Where he is is accurate but if anyone kills him befor you then you have a long wait.

I spent around an hour killing things around keeping my eye out with tracking (50 Hunter) and he eventually turned up for some idiot to hit him befor i did - going back to it now hoping he will be back - mission sucks in general!

I just got him, totally unexpectedly by myself. I'ma 43/hunter. I was doing the Crushridge warmongers, and was in the alterac ruined castle, getting all the warmongers in the corners of the uppermost barricades. You can run across the roof up there, so I was standing there scouting out the best way to leave rather than fight back down through the whole castle. Grel'borg materialized right beneath me walking out the castle towards the city, and there weren't any other enemies right near the gate, so I just jumped down behind him and started attacking. He wasn't that strong or tough, I think the trick is just to catch him without any adds, and from what I can tell none really patrol that spot right in front of the castle entrance.

Soloed with my level 41 druid, not even hard... Killed 2 ogres out of disturbing my last kill, then just lured the Miser there, away from the other mobs. Healing spells weren't for nothing, though... So as a rogue or sumthing, I'm not so sure if it can be pulled...

Just finished this guy off, and instead of dropping the star, i got some silver and hog shank....

Thsi is the first part that I did and did relitively easy as a 45 Pally. Took a bit of time but not hard.

I was able to get this first time, after reading all the hints on Thottbot.. I waited at the gates and then followed a Horde group in, staying back until they had happily cleared the path. Unfortunately they had also killed Miser.. but I was then able to hang around, the ruins dodging the respawns, until Miser came out of the castle finally. He is a magic guy, so I was able to quickly curse him with tounges and then just threw everything at him, and my imp, as he has the highest fire power of my pets. The horde were still running around killing the other ogres, so it allowed me to take him down, to my last breath, and dead imp, but he dropped the Tiara first time. The percentage of times he drops it is 50/50 when ur level 38, gets down to 17% when you are over 42. Wasn't easy, but Warlocks can take down elite magic guys, their armour isn't great.

I'm a lvl44 lock. Was hunting Grel'borg for the "The Star, The Hand and The Heart" quest. I did the Grel'borg part solo. After working my way cautiously up to the school I had staked out a good spot for myself in a ruined building. I was about to engage a Mage when I noticed what I thought to be a patrol coming my way. I switched attention ot this rover, siced my void on him and hit him with agony and corruption. I let the pet and dot's bring him to half health when I refreshed agony and corruption and added immolate to the mix then I started sending in the shadowbolts. He went down really quick for alvl 39 elite. You can imagine my surprise when I looted the corpse and found the wuest item on him. Didn't even realize he was the mob I needed! Woot!

I had to kill a few orges and work my way back to the castle and as soon as I saw him I was ganked. So when I came back I just worked my way into the castle and found him after maybe 15-20 mins.

Finally tracked him down, and killed him. However, I got two separate quest drops off of him!

Besides the Star, I got the Perenolde Tiara - I had forgotten that I even had that quest. Very convenient - two quests in one.

NOTE: He is easiest to find in the castle itself. You can wait in a corner near the front door, and follow him out (if you are a rogue).

I was reading laughingvergil's reply about how he found Grel'borg right outside the castle and decided to do the same...as a 45 tank I solo took out each ogre in the area in preparation but when I got the last of the area guards (the one right on the entrance ramp to the castle) down to half health, all of a sudden I realized there was a red-painted caster at his side to help him. I took out the already damaged ogre, popped a heal pot, and then beat what turned out to be the objective npc. So it sounds to me like the area nearest the castle is the ideal ambush area.

If you can stealth you can follow him to the cellar of the castle where he will be alone. Easy kill for druid or rogue... but you need to be able to stealth past the Warmongers.

i was atl tabbed to this page reading. im like ho go to that castle, alt tab back, /tar grel and he walks right out of the caslt to greet me. hes a easy but fun fight for a 44 war. get out of the fire lol. alt tabbed back to almost death >.>

There's an easier way of reaching the castle if you turn right before the road forks. You can go over the walls to the big castle on your map. Go behind the castle, and around, and wait near the entrance.

I cleared the area where I would fight Grel'borg. I saw him come out about every 20 seconds or so. He doesn't wander far, and I imagine he doesn't go too deeply in the castle from the frequent times I saw him come out.

How I found him: I used a macro and clicked it every now and then (target /grel). Basically, he's the only mage-looking ogre that's walking from the castle.

In my opinion, he was easier to kill than the surrounding ogres.

Done as a 39 priest.

seems to spawn in the main ground floor room of the castle which is 36,54

Killed him as a 43 mage...piece of cake. He doesn't hit hard, has low hp and casts rain of fire, which gives you 10 sec of free hits.

Must be easily soloable from lvl 38, except for the ogres surrounding him..

I was drinking under the portcullas of the fort when grelborg came up behind me so I guess he patrols in there. And he was just a normal looking orge with red tattoos. He wasn't blue or 2 headed.

He is nowhere to be found. Been scouting Alterac Ruins for over 60mins now and killed 3 other named ogres but cant find him. Been here so long i even managed to buy two Frost Oil recipes o.O

Was sitting outside where Targ spawns inside the church and this putz came at me. Killed him and he dropped some green. Thought he was a rare spawn but guess I was just lucky.

You get the star off the Ogre boss.... I found him in front of the castle door in Alterac Ruins. All the mobs around him are elite.

dont mean to be racist :P but grel is not blue he is a creamy colour well when i found him he was so dont just look for a blue guy cos chances is you wont find him :P

I found him wandering right in front of castle, he did have red trunks, cream coloured skin and he was sporting 2 heads.

I was really lucky, I found him straight away, killed him and left without running into the any other elites. He came out of the big building. Two heads and red pants

respawn time ~6 minutes, spawns in the basement of the castle 35, 54 in the ruins of alterac

I only received one hog shank, one silver and 80 copper from killing him - would have expected a little more from an elite!

Grel'Borg spawns in the basement of the Barracks @ 37,53 he then paths up the stairs and out the front of the barracks.
I'm not sure where his path goes after this point.

He's about as tough as a non-elite Ogre, I had very little difficulty doing this as a 44 druid during the first SoM.
