Yeah, I saw him near the Cave at the North of Felwood. He's white, so very hard to miss amongst the rather dull surroundings.

418 XP while rested at 58. Had to temporarily set Cenarion Circle to 'at war' to attack this elite owl. Dropped no loot at all, but didn't decrease reputation either.

I had my pet with me, so I couldn't tame him, but Beast Lore gives the following:

88-118 Damage
3128 Armor
3082 Health
Diet: Meat

No reputation loss upon death, but then again, absolutely no loot upon the corpse.

Alliance hunters might be puzzled by the fact Olm the Wise is clearly rated "Tameable" via Beast Lore, yet if they try to tame him they get an "invalid target" message.

The reason is because Olm has faction with Cenarion Circle. If you open your charater sheet to the reputation page and click "at war" with the faction, you can then tame him. Just be sure to uncheck the "at war" faction rating afterwards and there is no permenent penalty to taming him. Horde members don't need to do this.

Olm doesn't have any special stats other than being the lowest level white owl tameable in the game. He comes knowing Dive 3, Claw 7.

You can get Screech Rank 3 in the same zone if you first tame an Ironbeak Owl (48-49/Felwood)and learn Screech then release it prior to taming Olm.

rare mob min respawn time 8 hours, but can be 36 hours (for example Grunter in badlands)

I looked a while for him last night, just logged in and I saw him. Immediately tamed it. Found him at 58.18

Comes with CLAW 7 and DIVE 3

Just clicked AT WAR for a sec and it was tamable.

Tamed him today at 58.18, looked for him yesterday, and this morning I spotted him. Might as well just go on to 53 and tame a normal one because he is a rare spawn and has a spawn rate of about 8 hours.

I found this guy at 58.18, at 4:30 am pst.

The odd thing was it took me 6 tries to tame him, I was beginning to think there was
some kind of bug. I used ice block and I was sure it worked, but nothing.
Then on number 6, it worked.

I was able to re-name it.

Just tamed him. Got lucky too! A 54 shaman was trying to kill me, so i killed him with a felpaw wolf i tamed earlier for protection and tamed olm when i killed the orc

Unless I have extremely bad luck, I believe Olm is on a 24 hour timer.

Started camping at 8pm pst and did not find and tame Olm until 3:45pm the following afternoon.

He looks exactly the same as all the other white owls with the same stats, so no point in trying too hard for him unless you absolutely must have a white one at 52. I believe horde can tame Stormpike Owls at 53, and everyone can get the winterspring white owls starting at 54.

Also remember to click 'at war' with Cenarion Circle prior to taming.

Olm the Wise - level 52
Stats before and after catching him:
88 - 118 / 90 - 114 damage
3128 / 3422 armor
3028 / 2608 hp
Dive rank 3: increases speed by 80% for 50 seconds
Claw rank 7: 35 - 49 damage

Some hunters might see other stats after they tamed it, because I have chosen for the Beast Mastery talent tree. It's stats are the same as a normal owl from the same level. It's just a regular white owl, only difference is that all the other white owls are level 53 and higher.

Catching him has no influence on your reputation with the Cenarion Circle. Setting yourself at war with them does not change your reputation as well.

Less than an hour ago I looked at the map here found em in the middle location dismissed my lvl47 wolf from Hinterlands, layed a freezing trap and tamed em in the first try his stats are the following:

STR: 117 Attack: 260
AGI: 85 Power: 214
STA: 236 Damage: 99-125
INT: 44 Defense: 260
SPR: 69 Armor: 4066

Note: Armor and damage may differ due to talents in beast mastery

As a matter of fact, he does glow slightly, unlike the Winterspring owls; an all white, glowy owl. Saw someone with him the other day, looks sweet. :)

Hi all ! I just tamed this guy I'm level 55. My question is those this guy have any stats different than winterpring owls?
He has same attack speed of 2.0 but can anyone confirm at level 54-55 if everything is identical as winterspring owls?
Is it worth for me to train this guy 3 levels or just tame a level 55 winterspring owl?

He's identical to the Winterspring owls. All white.

Only reason he looks green in that screenshot is because the glowing effect was enabled when it was took, and the green haze of Felwood reflected off him.

