Sylvanas isn't as nearly as hard as her toy dreadlord, Varimathras. Killing her poses no problems, but killing Varimathras can be... well, let's say tricky. The interestign thing about her is that she looks nothing like her Forsaken brethren and I bet many people who play Undead are very jealous that she has all her body intact.

Can anyone confirm the health of these NPC's in UC. The battlemaster's health seems incredibly low (low enough to one shot em) and Lady Sylvanas doesn't sound high enough to be a city leader.

She hates Arthas, he Killed Slylvans while she was alive, Arthas killed Sylvanas while she was Defending her Homeland and Deathknigth Arthas turned her to Banshee, She must have to Possesed a High Elf or Nigth Elf.. Dunno wich one she did.. she looks like a Nigth Elf.. And dreadlord Varimathras is her "Slave" dreadlord Varimathras Swore Loyality to Sylvanas at exchance of Saving his Life and dreadlord Varimathras betrayed his "Brother Dreadlords" When Lichking lose some of his powers and Minion Undead because Illidan threated Frozen Throne with help of Blood Elves and Nagas. But when Lichking lose some of his Powers Sylvans Freed herself Slavery of Lichking And Arthas. She took some Undead to herself and they Became to Forsaken.. "Huoh".. was that all?

please dont post when you havent fought her properly, right firstly i went in there solo and pulled her solo without bodyguard so he doesnt protect her.

then i took a raid in for fun it took all of 4 minutes to get to her and no nothing is pulled on entering room simply go into a cove in wall pull her nad AE those skellies, we wasnt successful but we had like 20 people levels 40+ as i said a mess around after a hard days PvP.

the other thing is she teleports which is really annoying as she hits with bow for like 900 on me im a hunter and 1200 with melee good luck guys and girls.

Sylvanas Windrunner used to be a High Elf once (with a name like that, who knew!).

When arthas was trying to get some really niftey item to resurect his little lich buddy he had to grind his way through, well, almost the entire high elf race to get to it.
Sylvanas had the unfortunate task of being the Commander in Chief of all the High elf Forces defending the Elf-Ville.

Arthas was victorius, Killed everyone, and murdered Sylvana. But since he was an evil prick, Killing her just wasnt enough so he raised her as a Banshie.

He then went ahead and did a whole bunch of other stuff and ended up fighting Illidan on some huge iceberg rather close to the crown of Azeroth, When he was fighting he got weak and lost controle of a big portion of his army in the Easten Kingdoms, Those forces either became mindless drones, or gained sentience and rebelled under the command of the Bansie Lady Sylvanas Windrunner.

They took over the undercity, Had a huge party and are now planing a bunch of ways to get revengo on the Lich King.

Oh, and she also became great buddies with Varimathras and he became her bodyguard.

Ok, that said, If you still want some questions answered just either play the games or read the story featured on Blizz.com.

Well I actually read WoW's history now. And it all makes sense.

*reads game manual once again*

Apparently she was Ranger-General of Silvermoon, but she indeed was a HIGH ELF. So was her army.
She was killed in the battle and Arthas "resurrected" her as a Banshee.
Along with her army, the undead Forsaken, she breaked lose from the Scourge and Plague and stuff and claimed the ruins of Lordaeron herself. Today it is the Undercity, capital city of the Undead.

thought about how easy sylvanas was to kill with a lvl 6+ arthas?
Okay, BIG question; if Bliz choose to make an Arthas-boss instance how overpowered do you think he will be?

The bosses are basically identically to players except they have massive amount of HP.

That being said, the bosses have different "true levels"

Here are the list of faction bosses:

Alliance:

Highlord Bolvar, aka I didn't see a giant dragon standing five feet away from me, Fordragon----at stormwind keep
Archbishop, aka I have a basement inviting any horde warlock to summon raid me, Benedictus------at stormwind cathedal
King Magni, aka I need you to kill my son in law, Bronzebeard-----at ironforge highseat
High Tinker, aka no nobody know I exist, Mekkar------at ironforge Tinkertown
Archdruid Faugon, need anger management, Staghelm------at top of Cenarion Conclave at darnassus
Priestess Tyrande, aka husband missing for ten thousand years, Whisperwind---at temple of moon at Darnasus
Lady Jaina, aka I love green (Thrall) more than blond (Arthas), Proudmoore----at top of the Theramore central keep

