Most would say that this weapon is ideally suited to Warlocks, due to it's +Stamina. But it is suited for any class that is capable of holding staves. High dps and stamina buff is good for elemental Shamans. Spirit and Stamina good for Mages and Priests. And the Intellect buff would be welcomed by all.

An ace looking weapon too.

As a Mage who has already received one in his WoW career, I would say I'd rather it go to a Warlock than a Mage, but if there isn't one, it's free-for-all to whatever caster that needs it. :)

Hello!

I do have a question about this item. Does the buff given from it fade after death? I see that the Headmaster's Charge's buff has a 10 minute cooldown. It would seem that unless I am either incorrect or the cooldown resets after death, you would be short quite a few int points. I can imagine this being a horrible pain in the Battlegrounds....

Hey Malgrumm, unfortunately the buff does disappear upon death, and you have to wait for the cooldown timer before rebuffing.

But hey, it's only 10 minutes max that you have to wait :D

this staff amkes for an excelent warlock weapon because of it high stamina. slap a +30 spellpower enchant on it and you will be good to go for a while. The Intelect buff lasts for fifteen minutes total and has a cooldown of 10 minutes so it is a bit of a pain to keep an eye on but dont worry the mana users in your party will be sure to remind you if you ever forget to rebuff it =D

I picked this up as a druid(pre MC) shortly after it was added to the game. It was a nice support staff for beginner raiders, especially for caster/healer groups in MC, ZG, etc.

This weapon should automatically be defaulted to a warlock. The intellect buff increase pet's intellect, but even more over comes with 30 stamina which is essential to any warlock's arsenal. This staff looks amazing. Int+ buff benefits all nearby group members.

"A Mage does not need stamina, they only need int and +damage gear so they can nuke harder" -- magmy. im sorry magmy, but have you played a mage? we die unbelieveably fast because of lack of stamina, im a lvl 60 mage and have about 3k hp. there are 60 warlocks that have 4.5k hp running around and you say this should go to a warlock for the stam? i dont think so. this is an excellent staff for ANY caster.

This staff dropped for me last night alone with the hand cannon it was awarded to a druid who was using HWL staff. My shaman only has the staff of magefire, needless to say i was upset. This staff is sweet and definitely good for many classes.

I have this staff on my Warlock alt, and it's fantastic. Fairly easy to get, drops off Darkmaster Gandling in Scholomance. The stats are buff are absolutely amazing in any group. It also buffs my pets Intelligence so it is very useful for a Warlock.

One downside is when you have the buff on and die, you don't rez with the buff and cooldown doesn't restart. Besides that, excellent weapon for pre-MC and BWL.

The staff is great for any caster. I had it on my warlock for a long time but I would not have been upset had the priest, mage, or druid in my group rolled for it because it works well for all of us. I get a slight bonus for having demonic embrace to make stamina worth a bit more than other classes. Raiding guilds love having this staff and everyone was sad the day I replaced it with a higher DPS staff. By putting +30 spell power on it it made a great all around staff for my lock while doing MC.

Disenchanted into 2 x Nexus Crystal.

This staff is good because of the huge amount of stamina, and therefore should go to a warlock. A mage would prefer a staff with intellect.

but, this staff also gives +20spirit(useless for lock) and +20int(circumstational). just the point that it gives high stamina it never should be more of a lock item. personaly, i preffer high +spelldmg gear over high stat gear(i'm pve oriented) for my mage, but a stat-oriented mage should never be judged for rolling need side by side with warlock for this staff.

Soloed Scholo today (feral druid), and this dropped! Not exactly very useful anymore, but quite lucky -- definitely not gonna vendor it! It's a shame Bringer of Death looks just like it.

Its good for any casting class that uses staves. Stop trying to justify that your class could use it better in a vain attempt to greedily be able to claim it yourself, or justify that if you loose it, it was because you were 'screwed over' Let good old fate decide by rolling it off, if you loose, don't #$%^&, take it like a man. :P

Yah the dude above is right, im a shaman its good on me, its good on casters, druids etc. The point of glowing brightwood staff is better on casters would point to druids and shamans because it is more "end game" but the fact is it rocks on both. As for my shaman, do i want it? hell yeah, but id say given the choice i could settle for something in that range with alot slower attack speed. Also glowing brightwood staff is alot easier, this is like less then 1% drop, 0 have dropped on frostwolf that i know of and at least 20 of the brightwood staffs have. : /

Who WOULDN'T benefit from increased mana and HP regen?

