Use the hammer ability (1) twice on each Twilight Stormbender.
Save your shield (2) until they a lightning is channeled on you. The shield needs to be up when that channeling stops or you'll take quite a great deal of damage.

I had a bit of difficulty with this quest.

Spam #1 while targeting a mob (each mob needs to be hit twice). Watch for a stream of lightning "attached" to you and use your #2 button to "absorb" the damage. "Absorbing" 3 charges will cause larger amounts of damage with #1.

After killing the 12 Stormbenders, your gryphon will fly higher where the final mob is located. Stormbenders may continue to attack you with the lightning, so keep aware and use #2 as needed.

Use same tactics with Servias Windterror. When Windterror has about 135k health left, you will be dismounted from your gryphon and have to kill him using your class abilities. He will cast his static flux, at which time you will have to move to the edge of the platform until he's done casting it or you will take massive amounts of damage (I died -- twice..). When you've finished him off, you will be mounted on a gryphon and flown to safety.

If at any point your gryphon dies, you will fall to the ground to your death unless you have slowfall etc. You will automatically be resurrected at the graveyard located near the quest giver.

If you stuff up the quest and your gryphon dies, usually you will fall to your death. However if you happen to land on one of the floating islands you will remain in combat even through Feign Death, so will need to jump off and kill yourself as you can't mount or do anything to get off the island.

If you have a good reaction time, make sure you cast static shield HALFWAY through his flux beam, otherwise it will end and damage you at the same time.

So i missed the part about grabbing a gryphon... Did this as an 84 bal druid and just killed the stormbenders from a different floating rock. They didn't attack back or go into "evade" mode because of it. Servias was a bit more difficult but kept up some great heals and managed to kill him eventually. Upon his death, I was automatically put on a gryphon back to questgiver.

I had difficulty with this quest due to the fact that when my gryphon was about to die, instead of dismounting me and letting me parachute to the ground, it just floated to the ground, fell into a hole I can't climb out of, wont fly for me, and is refusing to let me "exit the vehicle".

The quest is bugged. After Moore Gryphon Rider says: "He's castin' something big! Stop'm!", my gryphon goes to the ground, and does not want to fly anymore. Only walk. Dismount also does not work: "You can't do this now", or something like this. You can only relog to dismount and re-take the quest (or only to re-mount on the gryphon), but this also does not work, because causes the same result.

If you have such bug, the only way is to be in party, or just with somebody around doing the same quest - don't know why, but this helped me, and the boss did not go gray, even though he had been tagged by another player not from my party.

Most probably, the bug happens because instead of lowering you on the rock for usual fight, your gryphon lowers you in arbitrary point, resulting to going to the ground, and not to the boss's rock.

The info in the other posts is correct about the lighting. When you get to Servias, don't throw the hammer until you have absorbed three lightings. then the hammer does a huge AOE. I only thew the hammer after three lightnings and when the griffin dropped me, the Servias only had about 63,000 health left. Cake to kill. (Don't forget to avoud his AOE.)

As I was fighting the mob boss my gryphon died and dropped me right next to the boss. I fought the boss and killed it. I am a prot pally with 87k hp but it was pretty tough. As the mob boss died the gryphon returned, picked me up and delivered me to the quest giver.

On Terokkar, I tried this 2 or 3 times with the red. Read these comments, and now I'm trying with the gold. With the red, I kept getting, "Invalid Target." I was hitting the heck out of them, too. it bugged a bit, but I finally finished it, when the health stopped, and I died. only 3 gold repair.

ok, so after wiping on the first two attempts on the last boss...what i found out to do, is spam "1" (your main attack) until he starts channeling "static charge". at that point you you to hit "2" that is the ability that you need to shield. Once i did this he was really easy to down, and still once he hit about 100k i got dismounted and had to finish him off by hand

I died once (damn you mistimed shield D:) and when i got back to a gryphon i found that it didn't start to follow the path anymore and that i could manualy fly the thing.
So i went to look for the boss (killed 12 cultists) and he wasn't there. Came here to look if someone knew. Heard some background noise and i was back on the path

Long story short: if you die, grab a new gryphon and wait :)

found it a bit confusing so hope this helps if it happens to you :p

Priests, if you're doing this quest and die (because you have no idea what you're doing, like me), don't forget to levitate. I did and watch my poor gryphon companion and his rider drop to their ultimate demise while and float gently down and tread on their corpses (and that of others. There were like six people who died at that same spot, apparently.

