In order to attain the entire Beastmaster set (Tier 0.5) you must first get the entire Beaststalker set. Once you have gotten all of the Beaststalker set, then follow these instructions to attain the entire Beastmaster set.

To upgrade the Tier 0 (Beaststalker) set to Tier 0.5:

Bracers

* 20gold
* 15 Winterspring Blood Sample (Thottbot) (Alliance)
* 15 Silithus Venom Sample (Thottbot) (Horde)

* 1 Delicate Arcanite Converter
* 4 Greater Eternal Essence

o 40gold to Mux Manascrambler
o 40/50gold to buy a Quest Item: Fel Elemental Rod
* Extra Goblin Rocket Fuel as needed

Shoulders, Boots, & Pants

* 3 Dark Iron Bars (Thottbot)

Note: As you're level 60 when you become able to do these quests, a little of the gold you spend will be returned as quest rewards instead of XP. Calculated 611gold required approximately to do this quest, about 700gold on a more expensive server and about 40gold refunded from quest experience to gold at lvl 60.

BM quests start with BM bindings. The chain begins in Thrall's chamber in Orgrimmar. You then travel to Silithus to kill a large number of spiders and scorpions for 15 venom drops - quest specific drops only. Take those with your BS bindings and 20g back to the quest giver and he upgrades your BS bindings to BM bindings. Be aware that this then begins to split your set possibly losing some set bonuses and picking up others. YOU DO NOT NEED THE WHOLE BS SET TO START THE BM QUESTS!

Next step is to go to Gadgetzan - then things get hard and very expensive.

An interesting upgrade in that it's the only set to lose stat points by "upgrading."

Well, now second one complete.

after getting delicated arcanite converter... 25 volcanic ashes... 10 oils... 40 gold...

and u get ANOTHER quest... gather ectoplasm... this isnt happening...

When u get the collecter u get a bag with fuel and some other things, now go to Winterspring and go to the ruins.

When there put up the Collecter nearby the mobs (undead ghosts) and kill them out close to it.

Loot them and u get what u want.

Do this in plaguelands and silithus as well.

http://www.wowwiki.com/Tier_0.5 is a great resource for these quests. It lists all the quest givers, items needed, quests, etc... It is a work in progress since people still haven't finished all the quests but it is up to part 4. People will update it with latest and greatest info as it is acquired.

Does any1 know in what order you get to upgrade your armor? Bracers 1st Belt 2nd Gloves 3rd?

Soloed all the parts for the bracers then the gloves and belt. It took about 6 hrs. nonstop...by myself. I still want to get the BS shoulders b4 I get too deep into the next string of quests.

You dont even need the bracers to start the quest.

BUT yes you have to have to whole damn set to do this quest...Flat out no if ands or buts and dont argue that point.

All of the Beastmaster gear is an upgrade from the Beaststalker set. Therefore at the end of each quest line when you have had your rearend kicked in quests you will have to have the Beaststalker piece in order to trade for the Beastmaster piece.

People stop saying that this isnt worth it because gs is better or ds is better. The reason Blizz did this was so people who dont have time to do bwl or mc or aq can have some nice armor not so people can piss and moan about how " Bad " this set is.

I don't know why people are complaining about this set. I mean, sure, the stats for the pets aren't all that important to most hunters, but the BS set didn't have any extra things like that at all! Don't over think this! The complete set bonuses are the exact same, BM has more Armor, Agi, Int and Sta than BS does (the stuff that should be the important things to most Hunters), extra hit and crit chances and improvements for your pet(again, not a big deal to most, but icing on the cake regardless). The only bad thing about this set is that if you do High End raids fairly regularly, it might not be worth the trouble to get. You could skip it and go straight for GS or DS. But its a good set, and if you do a little more solo play than raids or PvP, I say go for it!

