So my Guild went to Naxx for the first time ever, and just to note.. It was VERY VERY FUN.

Diffently since this dropped, and no one wanted it.. at all.. Because no one was fire Specced.

I asked for it, got it on default.. Not a Strong Fire Spec, but dam, i am not going to let this ring go to waste.

This is my spec. This is mathematically the best damage build in the game, and secondarily focuses on mana conservation. I outdamage all rogues in MC (yeah, the fire mage gets the highest damage in MC).

Just get imp scorch stacked 5 times and spam fireball for 24 seconds or so. Also, make a macro to whisper a priest for power infusion and cast combustion simutaneously.

Dropped it yesterday in the deathknight wing. I'm a warlock destruction specced, and it's a quite good ring even for me. No mage wanted it !

Our guild did naxx for the first time, we were clearing the trashmobs in deathknight wing with 15 ppl and this ring dropped on the first pack of mobs :). I got outrolled by another mage by 4, ouch :p

And btw to Zaerath, I have the exact same spec :) It is idd one of the best pve fire specs there is imo.

they didnt have only 2/3 the damage. I have only one epic from MC so far (the mageblade, actually, which is a great first epic). however, i am willing to bet that my damage is as great as your ice mages going into nax. Do you want to know why?

With equipment/talents, my fireballs hit for 1450-1700 noncrit (COE, imp scorch, fire power talent, 408 +damage). That's right, noncrit. guess what else, they crit for 210% damage because of ignite, and they have critical mass (+6% crit).

But that's not all!

Ignite stacks between mages!
In fact, 4 of the mages in my guild are fire and have combustion. We synchronize combustion to allow ignite to stack more many times amoung us. The one who crits first to start the ignite stack will eventually pull aggro and die, but to do 5000 damage per 2 seconds is worth it.

If your ice mages all switched to fire for one instance, they would all realize what idiots they've been since level 10 when they decided on frost.

Succesfully 2-man farmed the ring for me. can be done by anyone who got nax attunement done, but ranged dps preferred.

its all mine ( average fireball - 1150 around there ) ( average frostbolt 940ish ) i know its all fire damage but even sacrificing my frost damage ring it dosnt matter ( I was frost spec ) any mage should pick this up even if there frost because u have 2 fire spells u may use in a instance ( scorch / fireblast instant cast ) and scorch if ur low on mana just throwing up dps. the only time u wouldnt bid is if u had something better as a frostmage with same damage to all around spells ( like ring of spell power which i also have ) ( +33 damage to all ) but this also gives +1% to hit which is decent and 10int w/e but all around this ring is prolly the best for all mages unless as a frost mage u have something better but if nobody else wants it ....take it dont let it get sharded ...

You are in Nax and your fireball hits for 1150?

Go fire spec, and get some gear. Like I said before, I have only 1 item from MC, and my fireball now hits 1100-1300 (and 1360-1600 with full raid debuffs). If you go fire spec, you can do so much more damage than frost. And with burning soul and blessing of salvation you get 60% threat reduction. I never pull aggro off bosses, and only rarely off trash mobs (and thats when I use combustion with power infusion and get multiple 3k fireball crits BEFORE stacked ignites).

If you're in nax, you can easily get gear to have fireballs in excess of 2k noncrit. Stop hiding behind your sissy ice block and do real damage. And suck it up and die if something goes wrong. Fire = much more damage

all u guys saying fire is the only way in naxx obviously havent been there only place u need fire dmg is in frostwyrm lair = the last 2 bosses so guys u can handle in naxx with frost and on my guilds (ps we killed � the bosses so not just trash mobs wipage im talking about) dmg meters its not the fire mages on top its the both frost and fire mages and whos the only one to have mana left after long fights like patchwerk? FROST.

but yeah fire is great too but imo both trees are great we tried rolling fire all the mages in guild at the same time and had some 15k dmg per 2 sec rolling but after that u had � the mages left and not enough dmg for the rest of the fight.

Most mages in top guilds are fire, there's no debate to be had, fire does a lot more damage because of rolling ignites and other reasons. If you're a frost mage in a Naxx guild, you are gimping your guild.

Drops of most trash mobs in naxx, great fire mage or destro lock ring. 34 fire damage and 1 crit is very nice, even has some int to top things of.

It dropped off one of the little undead trash guys before Razuvius in the Deathknight wing. All it needs is some stam and it would be perfect. Unfortunately I lost almost 100 HP by equipping this ring, but +dmg uber alles, right?

Won today vs the only other fire spell using caster in raid (mage)... dropped off of trash clearing up to 2nd boss in spider wing..