This quest is seriously bugged. I think Blizz should fix it before anybody plays it. I was able to finish off the 12 demons okay but when the fight with the boss came up, that's when the bugs started crawling. I had got the boss down to about 25% when the gryphon dropped me on the rock. I had no protection and whenever I tried to attack it said "invalid target". The message says, "he's casting a big one, stop him!" There is no way to stop him, there is nowhere to hide. You die. I tried several times and finally got him by feign death and using a bandage while my pet attacked. If you die while fighting the boss you get another gryphon, he takes you right to the boss...he's reset and you have to get him back down to 25% and attack from there on the ground.

There should be an achievement just for getting this quest to work. Name it "I didn't throw my computer through a window" or something to that effect.

I took a blue gryphon, it glitched on the boss when he said "he's casting a bit one, stop him!" and the gryphon dropped to the ground with half my life left. I couldn't dismount, fly or do much of anything but run about in circles.

After reading what was posted here I rode the gryphon south and let a dragon kill me to fix the dismount problem. (You can use any mob to kill yourself, it just seemed less embarrassing that a dragon was doing it and not some rabid mountain vole)

When I recovered my body I went back, got on a gold gryphon. It took me straight to the boss fight. When Servias was down to roughly 25% health the gryphon dropped me onto the rock next to the boss. I'm a hunter and my pet wouldn't attack until the 6th time of mashing the attack button. It was a close fight. Servias hit for 24454 Nature, then 2733 Shadow. Lather, rinse repeat. I did kill him, barely. The gryphon reappears and you automatically jump back on him....then sit there forever unable to move. After about 5 minutes the gryphon took off on its own and delivered me to the quest giver.

Bugged beyond bugged. Good luck!

I simply went over to a creature, waited for it to attack the bird, killed it, I was finally free!

This quest is a serious pain in the ass. Once on the platform with Servias Windterror what the hell do you do? The dwarf says he's casting something stop him but i cant and there is no apparent place to hide to avoid the attack. Tried to move to edge of platform as someone suggested but died a couple times. How can you stop the casting of windterror or find a hiding place?

As a lvl 85 shadow priest i can't do this quests without the boss killing me when he does his "big one" :s
Ive tried moving to the edge of the platform but ive been killed 5 times now -.- Any suggestions?

Just did this on my Death Knight and died way too many times. Once I figured out to just keep hitting my "Target Next Enemy" hotkey while spamming my hammer and putting up my shield a bit after they zapped me I got all the little guys down. Same thing when I finally got zoomed up to the big boss but after I got dropped on his rock I still died three times. Then when I just avoided his big zaps and ran in to hit him with some diseases and got out again before he started casting again I did beat him. But just barely.

Once you kill the 12 little guys, if you die the griffin will take you right up to the boss, but he takes you through the little guys so you can absorb three charges and super-charge your hammer.

Was one of the harder quests. Might be easier for ranged DPSers.

I just did this quest twice and had the same problem.After killing the 12 mobs and flying up to fight the boss instead of dismounting on the rock my gryphon just fell slowly to the ground.I let mobs kill me ,rezzed at graveyard and flew up on my own mount to fight the boss and was able to complete it this way.It is definitely bugged.Once you down the boss you are mounted back on the gryphon and flown back to the quest giver.

Just my personal findings. I did the quest 3 times with a blue gryphon (logging out each time it bugged). The 4th time I used a white gryphon and it worked perfectly.

This bugged for me when using the blue gryphon, as the quest just before this one bugged while using my pet, i tried mounting the golden gryphon with my pet dismissed and it didnt bug.