No one. Even a warrior would recieve some benefit from SPI, though very little. Hunters would have more benefit from SPI because not only are they regenerating HP they're regenerating mana. Warlocks try to avoid SPI and go for STA or INT, which makes sence because Spirit Tap and Life Tap is a wonderful setup. I'm not saying SPI isn't a good stat for a warlock, but the other casters can benefit from it more then warlocks. Shaman have the ability to both regen their own mana and regen their own health, reducing the benefit of SPI realitive to other classes. Mages and shaman both have abilities they can use regularly to increase their mana, but mages must be out of cambat and sitting to recieve their regen bonus. Mages can also recieve 15% added bonus to mana regeneratoin during combat, and gain 1500% regen bonus with proper talents. With the proper setup mages can benifet more from SPI then shaman do. Priests and *some* druids only means of mana regen is SPI and can also heal themselves reducing some of the use for HP regen. Druids and priests also can recieve the 15% mana regeneration during combat through talents. But, through talents a druid can recieve 100% mana regenration during combat plus 400% average mana regeneration making the benefit of SPI very valuable to druids.

Who is would benefit the most from the DPS?

Warrios and hunters would obviously benefit the most from a 58 DPS weapon but, shaman and druids can recieve spell enchanments for their weapons, (either from spells or talens) often use equipment that with STR on it, and do use melee weapons for *melee*. Other caster classes most often avoid melee and often would rather use a wand more often then a staff because of their total lack of STR.

Its not specifically for any class. Warlocks say its for warlocks. Shammys say its for Shammys. Its for anyone who can roll high enough and use it after getting it. It would be nice to have but its not the greatest staff ever.So just stop lying and saying its specifically for a certain class.

I got it on my 8th Scholo run or something.
I'm a warlock so of course I rolled on it, but I had no idea the droprate was this low and why the team made such a big deal about it.
Anyways, I love this staff, and my party also benefits from it's buff.
Btw, you get alot of attention by wearing it ^^

The buff lasts for 15 minutes and has a 10minute cooldown, so it works out pretty nice. If the partymembers go out of range they lose the buff. Stacks with int buff as well.

I just lost this to a warrior on Bloodhoof server. Yes, you read that right. His argument was that he could go into a priest group and click it to give them the buff. He actually said "nobody cares about the stats, it's the click that matters."

I just picked this thing up and am a lvl 60 warlock...and all i got to say is wow! This staff is totally wicked! But when it dropped there was no controversy on who it was for...just everyone rolled and the dice gave it to the right person...lol

The buff will stack with arcane brillance/intel. Also the duration is 15 minute while the cooldown is only 10 minutes.

I have this staff and I am a druid. Guess being the MH of a 5 man group while being the only caster does have advantages.

Got this drop late sat nite on the EU doomhammer realm, I remember saying when I first did a scholo run that I loved his staff.. now it's mine :D
When it dropped all I said was "/me drools at the sta on that"
I think it dropped on my 20-ish scholo run.. I've now seen gandlings stave and the baron rivendare's sword in strat drop (tho that was claimed by a warrior in the group) - just need to have his mount fall for me ;)

We were all nice n orderly, needers rolled on it, which included a priest and a mage as well as me (lvl 60 lock) and I won on a roll of 50-something...

it does indeed stack with all the mage int buffs and is very sweet, just gotta get round to enchanting it now. Only problem is dropping my previous stave that had +24 dmg on it.. but for the hp boost and the spirit (which is always a bit low on me) plus the buff that I always use now it's well worth it :)

I had to create an account and write a post on this as I have one thing to say: ALL casters should roll on this staff. In my opinion it is one of the best staffs you can aquire. this staff it is simply awesome for all casters. +22 int, +30 sta, +20 spirit and the +20 int buff...If this drops with any group your in, dont be a jerk and let all casters roll on it!

i agree with your call and it was fair imo.Besides a druid can get a equal or superior mace without that much effort. My guild has only started to begin to clear MC so it might be a long time before i can see something that is better than this. I just hope it drops :/

Just got this a few minutes go. The mage decided to pass, so it came to me (Lock) and a 58 priest. Devout crown had also dropped, which he got, and when I rolled a pathetic 15, he passed it to me outright. This guy's on my buddy list for life <3

On Gilneas, this weapon dropped on just my second Scholo run. I'm a Pally, so I didn't have any use of it. A priest asked to roll Need and did. Our warrior tank then begins to talk about how this truly is a "warrior weapon" for when warriors are not tanking in raids. He rolled need and won.

I got this on my warlock last night. I've been wanting it for ages, more for the cool graphic than anything else though. The party intel buff is pretty nice; I could see it working particularly well with a caster group that contains a moonkin druid. Extra intel + the crit aura is all good.

As for which class can best use this staff; all casters can undoubtedly use it. The stamina is the main bone of contention here: many warlock builds are very stamina heavy because of our reliance on lifetap. Stamina = mana to warlocks, the more HP we have, the bigger our effective mana pool becomes. While stamina is obviously a valuable asset to all casters in PvP particularly, warlocks will probably utilise the increased stamina more routinely in both PvP and PvE raiding.