Spent a day camping his spawn points, logging in every few hours and running around for 10 or so minutes using /target Olm. Started at 9am ST and found him at 2:30pm at 55,22 on Terenas. Now unless he spawned and was killed/tamed during the first 5 hours of my excursion he would be on a +24 hour timer. If anyone knows his exact respawn rate please post, because I couldn't find it anywhere.

I ran into Olm the Wise in Felwood at 58,18. He has a slight glow to him, but looks nothing like the picture. I wasn't able to tame him since I'm not 52 yet, but I will come back when I hit that level. The /target olm the wise macro is INCREDIBLY useful, since this bird isn't always in the same spot.

As a last note, if any hunter wants an original pet, this is it. No one has owls on my server.

Edit: Found and tamed at his northern spawn point. Frost trapped with no trouble. Again, macro is extremely helpful.

jstu got him right now, im soo happy, i got a white owl earlier than i would have if i watied for the winterspring owl, he is soo cool looing... im keeping him for a long time...

edit: has anyone else had a problem with Naming him? i can seem to name him...

this is a problem with some named mobs, rare + elite, as they come named already you cannot choose to name them personally, it can be annoying, but it makes u look better ;)

Just got this pet on my 60 hunter from what ive noticed his eyes are diffrent and they have a really good glow in darker areas

Spent about 5 minutes of camping last nite...i think i tamed him at about 11pm server time? i unno sometime between 10 and 12 tho.
I really like it i ran around for about 5 minutes on my mount with my 2 warrior buddies spamming my /target olm the wise macro and nothing. then i was killing a bear and i hit my macro by accident and it locked on and i saw him. dismissed my lvl 50 owl that i tamed just to help me out while i hunted Olm. Tamed on 1st attempt.
super excited i really like him.
named him Pulsafrix. i looked up scientific names for owls and Pulsafrix just stood out so i used that. So... yea im super excited about him and now i have 3 rare awesome pets.

But yea i just followed the path shown on the site and it was perfect. Just farm the elementals for essences of water while u wait and go check the path every 5 minutes or so.
i made about 35g from essences in the 10 minutes of hunting olm so yea. it was awesome. im gunna go back and farm more essences to get cash for my +25 agi enchant for my ice barbed spear today. 35g in 10 minutes = crzy but i know i got lucky but still.....lotsa money and the exp is also very good.

lol dude just turn your reputation 'hostile'with cenarion circle when you tame him, and when you got him turn it on friendly again, that should do the trick :)

im not to sure about this guy because ive never had an owl as a pet im still lvling for the day i can tame one of these guys hope its soon cause olm looks badass but i hate his diet all meat i like bears preferably because they eat anything but they dont look as tight as olm.

i waited many hours for him. once i saw him, i dismissed my other owl. went to tame him and it says "invalad target" so i called a gm, and they said "well sorry, is there anything else i can hilp you with?" when i tried to kill him, it sayd "target is friendly, cannot attack" his name was yellow at the time.

do i need bad faction with cenarian circle?

Please Upvote this so everyone may know.

Whatever faction you may be. If you want to KILL or TAME this mob you need the have unlocked the "Cenarion Circle" reputation. You can only attack it by setting the option "At War" with Cenarion Circle.

If you havent unlocked the rep then try find someone else who has to kill it for you , thats because you cannot do anything to it. No AOE spells will work or anything if you have not unlocked the reputation.

I can confirm in Classic WoW that killing this bird does not decrease reputation with Cenarion Circle. It's safe to check "At War" and kill him! I got a level 48 green

I just tamed him today. I'm not sure if they changed his look but he was not white and he did not shimmer. He looked more of a light blue turquoise color and he was translucent. You can actually see through him. I like him but it is not what I was expecting. I tried him in several different areas and the color stayed the same. I wanted a white one since I already had the blue but he will work. He looks a lot like a spirit beast.

I tamed Olm the wise today (v1.13.4), and he had a plain white appearance both before and after I tamed him.

I suggest using this macro with TomTom to find Olm, that's how I did with multiple chars:

/way Felwood 55.60, 23.30 Olm The Wise 1