Horde:

Lady Sylvanas, aka I am the queen of Zerg..er forsaken, Windrunner----at Undercity Royal Chamber
Majordomo, aka I can fly before the beer gut, Varimathas----at Undercity Royal Chamber
Warchief, aka I didn't ninja this platemail, Thrall---at Orgrimmar valley of wisdom

Highchieftain Cairne, aka I die three times a day at Warcraft III, Bloodhoof---highchieftian's tent at Thunderbuff

That being said, i think the easiest boss to take down will in fact be Archbishop Benedictus. Since there is a basement right beside him which is perfect for horde's summon sneak attack. The archdruid, Tyrande and Jaina are all standing at pretty cramped places, so they are a bit harder.

Sylvanas and varimathas are standing together. Thrall and Vol'jin is standing together. But no raid is really stupid enough to take two bosses on at the same time. They will simply pull one out.

Again, all bosses are acting as players in term of damage, which means they can outlevel you by 10000 level, but you will still be able to hit them.

According to the World of Warcraft Strategy guide, all the bosses are in fact level 63 with exception of Bolvar, Varimathas and Tyrande. (Don't flame me if I remembered wrong.)

varimathas, level 100---probably why no one has tried to mess with him yet. As far as we know, he could have kicked Ragnaros' ass by himself if he tried.

Tyrande Wisperwind, level 75----sigh...poor darnassus, with max population of 5 people at peak hour. Though I did hear quite a few raid wipe from her by the starfall.

Highland Bolvar Fordragon, level 90---if you are alliance come to Stormwind three times a day and watch he kill 7 level 62 Onixya's elite guards by himself and have 80% health left. It has been confirmed by my own eye that he does indeed use divine shield...multiple times in a 10 minute. As far as I know, he is the only boss that will heal himself to full health.

The rest are the bits of information I had with how these bosses fight.

Alliance:

Highlord Bolvar Fordragon----A combination of warrior and paladin, divine shield + cleave + laying of hand? (heal himself to full, but didn't see his mana go down. I want his talent spec!) Summon stormwind guards.

Archbishop benedictus------so far i heard is that he bashes you with his staff and cast holy nova.

King Magni Bronzebeard-----Avatar from Warcraft III. Don't become immune to magic though.

High Tinker Mekkar------no fight heard

Archdruid Faugon Staghelm------been took down a few times, but I don't have any information on him.

Priestess Tyrande Whisperwind---only know she cast starfall sometimes. Summoning darnassus sentienal.

Lady Jaina Proudmoore----Massive AoE at very cramped tower and she will teleport your maintank outside theramore. (Imagining Jaina with a baseball bat and yell "Home Run!") Summoning theramore guard.

Horde:

Lady Sylvanas Windrunner----Shooting arrow with a lot of damage, melee with a sword and teleport around. Summon skeleton guards.

Majordomo Varimathas----no fight recorded

Warchief Thrall---Only saw him fight at distance from the alliance most wanted video. Summon Orgrimar grunts. (He is a platemailed shaman. i don't know whether he cast shocks or not)

Vol`jin-----no fight recorded

Highchieftain Cairne Bloodhoof---Same old Cairne from warcraft III. No rebirth though and the weapon is a giant totem instead of a halberd now.

Racial Leaders should drop something they have/use making raiding more benefical

Cairne should drop His Totem which can be a 2H mace

Thrall should drop his Hammer(mace) which can be a 1h mace or his plate armor

Sylvanas should drop her bow or swords

Varimarthas uses his claws so maybe you can rip out his hands which can be fist eapons

Rexxar can drop his 1h axes

Bolvar can drop a shield or sword

Tyrande could drop her weapon what ever it is she had a bow in Warcraft 3

Magni can drop his Hammar(mace)