Just my .02c, but any caster will enjoy this staff and be a popular group addition.

This is good for any caster, if I was a mage/druid/priest and i was using a blue or green I would definitely roll against a warlock for this. The stats benifit every casting class. Every caster needs Stamina and Intel. The worst part is that everyone debates about this weapon soooo frigging much but it barely drops. Same deal in ZG PuGs when it comes to bosses that drop mounts.

It was all level 60's 'cept for one level 56-57 (mage(me), priest, pally, rogue, and 56-57 warrior)

Anyways, this dropped from Darkmaster Gandling along with a blue cloth helm and the normal AD rep stone.

We rolled on the Stone, I won the roll. The priest and myself rolled on this staff... I won the roll there. I told our party of all guild mates that I was still using the helm that I got from the Maraudon Princess. The priest just let me have that helm as well. I really hated to receive all the loot from "Darkmaster Gandling" but it is for improving the guild. right?

One question I had was the on use, it says all party members in 30 yard radius. What about other groups in the entire raid. Do they get it as well? From other posts that are saying, "I am the most favorite raid member". it sounds like it is a raid wide buff. Anyone confirm this.

I have run it perhaps 10 times or less, and gotten Headmasters Charge (the last to drop), Alanna's Embrace, Enchant Weapon: Lifestealing, and Recipe: Flask of Supreme Power.

gg <1% drops, I am one happy priest.

Oh, to gall the locks in here - the lock and shaman in our group both passed on this so I could get it, as I stated before the run it was the only item I wanted :).

i got for my hunter since all other healers and casters in the guild have better i got a +25 agil chant and im prety happy with it i got more mana then a couple of my guilds main mages and warlocks which i find very cool

Can anyone confirm if the buff stacks with Arcane Brilliance or the other Mage Intel buff? If so i want it for my Mage.. if not, it's pretty usless and would be much better for a Priest/Restro Druid/Lock etc.. imo. Seriously, the 30 Stam is great for a mage, but the 20 Spirit is kinda usless... unless... you can also stack the +20 Intel over your own intel buff.

It's a good staff, though I would only be useing it for the int buff, then switching it, instead of all the time. If a warlock needed, i wouldnt roll him, unless others did, then id try and roll highest, and give to lock. Warlock staff imo, unless he doesnt want.

when Exacly do you see a warlock melee .. or mage or druid NEVER .,.,. ITS A SHAMAN STAFF look at the damn DPS, highest Dps staff in the game not counting the new additions ..

i got my staff the day after 1.10 went live.. I outrolled a warlock for it (as Im a priest) a shaman also rolled for it.

Personally I love the staff and have a +22 int enchant on it though my entire guild says i should have gone with the +20 spirit. I had no issue out rolling the warlock for htis staff either as I feel it isn't a warlock only staff. It's really well rounded stats for priests and mages. (On a side note i thought it was selfish of the warlock to roll for this staff seeing as how they also won the roll for the ace of portals that same run)

Ok, rrm your an idiot... stamina=health, health=mana from life tap. Locks need the stamina not for more hit points so they don't die, but mostly for health converted with life tap. I bet you don't even have a lock, locks do benifit from the stamina buff quite nicely. Try looking at some of our armor sometime, usually the top stat. is stamina.

Dropped today on Arthas. Second one this week. =) It was a full guild run, and 3 people rolled. Our mage rolled 1 lower then the winning priest. Priest was excstaticly happy. =).

I'm a disc priest... This item would be sexy.

We actually hit with a staff (ala improved inner fire). Especially if it has 2.9 speed (aka fits in between mindflay).

And I think it would be so cool to give a char +sta buff, +spi buff, +int buff in group play or to self for solo play.

I think, since the intellect buff supposedly lasts 15 minutes with a 30 minute cooldown (ie. It's only active half of the time) I'd give it this order for usefullness:

Warlock > Shaman > Druid > Mage > Priest

Not to say it should necessarily be that, and I think all of the classes have the right to roll.

If any hunters, paladins or warriors (why the hell they would want it I don't know) rolled this I'd be very annoyed, unless the casters present didn't want it.

