Interesting item. There are not many items that do periodic damage to the user but items like this can be extremely useful. This can be used to break polymorph, freezing trap, seduce, gouge, sap etc. but can't be used while affected by these already so you need to active it before getting for example sheeped or trapped.

This works as a buff so you can remove the effect whenever you want to avoid extra damage. Also remember that in the expansion you will have a lot more HP and this becomes even more usefull. Oh and the speed buff is nice too :]

Definetely an item to keep. As I said, not many items like this exist and this might become extremely valuable (if it's not already for someone).

Might be handy for breaking Aran's polymorph and running out of line of sight so his pyroblast doesnt hit you. Will have to test this.

We had a good preset raid in WG against a good alliance preset. Their druid had broken into the open and was going up top to capture our last flag. I had the crazy idea to equip this thing (which I only use very occasionally to catch the elevators in the UC :P) and run up the tunnel.

I got to the flag one second before he and his entourage did and was out of the building before they knew what had happened. We got our flag back and won the game.

Still not nearly an everyday item, but not completely without use ;)

This is my favorite item itll help u catch that dam boat, and when u use it u make chicken noises. When used u make a chicken noise then if u stop u make the same sound as /chicken. Very funny item very useful and having no hp doesnt help at all. If you use and it deals too much for u to handle right click it in the top right of ur screen. This will cancel the good and bad effects. Also if u have resuruection sickness u only take 25% damage from this item since the damage is self inflicted.

Edit: O i forgot something if this item kills you you wont take durability damage so if ur getting killed by something and u use ull either get away or dieing without ur stuff getting hurt.

In Warsong Gulch this could be a very useful item. When a player tries to grab the flag and run, his/her success or failure often depends on whether or not the other side can get that one movement slowing/immobilizing spell off so the rest of the team can catch up. When used to catch a flag runner, this is like a mount except that:
1) it is instant, which gives you 3 extra seconds (a HUGE difference in this situation),
2) it can be used indoors, which allows you to use it earlier, giving the runner less time to get away,
3) you can attack or cast instant cast spells while running, and
4) it lasts only 10 seconds and probably kills you, which is not as big a deal as it sounds. There are probably one or more other players also chasing the flag runner who will kill him/her very easily if you get that one spell off and they catch up. It takes, on average, 15 seconds to revive with full health and mana in WSG, so you'll be ready to defend again before too long.

If you are the flag runner, well, I don't think we need to discuss how beneficial a speed boost is to a flag runner. Just be sure a healer is ready to heal you on the way out.

That being said, if you use this item anywhere besides WSG, you are probably insane, desperate, or both.

I thought about one more thing this item could be used for -

If you're a rogue/paladin/warrior dueling or fighting a hunter, this trinket could be a great way to break the hunter's traps.

Yes, it will damage you for approximately 1500 damage (500 to 2500), but think about it this way - if you're stuck in a freezing trap and the hunter takes his time to get 35-41 yards away, get the hamstring/poisons off him and then aimedshot->multishot, your chance would be much lower than it would if you started with about 1500 HP less.

Using this item smartly and at the right time will get you out of at least one trap, and easily two of them.

Breaking two hunter traps, each one in a matter of second or two, means victory.

That, at least, from the point of view as a warrior - myself being one. I don't know much about rogues, but when I fight hunters they usually get a few thousands of damage at me only due to the traps.

Fighting a hunter with 1500 HP less, especially for a warrior, is not that bad at all if that means the warrior can keep the hunter in melee from the beginning and practically disable trapping.
In fact, I'm dubious I could possibly lose to any hunter if I use this trinket.

This item has saved me ~50g in repair bills. When someone make a stupid pull in MC, BWL etc, just equip this, use it and die. Voila!

Uhh yeah, about the skull, becasue it can deal up to 500dmg per tick, its not exactly designed for lower lvls but it is great for 60's, dont believe me just watch swiftys vid on google, it is a very good item, highly underrated.

I have a 60 Druid (Horde) on the same server that swifty has, And yes it's true he is the best Warrior ever. I dueled him 4 times and I won only once, and he lagged at a key moment when He should of intercepted my heal. On this item, I have it also, and let me tell you, It is GODLY.

In wsg's its VERY good because you only need to put a dot heal on yourself, and zoom ahead. I use this skull of impending doom when I fight rogues also, Nothing is scarier then a Normal form druid zipping around you at 40 MPH slaming you with his MSA.

I highly recomend ALL level 60's regardless of class get this, But you realy have to know when to use it and when to cancel the effect, Because belive me, When It ticks for 500, AND IT HAS done it for me, It hurts. Bad. You just need to R-Click the Icon in top right and you'll be good as new but you always have to know wether your low on health and realy when to activate it. Overall, Very nice pvp Kinda(trinket) sorta.

I am a druid and when i used this it did well over 500 dmg every 2 seconds...

does having + to spell dmg increase the damage it deals to you every 2 seconds?

