i'll give this a spin tomorrow. sounds like a lot of fun.
Hunter is certainly not dead! I'm personally running an original Hunter deck of my own design and currently has me at Rank 3. Here is my deck if anyone is interested http://www.hearthhead.com/deck=65145/ggodhand-hunter-midrange. I'm thinking about using the best of both decks, so I may modify and add in some substitute cards after reading this article by williedills. Anywho, goodjob wiliie, these are always fun to read.
Also forgot to say that I too am a Giant's fan and am very surprised and happy to hear that Hunter Pence plays Hearthstone. It's always very cool to find out an athlete you admire plays the same video games that you do. It's awesome that an MLB player is a fellow nerd!
Seems like is the card of the moment.
On the show there was discussion of running Greenskin. What should be swapped out for that variant?
So, I've been running a very similar deck to this for some time now. And the only place I seem to be having a fair bit of trouble is against Zoolocks. Any suggestions how to play them or what to add to help beat a few more zoolocks?
I am in no way an experienced player but I'm not a total noob either and I absolutely loved this deck. I changed it around a bit due to me missing some cards (most notably a second eaglehorn bow and a second flare) and because I built it from "memory" after only reading the decklist once but I went on a 5 game winning spree before I stopped getting from rank 18 to 15, something I hadn't managed before, in very little time. Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for the article, the deck is a lot of fun. PD. I can post my modifications if anyone's interested
I swapped out Dills' boyfriend, , for ol' Cap'n Weapon Buff, and I've been having a good go of it thus far. This sub maintains the deck's aggro mana curve and essentially trades one stat (a 5/4 for a 5/5) for a more deck-thematic card text (offensive damage rather than prevent defense). Really glad Willie mentioned this fun and effective substitution on the show. It's a great use for a card many have dusted, and it sure will be glorious when I finally pull off the -into- dream in magical Christmasland! Drink up, me hearties.
Awesome deck, thank you!
I agree that hunter class in hearthstone is not dead, just that my deck is an entirely different story than the given one :)
Secret/weapon deck is great and I had just started doing something similar prior to this deck being posted. Having said that, I've had some great success today with my old Hunter deck (I was feeling sorry for my opponents' frustration with my never-ending secrets :D ). I got some awesome plays in with the Buzzard (scored a Snake Trap and an Unleash off it in one game). So I would say that Buzzard isn't dead either!