Anyway. Its going for ALL classes, but mostly for Mages/Warlocks. Reason I see this is because its GODLY for an AOE Mage, and they could always use more Stamina. Enchant this baby with +9 Intellect, and with the +30 Intellect use, your looking at a

+39 Intellect
+30 Stamina
+20 Spirit

What kind of Mage WOULDNT like that? Warlocks and Druids arent the only classes that are looking for more Stamina anyway. I hate it when people think Mages shouldnt have any Stamina. If a Mage didnt have any Stamina they wouldnt be AOEing and it would screw them over REALLY badly, it would also screw the group over REALLY badly. Anyway, im a 60 Mage and I have this staff, and I love it. Flame all you want, I dont care really.

saw someone wearing this and decided to see where it drops, but SCHOLO? ive run scholo maybe 30+ times, and thats just with 1 of my characters, i've even seen his other epic drop, pattern for void robe, drop twice even, i havent seen this once, >ever<.

point being, if you have this, you are LUCKY.

Yeah, as someone said, it does stack with Arcane Int.

Mages are notoriously low on HP, plus they do need to regen mana, so spirit helps.

I have this staff, with +22 int and it's just one of two staves I own.

I use this staff for long fights, with my other pure stat gear.

I use rod of the ogre magi for pvp and the like, along with the rest of my damage gear.

It's a VERY nice staff, and looks SWEET on my mage.

This is for any caster, and ppl need to help reiterate that. Im not so sure a Mage would really dig this if they alrdy had argent crusader/trindle, etc., but that just depends. Im a priest using the Argent crusader with +20 Spirit enchant, but wow, this staff is so amazingly uber. In the hands of a priest, it is just amazing.

I am a druid but if this thing drops, there will be two ways for me

option 1:
The warlock gets it, if a warlock need it, imho he should get it, there is much better staffs for other classes out there, this will be my preferred choice

option 2:
If someone OTHER that the warlock will roll for it, so will I, I think that, at this point, I have as much need for this as a mage/priest.
I'd feel very sorry for the lock, but if other ppl decide they need it too, I want to take part in the roll for it.

Ever heard of a mage or priest in PvP? benediction is not exactly the easiest weapon to get you know? It involves going into MC. Just because stam is your primary stat does not exclude other casters. Having said that I wouldn't take it from a lock, as it would be of more use to you guys, but, i would deffo roll Vs a druid or any other class for that matter for this. Kicks my current staves' ass :D

Stamana = Their only defense.

Mages, you have ice block.

Priests, you have inner fire, shields, and heals.

Druids..Uh, why are you even rolling, unless there are no clothies in the group? Heals + Bear form + MotW = More than enough. o_O;

If they're is no lock in your group, knock yourself out. No, I'm not saying it's a "WARLOK WUPON OMG!", just it would benefit them more than otehr classes.

The reason everybody is so crazy about this is that it is dropping with such a friggin small percentage. And that, without ANY doubt, makes it a warlock staff. We know Blizzard hates Warlocks which is why this staff has this crappy droprate.

I will go on "farming" (as if you could farm that...) this staff but in the end I know what will happen: I will get friggin mad at Blizzard for the droprate on this, make one or two runs to MC and get me the staff of dominance. Okay, that is (in my eyes) a mage staff but at least that's an epic staff that I know I have a chance to get.
The droprate on the headmaster's charge really pisses me off... :|

I totally don't want it to be so high that everyone is having this - I just want a realistic chance to get it...1% or close to 1% dropchance would be totally fine. :(

Prior to the boss fight the warlock in my group says “if headmaster’s charge drops I get it over all no matter what” I thought he was joking so I did /laugh then said we will roll on it it’s a great staff for me(druid) our mage, or you so we roll. On use it's a aura so everyone in your grp gets
+20 int and it stacks with any +int buffs (Arcane brillance). It's a 15 min buff with a 10 min cool down. Currently I can use my

so I can buff my grp now with +66.4 stam and +20 int

ok this is the priority of who should get this staff:warlocks first of course, u can never find a better warlock weapon
second is shaman, this is an amazing staff for shaman
third is druid b/c which druid doesnt need this staff unless they got the REAL end-game druid weapon
forthis mage obly b/c its a definite caster weapon
fifth is all other classes but priests
and sixth is priests, y? b/c they have beediction which is even better for a shadow preist than this staff
But wat really sux is that there r 4 of these for the horde on my server, 2 shamans 1 druid and 1 is a PREIST

The drop rate has increased in patch 1.10. However that doesnt mean it will be dropping every run. It's still pretty rare.

All of your arguments that Stamina is a warlock's primary stat is asinine because all 3 of the stats I listed above are priest primary stats...

Priest and mages primary stats are int and spirit, not Stamina (look it up). And if you do get aggro then fade and the group should get him off you, and if a mage gets aggro frost nova and back up locks dont have a spell/ability like those so if they get aggro theycan only run around and get hit(you NEVER want to use fear in an instance) and locks need stamina more for life tapping and hell fire.

This staff is so tight. I mean, any class who uses staffs is useful for. Its like you get a group without a mage and your all sad because you want intelect buff. Then the warrior takes out headmasters charge and says wooooo here you guys go! Free lesser intellect for you all. Everyone cheers and is happy.

