Yes, this and the Azuresong are definitely the way to go in my opinion...

I just wish I knew why this was in the consumable category on Thottbot, took me so much longer to find because of that.

And as for the 'Spirit is for n00b's comment, you are an idiot. Sure, if you're just going to be farming level 55's around the lake or at Tyr's Hand, you may not find it all that important, but in any instance or any raid having to do with anything related with end-game content, spirit is a must.

I currently have about +150 or so spirit with all of my gear. Whenever we fight any mob in MC, I can still have enough mana in the tank to fire off the last few Arcane Missiles or Fireblast on Molten Giants or Lava Packs just as they are going down.

Mages with alot more mana than I have run out of juice way before me and resort to Mana Gems and potions every battle to keep them going. I can keep those gems and potions in reserve just in case something goes wrong or to make sure I can get a few more shots in when we pull groups of Destroyers.

On every boss fight, my high spirit makes sure that Evocation will fill up my entire 6k mana bar in 8 seconds while other mages only get 3k in mana out of a 7k total bar. You can bet that the mages with 50 more stamina or intellect than I are wishing they had more spirit at times like these.

More spirit means more mana in the long run and higher damage output over the course of a Molten Core or Blackwing's Lair raid.

All that said, I would rather have this off-hand than one that gave +25 spirit and extra spell power anyday.

for the simple fact that benediction is so much better and if a priest bidded on this they would waste there dkp.

I am a druid and have Aurastone hammer in the main and spellbound tome in my off

gives me

16 Stam
27 Int
3 Spirit
+25 healing
+5 mana regen

With this off I get

22 Stam
31 Int
+ 36 Healing
5 mana regen

Now I know that this Grimoire would be very suited to a damage dealer but I am lucky enough that the staff of dominance has been dropping a lot and a lot of casters have gone for it (No healer in our raid is allowed to bid for it because +damage is so hard to come by)

I think this would be a great combo for me in the short term (don't know if I will stick +55healing or +22int on my hammer though)

As for priests. Benediction is a fantastic epic healing staff (and pvp in it's sister form) When you are beating MC on a reular basis you WILL get it. Please wait for it.

this plus mageblade is better than the SOD, all though i wouldnt complain. SOD looks cooler. magblade looks like those grey swords i vendor for 1g.

the priest should be useing benediction... id be pissed if a priest went for this that is very selfish and rude.

the only people that should bid on this are mages, locks, druids.. cuz shammies use shields, priest get there staff and us 3 classes need this.. i am a druid and have aurastone hammer and im waiting for 5-6/8 cenarion and stormrage helm to get this cuz i believe gear comes first. But if i ever get this i will have 53 INT more from my 1h and offhand!

For healers just get a staff or mainhand + offhand with atleast +20int and spi then + 20 spirit enchant (or healing power w/e your like) goes well.

I use Will of Arlok atm +20 spi

We had 2 of these drop, I rolled a 5, then a 16 (bidding the max amount of raid points each time) and of course lost. I hate MC rolls so very, very much -_-

From a mage's perspective, I would say that the new book from Drakkisath (失落之书 is better than this item for those who want to save their DKP. You sacrifice a lot of int, but as a mage I've never had a problem with running out of mana. The stam difference is negligible. In addition, the Tome of the Lost has vastly more spell damage. Grats to the mages who were frothing over this, I'll save my DKP for mageblade, thanks <3

This is actually kind of a rare drop for some guilds in MC. We got lucky after not seeing one for a couple of months, and out of nowhere 2 drop in 2 days time. It's obviously the chosen off-hand item for Azuresong Mageblade. Which if I remember right you lose 4 stamina, but gain +11 more damage. I have Staff of Dominance so it's really no bid deal to me either way. By the way besides an off-hand you are going to get from BWL or AQ40 the best off-hand to combo with Azuresong Mageblade is Jindo's Bag of Whammies from ZG.

Isn't AV BG rewards specfic to school of specializaion a much better selection?

the alterac offhands might be better if u are going for +dmg or +heal.

but this baby has MUCH better stats :)
i.e. this + mageblade = +19 sta, +33 int, +81 dmg (with spellpowa), 1% crit > staff of dominance (at least for a warlock who doesnt need spi)

got mine yesterday becuz noone besides me did bid on it (looks like most people dont recognize a good item even if it jumps into their face).

This item still has the highest int. for off-hands. Still pretty good if you're missing some int and MC is farm status for your guild already.

I have Ancient Cornerstone Grimoire, Fire Runed Grimoire, and Tome of Shadow Power. I prefer the Fire Runed Grimoire over all of them. The people who say stats don't matter are morons. +DMG is great for burst damage, as in PVP, but for raids the stats are SO much higher for FRG that it enables superior damage over long amounts of time.

My priest uses both the Sorcerous Dagger + Fire Ruined Grimoire. +38 int / + 20 stam w/ +31 to healing/damage is a excellent combo compared to anything that drops in MC, including Benediction or Staff of Dominance.

for my priest this as off hand + the 1h mace from Nefarian(Lok'amir il Romathis) is a lot better than Aurastone hammer u it beats even benediction not to mention Staff of dominance...

get high faction with frostwolf clan through the alterac valley battleground, and you can get a nicer offhand item

LOL ? those offhands are absolute crap .. i wouldn't pay 1copper for any of em .. this one however is uber ..

I got this yesterday from Magmadar.
Felt really good, cost me 20 points though but it's def worth it. I still have the hammer of grace but will give up lots of points for Aurastone Hammer as well.

I hope I get it.

I love maces + off-hand, do not know why though :-D

Or another good combo is the one that I use. Fire Runed Grimoire with Aurastone Hammer. +31 int, +22 stamina, +36 damage/healing and 5 mana/5s. As a priest I think that is better than with the Sorcerous Dagger! And a nice +22 int enchantment on the hammer as well! :) Anyway, just wanted to say the grimoire is really sweet!

I would roll/take this if it dropped for my rogue because atm im using a green sword and this is epic and its a book + its got stamina and it lets you live longer and stuff. Everyone knows that the lowbies will inspect you if you have epics and people inspecting you is all what endgame is about. All for me // Dangerous.
