June on Golemagg-EU.

Unitscan addon , Track Beast active and Eyes of the Beast boom found him , just lucky I guess after a realm transfer and first flight to Kargath .

Named him Btooth , should of been BlueTooth :P
one run through ZF and he's 39 now

Found Broken Tooth at 54,14, at 7:40 am on the server Mankrik. Easy tame with Freeze Trap. There were other animals around him - coyotes, ridge stalkers, and buzzards.

It may take some detective work to find out what happened to the last Broken Tooth: you may find people have killed it not realising it has a 6.5hr spawn timer. Do ask in general before even bothering looking around!

I tamed Broken Tooth just outside Angor Fortress. If you do manage to tame this pet. Make sure you bring some meat with you... Tamed this morning, on my 45 Hunter. Only to have the pet disappear within about 20 minutes I believe, due to low happiness. So if you don't have any food on you, and get distracted, remember the clock is ticking.

Suffice to say I was disappointed. I'm not a hunter main, I rarely play the character and figured I'd pick the toon up again to level before TBC. Took my chances and figured I'd check the spawn whilst working on my Leatherworking, using Eagle Eye to check the spawns. Within 15 mins he'd appeared.

Having used the same pet since leaving Teldrassil, the happiness mechanic was just something I'd completely forgotten about outside on it's impact of damage. So, beware.

Here's my sad story. I tamed him two days ago. I was just very lucky. Found him only an hour after observing the spawning spots. Today, I went to Western Plaguelands and was AFK for some hours. After I came back from rather long AFK, I'd realised that Broken Tooth had left me... Now I'm back in Badlands, still waiting for another Broken Tooth to appear.

I am not sure if eagle eye works because I did it for hours and never found it. I then started to level in the area checking each spot because i would assume the mob would be invis. 15 minutes later, I found it near the rock. So yeah... i feel like its better to lvl up in the area and check the spots.

I circled around for two days looking for Broken Tooth ... and then finally found him sleeping at 23.4, 60.9 ! Tamed him, done.

Tamed October 18, 2023 at 02:52 a.m. Firemaw-EU. And yes - Eagle Eye works perfectly. Used it on 50, 24 controlling all 3 spawn points. Respawn timer was exactly 8 hours.

Been farming his spawn for quite a while. Jumping layers, checking in at all hours, so far nothing, as of Feb. 24, 2024, still not one sighting.

My story

WOW - Classic, Seasons of Discovery
Looking for sighting with no success for 4 days.
Always Layer 1 (possible other layers, was not able to switch for some reason).
Day 24th March 2024, BT (tamed) was sighted for the first time with an Orc Hunter "Shockhunt" in 06:53 (Server time), coordinates: 63.38 (got screen shot.
Logged in 25th March 2024 in 14:00 and eagle-eye'd for 2 hours, no sighting.
I logged in on multiple occasions and no sighting.
25:th March 2024, 20:30 (Server time), coordinates: 44.34 first true sighting. Tamed him 20:33 (server time).
My adrenalin didn't let me make screenshots of the tame.
You can calc the time from the first and the second sighting your self, Way more than 8 hours, or i missed the between spawn.

NOTE
I noticed two dwarfs (not spilling names as not confirmed that need to be investigated as bots), all greens with no reply and no movement of a real person. I even feared their targets and they didn't mind, just ren after them, well, like bots. reported both, with note to be investigated. Also noticed that there are sites that are extorting euros for "helping" you tame. I'm pretty sure this two hunters are killing Broken Tooth and extort money for tame. Both hunters have roughly the same items, have nonsense names and have a pig pet with starter name and all they do is kill the cats around the spawn points. Hard to miss them.

sooo my sob story. I've been hunting Brokentooth for a few months now and I'm up extra late out scouting and I see a 38 hunter show up next to me, does the eagle eye and then goes to tame a wolf. I'm like cant blame him be foolish not to check for him. so i keep scanning. kind of watching the young hunter to make sure he doesn't get killed being a bit lower level. then i decide to look on wowhead to see if there's anything I may have missed and I stumble upon a post that says my sob story. I read the story and then scan the 3 spawn points again. wouldnt you know it the hunter that just tamed a wolf now has broken tooth! I message him and he said yeah he just tamed him. I was so frustrated but i said grats and now I will post my own sob story. lol

Definitely Bots around the spawn points. Saw one lvl 40 dwarf with supsicious name running between spawn points, not reacting to anything, dying regulary to other mobs on the way

Can confirm the respawn can be as short as 6 hours. (Lone Wolf, Layer 1)

I'd logged on to idly check for her and after about 2 minutes of using eagle eye noticed her at the northermost spot. Immediately ran over and while I was abandoning my current pet (yes I should have come more prepared!) an alliance hunter showed up. I killed them, but had aggro'd extra mobs, had very low health, and had to stay in FD because BT and a prowler were walking over my body. By the time I got up and began bandaging, the other hunter reappared and killed me, then tamed BT. It was disappointing but I looked at the time and it was 8:27 PM. I set my alarm for 2:10 AM.

I logged back in at 2:10, did two eagle eye scans, then went to get some water (thinking I'm in it for the long haul). I came back to the computer, scanned and BT was at the eastern spawn point. I sprinted over, tamed, and looked at the time - 2:16 AM (still Layer 1).

I now have Humar and Broken Tooth and couldn't be happier :)
