You can't use this item at the same time as the Talisman of Ascendance

However you can alternate between the two -- and the cooldown on the ToA is 60 seconds. If you are on the ball, you can be extremely powered up (for spell damage) a majority of the time.

If you want to melt face in PvP with your AP / PoM spec, this is the damage trinket you want. Huge damage that starts high and ends low, clearly for the mage on the go. Hit your AP and ZHC, blast a fireball or frostbolt, hit PoM, blast again, and if you didn't kill whatever was under your cursor, it will probably be running from you. This is also a nice addition to your raiding build if ToA isn't within your reach and ToeP is evading you as it does most guilds.

I managed to win the Heart of Hakkar in one of my guild ZG raids.
I'm a priest, and for a while I spec'd to a PI/Smite build and it worked fantastic with this trinket and Power Infusion.

I got this item a week ago, and I absolutely love it. I am a shadow priest, and I spend a lot of time farming and soloing stuff. Since I got this trinket, I can easily solo 2 snakes at a time in ZG by pulling two, killing one, zoning out, and zoning back in to kill another. It also makes easy solo fights like Lord Incendius even easier. When I have this and Blessed Prayer Beads equipped, I have
broken the 5k mark
on a Greater heal crit.
My best mind blast
was for 2030 (with warlock debuff). Didn't have a Greater Arcane Elixir active at the time, unfortunately.
There is only one real downside to it. If you have this active and you use your wand, it counts it as casting a spell. So the extra damage/healing gets reduced quickly if you decide to wand with this buff.
Granted, you shouldn't be wanding when you have this active, but I was testing all sorts of things out with this trinket and found that wanding does effect this. I would hope this is something Blizzard would fix.

I've got Hakkar's Heart.
After some careful investigation, I figured that this trinket is better than the damage one(Zandalarian Hero Medallion) for hunters.
During 20 sec you can shoot:
sec 1: Serpentine Sting (+280 dmg)
sec 2: Arcane Shot (+245*1.5/3.5=+105 dmg)
sec 8: Arcane Shot (+90 dmg)
sec 14: Arcane Shot (+75 dmg)
sec 16: Serpentine Sting (+140 dmg)
sec 20: Arcane Shot (+45 dmg)
---------------------------------------
Total = +735 dmg
If I am using the Zandalarian Hero Medallion, with my Grand Marshal's Repeater, I can shot at most 2 multi-shot + 4 arcane shot (6 sec used) and 14(sec)/2.52(sec-weapon speed)=5 shots.
So for total 11 arrows I can get at most (40+38+36+...+20)= 330 dmg
Some people told me it is base damage so I have to apply talents on it. However even I crit every shot (which is not likely to happen), I can get at most +660 dmg which is still weaker than the heart.
So I conclude that: For hunters, Hero Charm > Hermo Medallion.
Is there anything missing? I am still not quite confident about this result.
Please gimme some feedback.

All totaled up, this thing will add 2520 to healing, if you use all the charges...
Basically, a free crit Holy Light every 2 mins...
Equal to 580+mana...

This will no longer stack with ToEP come 1.10.
They can be used consecutively but not at the same time.

I'm a mage and this nerf doesn't really hurt us much. We lose 175 spell damage. Still have other ways to make it up. Besides, most mages are useless in between the cooldowns of their trinkets and CDs. This will help them devise more strategies.

The total damage output is quite close when comparing ToEP and ZHC. I'd pick the ZHC no question if doing pvp, but over time time ToEP does more or les keep up if you look at the total returns vs time. Using the numbers for total damage bonus per use times by the amount used every 10 mins for example you can see exactly how close these really are.
The ZHC will grant you far more bonus damage than the ToEP, but it's reuse timer is 30 secs longer. Expect to cast roughly 6 Fireballs before it runs out with the following bonuses:
1 - 280
2 - 245
3 - 210
4 - 175
5 - 140
6 - 105
Total of 1155 bonus damage applied. You will get to use this trinket 5 times per 10 minutes. For a Total bonus of 5775
The ToEP will only get you a max of 5 spells with a fixed bonus of 175 each time
1 - 175
2 - 175
3 - 175
4 - 175
5 - 175
Total of 875 bonus damage applied, but because of the faster cooldown expect to use this every 6.5 times per 10 mins. For a total of 5687.
So if your not into PvP id wouldn't bust a gut trying to get the ZHC if you already have the ToEP. If however you do enjoy pvp and macro abuse and 5 man raiding then this is the trinket for you.
It could also be argued that you could probably have the ZHC timer up every encounter in a 40 man raid instance as well.. which ofc would make it an even better option than the ToEP.

hmm still... little dissapointed, I've got all 3 now lol.
Gets a little complicated when trying to include the -% for cast time of 2.5 secs... left it out as the ratios would still be the same.
WHY do they have to go and nerf ZHC next patch anyway :( Then it will be the worst by far...

