This is one of the trinkets acquired by defeating four bosses in the Edge of Madness section of Zul'Gurub. The bosses are Gri'lek, Renataki, Wushoolay, and Hazza'rah. Each two weeks the current Edge of Madness boss changes in a predictable rotation, so constructing this trinket takes a minimum of six weeks. Most would consider it well worth the time invested, as this trinket will scale well to level 70 and beyond.

Renataki's has too long a cooldown to be a useful PvE DPS trinket, but it's a monster in PvP, especially in 1v1 fights. It does not share a cooldown with Thistle Tea.

Agreed. The Warrior (+30 rage), Rogue and Hunter (Aimed/Multi cooldowns reset) are real gems of PVP trinkets, while a few casters' (notably the Druid) trinkets have niches in PVE as well for extra heal throughput.

Also, 4 bosses is an 8-week (month and a half) rotation for a full trinket. Assuming you get your part each boss rotation. (Hope you don't have to roll against the raid each time!)

From what I have read on the World of Warcraft forums, this trinket is going to be scaled with level 70 and will only give 40 energy. It will still be nice in PvP and the new arenas. How many times has that extra boost given us what we needed to finish off someone in stunlock?

Even though its really nice to get a 60 energy boost, is really that useful in pve? I am sure its great for dueling and pvp but I can Hardly find any use of it in pve. If the cooldow was like 30 seconds, then yes, I'd consider it. 1 extra Backstab every 3 mins will not make such a big diference.

I have seen this used in a Pvp video, and it absolutely owns when combined with 5 pieces of nightslayer and a vigor build for 120 energy. My only question is, could anyone who has it post really specific instructions as to the time frame and requirements as they are kinda hazy. Thanks

Is this trinket really worth all the grinding in ZG to get considering how similar it is to Thistle Tea? Yea sure, this is like free Thistle Tea...but Thistle Tea isn't expensive to make.

Help me out here, this is the only item in ZG that you can't equal or replace from MC/BWL so I'm wondering if it's worth the bother. Right now I'd say "no" but interested in counter-opinion.

The reason this is better than thistle tea is simple. It is instant, while the tea has a little 1 sec animation of your guy swigging bak the drink, while you can continue to stab while yo use the trinket. All you see above you is little blue sparks, and you get a quick boost of energy. The only downside to this, is it only 60 energy as opposed to 100, but as they are on different timers, you can take both in a fight, so it really doesnt matter.

This is well worth the grind in ZG. Thistle tea is either very expensive to buy or very time consuming to farm. The cooldown on tea is 5 minutes and this is 3 minutes. I doubt I will stop using tea after I get this >:)

I only have the NS +energy not vigor as im an ambush/backstab rogue. to me this trinket means one thing. a free backstab.

Ambush > Backstab > Trinket > Backstab.

you could change it slightly..

Ambush > Backstab > Trinket > Backstab > Tea > Backstab > Eviscerate.

whatever way you comine this with your abilities and spec it spells certain death for any clothie you use it on. I 2 shot most of them as it is.

i got mine today and this rocks...100% pvp trinket.
there is so little info on it i decided to make this post.

there are 4 edge of madness boss's in total( these are 100% independent of the rest of ZG and may be bypassed alltogher)
the 4 bosses may be summoned only 1 at a time.
each boss has a 2 week "window" in which he may be summoned.
so for example.
1st to 15th of jan will be gri'lek.
16th to 31st of jan will be hazza'rah.
1st to 15th of feb will be renataki.
16th to 29th of feb will be wushoolay.
they come in Alphabetical order.

so yes it takes TWO MONTHS to complete a single trinket.
failure to summon a boss in the 2 week window will result in another wait of of the 2 month period......

to summon the boss you need to use a
these are made by alch's who learn the recipe in ZG itself by the alter.
MATS REQ:
1X blood of heroes.
1x massive mojo
6x powerfull mojo
1x black lotus.
this will make enough pots for 3 summons.

after killing each boss he will drop 1-3 pieces of his body parts.1 been needed from each boss for each player collecting his trinket.
it is possible to summon each boss 4 times in his 2 week window.so it is possible for 12 players to get there piece each 2 week window.(the chances of that happening are ultra slim)

as you can see to collect all 4 pieces (and you allso need your class doll from ZG as well)is gonna be a pain in the arse if all the guild wnted them.when you have all 4 pieces and your doll you just right click them to make your trinket(all need to be in your bag ofc)
it's graphics are green sparks and lighting when the trinket is activated.it's cooldown is 3 mins.at the top of this page you will see all the "shared cooldowns".i have this trinket and earthstrike,a shared cooldown means you have to wait 20 secs inbetween trinkets.

how long does this effect last for or is it permanant?

if you are an assasin rogue fully speced then you usually drain energy so this could help loads, overall i believe you would have a total of 170 energy........ WOOOT!

Doesn't it increase your total energy? Since it says "increase" not "restores"?
And most prolly it won't break stealth.

err, I doubt it increases your max energy by 60..it just gives you 60 energy, sort of like a Thistle Tea, only 60 energy though.

This trinket is awesome, an extra backstab per fight will win a lot of fights and make people cry baby tears that you used tea but you really didnt. Also the work to get it isnt that bad if you run ZG, the boss for the quest items changes every tuesday. All I need now is wuushoolay's mane.

very great item if you can cast tea and this without cooldown on each other. getting extra backstap is much better then a minor mod. but it is useless if tea puts a cooldown on this. tea is slightly easier to get, and does more...(60 in cooking, 2silver pattern off vendor)

uuhh, how long does this "increase" last for. Im hoping its like, 10 seconds. thats just what we need, more rogue gear to kep you in stun lock longer and to kill you faster.

Better to wear in trinket some other thing, that gives another 1 or 2% chance to crit.

the cooldown on this thing is 3 min, and it just give you 60 energy, as a lil tea, not increasing your max energy for a short period ... (unfortunatly :'( )

Cooldown isn't 20 seconds, its 3 minutes, it would be ridicoules if it was 20 seconds.

This trinket will restore less and less energy as you get to 70, part of blizzard's plan to linearize nice level 60 trinket to they don't remain as good at 70 as they are now.

This is like the Thisle Tea but adds only 60 instead of 100, which basicly means you can get an extra backstab in every 3min. Not that great... not worth switching out my other trinks which add +2 chance to hit and +2 chance to crit.

its not really that bad, 1 extra Backstab(or ambush if you vanish) every 3min, also the fact that you will most likily have the other 4 pieces of the Madcap's Outfit set, 5/5 Decreases the energy cost of Eviscerate and Rupture by 5, along with its Use: it makes it pretty darn good.

if you spec right, everyone infront of you=dead, another 2% crit works out to be less than the 500-1000 you backstab for every 3 minutes,

Have anyone tested if this trinket is usuable while stealthed? If not, could anyone please try to use it in stealth and see if it takes you out of stealth?

I do a lot of PvP and when I'm facing 2 opponents, using my improved sap takes 65 energy away. If I wait until this is regained the Sap has almost worn off. I could really see a use for this trinket if it allowed me to:

Sap -> Use trinket -> my normal stunlock combo on target #2.

Fyi the Vigor talent adds 10 energy, as does the 5 piece NS bonus, meaning you can have up to 120 total energy capacity, noob.