Not sure if it was the pet or the blue gryphon, but as i have done this quest 4 times before on the blue gryphon on a non pet class without it bugging it seems to me it was the pet

I found that if you wait until someone else is doing the same quest and is attacking the boss on top, you can join them and still get credit. When I first got up "on top" there was no boss there. Then he appeared and was attacking me when I saw someone else attacking him on the other side. When the boss, Servias, got down to low health, we were both dismounted to the rock platform and, working together we killed the boss. My quest log said "completed" so I went back and collected.

I died twice before I decided to come onto Wowhead & view comments. I didn't have any trouble killing the 12 people but when I got onto the boss that's when I died twice. Note: use the 1 & 2 keys on your keyboard, it works so much better than your mouse. I put my shield up first, then I kept spamming 1, then when my shield was ready to use I hit that right away, or else he'll take super-massive hits out of your health. Good luck.

If you're an unholy DK just pop your Anti-Magic Shell for the first static flux, your Anti-Magic zone for the second and if he casts a third it only does about 20k dmg so just weather it through if you can.

I had a look here after easily beating the 12 then struggling with the boss. Only by looking here did i realise i was pressing shield at the wrong time, but whenever it said i had absorbed 3 so my hit would do more damage it simply said 'Evade' so as i was taking way more damage and couldn't dismount, the gryphon died and i plummeted to ground.

So i changed my battleplan. I simply mounted my drake, flew up and killed it.
Much easier to kill on foot than flailing around on a gryphon.

So for anyone still struggling just fly up and kill it.

Boss is easy-peasy if you know how.

Just wait for debuff before you hit #2. Hit #1 as soon as it's off C/D. Do it right and you won't lose any health.

Everyone here seems to be doing this quest wrong... I just did it on 2 of my characters and got it done the first time. After you kill the 12 Twilight Stormbenders then you fly up to the boss. Spam the #1 button until he casts his bolt, in the middle of his cast hit #2 to block his bolt. When you are dismounted ATTACK him to stop his casting and finish him off (do not run away for you will surely die if he completes his cast) :)

I'm having no success with this quest, so I wanted to skip this one and go elsewhere but I think that I have to finish this disaster before I can progress to other quests in Twilight Highlands. So can someone tell me what the next quest I can pick up here?

Steps made easy

1. Hop on a gryphon
2. Use Storm Shield when you are getting hit by lighting
3. Use Storm Hammer when you fly over the rocks with the Twilight Stormbender on them
4. Once you kill 12 of Twilight Stormbender then you'll fly up to Servias Windterror
5. Use Storm Shield when you are getting hit but lighting
6. Use Storm Hammer to throw a strike back at him

By the time I got up to the boss, my health was pretty pitiful, so he killed me and sent my griffin and I to our deaths. After rezing, I simply mounted up on my own bird and flew up and took him on like normal, making short work of the boss. After killing him, I was automatically put on a griffin and transported back down. One death.... not too bad for this hunter with crap gear.

I just finished this with my fire mage. No bugs found.

What to expect.
There are no different colors of mounts now. Just get on one.

You will be flying around and getting shot at by the guys on the rocks overhead.
Spam button 1 continually and you will see that you will be slowly making kills.

VERY IMPORTANT! When you receive a sustained energy blast, count to 4 and hit the shield. Do not shield to quickly or you will receive a lot of damage.

After the 12 guys are killed your gryphon will take you up to the boss. Shoot him the same as before. When the boss is down to about 25% life, you will be dropped on the rock to blast him using your regular attack methods. When finished the gryphon will take you back.to the quest giver.

NOTE. There was another player attacking the boss at the same time from his gryphon, so I think he got credit for the kill also but he didn't land. Try to do this while other players are trying for the boss and it will be easier. It appeared to reduce the amount of energy blasts I received when other players were present also.

Found sweet spot for ranged and mobs kept spwaning and got this done in 5min.

I got the 12 minions okay but I got killed a bunch of times fighting Servias Windterror from the gryphon. Got tired of it, so I just flew up to his rock with my own mount and killed him with my regular powers. (Lvl 85 mage) He was pretty tough but I managed to finish him off.

Oh... u needed a gryphon x) I did all of this as a 84 feral druid. The big guy was kinda tough, but managing barkskin, survival instincts and frenzied regeneration cooldowns along with cyclone+heal combo I managed to get it out with 100% (undamaged).