According to the description it should do 200 dmg and 25 less every cast. However my trinket actually does 204 dmg and 17 less dmg every cast. Not that I mind it of course I just wonder - is this a bug or a feature? Will this be changed to 200/25 or will the description become changed? Anyone knows?

the ZHC is best in short fights. while the trinket is cooling down you're getting no bonus from it. if you're in combat while its on cooldown you're losing effectiveness. its uber for pvp because you can pop it right before a fight, have it last for most of the battle, and then have most of the cooldown pass before you get in another fight. in pve its good where you absolutely need burst dps or the fights are less than a minute.
the effectiveness of the trinket depends on the percentage of dpsing time that you can have this trinket active.

"time cooling down" is the amount of time that you're still in combat and the trinket is cooling down.

the sole factor of its effectiveness is the percentage of time you can have this trinket active while dpsing compared to the total amount of dpsing time you have. total fight duration is not the only factor that goes into that percentage, but its the primary factor. if you want to approximate the effectiveness of this trinket for any fight, figure out the amount of time you have to dps and the amount of time you could have the trinket active. just going by fight duration isn't accurate for every fight but these tables aren't designed for specific fights so its just a good rule of thumb.
also note that while the effectiveness of the trinkets continually go down on the charts, that trend doesn't continue. if you have a 140 second fight you can use the ZHC twice, having it active for 40 out of 140 seconds, which is 29% of the time. if the tables continued, the effectiveness of the trinkets would spike up and gradually drop back down. they would never spike up higher than 29% effectiveness but they would never go lower than the lowest listed values.
you will probably never be in situations so unfavorable for these trinkets that you'll experience their worst performance, but you probably won't see their best performance in a pve situation either. +175 and +200 spell damage sound like a lot, but realistically you'll probably only get an overall bonus of +40-60 spell damage from each (in pve. in pvp they are much more effective). that is still very good, but far from what your first impression of the trinket might be.

I have this and natural aligment crystal. The extra 20% dmg are added after the +dmg so i critt big.
Natural + ab buff is 50% extra dmg ontop of the 400 or so +dmg i get when using the trinket.

Actual stats (item tool tip should be updated in 1.12, the effect tooltip already is) are 204 first charge, reduces by 17 damage per charge. (I believe its +408 healing and -34 healing per charge) It has 12 charges, not 8.
Blizzard nerfed then unnerfed it during the test but forgot to update the item tooltip. Its still an excellent trinket, and better than ToEP for the first two casts.

I am a restodruid with +460 base plus healing. When I use my ZHC my rejuv(rank11) heals for about 467 a tick. Not to shappy IMO. I have also had 5.5k healing touch(rank11) crit and a 2.8k swiftmend crit while ZHC is active. While having another trinket that adds plusing healing when used ie Draconic Infused Emblem or Talisman of Trancedence, since Hakkar hasn't been killed by my guild yet, while ZHC is cooling down I think I will farm for the mindtap talisman for now. A 2 min cooldown goes by real fast.

I hate to say ut, but it looks like the ZHC is getting hit with a big nerf.
On the PTR, it seems as if the damage is being reduced to 200, as opposed to the previous 280.
What a completely uneccesary nerf, Blizzard.

The bonus to spell damage will apply to spell PROCS such as a Pally's SoC or SoR BUT these procs will NOT reduce the damage/healing bonus. Now, that's sweet! This is a great items if you're the kind who doesn't like non-passive trinkets since it's a 2 minute cooldown.

Got it today, rolled 96 and two other from my guild rolled 95, lucky me. With this + ToEP activated i crit for 3300ish on players =)
Can't wait for CoE to affect frostbolts in 1.9 - gonna be nasty stuff.

You get it from a quest, wich is a dropp. And the quest dropps of Hakkar (in Zul'Gurub), wich is named "Heart of Hakkar".

It stacks with Empheral power and is a 2 min timer. In otherwards, it owns. Boosts my flashes by 300-300ish, adds 400+ to my crits.
Someone told me a mage frontloaded 5k damage between instants and such.
It is hot. I got lucky. Almost every class wants the quest item though. (+dmg stackable and in warriors case +2k armor). Only had to roll against 19 others, instead of 39 ;0).

