Most classes use their tier 3 ring to keep a set bonus of tier 3 while wearing some better non-set pieces in their place. Priests, however, have some pretty garbage set bonuses that aren't worth wearing any inferior pieces for, including the ring. Better rings drop from Anub'Rhekan and Huhurran.

this set is oly good for supporting party members .... you know with the talent silent resolve and this set (the thread reduction) you can heal nearly anyone in your group without taking aggro .... therefor its realy nice if you got a good tank in your raid ....

This set isn't as bad as you guys put it.

You are a priest your job is to heal. Even in BG if you heal you get a lot more honor then if you try to kill people. Yes I'm sure there is a video of some shadow priest that is killing a lot of people. Those people that he is killing probably suck. Anyhow, heal...you are a priest that is what you do. If you want to dps reroll a lock or something.

I actually like the reduced threat built in as a set bonus. I think Silent Resolve is useless unless you are a small time guild with a crappy tank and your raid is horrible. If you think about it you are fighting with 39 other people for aggro. If you pull it then wow grats your guild will break up soon.

Anyhow, I think this set is pretty decent

That mentality of shadow priests being dominate or more useful is more of a bending of truth. Shadow priests can dps single targets and they do quite well. The problem is that spot that you are taking in a raid is for a healer. That spot is better allocated to a holy priest not a shadow one. Seeing that most fights later in the game isn't about tank and spank. You can still get away with a shadow priest in Molten Core solely because that instance is a joke. But as you travel and fight harder and harder bosses a priest is a lot more useful as a strong healer than a strong dps class.

In PVP a priest would get a lot more hk and honor if you were a holy priest healing the hell out of a warrior with a huge sword or warlock that has insane ammount of damage gear. The problem with a priest is that they are really good on 1 on 1. But rarely is that the case in PVP. Don't let a video of a shadow priest taking on more than one target fool you. Those opponents he is against are probably new players that don't know how to pvp.

The reason that a holy priest is more powerful than a shadow priest simply lies in the fact that they can live a lot longer. Holy priests can out heal the dps applied by a shadow priest. Ever try dueling a holy priest as a shadow priest? a "Skilled" one at that. The Shadow priest will end up crying because they can't out damage the holy priests healing power.

Anyhow what you mention is a misconception. Even in BG a priest would gain more hk by healing the heavy dps classes and keeping up the tanks that are taking the beatings.

im a shadowpriest. I have a full healing set and a full pvp set, i dps in like bwl and mc, aq20, zg, whenever we have enough healers, i cant really compete with the dps we have, b/c well, we have insane dps from mages, and im upping the warlock dps. i heal with vamp embrace. last night in aq20, i got 3rd on the healing charts and the only fight i was out of shadowform and healing was on rajaxx. other than that i was vamp embrace healing my group. so i mean.

either way, i'd take faith, hell, i'll take any kind of healing gear, because i do heal as well, its not all about OMG, HOLY PRIESTS ARE TEH SUCK, b/c they arent...

Ever seen a holy/disp priest do dammage?

I've been shadow, that way i outdammaged all mages in my guild, and if i didnt wathed out i pulled giants of the MT :):) But Tier 3 it loos great its great in a party. but lvling is and stays solo. And in solo who gives a #$%^ about threath reducement.

Tier 2.5 on the otherhand OMG GIMME!

Shut up and play the game the way you enjoy it. If you enjoy being a heal bot (which i do) then do it, if you want to be lumped into ranged dps and play a shadow preist, then do it. If you enjoy it then it's good, who cares if you get more honor from healing a warrior or some other crap like that. Just play the game the way you enjoy it and stop clogging the forums up with pointless BS, please and thank you.

Now if someone could tell me what mob possibly drops this it would be appreciated.

Tier 3 armor drops as following:

Wrist: Anub'Rekhan, Grand Widow Faerlina and Gluth. 1 drop per kill.

Waist: Noth the Plaugebringer, Heingan the unclean and Gluth. 1 drop per kill.

Hand: Maexxna. 2 drops per kill.

Feet: Instructor Razuvious, Gothik the harvester and Gluth. 1 drop per kill.

Shoulder: Patchwerk, Grobbulus and Gluth. 1 drop per kill.

Legs: Loatheb. 2 drops per kill.

Head: Thaddius. 2 drops per kill.

Chest: The Four Horsemen. 2 drops per kill.

Ring: Kel'Thuzad.

has anyone ever tried shadow priest instances, i.e 5 shadow priests, using vamparic embrace and all with shadow wands? just incase low mana?

Such a minor upgrade from "Pure Elementium Band" off of nefarian... 纯源质指环 only gain 4 healing, 6 spirit & 6 intellect. From Nefarian to Kel'Thuzad, a wopping 23 bosses (Skeram, Bug Trio, Sartura, Fankriss, Viscidus, Huhuran, Twin Emperors, Ouro, C'Thun, Anub'Rekhan, Faerlina, Maexxna, Patchwerk, Grobbulus, Gluth, Thaddius, Noth, Heigan, Loatheb, Razuvious, Gothik, The Four Horsemen, Sapphiron) inbetween the two, and you gain such minor stats... The only reason you'd wear this is for 2 reasons. One being the set bonus, and the other being 'just because' you have access to it & the DKP.