For anyone who doesn't know how to get this set...... You have to go to Ironforge and go to the kings chamber and to the left of the entrance is a lady and you do a quest for each Beastmaster peice and you usualy have to go get suplies and pay an amount and you'll get parts of the sets. Good luck ^.^

Did 45 min run last night with my guild. Easy.
we had all 60's:
1 warrior
2 rogue's
1 paladin (me)
1 priest
Tactic is easy: Go for DPS and never stop. We didn't loot but u can since we had time enough.
First kill the spider, then the banshee, then the humanoid. That way u can skip most mobs. Be sure to pull the next group before the previous one is down. After each of the three bosses u got just enough time to take a mana drink while the rest starts pulling again.
After the humanoid things will get fun: all drink a swiftness potion (they should be easy to get), rogue's don't of course. Then from the humanoid boss ALL RUN PAST THE GATE (where the venom belchers are and that closes after u pull the first 1. Once u pass it, the paladin has to DI (divine intervention) the priest (or druid). All die and the priest will rezz. This way we skipped at least 6 mobs.
The rest should be easy since it's the normal way to do a baron run.

Keep in mind that u need a paladin for this that knows how to use DI and some swiftness potions. Other tip, get a enchanter to join since u can't take time to loot bosses. Boss drops every1 passes, the enchanter greeds and if some1 needs they just need. After the run the enchanter can DE all and every1 can roll for that.

last but not least, to let u know how easy it was:
45 minutes-spider-banshee- WE WHIPED! -humanoid-rammstein-baron ==> 5 minutes left (so we did it in 40 minutes with a whipe!)
DON'T GIVE UP IF U WHIPE, IT'S STILL POSSIBLE!

the beastmaster doesnt drop, u have to upgrade it with a series of quest. they upgrade from beaststalker so wen u get beaststalker armour go to the guy in the kings room in ironforge to get the quests

I can understand people's gripe with the amount of gold this quest chain demands. I'm tryin to do the Strat UD 45min run and after 10 tries i still haven't gotten to him in time. People think it's a waste of time, but if you don't have access to the crazy instances that drop your other end game epic sets, you might as well work on your beastmaster until you can get your GS or DS sets. If you're 60, not like you got much else to do other than BG and run guildies through BRS or something. Blizz was nuts making the sets so freakin expensive though - obviously a PLOY TO GET US TO BUY GOLD from sites they no doubt get commissions from.

it costs about 200g and countless hours to upgrade from BS to BM. and imo its not worth it. the time it takes to get every BS piece is ridiculous, the set bonuses arent that great, BM upgrade is average if your bm specced.
I think Ill keep farming BG for champions pursuit. cheaper and better.

Took me 2 weeks but i did this series. And i might add the first hunter on the server to do it as well. yes i am beastmastery and this set is awesome. Was a great challenge gave me something to do in my spare time. Wanna see the full set. Look up Jessiedark on doomhammer. dam sexy set i must say.

so far i have spent about 100g and i only have bindings. it costs 150-250g altogther depending on if u buy or find the supplies. mine by the end wil have costed me 200g.

Since the set bonuses reverse on the BM set (as compared to the BS set) if you only upgrade the first 4 but wear all 8, you get the complete set bonuses anyway and it's cheaper, less hassle, and the stats are still reasonable.

Before you all /yell at me for being an idiot, let me say that I acknowlege the fact. Let me tell you why . . . they upgrade as 1, 2, 3, at a time so you can't ever upgrade just 4 of them - my apologies for being a moron, but you can still get the 6 tier 0.5 and 2 tier 0 and have all the bonuses so the intent of the point was valid. Sorry for the stupid statement.

In my situation this upgrade is totally worth it. I have a full time job and am married with two small children- I only get to play once or twice a week for 2-3 hours a shot. Granted this much time is probably enough of a window to get into a REALLY efficient MC or BWL raid, but typically guilds that can get that efficient are run like business themselves- you have to put in EXTRA time to get on the list to go- extra time which I do not have.

The other option for good gear is to PVP which is just completely broken under the current system. I am the type of casual player who can do lots of little things over a long period of time- not dropping 5-6 hours each session playing.

So far doing these upgrade quests is pretty easy and has been doable with only 4-5 others.