Died 4 times trying to figure the mechanics of this. Figured I'd ignore my broken equipment until after the quest was done since I'd probably die again anyway.

Surprize! You have to fight the guy. And I got creamed even by a non-elite since I had only 1/3 of my equipment working. Fixed it and killed the guy in 10 seconds.

Annoying quest when you have no idea what's going on. That's the problem with these vehicle quests. They are actually kind of fun once you get it, but by the time you get, it it's over and you never do it again unless you do another character.

The above tips helped, but what I missed was, after landing on the rock with the boss, start the attack before moving back to the edge. Though that didn't seem to help much so maybe I just got lucky on my sixth try as a frost mage.

For Locks, not ~~you~~, just Locks :) The boss is hard because we are clothies ofc :S Follow all the other suggestions till you get to boss. Be prepared! Before you start the quest, load Destro talents, don your Demon Armor, get your Imp out, now here's the essential part, when you land on the platform immediately drop an Infernal on his head, then rapidly blast him to hell. You will take damage, it will be scary but have faith in your Infernal, he will not let you down :) After the quest finishes and you get on your Gryphon, watch your Infernal. He will run down through the air landing on platforms as he goes to follow you, eventually landing in a pile of rubble on the ground. Infernal rocks :)

It's been a couple years since I last had to say this, but this quest ain't bugged ..... it's just stupidly designed. Let's hope Blizzard have fired the idiot who created this. I incurred 21 Gold damage (84 Warrior, died 3 times) before I killed the 12 mobs, then proceeded to the main dude (Servias) and got killed again. The method of targetting for the hammer is weird. It don't show clearly that you are actually locked on. Also, you have to hit a mob a couple times to kill him. So, while you are flapping round, you have to make sure you target a mob whose health you have already reduced by a first hit ! The rewards are 72450 XP, 18 Gold and a piece of armour you can sell for 9 Gold. You decide ..... I'd rather spend the time farming herbs in this area. They sell well for grinding by an inscriptionist !

Someone back in January reported that their gryphon died and they ended up on a rotating rock in the sky with apparently no other option but to jump off. Here it is October and I find this problem still exists. It happened to me while I was working on the last mob in the quest.

Being a Pally I bubbled (Divine shield protects you from all damage for 8 seconds), jumped off the rotating rock and landed on some thorns, rebuffed, flew up myself and took the guy out, with some difficulty. It told me to move away from him when he did his big thing (don't recall what it was), which saved me alot of damage.

As soon as he was dead, a gryphon appeared and took me to the questgiver. Wrote a ticket.

As an 84 BM Hunter I flew up to a rock, in range of Twilights, killed 12 with my gun. Flew up to Servias, my pet held agro while i shot Servias. Tales a few minutes.When Servias is dead, the gryphon takes you back.

Did this quest on my mage, misstimed my shield and the gryphon fell. Not wanting to die I used blink which then caused the vehicle ui to stay and no hotkeys were working, until I relogged.
This quest needs to be fixed as it seems to have a lot of bugs.

I must be missing something obvious here. Everyone is saying dismount and fight the boss, but the "leave vehicle" button does absolutely nothing. I cannot dismount, and the gryphon doesn't land either - I just get zapped by the boss and die.

How do you dismount to fight him?

Okay, once you figure it out, it is pretty easy.
First, don't put up the shield until after the lightning hits you. If you don't wait, the shield won't last long enough.
Second, don't use the hammer until you have 3 stacks built up. It will tell you next to the mini map with a lightning symbol and a number if it is stacked. You should be able to kill 3 or 4 at a time this way.
Third, use the same method for killing Servias. Build up 3 stacks of the static lightning charges then hit him with the hammer. After you do this about five times, you will have taken him down to pretty low hp and it will dismount you to fight him, which by now is pretty easy.You will then be put back on your gryphon so you can turn the quest in, finished. Voila!

Thanks to you and Iain, we've got enough riders together that we can take the fight back to the Twilight.

Pick your gryphon and join the fight. Best be quick about it though - we're aimin' to clear every last one of those Twilight off of those floatin' rocks before the hour's out.
