Magmus isn't a lava golem, actually, or any kind of golem. He's a Molten Giant - one of only (I believe) three that are extant outside of the Molten Core itself: Volchan, Bael'Gar, and Magmus himself.

This a very nice buff to his loot table, I must say - because for a while there, he was consistently dropping either some nondescript green, white or grey item, or quite often nothing at all. Nothing like killing a boss and getting... burning pitch, huh?

Picked this up the day after the patch (well, the first day the server would stay up long enough to get a BRD group together, that is), and, for the ease of finding, it's ideal for a 55-early 60 holy/ret pally. This is what I'm currently carrying into our guild's first few MC runs.

Even better, with the stats being what they are for a 2-handed mace, you're not competing with anybody on the roll; everybody else along took one look at it, said "pally hammer", and let me take it.

BRD in general has been buffed with some very nice blue pally drops...since 1.10, I've picked up this hammer, and a plate chest and boots (the armor was from Ring of Law champions); all have +INT, +STA, and +spell/healing. If you've got a pally that needs a good pre-MC/pre-Lightforge buff, I'd farm BRD for awhile.

I got this hammer last night in BRD for my 55 Paladin. Soon as it dropped everyone said �Pally hammer!� So I didn�t have to fight with anyone on getting it. Kind of upset I had just purchased a Twig of the World Tree only hours before I went on the run >_<

Here is how the hammer affects a Pally,

Also great for paladins and shamans, i think. I would love to have it, but i haven't seen it, nevah. Maybe i'm unlucky or something... But gg to that who will get that, looks a pretty normal mace to me. But stats are good for druid/pala/ why not even shaman. Warriors stay outta of our way :D

I didn't know this item existed until today, when I was helping a couple guildies farm HoJ in BRD. It dropped, and one of the rogues accidentally needed it and won. He was gonna DE it, but didn't bother to look at the stats before he rolled. He was very sorry and very apologetic, so I wasn't upset at him, but damn it...

With a drop rate lik 0.9%, I'll probably never see this thing again. SUNOFAB**CH! Are there any other comparable hybrid hammers or staves around that can be quested or something?

I just bought twig of the world tree for 15g (Barthilas). I thought it was cheap as someone was selling it on AH for 40g starting bid. Should i sell the twig and aim for this instead?

i dont kno wat that druid up there was talkin about wen he said that this is a DRUID ONLY mace and that shammy and pally should go for one hand and shield, well to me that is BULLS@#$. this is a good mace for shammys pallys and druids ALIKE! im a lvl 54 pally and i want this SOOOO BAD. too bad i can never get a grp for BRD lolz. BTW how longs does BRD take anyway?

god damnit guys i guess you dont understand..this mace can be used by and spellcaster that can use 2h maces. Because it has the sta that healers need in case of aggro. It has the Int buff for mana. And it has the Buff for melee So it doesnt really matter who uses it just dont go using it when you are a warrior NOOB

In my opinion this is truly a balance or resto druid hammer
Sure other classes such as the paladin or shaman can wield it, but if so, that should be merely if its the only thing youve got at the moment. Er even if they just wanna go ahead and use the damn thing

I plan on getting this as soon as a group Im in actually lasts that long enough to get to Magmus :(
But yes, it will be replacing my Vexing Cane, oh wow, 1 point in D&H; gone! xD

Got it after 4runs. its hard to get past lyceum with some random pug. but worth it if you are shaman :). Speed, dmg and stats are just perfect.
If you have it. get fiery enchant. 3x fiery proc with wf is a nice boost :P

Damage and Healing ;) I like this because it balances out what you can do with the weapon instead of having to switch from the Hammer of the Grand Crusader to something else. The only bad thing is that this is such a lower level hammer :(

This weapon is a perfect 2H shaman weapon for shammys of that lvl.
It has all a shaman needs on a weapon.

As a shaman planning on healing in raids, do you think it would be a fool's errand to go for a healing spec that uses two-handed maces/axes so I can use this or 夜幕? Basically a healer who still can melee a little?