I'm in an end game raiding guild that does parts of naxx, and is to c'thun in aq40. Anyone in a guild like this will know that, with the gear required to do these dungones, repairs can be a pain and wipes will be very common in learning new encounters. Repairs get up to 1.5g-2g+ a death (in leather for me, a rogue). At fully broken, my bill can sometimes be around 20g. (Nothing compared to a plate-wearer, but pricey nonetheless)

Many of the rogues have chosen to get this item and, while it may seem useless and stupid, it can save a TON of money if used right. If it's about to be a wipe, find a way to get low hp, pop the skull, hide in a corner and let it do it's job. As long as the skull kills you, you take no durability damage and are repair-free for that wipe. It takes some practice getting the timing right to equip it so you can use it when you need to, but I'd say it's well worth it considering the amount of money saved when using this thing.

Useless? Most definitely not!

The best use for this off-hand is actually incredibly useful and easy. When you are about to die quickly pop the use of this off-hand and make sure it is the cause of your death. It counts as a suicide and as every warlock knows, when you kill yourself with spells or abilities...You take no durability loss. This is especially good for raiding and wipes on new bosses etc. Anyone who wendors this item made a huge mistake.

This item is losing much of its usefulness for BGs in 2.0.1. 2.0.1 Patch Notes

"The "Skull of Impending Doom" has been changed and will now increase run speed by 60% for 10 seconds, but deals damage equal to 60% of your maximum health and drains 60% of your maximum mana for over 10 seconds."

sux, why use this and lose hp/mana, quest the nifty stopwatch, same durations, only slightly less movement, and doesn't hurt you. im looking up reward because i have this quest, and am now gunna drop the quest. the only thing this would have going for it is you could use it to keep up with mount players outside of combat, but if you have mount its trash. by time you can solo this quest you'll probabaly have mount, then only point of this is to use it in combat to get away, but it hits you for 500-1k dmg, if your weak it'll just kill you. maybe others are more desperate to run faster then i am, i have stopwatch, engineer jet boots, and mount. even if you dont have what i have, you should get stopwatch first at the least, then this if you still want something else and not minding the dmg

i wouldnt ever use this, taking up to 1k dmg to run faster for 10 secs is no thanks, i think i'd less less dmg from the mobs im outrunning. rather hit my jet boots to run faster for up to 20secs, and risk losing control for few secs.

Took me a bit to get this figured out, and I've seen others asking on the vid site, so I know I'm not the only one who was intrigued by that.

Basically, the glowing hands are a client side bug...meaning YOU are the only one that will see them. Think about it...server side, that would just be way too cool and Bliz would have that bug fixed so fast it would make your head spin. But boy does it look cool playing with glowing hands, even if I'm the only one that sees 'em. Not sure I like the sound of the spell stuck in perma-lag that goes with it though.

OK, to get the glow:

#1 GET A POTION...look at the buffs in the video...Swifty has AGI, STR, and...not sure the 3rd, my graphics just show me a blur for the 3rd. The AGI and STR buffs are bottle-buffs. Potions.

#2 Get a scroll that does the same buff.

I did this with a 23 rogue. Elixer of Agility, up. Scroll of Agility...cast scroll on me & run. WOOT! Glowing ...YELLOW? hands. Hmm...Expected green.

Glowing hands lasted after the potion wore off. But that annoying spell sound was going whole time. I made sure to check with another player since I'd read that nobody else could see, and he confirmed that with no prompting. My hands looked totally normal to him. It's a spell-cast bug that only you can see. But is cool for making vids :-)

Edit: Adding note that Scroll of Agility is not as powerful as the Elixir. Haven't tried messing around with higher leve toons and scrolls that are more powerful than the potions.

i actuly found this very usefull in wsg, grab the flag, grab the speed boost, use the skull, nobody can catch you.... havnt tried it as a druid, not sure how it all would stack, also not sure if it stacks with the nifty stopwatch, id imagine it wouldnt

It doesnt actually make you invulnerable to blind, gouge etc. It just does damage to you, causing the effect to break, and you can just right click on the buff icon in order to take of the effect, so you dont have to loose 60% of ur health

Quick guide to get this item, from start to finish:

1. Pick up and do 51.4, 77.0 in Badlands. Go to the main entrance of Uldaman, pass the mobs, and when you see the portal turn left and follow the path. Should be easy with questie. Loot the chest and return to where you got the quest from.

2. Accept , and turn it in at the respective city.

3. Accept . It requires you to kill and loot Grel'borg The Miser in Alterac Mountains, Dagun The Ravenous in Dustwallow Marsh and Mogh The Undying in STV. From Ironforge, I flew to Southshore, ran to Alterac Mountains and killed Grel'borg, then ran back to Southshore and flew to Menethil Harbor and took the boat to Dustwallow Marsh. I then ran north along the coast to kill Dagun, and kept running North to Ratchet to take the boat to booty bay, and ran to and killed Mogh. Make sure to loot them all.

I spammed this macro to target them and mark them with a skull:

/tar grel
/tar mogh
/tar dagun
/tm 8

4. Hand in the quest, and accept , and hand that in back where the chain began in Badlands to recieve 末日颅骨