Arch Druid Fandal Staghelm could drop a staff or armor or better yet insults

The high Tinker can drop his shield or goggles

The archbishop can drop a staff or cloth armor

Jaina Proudmoore cawn drop her staff, a spell book or cloth armor

few days ago just after the burning crusade came out i caught a glimpse of her summoning four spirits while chanting something. i saw it happening twice. it lasted for a minute or so. the spirits disappeared after a minute, sylvanas called someone named belore and picked up an amulet from the floor. any idea what's up with her?

k arthas had to reviv kel thuzad so he went to quel thlas to use moonwell killed sylvanas brought her back.then in frozen throne lich king needed a new body so he was calling arthas sylvanas allyed with 3 dreadlords left from the legion invasion vamariths deathorc ballanzar they try to kill arthas but he escapes to northren.then she betrays the dreadlords vathimaris begs, they kill deathorc THEN balanzar is "killed" by vathimaris but if you go strathelhome the leader of scarlet crusade turns is really balanzar he turns into him when near death

its weird.. Blizz made her look like a NE since the High Elven NPC's would be made different when TBC came out(now) but they found out she is much more terrifying to look at as a NE model, because of her height compared to a BE/HE. but she was turned UD by Arthas when he went to Quel'Thalas in WC3 to revive Kel'thuzad in the Sunwell, draining the arcane powers that turned the HE/BE to the magic hungering creatures they are, and turned Sylvannas into a banshee under Arthas' control but she broke free because Arthas and The lich King's powers where fading(WC3 TFT missions, human and scourge) so she took over Lordaeron and killed that Lord Garithos guy, Detheroc and got Varimathras to kill his own brother Balnazzar(or, "kill", as some said he is the leader of the new Scarlet Crusade, inside Stratholme Living). since Blizz didnt have any good High Elf looking NPC's except for those from the various Blood Elves scattered around the world, for example Lothos Riftwalker in Blackrock Mountain, the guy you can acces MC trough, was not a pretty looking elf but now is a normal BE, they made her a NE since they are kinda scary looking(well she is, some kind of....) but why didnt they change her? 1: she is huge as a NE. 2: she has those cool markings only NE women can have and she is white/black so she looks awesome. and 3: because the NE woman model was/is the sexiest model of all the women races. hope i helped someone, and myself.. xD

The quest where she summons the Banshees to sing is a BE quest, you find a necklace at Windrunner Spire in Ghostlands, when you return it to her she summons the banshees, oh and its a beautiful song, hang around and listen.

This is weird. Did Blizzard really try to pull this one off in their sleep?

Sylvanas is the sister of Alleria Windrunner, one of the Alliance's heroes from the WC2 expansion who is assumed dead on Dreanor until proven otherwise (come on, Alleria, get back here and set your wayward sister straight). Yes, it's her who is portrayed as the last statue on your right in the Valley of Heroes when you enter Stormwind from Elwynn.

Now, both of the Windrunners were ranger captains from the Quel'Thalas region which is no more since it was decided to punish the highelves for wanting to keep themselves away from all the action in WC3. Bad idea, yes. But that doesn't mean she has to change appearance so much that it looks like she's one of the by far elder nightelves now. And although there's far between them, there is actually highelves stationed in various places. One of them is in the Wizard's Sanctum as a lvl 50 mage trainer. And while she does have the same freakish height and lovely bouncy attitude as an ordinary nightelf female, her long ears do point upwards rather than backwards. And Sylvanas is supposed to be a highelf transformed into a banshee and not just a brooding gigantic nightelf.

So what has happened? I'm out of ideas.
Reducing her to the state she was in when our lovely spoiled brat Arthas transformed her is certainly a no-go. Think of Blind Mary in Duskwood. Brrr. The "dark ranger" from the Frozen Throne still sounds much too mainstream and dorky but I suppose it works and fits for most occasions.

My plea would be that they at least gave her the looks of her highelven brethren and made her drink some Noggenfogger elixir and shrink a little.

Or what?

Plus, she's an elf, a high born elf at that. I wasn't expecting much, heh.

I went in one day on Frostmane and decided to pickpocket her. I got one of those level 45 mushroom food that restores ~2000 HP and approximately 3 silver.