Mind you, I am only half way through- I need to get to the Baron in 45 minutes- but I have been able to collect all the mats I need for the third quests series already.

We'll see how I feel about it in a few months when I have the complete set :)

you can start useing beaststalker at 51 staring with bracers and you end up being able to use the chest piece at lvl 58, you can only upgrade your pieces of armour at lvl doing very expensive quests. BTW beastmasetr owns beaststalker. although beastmaster looses stats it gives you more of the stats you really need.

Well I finally finished this long and tedious chain.

I did this merely for a test mind you, I know its ALOT easier to get tier 1 and 2 in a guild raid. The following are my thoughts on this questline and the armor.

1. The stats may be only slightly better than the armor its upgraded from. However any points to me that are higher even if a small number are sometimes worth it.

2. Not that this matters but you get more bragging rights to having more epics than before.

3. If you are like me and are even in a high end game content raiding guild you may NOT want to have to wait for certain times of the day / week to have a CHANCE at giantstalker in MC....i.e. Rolling against other hunters for it then have to wait days to try again when you can PROBABLY pug it and get beastalker/master.

4. The whole set and quest chain for me was done in a PUG thats right people a PICK UP GROUP. Hardest parts for me to get done were gettin a group that didnt suck for the 45 min baron ...and finally Lord Valathak at the end.

5. Although a nice set, remember it actually works better for Beast Master spec players. Although im not beast spec it still helps my exisiting spec better as the pet gets a lil more pepper in fights now.

To be honest getting T1 is FASTER than getting this set if you have a raiding guild. I think it took me about 3 months or so to get the set. You will spend ALOT of money , time and farming effort to get this set. Most hunters on my server do the first three upgrades then quit. For most its not worth the time and money put in compared to what the end items you get are.

However I felt a GREAT self gratifying feeling when I got the last two pieces and to me that was well worth it. It gave me something new and different yet still somewhat the same, to do. If you choose to take up this task more power to you you will get frustrated ALOT.

Things I would change about this quest.

1. Since its not THAT big of a change ( even cosmetically ) over what you upgrade the quest line is WAY too expensive. Cut out alot of the fees altogether or at LEAST cut them in half. What blizzard failed to realize is alot of 60s are normal "working class" players, as in they have no more than 10 to 20 gold tops on them at a time. If you are always saving just enough money for flights to the next dungeon run you know what im talkin about.

2. Some of the quest require you to have TWO pieces
of the set before you can finish and upgrade and it makes you do them BOTH at the same time. Why? As hard as it is I would make it 1 piece at a time. It would also hold more people interested in the quest to actually do the damn thing. Lord knows its hard enough to get the beast stalker cap off Gandling in scholo ( 44 runs I did for mine ).

3. When you upgrade something the goal is not to TAKE away from the original items power. Example the beaststalker boots had three stats on them. The EPIC boots you exchange for them have only 2. You lose intelligence stat for a pet % ability. To me thats not worth the trade off. Some other pieces have simialr switch ups. Leave the original stuff on the original item and then ADD something new for the upgrade dont take stuff away or trade it for somethiing else nubcakes!

4. Travel locations in the quest I would change. EVERYONE hates when they have to get this to bring here etc. It sux worse when you have to get something from point A and bring it to point B then point B wants you to bring it to point A again when you could just got all the crap from point A and headed to point B in the first place and be done with it. Yeah a little traveling around is fun and relaxing on the flight but sometimes its a lil too much.

and finally....

5. Youve spent hundreds of hours. Youve spent hundres of gold. Youve went to every corner on both continents. Youve done quests to summon new bosses and owned em. You got mad alot when your group sucked or quit and you had to WAIT to try again when you were ready....finally you complete the whole set and get the whole set upgraded to tier 05. Your reward.? SAME GEAR WITH DIFFERENT COLORS! What the hell guys? Change the look instead of changing color pallettes. It looks damn nice mind you but still. All that $%^& I went thru and you just give me a new paint job?