Regarding mage use, the question is, does the staff's buff stack with Arcane Intellect? I know that like Scrolls of Intellect don't, but I really don't know if this does or doesn't. Because if it doesn't, it would be...rather worthless for mages.

Dropped at 9:30 am server time on the Draenor US server, in a raid group today. Went to a very happy 54 priest, Evenflow, after discussion by the group. And no, there was no warlock.

got this staff a few weeks ago. started raid with 2 other locks, they had to bail. at gandling, only other caster was priest and me. i think there was a druid but doesn't matter. i out rolled the priest, even tho most in group thought it should've gone to me anyway. no biggie, i still walked out with it. :) as a matter of fact this was the only thing i walked out with, losing all the rolls earlier.

had only done scholo a few times by then. i guess it's cool they are increasing the drop rate. tho, it's kinda cool being the only i see with this staff.

just put a +30 spell damage enchant. now it has a bit of everything. very happy undead lock.

Had my best Scholo-run (1.10) yesterday...
I won 80% of the Greed rolls, completed a couple of quests AND managed to outroll the priest on this at the end.
Love it!

lifetap is not effective when you have a higher maximum health, its effective when you have some way to restore health.

Yes actually life tap is effective with more health, the more health you have the more mana you get from life tap. And healthstone + bandage + drain life + death coil to regain lost health.

if stamina is the top stat on all your gear, you have crappy gear.

They didn't give us some more stamina because we need health, they gave us stamina because they know we can convert that health into mana... ditz

stamina doesn't make spells do any more damage or cost any less mana, so stamina isn't helping you there either.

...hell niether does intellect, so whats the problem with me getting stamina? just because intellect gives +5 more?...I don't think you got what i was saying rrm, we locks can make up for the lost mana with life tap. Ok say i had this-100%health 5% mana. Use life tap. With the extra health you gain extra mana if you have enough for the life tap requirements, so in the end you might have 100%mana 15% health depending on how much health you have then you use HS,bandage,death coil,drain life. Use HS or bandage(when not being attacked) then you have 100% everything while your in combat so you can keep busting ass. So the more stamina does equal health but it also means more mana for us locks...

I just ran Scholo with a pug. I though hey maybe I can get some good drops...(Warrior). We killed ras and I got my hammer, didn't really want it but I got it. We are goin on and this:奥兰纳的拥抱 goes to a nice priest that ive grouped with b4,"yay for you grats" etc... moving on we get to Darkmaster Gandling and whadda know he drops this! goes to a SHAMAN! Im not mad, just a little discourages that Blizz puts in NOTHING like this stuff (1% epic drops) for warriors. Thanks again Blizz!

shaman are the only class that will utilize the high dps of the weapon. the dps is the weapon's most outstanding stat. the other stats are ok, but can be gotten from other gear. you can only get 58.4 dps on a weapon. shaman have to take a talent to use two-handed weapons except staves, making this a great DPS weapon that resto shaman could use.

casters shouldn't be taking hits, so they don't need 30 stamina. a shaman in melee might be getting hit, so the stamina benefits them more than a caster.

20 spirit is nice, but it also benefits a shaman in melee more than other classes. a shaman that's meleeing and being the backup healer will be out of a casting state more than your main healer or DPS casters.

the intellect buff benefits everyone in your party. if a priest gets this staff, they may be in groups where they are the only mana user. one shaman usually can't handle all of the healing for a group, so a shaman is more likely to be grouped with other mana users which will maximize the effectiveness of this buff.

not only do shaman benefit from each aspect of this weapon more than casters do, but there is nothing for shaman that this weapon is missing. when playing the role of the backup healer, shaman don't need a lot of +healing from gear. shaman already have big heals and will overheal a lot with no +healing. a backup healer doesn't need the biggest and best heals, they just need to fill in the gaps left by the main healer. while +spell crit would help a shaman, that just translates to more aggro and even more overhealing for a backup healer. for dps casters, this staff is very lacking in the damage department. and for a dps caster, that's the most important department.

if you want to go purely by the benefits that each class gets from this weapon, its best for shaman. though its best for shaman, its not very good for them. its a fun weapon to have for the intellect buff, but its not a very good staff for anyone. the only time i'd use this staff is when i'm grinding, but with the number of scholo raids it would take to get one of these, you'd probably be 60 already.

You are right this staff is for many races because many use those atributes, but look at it this way,

Life tap=stamina and we locks need stamina

more stamina for us means more moves we can use,

and look at the dreadmist, skulls on the shoulders bones on the wrist, wouldnt u think this is the perfect final touch?