She was killed and transformed into a Banshee by arthas. The lich king controlled her mind.
The lih kings powers were fading. Sylvans took control over her body appearnce. The lich kings power faded even more. The lich king didn't controll her mind anymore. She had a meeting with 3 dreadlords whos plan was to kill arthas. Her banshees trapped arthas while she shoot a paralyzing arrow and was prepared to kill him slowly but Kel'thuzad was there in the right moment and killed the banshees but sylvanas escaped and swore to hunt arthas for the rest of her life. She begun to fight one of the dreadlords, varimthas (spelling?). He begged for his life and echanged it for his loyality. They killed the 2nd dreadlord. And sylvanas said that varimithras should kill his brother to prove his loyality but he doubted for a moment but finished him of anyway. Sylvanas and varimthras formed the Forsaken. Hope that is all :p

I was wondering a couple of things about Lady Windrunner here...First of all, does anyone know what armour she is wearing? The gaunts, belt and boots look like Deathbone(plate)...And the chest does too only it's not the same colour as the actual deathbone chest (it actually matches the gloves and boots)...And the skirt looks like the bottom half of Arugal's Robes...can the chestplate and skirt be obtained by players?

Second, which game was it that she was turned into the Banshee Queen? WC3 or the Frozen Throne expansion?

She got killed by Arthas and was resurected as a Banshee close to Quel'Thalas. She did become to first Banshee. She was Artas loyal servant. But the Lich kings powers were fading so she took control of her body appearance and transformed herself into an High-elf. The Lich kings powers were still weakening. The Lich king controlled every undead units mind but while his powers were fading, Sylvanas begun to think self and not being a "prisoner" :p . So the days passed and it was three Dreadlords wanting to have a meeting with her. Their plan was to kill Arthas but Sylvanas wanted it alone. Her fellow banshees trapped Arthas and Sylvanas shoot a paralyzing arrow so that he couldn't move. But Kel'thuzad and slaughtered all her Banshees but she did escape. Then she fighted all the dreadlords and spared one dreadlords life for echange for his loyality.

That's what happened, and she turned into a Banshee in Reign of Chaos.

In WC3 when Arthas resurrects her as a Banshee she has the Highborn Ghost looks. You know, the ghosts going "Aaahh" and "Oooh" whenever you smach them...

Now she's back to her elf shape? What did I miss?

ok mate thts below me now :)
first of all the night elves HATE the High/blood elves because, when the night elves first bbrought the demons into azeroth using magic, they swore NEVER to use magic again, but one family (the sunstriders (as in kael'thas sunstrider) rejected this, andwere forced to use move to lorderon, they made they home there, by tht time the humans had came along and the high elves taught the humans magic.
and no such thing as high night elf :P
and high elves were NEVER called peace elves, they were lead by kael into outland and they were rewarded with more magic and arcane power they cud ever imagine, and they lef tthe alliance because erm the alliance were bein racist or what ever , but iblizz made a crutial mistake, if the horde Belves still follow kael as there leader, how come they can still kill them in an instance (well perhaps not yet, but soonish)
heres something aswell on how the Belves and draenei fell out, kael lended them his "machine", the exodar, to get to Azeroth, the draenei gave no reason for the jopurneys and left agf=trer having crashed kaels machin, he swore war against the draenic forces and the draenei swore to destroy the burning legion once and for all... ( al thought blizz might want to clarrify some pure histroy on High elves blood elves night elves, the scourge the burning legion and the hatred tht draeni and Belvs have for each other after the both helped eahc other..

I'm just wondering what kind of abilities does she have? Like Tyrande is supposed to have starfall, doing 1500-2500 dmg/tick?

Killed her the other on EU-Hellscream. Had a full raid of players between 55 and 60 (mostly 60) and we took her down very few deaths. Mobhealth estimated her health about 500000 HP and as it has been said previously, she blinks around the room like crazy, making it hard to damage her much. The room has a number of Lv60e guards that will respawn several times over the fight plus she summons a whole bunch of 50+ (non-elite) skeletons. These are however, not immune to magic as I spent most of the raid clearing out her summons and I'm a mage. Because of this, I can't say much about her damage, though she does some AoE that seems to do decent damage. The only thing I can say is that the people who died were ambushed by guards or her summons and not due to her direct action.

