One of my favorite items from the Scarlet Monastery along with https://www.wowhead.com/classic/item=23192. Makes your character look really neat. Has good stats to boot. Pretty easy to obtain. Mograine drops is quite frequently.

This sheild is one of the best sheilds to have while leveling from 39-49. The stats rock and the armor is extremely high. It doubled my armor when i got it at level 39. This item is easy to get too, its in SM cathedral one of the main bosses has a good drop rate for it. I use this and the curve-bladed ripper, which is a great combo. Warrior(stam+strength+agility=)crit dps.

This is the shield to have for paladins starting at level 39. I don't have one myself and have regretted it somewhat, since it would greatly boost my block abilities.

If you are leveling a shammy as elemental, this is also pretty neat item to have, tho rolling on it when the tank needs it is something I wouldn't do. Combined with hypnotic blade from libary gives u a pretty solid set for ele, which at level 39 starts to pay of as you can digg up to lightning mastery. Still, enh is the way to go at lower levels due to less itemisation/down time problems

Just picked up this shield for use when my paladin needs to heal - the added armor is amazing!

Just to let you guys know, I got this my first Cath run, and I am still using at at Level 52!. It will last you a good while, it is a very good shield. Doesn't look bad either.

Ninja's are annoying but it dosent break the terms of use, so reporting it to a GM will only be embarassing.

I've run SM cath probably about 20 times now with my shammy... the first time it drops I roll need... and so does a hunter. He wins and hearths out...

Now I feel sick. I'm gonna need to lie down. Thanks.

(Yeah yeah, it was a pug, so sue me... I'm on a new server, and it's hard to get a group together.)

i did 20+ runs through cath to get this then i finaly get it and i got through one more time and guess what happens it drops again lol

I just got a run through SM with a 60 Warrior and This shield dropped and Hand of Righteousness

2 Priest were also in our group and they passed and I rolled NEED so I got both. Sweet weapon and armor. I can't use till 39. Im 36 Tauren Shaman.

Yes, it's kinda weird why the drop % is different between the same boss. :S
Got in on my first run though (no shaman or another warrior in the group :P).

i agree with a post FAR above me which says "wtf is this with one scarlet commander drops it 200% an the other like 30%" its true. every monser in thottbot has some error clones or what the hell. like if u write for ex: Scarlet centuiron theres going to be 6 different Centurions with different lvls and droprates and all that crap. wth is all that about.

Consider what a pally/warrior do, if they are protection. ALthough it is undoubtably a good shield, Shammys need to pass it if a prot pally or prot warrior wants it. Its just considerate, considering that they really want armor, and shammies dont need shields as bad a pally/warrior. Now of course if the tankd eosnt need or you are the only tank, then of course you can roll. Consider priority when rolling, who really benefits the most? Even if it is a improvement for most shammies, it is a huge improvement to warriors/pallies. This got ninjad by some druid on our run, which was inconsiderate, considering it is BoP and only worth 50s if that. Dissapointing to see that...

just dropped from Mograine and some ghey lvl 59 warrior rolled on it (bop) as he "needs the money for mount"
What, sell it for 90s... fugging great.
I would have payed him 2g for him NOT to roll
His other excuse was that i wasnt a guildmate, ergo, my N doesnt count.

I got like 1400+ sheild and when we were doing SM with random people..and this dropped at end with the Hand of Righteousness, then some of from group (it was rogue or shaman) said that "I need for sell" when all greeded. and rogue needed healing dragger on library :'D and ninjaed all the chest's..

For a 39 Shaman, this will possibly triple your AC.
For a 40 Shaman, this will only double it, but its still freaking pwnage.

Currently using this + The Shatterer in PVP.

Man it seems every time i come in cath it never drops onlt the amulet drops and that cloth helm someday it will drop and i will need if i have to lol

I got this last night on a SM Cath run. I didn't realize until this shield dropped, but I was the only shield-user in the party (Paladin (me), Hunter (melee/pet spec), Rogue, Druid (healer spec), Mage) so I got it (passed on the Amulet of the Triune to be fair). I am lvl 42 and this shield rocks! It almost doubled my armor rating (wearing a mix of Green Iron and Heavy Mithril armor pieces until I complete my Mithril Order quests for Ornate Mithril gear). I pair this with the Hand of Righteousness and I barely got scratched the rest of the night (unless 3 or more elites were on me at once). The high armor rating makes it easier to heal while fighting without taking a drubbing. Great, great shield!

This is such a good shield but I got a funny story about it. When I did Cath for like the first time I was winning rolls left and right and we finally got to the main guy and his gf, we killed them both and a necklace and this dropped. I won the roll for the necklace and since I was the only shield user in the grp (no pally, im alliance)I helped myself. In the middle of no where the rouge goes "NO !" and hearths out. Like a minute later she was like "You @$$ ! I was going to use that for my alt!"..... some people shouldn't even be playing this game. (I told her it was BOP :P)

Hehehehe i was doin SM cath and this dropped and i won roll=)! Then our priest looted Whitemane and the Hand of righteoussness or somethin dropped i won to! My elemental shaman is ownin alliance ass in PvP.

I got this drop yesterday when I asked some 60 guildies to run me through SM to get the quests done. Doubled my armor. I'm still using some outdated equipment though. I'd love to get Scarlet Leggings, Herod's Shoulder, The Ravager, and Scarlet Leggings though.

I just made lvl 39 a few hrs ago and am currently using this awesome shield and the awesome mace Hand Of Righteousness that Whitemane drops. For shammy, they make a very good pair together and are very effective. At 38, i had 797 armor, and now i have 2726! Now that's a difference. Not gonna be replacing this lovely little shield for while :)

Ive already got this. Its a nice shield, looks nice too, but i want the scarlet commander to drop me the friggin Raveger, cause the Bonebiter looks crap and the Ravegers chance on hit is golden.

I have used this shield for tanking since L36
(now 52). It has literally made the difference
between life and death many times over, in SM,
ZF, and the Temple. I would wager that this
is an essential piece of equipment for any
young warrior in their mid to late 30's.

i thought hunters cant use shields... and it does sell for 1g+... ez money, but u still should let ppl who need it hav it first, b4 rolling to vendor