Ummm.... Has anyone else noticed that this staff gives spirit? Almost no class really needs spirit except druids, because they're either casting spells constantly or drinking out of battle. I say that this is a druid staff. High DPS and stamina for feral fighting, spirit to regenerate your mana while youre in feral forms, and an intellect buff for when you need to get out of feral to heal yourself. PERFECT for a druid!

I did actually get this staff on my mage, and i rolled against a warlock who had staff of dominance.
At the time i didn't realize it was this rare but since i have yet to get into a raid for MC or onyxia or whatever 40 man places there are i'm glad i got this staff. just cause it has a skull on it doesn't make it specificlly a warlock item, i don't see many warlocks with high spirit.

This staff definitely is NOT just for warlocks.

Yeah, yeah, it's got skulls, and yeah, it's got lots of Stamina. But that's precisely it. Mages have crud all health as it is, and 300 health is great to a mage, but only good for a warlock.

I have a priest, mage and warlock (plus others), and I would roll on this for ANY of them if they needed it for an upgrade. And yes, my warlock is level 60, but I would not be upset about losing it to a mage or priest - a druid I would have to think about. Well, at least I wouldn't be upset because of class... I'd be pretty bummed for losing the roll though!

Ok, but a hunter, warrior, etc? Cloth wearers are fairly limited with their choice of weapons, so I really think classes that have a much broader weapon choice should let the more limited classes go first.

The cooldown on it has changed. Its now 10 minyte cooldown, but still lasts 15 minutes.

Great with the new Buff that buffs everyone in the group.

Im a druid and got it with +22 int, and I couldnt be happier.

I almost lost the roll to a hunter, we both rolled 100, but we all declined reroll, so I got it. Lucky me I guess.

Anyone who is'nt warlock and even thinks about rolling on this should REALLY think about what he is doing...

Warlocks need ONE thing, stamina.
As a secondary stat, they need Intellect, Spell Damage, and some warlocks CRIT. Some HIT. Depending on your build.
There is NO other caster class that need stamina as much as a warlock. Heck, not even warriors makes more use of stamina.

Druids does NOT need this, its insane!
Heres why:
If a druid in fact really needs stamina, its because he is playing a lot in bear form, thus making use of his "20% more stamina in bearform" talent.
Ok, well if a druid is playing a lot in bearform, he des NOT require a lot of spirit and intellect too! There are a lot of nice maces and even staffs out there that gives both strength and stamina!

There are 2 staffs in the game that gives you more stamina than this one...

Does it say warlock only anywhere? - no. Mages are also after stamina/int, nubs. Priests can also make use of Int/Sta/Spi.

Just because it looks freaky doesn't mean it belongs to warlocks. If this dropped for my mage or priest I would roll need, warlocks can go jump.

It's quite difficult to get benediction, so if it was an upgrade for the priest the priest should roll.

any warlock that would take this over soul harvester or rod of the ogre magi is silly. any spell damage staff from a raid would be better than this staff too. weapons are a crucial slot for spell damage, so taking something with no spell damage is crippling.

stamina is no better for warlocks than it is for any other class. lifetap does not convert stamina to mana, it converts health to mana. health is what's useful to warlocks. stamina is a good source of health, but not good enough.

assuming you have these talents:
from 1 point of atamina, you effectively get 1.15 stamina.

1.15 stamina gives you 11.5 hit points.

lifetapping converts 1 health into 1.2 mana, so you'd convert 11.5 hit points into 13.8 mana.

1 point of intellect gives you 15 mana. purely for mana, intellect comes out ahead.

but like i said, health is what's useful to a warlock, not stamina. warlocks have many ways to get health: drain life, siphon life, healthstones, and demon armor.

rank 6 of drain life steals 355 life and costs 300 mana. that's already efficient, but let's assume the warlock goes for +shadow damage instead of +stamina gear, and they have +190 shadow damage (+250 shadow damage is easily attainable from high level 5 man instances).

+190 shadow damage has half effectiveness on life leeching spells, so you effectively get +95. since drain life is a single target spell done over time, you get that full +95 damage. drain life heals you for the amount of damage dealt, so now you're stealing 450 life at the cost of 300 mana.

lifetap would convert 450 health into 540 mana. so you spent 300 mana to get 540 mana and end up with the same amount of health. that is why health is useful to a warlock, because you can use it to turn 300 mana into 540 mana by using health as an intermediate step. that had nothing to do with how much your max health is, or how much stamina you have. increasing your stamina will not make that conversion any more efficient, but increasing your bonus to shadow damage will.

note: the conversion is already efficient with no +shadow damage and no talents to help. drain life gives you more health than it costs mana, and life tap is, at worst, a one-to-one conversion. the worst case for rank 6 of drain life would be spending 300 mana to get 355 mana. the bonus to shadow damage is just to show that stamina does not help it at all, but shadow damage does.

