Go to Fallen Sky lake at 68/83 and kill a few of the Shadethinket Stonemovers and one of them has the Withered Scarf.

I was surprised this was done better then I expected. A brand new quest put into tbc and one that depicts two orcs in a way I never though they would show.

It's the first lake on the left (to the west) as you enter the zone from the Barrens. 15 kills and the item dropped.

Q item drops from the bog lords around the lake. For me it dropped from like 4-5th.

Lake is North as you leave Barrens heading to Ashenvale... Literally 50meters / first lake you step into.

It's not until you get to this quest that you realize Magar & Krilge represent an instance of man-love. Such relationships don't pop up in WoW very often; I wonder if this quest represents the first time it appeared.

This quest name is a reference to the song "Wish You Were Here" by the rock band Incubus. The followup to this quest teaches you how to summon the warlock pet Incubus. Only then did I at last get the reference.

Drop rate for the scarf is pretty bad SOD, had to kill almost 40 and the mobs are 25-27, so don't come out here at level 20 once you get the quest. This also gives the incubus summon but the succubus quest is way easier, so probably skip this one until 25.

I killed many of the lower level swamp guys. It didn't drop until I killed a level 30 Shadethicket Oracle at the center of a lake. 67, 82

Another complete ass classic quest. Why do they torture you with such bad drop rates? It's ridiculous. 2%? Not to mention half the mobs evade. Fix this buggy ass quest, blizzard. No excuse for this type of crap still being this bad in 2024.

Attacked the Shadethicket Oracle at the Center of the lake, and brought it back to the guards at the entrance to Ashenvale. It chased the whole way, the guards killed, and it dropped the scarf. Hope this wasn't crazy luck and it helps someone down the line.

It's now Cataclysm and I have been going up and down each river and all the lakes suggested and nothing. I watched an entire movie while doing this. Anyone else having issues with this quest as of Cataclysm?

I am over 600+ kills on the Shadethicket Stone Movers and Shadethicket Bark Rippers, and still haven't landed the drop. Is this truly how the quest was designed to be?

Description

I met Krilge while making Mooncloth in Ashenvale. He was stationed there to protect civilians from danger, until he disappeared... They've stopped looking for him and consider him a deserter, but I don't believe it. We would often meet at Fallen Sky Lake before it became overrun by those aggressive bog beasts. I'm not typically one to ask favors, but if you could go to Ashenvale and look for any sign of him, I'd appreciate it.
