40 light leather /5 = 8 medium leather /4 = 2 h eavy leather

something like that... leather workers can make light into heavy. not sure on how many light per med, or how many med per heavy. but that's the basic idea.

Where have you found the 10 slot patterns? I can't find it from the trainers in the major cities.

they will sell for 70s but for 45 you still make a profit and you build up the tailoring skill points from just buying the raw materials from auction
at 45 silver they also sell very fast (sold 10 before i got to gnomergon from auction)

3 Ruined leather scraps =1 light leather
4 light leather = 1 medium leather
5 medium leather = 1 heavy leather
6 heavy leather = 1 thick leather
6 thick leather = 1 rugged leather

In my experience, I've been selling these off at anything from 60 Silver to 75 without much trouble. On my server, there's usually a low amount of these on AH at any time and I've made a reputation of sort as the only one keeping a constant stock.

Now, this is only based on my server, but if I buy the mats from AH, I have to make a ton to make a profit.

For example, you need 3 Bolts of Silk Cloth to do it. That's 12 Silk Cloths. Buying 20 on AH usually costs around 70 S, varying from 60 to 80 depending on if you're shopping prime-time or not.

Heavy Leather is a killer. I never buy it unless I have to, seeing as it is my alt doing the making and my main who's gathering the mats. These beasts can go at up to 1 G for 20 pieces. Seriously, do not pay for these unless they're at a more reasonable ~60 S.

So, to the fun part.

Let's say we're selling 10 of these Bags.

First you'll need 120 Silk. That's about 3.9 G
20 Heavy Leather is 60 S, 51 S for Threads, 40 S for putting them up for 8 hours. Once sold, you will have gotten 6.5 G

Thus, for 10 sold bags, your profit will be 1.09 G. Not much, but if you persevere, as well as manage to get the silk and leather by yourself, you will make a sweet profit. And besides, there's almost always a need for 10-slot bags.

Some boneweasel put up a bunch of these on the Alliance Feathermoon AH today at 1g75s. So I made a bunch myself and undercut him by 1g, at a more reasonable 75s. (And my alt made a few more skill points in tailoring.)

The scary thing is that he was undercutting someone who had them up at 2g.

Going rate on my server is usually 80s, so if he had put them up at 1g, I probably wouldn't have minded too much. I'm all for making a few silver in profit, but he was way over the line.

Just you know, the skill level to craft this is 150 not 170. if it was 170 i never would have been able to craft these before i unlocked the Expert Tailoring level. and i was crafting these when I capped out my skill in Journeyman Tailoring.

170 is when it is a green skill, not when you can first craft it. Allakhazam has green skills (ie. when it won't raise your skill as much as it would if it was harder to do.

There are some easy to obtain 10-slot bags from Questing.

守夜人的麻袋 from killing 20 Plague Spreaders questline (Hunters may opt to take the Ammo/Quiver Bags)
变异皮包 Quest Reward from Wailing Caverns (may require 2 runs to complete)
污泥覆盖的背包 from wetlands quest

Some low % drops which you will come across while farming:
地狱战马的鞍囊 Drops from Fel Steed inside Shadowfang Keep
帆布背包 Drops from Foe Reaver in Westfall (Rare spawn)
蛇皮袋 Drops from a boss in Wailing Caverns