Guys, seriously shammys? Can't believe you actually think shammys is entitled to roll on a staff ahead of mage, druid, priest or warlock. He can get it if no warlock, mage, druid or priest wants it. We wanted warlocks in our raid, but none wanted to join. Instead we got another mage. The locks can regret now :p The staff dropped and one of the mages won it. It also dropped a Dreadmist mask, but since there were no warlocks, the other mage got it (he was still sad for losing the roll on the staff) :)

On Alliance side I'd agree Warlocks 1st.

On Horde side I'd be inclined to say that shamans and warlocks can fight for it. Shamans can seriously use the stamina AND the intel, AND gain the benefit of the high DPS (and without having to put talent points into being able to use a 2h mace or axe). No matter what kind of shaman you are or what you're doing, this is great.

However, frankly, most people will never see it even if they do a hundred scholo runs so it hardly really matters.

I won this a couple of weeks back, it's a very nice piece. I'd never go so far to say that it fits the Warlock class best, as it's really for any caster class that can benefit for it.

If you're lucky enough to see it drop, and you're someone with a mana pool (EXCEPT Hunter or Paladin), you should be allowed to roll on this without being accused of ninjalooting.

Priests need stamina too because they can take agro and get hits. If you toss a +22 INT enchant on this, you can get 37 INT 30 STA and 20 SPI all from 1 weapon.I do believe those are all 3 major stats that a priest uses.

I picked this up last night on a late night run (group kicked ass too) and those stats are far better than my Argent Crusader with +20 SPI enchant (6 STA, 30INT, 30 SPI).

Tell me why a Priest shouldnt roll on this against a warlock. (I was lucky and the group of guildies let me have it) All of your arguments that Stamina is a warlock's primary stat is asinine because all 3 of the stats I listed above are priest primary stats...

Anyway. Its going for ALL classes, but mostly for Mages/Warlocks. Reason I see this is because its GODLY for an AOE Mage, and they could always use more Stamina. Enchant this baby with +9 Intellect, and with the +30 Intellect use, your looking at a

+39 Intellect
+30 Stamina
+20 Spirit

What kind of Mage WOULDNT like that? Warlocks and Druids arent the only classes that are looking for more Stamina anyway. I hate it when people think Mages shouldnt have any Stamina. If a Mage didnt have any Stamina they wouldnt be AOEing and it would screw them over REALLY badly, it would also screw the group over REALLY badly. Anyway, im a 60 Mage and I have this staff, and I love it. Flame all you want, I dont care really.

Its harder to us to get epic weapons designed to our class (Meaning Warlocks). This is the only epic staff what is geared for warlocks and the only one which drops outside of MC. Other classes can buy their epic weapons from ah or gain trhough quests. It has 1/500 drop chance..

Say it with me: the aura applies to warlock pets.

If this staff were simply 30 sta, 20 spi, 20 int, I would have no issue with any caster (or anyone who could use it) rolling. But it's not.

To put it simply, the int aura is what makes this so godly for warlocks. Pet buffs are hard to come by (there are only 2 other items which buff warlock pets) and this gives a HUGE boost to mana. It would even justify putting points into fel intellect! So please consider this before rolling against a warlock for it (even if he's too dumb to realize this point and just wants it because it looks "kewl").

And in closing, the aura applies to warlock pets. :)

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned where this would rock- A Moonkin Druid in a raid grop grouped with casters. Everyone in his group would get +20 int AND +2 to spell crit.

we did a 5 warlock only run of scholo just for kicks. cleared the entire place including jandice and the boss you summon with blood of the innocents. how perfect is that, the staff drops when its all warlocks there?

Sorry this is a warlock staff , anyone can see that and if a mage/priest rolls on this for the stupid int buff they are freaken nuts.

So you will only use this for the added int buff then put it away? You would out roll a warlock just for that! Who could use it 24/7? A warlock can.

Gezz us for crap sakes.

If I rolled on a dagger with 50dps I would be blacklisted forever.

Mages could use the stam for pvpin and aoe'in.. i rolled and won this last night, lock was pissed haha.. the reason why i want this is i get extra survival time when i aoe or pvp, i would rather die with no mana than die with 75% mana... plus if lock say they need stam so they can use it for mana during game then i suggest to focus more on int than stam and see how they like it to die with alot more mana in their pool.

a priest in my guild showed up with this today. the locke in the raid didnt want it... total idiot, but then anyway, another locke ((who wasnt even in the scholo raid, and in no way related to the locke who was)) kicked our priest out of a Uppers raid later that same day b/c he was so upset that a priest was wielding it.

look this staff is good for priest and locks both but how i look at is if its an upgrade for both people in the group then you should both NEED roll on it and let that see who gets the staff...i am a priest useing soulkepper(+26 spirit and +11int) and i would need on this if i got the chance

I agree, that's totally sweet for warlocks, but i'd understand if other classes would also roll for it (caster classes, if a warrior would roll, i'd go mad)

Oh my god, dropped for my group the first time i was in scholo.. since it was epic we decided to pass and then decide who picks this up.

