You get the quest at level 24, you can detect traps, but you get Disarm Traps at level 30!

I wasn't close enough to the chest, with Detect Traps active, the first time..went back to the tunnel (not stealthed this time) and walked closer..safe as long as you don't click to open the chest!

You dont need to op[en the chest to complete the quest.
There is no SKILL involved. All you need is detect trap on to see the trap and stand near the chest....the quest will be completed...did it today.
The manor is a cave i the hills directally east of TM, there is a path begining at a bunch of those green spidars and trails up the mountain.

I had already completed the Ravenholdt quest where you have to collect the ensigna, I finished the quest and i came back after I had gotten lvl 30. I use detect traps near the chest but it wont let me disarm it.

Okay all, u get the quest infront of SI:7. It is the rogue trainer on the left of the entrance. Then you travel to southshore. when you are there you will see durnholde keep to your north east. to the NW of the keep you will see a hill. climb to the top of that hill and walk towards the mountain range. When u hit solid mountain look left. you will see a path climbing up and to your left. Continue along this path and you will come across some guards. Enter the cave with detect traps on. you can walk up to the chest and right clisk ON THE CRYSTAL ABOVE. this will get you your 'seal'? of cunning. There is no need for disarm. i did this part at lvl 24 and did not have the abilility. i did just fine. At this point carry on through the cave and up to the manor. Climb the stairs in the far left of the floorplan and talk to fahrad. He will give you a good 2.5k xp reward and will tell you to talk to the guards for quests. You then need to go the the aforementioned keep and pickpoket about 30-40 of the ppl there. when you have about the right amount of ensignias head back to a guard and keep on giving them to him or her. When your relationshop bar gets from neutral to friendly you cannot give anymore ensignias over. At this point i cannot work out what to do but i think you need to talk to the 'wolf' in the alcove on your left as you enter the manor. I cannot but it might be as i am too low level (30). I hope that this has cleared everything up. If anyone can tell me what to do next i'd appreciate it.

this quest was easy i found out it was a trap after i got killed so i used my detect traps went on top if it and got the rite of cunning

what i did was open the chest got attacked and then vanished and i got it

Upon finding this and having no luck, I had to exit the cave and then return to the Chest to gain my Rite of Cunning.... weird..

What do i do after i talk to that master rogue trainer in that big 2 story house?

Start of path at 75,24... cave is at 77,19... First time I was in there, I had detect traps on, gear showed on crystal, but right-click on it did nothing. Finally, I opened chest, died, rezzed at chest, detect traps again, and got the rite of cunning...

ok i did this quest but i had great difficulty finding it. i found it in the end and thought i would share it with others. Basically you have to walk directly north from south shore following the river. There are two sets of mountains either side, you need the ones on the right. When you get to these mountains, turn east. walk around the mountain until you see a brown path up the mountains in your mini map. Go up the brown path until you get to the cave. When you reach the cave, use the ability detect traps,and the chest that is in the cave will then have a blue square above it. do not open it , if you do a lvl 34 elite appears and kills you. To do this quest you need a rune of opening, and this is when you need it, right click the rune of opening and then click on the chest, after this your quest shall be completed. Carry on through the cave and then turn right, you will gradually get to the manor, go in and the quest person is there. You get 1950 exp for doing this quest but no actual reward which is ashame for all the hard work.

Once you get the quest and Detect Traps at lvl 24 just use that when near the chest complete the objective walk through the cave and up to the Manor to turn in the quest for your XP. Good Luck p.s. don't open the chest!

ok.if u fly to southshore or walk ,whatever. just go to the middle of southshore. OK.lets begin.When u are in south shore,follow the river to the west of southshore.follow it till u come to the bride,when u come to the bridge DONT stop.just keep going till u come to something called ''Tarren Mill''DONT GO INSIDE! there are MANY undead there in lvl 46- .when u are there.stand west for tarren mill, u have to stand 100% west! and then u walk 100% north-west,then u will se some small mountains,climb a bit on the litte one but u only climb a bit, not much! then u walk ONLY SOME meters to the west from the little mountain till you see a path that looks like a ''N''on your mini map! (its very important that u allways look at your minimap when u go north-west from tarrenmill). follow that path,and u will see two human rouges (guards) and a cave.walk into the cave and u will se a chest.DONT open it! if u open it it will come a POWERFUL elite lvl 34 or something out of the chest and kill u.i know that sounds cool but dont open it!. when u are done countiniue into the cave and u will come to a kinda ''base'' and in that base there is a guy called rouge master or something.deliver the quest to him and....DONE! if u need more information add Madow on TWILIGHT'S HAMMER server.