I believe that they key to defeating her is to leave Varimathras alone, which we did, he was still alive and unaggroed when we all hit the portal and left. Pulling Sylvanas without aggroing Varimathras is fairly easy, just have the entire raid hug the left wall on her chamber, move around, killing guards until she is between you and Varimathras. From that vantage point, she is pullable without any problems. She gave one HK: Leader, 360-somthing honor points and apparently 20-somthing gold to one of the parties.

What's the quest where Sylvanas summons banshees to sing?

First, you need to get the item, The Lady's Necklace (Item Link). It drops off of the level 14-15 Deatholme Acolytes and Fallen Rangers at the Windrunner Spire (15,55) in the Ghostlands. Right-Click on the item in your bag to begin the level 15 quest titled, "The Lady's Necklace" (Quest Link).

Take the necklace to High Executioner Mavren (44,32) at Tranquillien. Talk to Mavren again to start the quest "Journey to Undercity" (Quest Link).

Take the necklace to Lady Sylvanas Windrunner in Undercity.

NOTE: Make sure that "Enable Music" is checked (turned on) in Sound Options before you turn in.

i have played all Warcraft games.. even WoW .. so i know.. arthas actually won her in dalaran.. she asked him to kill her fast .. but he said " i'd rather prefer to make you suffer..Windrunner " so then she was transformed into a forsaken.. Getting this chance.. Arthas-The Black Knight.. went to quel'thalas to destroy the Sunwell.. ( Not Moonwell.. Moonwell is at Darnassus ) Getting the power of the Sunwell for that to revive a Lich king called Kel'Thuzad.. Kel'Thuzad was ruled by a ice brain or something like that.. dont remember too well.. When windrunner died.. her friends were transformed into banshees.. Windrunner swore to have vengeance.. so then she find Arthas in Eastern Plaguelands ( Not Western ) and she
Shoot him an Poisoned Arrow so then she says " Now Pay me.. this arrow will first make u feel bad.. then you will realize you power is being drained.. your powers flows around you.. then it gets to me.. so i can absorb it and make you pay for this betray.. dont you remember our goods time? before u pick that sword and make your best friend, ( A Dwarve ) Died.. u offered him to gain the power.. you killed your own father and then now You're a king ? well not for long.. you have 3 days until you get a cure.. Lets see if you can find Azjol'Nerub.. kill a Rounding Scarab and get her sting.. the potion if the thing that you have to make.. if u heal this arrow will be useless.. but if not.. you will.. DIE "
At the end of this he finds the sting.. but was too late.. he just died.. And guys this is the end of WC3: Frozen Throne.. Arthas was a Human.. Him friend ( i dont remember name ) Was a dorf.. and Lady Sylvanas Windrunner was once a High Night elf.. sitted right next to Tyrande Whisperwind and Furion Stormrage.. This called Furion Stormrage is brother of Illidan Stormrage.. but even they are
family Tyrande.. His wife.. wished to free Illidan more then he does.. when she free him she realize what she do was a Mistake.. she free him.. so now he is Hidded in Outland.. waiting for a idiot mortal to enter His realm.. And here is Something u guys should know.. is SUNWELL not Moonwell.. whatever these Blood Elf were called Peace Elves.. they were Alliance.. but they switched to horde .. because they wished to get their energy back.. arthas and they maked a deal " If You.. Peace Elves.. switch to the Horde and being called Blood Elf.. you will get more power than the expected.. our power sources are more powerfull than the
sunwell.. feel free to choose " so they choose horde and here we are.. Hearing the lament of Lady.. Because she lost all what she had.. Blood Elves.. Once Called Peace Elves.. gave her the amulet.. which was lost in Ghostlands.. and this is all.. im not giving quest info.. im just telling the true story.

If she is that powerful, and near invulnerable, does that mean she drops awesome loot ?

And if she does, what does she drop? If it is anything below spectacular i don't see the reason why you would put in the effort to get beaten by horde players, and 2 SUPER bosses..

heh...this is the most stupid boss i ever met...I was a lvl 60 warrior and i had a lot of health potions...in about 15 minutes i have beaten her...all by myself