Guess what.. that priest in group 1 rolled 18. WTF! ^^ everyone passed, so he got it. the druid was really pissed. I feel really sorry for him now.. Guess the priest vendored it. lol. (he didn't put it on)

Just received it on my Warlock (Twink) LeveL 59.
Was my 3rd Scholomance Run with my Lock. xD
rolled a 92 against a Hunter with a 89 (He was Lootmaster).
But he wasnt a ninjalooter.. so this staff is MINE! :D

Got it yesterday, and im a druid.
I got it instead of a warlock, which mainly was because of misunderstading from the locks side and the other party members. Ofc i feel bad on behalf of the lock and his even my friend. But with THAT said i must say i love this staff. I bought a +22 int enchant on it so now im buffed with 42 int konstant. I was running for Wildheart cowl (5. run) and the lucky part is that i got that 1too in the same loot. so now im a 58 druid with good equipment. Sry Bier :/

i am a shaman and would love this staff for an elemental build...very nice DPS, stam is an important stat, and the int would be appreciated as well...why do i see no shaman wanting this, just out of curiousity?

saying that stamina is no more important for locks than for any other caster is solid hard proof that whoever says it has Clearly never played a lock to any degree of high level. or if they have, they really need to re-learn how to use the class.
1. Lifetap - converet HP to mana.. if we dont have much stam this ability will shoot our HP right down, restoring v little mana and making us vulnerable to die.
2. Health funnel - transfers health from the warlock to their demon minion, again, if the lock has low stam they cannot do this ability much and will become vulnerable by using it.

Last off, why would we have talents in demonology "demonic embrace" increases stamina by 15% and decreses spirit by 5% (if all 5 TP used) <-- would be a bit pointless to have that talent if stam was no use for locks.... i think i have made my point.

(just to clarify though, i personally have no problem with mages/priests/druids rolling on this staff)

Omg... Mage ? wth... what u need it for? the INT doesn't stack probably so it kinda shows it's not for mages...
Should be used by : Druids, warlocks, shamans abit but mostly "Priests".

And stop saying, it's a rogue staff, the joke is retarded ;)

Just got this Staff last week, farmed it took 1 month 76 runs....which is pretty lucky considering its 1 in 500 drop..

Best Warlock 2h dropp ouside of BWL, got it with +22 Int. 15 min Buff 10 min cooldown to all groupmembers and their pets. STacks with all +int buffs

Its Pretty clear on 2Hs outside BWL: Priests - Benediction, Hunters - Lok'Delar, Mages - Staff of Dominance, Druids - Amberseal Keeper/ Finkle's Lava Dredger, WARLOCKS - HEADMASTER'S CHARGE

i was running scholo, wanting to snag that Bonecreeper Stylus for the +11 spell damage or the Magister's Crown, but we get to the boss, and we down him easy enough, and i was hoping to get the wand or head piece, and this staff drops.... none of us recognized it at first, i thought it was just another Corruptors Scourgestone, and i moused over it and geeked... forgot who i rolled against, if anyone... probbaly had a pally main healin.. got back to SW, raided my bank for lots of enchant mats, got the +22 INT within 12 hours, and now im one of the few mages on my server that can give his party a permenant +51 INT buff and with my +22 INT enchant, i personally get +73 INT. what makes it better is that it has the stamina and spirit to rock it, and with the enchant it balances the staff for ANY caster class, just cause its got a freakin skull sitting on top doesnt make it a warlock staff....

im a 60 lock been 60 for long time now i have not been doing scholo for a long time because i just do mainly mc and bwl but i wanted to do some scholo runs to get my AD rep up and this droped for my group

priest had his epic quest staff so he passed on it mage said it would have been better for a lock then mage plus he was only alt so i got it ^.^

The +20 Int aura is removed when you unequip the staff.

Got the staff yesterday.

Detailed explanation:

- When you apply the buff, the whole party receives the 20 int buff. When you switch weapons, buff gets removed from all party members.

- When you apply the buff, then log out - your party members will lose buff, but the wielder of the staff will still have buff. When you switch weapon, also your buff gets removed.

In short, RP weapon. I enchanted it with unholy weapon for style.

(If anyone knows how to keep the buff while using another weapon, please let me know - I can't figure it out)
