I got this today, i am healing normally for 3.5k, and crit for 5k+. My record right now is 5211.

In Full Prophecy with Benediction, I crit heal Greater heal rank 4 for around 5k. Your higher crits are probably based on your +healing gear or enchants that you have.

But frankly, I would rather have +crit or +spirit/ mana regen than +healing.

Mana regen is much more useful in high end, during the 15-20 minute boss encounters.

and with the new patch, and talents... greater heal will be a 2.5 sec cast... MUCH more useful... actually FEASIBLE to use as well.

This dropped for us in AQ today, I got it, so it hasn't been removed for sure...
In patch 1.10, greater heal rox, with 2,5 sec casting time (including talent of course).
This one will be very useful!

Until they start buffing everyone's health by an extra 1 or 2k, there's no reason for this when we all have a ton of +healing and are already down ranking.

lemme get things straight.

The only purpose of +healing is to downrank heals to save mana. Having more "power" in your heals doesn't increase the interwals between them, it only makes you overheal more. It's optimal to have your heals healing around 1k or even less. If you don't have more than 300+ healing you shouldn't bother having any +healing at all.

I have nubs in my guild that has this book and 700+ healing, and then they go like "zomg lawk I can crit for 5k", then when we go raiding, they score at the bottom of the healing meters, whilst easily producing two million hp of overhealing during a full mc run.

+crit is utterly ^&*!ing useless for healing, relying on crits is not very viable when healing, so to say.

Basicly your goal when chosing spells to heal with in different situations is to create as little uncertainty as possible. It's not you who decide how much healing is needed, that's someone else, and basicly it's better to spam a low rank heal than casting a greater heal every now and then.

Let's say that you are healing a tank. Most of the time, the tank wont take much damage at all, and you goal is to keep him at full hp, so that when the boss does his mortal strike/shadow flame/whatever, the tank wont die. Now if you use greater heal, you will overheal all the time, except when the big bad boss does his ability.

It's not viable to wait until the boss has done his thing and then start casting a heal. You must heal all the time, and with greater heal, your mana will burn out way too fast. Now let's say we have 10 healers on that tank. Each healer does a heal for 2k.

2k*10=20k. So 20k healing within a 2.5 second span=massive overhealing. So a heal of about 1k for each healer would do the trick. Now if you have 500+ healing, you could use heal rank4 to heal about 1.2k per heal. It costs 212 mana, compared to greater heal's 550. Meaning that you would get less overhealing and higher total healing done.

Trust me, with descent gear you will never run out of mana spamming heal rank4, given that you drink mana pots. And as already proven it will give enough "healing power". And for the non-tanks, my reckomendation is to use renew, and if it's stressy, use flash heal.

There is only one single situation where I would find this book useful, and that is Loatheb in Naxxramas, where you only can cast one heal per minute.

priests need mana/5, spirit, int, and mainly +healing NOT %crit. with +healing you should know how much you heal for so when your MT's health almost gets there you start casting it and it heals him to practically full health. With %crit you can do OVERheals which are useless (unless he is dying and u luckily get a crit heal) you cant depend on crit healing cuz it mostly wont crit and then u wipe.

If Your priest can't keep their mana up with their casting then they should stay home Spec and gear your priest so that your regening at the same rate as your using because if you run out your nothing more than dead.
At higher Lvls a Shadow Priest can heal quite well - its all in the gear, adding a higher rank of healing is just going to make the real priest that much more useful.

About rank 5... i won it before 1.10, and now after 1.10, i checked the tooltip again. It yas:
A slow casting spellthat heals a single target for 2162 to 2414. With my +553 healing gear i heals 2800. The critheal is 4200-4500
Before 1.10 i healed with rank 5 3500-3600 the crit was 5000. With the same gear.

I like it very much ;o) 3khp/2.5sec ;o)) if you are a MH, you can easyli use it and a bit pass flash heal, wat wastes your mana ;o)) 1.10 modified greater heal to the best ;o)