Hell yeah I'd like this one!
A mage in my guild (Memento Mori) got this today and he's really proud about the 2300+ frostbolts he's critting together with the Ephemeral Power-trinket.
Just imagine my Shadow Bolt-crits that are aleready doing 2400+critdmg with the Ephemeral Power-trinket. That would've been fun :))
I'd say the reward is worth for every class, although it's probably more worth while in the ranks of Casters/Melee/Tanks, since you uys have got so much other stuff to get >)

My Renew ticks for 250 without, and 348 with this trinket enabled, so it adds 98. Note however that this bonus is not reduced for each tick but stay the same for the duration of the spell (both first and last tick was +98.)
I believe that the "reduction" is substracted before adding the healing bonus to the total renew output. So instead of doing (560/5)-reduction for each tick it substracts 70 and adds the remaining 490 to renew (98 per tick), which is confirmed by my tests.
I suspect other HoTs and DoTs would also work this way (possibly including Mindflay (channeled), which I have no means of trying right now, being Holy specced.)

Wearing this one same time with draconic infused emblem from ubrs makes second one cooldown two minutes... i think it's nothing but a bug... it's kinda even if i place this one to bank, and take draconic it will still have 2 cd except of 1 cd.....

Yes it does effect Renew. I'm Priest, and with this Trinket (wich has a 90 Sec Cooldown, not 120) my Renew ticks 367!

You cant stack ZHC and ToEP anymore, its sad but we just have to live with it, atm i can crit for ~3k with ZHC and do ~1.2k normal which means that its awesome in pvp, as a lock just deatcoil, 2 sb finish with shadowburn and mage/rogue is usually dead

It's WAY FREAKIN FUN with a toep, they stack quite nicely.
60 epix'ed lock and with both trinkets active I'm just under +850dmg for the first bolt.

Rumor has it that trinkets like ZHC, ToEP, Haz's Charm, and Eye of Moam will have cooldowns as long as the effect durations so you can't stack them anymore.
You can use still them consecutively though so its not a huge loss.
Honestly I hope it turns out to be false.

I also have one on Turalyon. It has a 2 min cooldown. Was very lucky, rolled 89, my GM rolled 96 but when I linked all the 3 trinkets he said he didn't want any of them and passed. Thanks Odin!

Ok I have both this and the Talisman of Ephemeral Power. Just to clear up a few things people seem to be confused about.
- You can no longer trigger both trinkets at once as using either off them triggers off a global 10 second trinket cooldown
- However they are still well worth having, I typically use the ToEP->Wait 30 seconds->Use Zandalarian Hero Charm ->Wait 1 minute..... then repeat. With the excellent threat mitigation in the Mage talents these days as long as you allow the tank to get his sunders etc I never have any problems with aggro and can output some considerable damage.

) casting against a target with CoE (which you should be in a raid) I slap out normal Frostbolts of 1050-1080 on average critting for about 1970-2000. Add the trinkets damage into the equation and it spikes up to 1270 per bolt and crits up to about 2600.
In my case I had the ToEP for several months and only picked up the ZHC because we dropped Hakkar for the umpteenth time and no one else wanted it. It has replaced the Eye of the Beast and I am quite happy with it.

I was planning on tryin to get Zandalar Hero Charm and Talisman of Ascendance from AD rep, but all this talk about shared cooldowns is kinda taking the wind outta my sails lol. cn any1 tell me if ill be able to use both at the same time as this would reverse the decrease in dmg from ZHC and end up increasing the dmg per spell instead, and wheather the draconic infused emblem is a better bet than the ToA with the ZHC. I made a calculation based on just casting Frostbolts (2,5 sec. cast) with these 3 trinkets
(Talisman of Ephemeral Power, Zandalarian Hero Charm and Talisman of Ascendance).
To make it an equal comparisson i based it on extra damage in a 2 min. time frame.
I didn't take the less spell damage you get because of the shorter cast time into acount.
ToEP:
15 sec. / 2,5 sec FB cast time = 6 FB x 175 extra damage = 1050 extra damage per 2 minutes.
ZHC:
20 sec. / 2,5 sec FB cast time = 8 FB
FB 1 = 204 extra damage
FB 2 = 187
FB 3 = 170
FB 4 = 153
FB 5 = 136
FB 6 = 119
FB 7 = 102
FB 8 = 85
Total extra damage = 1156 per 2 minutes.
ToA:
20 sec. / 2,5 sec FB cast time = 8 FB, however the maximum is 6 casts.
FB 1 = 40 extra damage
FB 2 = 80
FB 3 = 120
FB 4 = 160
FB 5 = 200
FB 6 = 200
Total extra damage = 800 per minute = 1600 per 2 min.
I didn't expect this at all, and i might have forgotten to take things into acount.
If this is the case and someone else can make a better calculation, please do so.

not that duells against warlocks are almost impossible to win as icemage, now they activate ToEP, ZHC and do life drain.OMFG i spammed AE, he drained life and his HP increased ! tell me locks how it exactly works :) rly warlocks are the mages hero class.
