This awesome consumable has been changed (nerfed).

Not too sure if it's implemented in patch 2.0 already, but it will restore less energy: 60 energy at lvl 60 and scaling down to ultimately restore 40 energy at level 70.
(This is taken from second hand testing)

While the druid Cat form does use energy a druid cannot use potions, food, drink while in animal form. So no, a druid in cat form cannot use it. FYI, a druid in Bear form cannot use a rage potion either.

Word on the street is that the recipe will be available eventually at a vendor in Ravenholdt Manor (that secret rogue place in Hillsbrad).

I wonder if they'll just anyone buy the recipe, or can you buy as many as you want and let your guild cooks have it?

Curently any class can learn the recipe.

Is there any way for a non-Rogue to get this recipe? I have heard a few people say they have done it a certain way, but they won't say how.

I've tried going to Kendor Kabonka in Stormwind city because I've seen many website say that he has the recipe, but he doesn't.

Is it possible to make a Rogue and go to the Ravenholdt Manor and buy the recipe and then trade it to my main character?

Any tips or information regarding how to obtain it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I'm on the Horde side so I'll be speaking on behalf of the Horde. Go to the Dornhold keep. collect those patches the humaniods are wearing. If you're a rogue it helps to use pickpocket. btw, this place is also great for lockpicking. anyway...the idea is to collect about 30 patches. Once you've done that head towards Ravenhold manor which is directly north of the keep and slightly west. speak with one of the soldiers and give him the patches. At that time you should be honored. You will then be able to obtain thistle tea recipe in the basement.

Yes...this can be used in combat. Yes, this is a very hot selling product for those who have the recipe. The recipe itself from Ravenholt is soulbound. The tea gives energy not mana. It's probably best to just look in AH for it.

its a quest reward for the rogue poison quest so its souldbound. it can be bought from a vendor in hillsbrad, but only rogues are able to buy it from him. only rogues can use the actual tea.

Guys you can purchace at Ravenholdt no matter what faction you are, im horde and walked in and bought it for 2 silver...not hard..you all are "special"

For everyone wondering, I'm pretty sure the recipe is just invisible, in the merchant's item list, to all but the Rogue class. We've seen this functionality elsewhere: the level 60 PVP armor vendor in each faction's respective officer lounge.

No camping required, no sharing allowed. You've gotta be a rogue and you've gotta buy it with that character -- if you happen to somehow end up without the recipe from the quest.

I am not 100% sure of this.

edit: I somehow missed tides' comment from one year ago. Anyway, I believe he's correct.

meh...brewed up a stack yesterday...went without it for so long, it seems a shame to start using it now, because I'll get used to it, then dependent, and then when I have none, I'll be screwed...plus I haven't had practice at effectively using it...oh well

I am pretty sure that the cooldown is 2 minutes, but unlike mana potions it doesn't share a timer with healing potions so you can burn a healing potion then an energy potion and rule your target. :-)

They totally screwed this one in one of the patches. Instead of restoring 100 energy, it seems to only do 52 energy on my level 64 rogue. :-(

I think it has a 3 minute cooldown. So it's not something you can just spam, but it can get you out of a tight spot. If you keep plenty with you and just treat it as an ability (as far as cooldown is concerned) it works well. As a rogue, when you do 4 backstabs in 2 seconds or so it can be very nice :)
