This quest is a pain in the butt. To obtain the quest, you must climb above the first cave. When you look at the hill the cave is in, you will notice it has 2 "eye sockets" get on top of the sockets and jump down to the ledge for the left eye. You will find inside the eye a tiny room where there will be NPCs. The quest is off of one of the guys (a diff. guy in there will allow you to buy the other patterns right off of him for a few silver). Once you get the quest, all the things needed for the quest (killing seven things of four types of deviates) are INSIDE the instance. The vipers are a bit rough to find, as it looks like a dead end. Jump down into the water and go West to get there. They are all in the instance, so do not make the mistake of looking outside it for any of them. Good luck.

Yes, it is very good for 18, but it will be very, very hard to get the proper mats :P, good luck

This belt is sweet, no doubt about that. And yes, it was a pain in the arse getting to the left cave above WC main entrance - but that is nothing compared to how big a pain it is to get the mats. I've run WC about 5 times now, and the scales drop so infrequently that I only have 5 of each kind of scale needed. BAH !

i didnt know about this quest at the lvl, im now lvl 33, will i still be able to get the quest?

You need to skin EVERYthing skinnable w/in the instance. After a run (yes, had a babysitter w/ my hunter) I ended up w/ a stack of scales (20) and 6 perfect scales. had I not been rushed, might have gotten enough for the belt--but we didn't know there was a quest there, and, being alliance, rushed through the entrance PDQ--missed it. Might need to go back.

Sometimes when you skin teh Deviate Ravagers they drop Deviate scales. Mostly leather. But you CAN get Deviate scales by skinning as well as drops. It's nto going to get you much more, but after 3 WC runs I have 20 deviate scales and 8 perfect deviate scales.
AFAIK you only get deviate scales through skinning, I can't recall getting a perfect that way, but they drop rarely already so maybe I just haven't gotten lucky.

mats are such a pain to get, buts its definately worth it cuz you will be able to sell it for a bunch of money....on my 42 hunter, i ran WC a couple times (not the bosses, just the deviate stuff) and got 46 deviate scales and 8 perfect deviate scales, the perfects are like a 5% drop rate....and btw, i got most of the scales from skinning, but they drop too

What if i go to WC with my lv 54 warrior and do the quest.

( i dont have leatherworking as prof but something else)

and when im done with the quest i chose for the pattern....is it soulbound the minute you agree to chose the pattern or can i send the pattern to others who are in need of it?

Hmmm... i dunno actually if it's soulbound or not... it doesn't have the "Binds when picked up" slogan for quest items... I think you have to do the quest and see... But i would really like the pattern... Just getting there would be my main concern

I went to WC on my AC character to the quest for it. to get inside the eyes you have to cilmb up the hill and then jump down on to the ledge. the way i got up was if u look at the entrance to the cave from the front then go to the right side of the cave and try to find a way up the hill and then eventually u can get to the top of the cave then walk bit by bit till u fall of the ledge onto another ledge and then do it again. BUT make sure u line ur self up with the RIGHT eye when you are jumping down. Then jump down and u are on the same ledge as the eye then walk in and talk to the guy and he gives u the quest =) AC players can get the quest becuse the NPC's are neutral. Happy Hunting

At level 30+ IF you ARE EVER in DESPERATE NEED OF MONEY, Get the recipe and SELL IT! I was bored on my 60 hunt so I ran over did the quest and sold the recipe to some idiot for 80g. Boy. EZ Money

to get to the quest guy its in the eye to the left if your facing the entrance. to get in the eye go around the mountain and climb it. the path is kinda easy to find. the fall on the nose then jump into the eye. theres a journeyman LW trainer supplier with the cloak and gloves patterns and 2 quests there. the patterns sell for bout 1g (the normal ones not the belt) and the belt pattern is worth bout 19-30g.

I don't know about everyone else, but it seems to me that the scales aren't that hard to get and the belt is REALLY overpriced. I'm on Arie Peak and Alteric Valley and you can obviously see the price difference. AV its about 2-8g. AP its about 40-120g. I found that my first run through on my BE rouge that i got 4 perfect and 6 normal deviate scales and I didn't even get all the way through because my group just fell apart, I only went in about 1/4 of the way and got that many. Seems easy to me. Happy Hunting

this is definitely a quest reward from some neutral guys above WC entrance (my main has gotten the quest) and i plan to make one of these babies for my rogue twink cuz its one of the best rogue belts for this lvl

it's in the same place where you get the two quests in that little alcove above the enterance to WC. I got it the first time I asked the merch. Lucky me, be cause i've made about 100g from selling these things

I don't know about it dropping inside the cave but I got a drop of it off a Kolkar centaur in The Barrens once.
