Head over to the Hinterlands and find Qiaga the Keeper (https://www.wowhead.com/cata/npc=7996), she should drop a Sacred Mallet (https://www.wowhead.com/cata/item=9241).

Take the mallet to the Jintha'Alor altar located at 59, 77. When used on the altar you'll end up with the Mallet of Zul'Farrak (https://www.wowhead.com/cata/item=9240).

Use that to ring the gong at the end of Zul'Farrak. This will summon Gahz'rilla. Good luck!

Once you are in Zul'Farrak, you can find Gahz'rilla's room by heading left when you can. His room has a large pool with a gong at one end. Before you summon him, take time to clear out some of the mobs in the room, particularly the patrols. There are single patrols as well as multiples, including at least one trio of two hunters and basilisk. Take special note of the mobs in the corners, as they can be hard to spot. You don't have to get rid of them if you don't need/want them, but you need to be aware that they are there. Also watch for patrols that come from the adjoining hallways. You likely took out the patrols from one of the hallways on your way in, but the narrow hall on the east side of the room has one or two mobs that patrol into the big room. Their patrol route is long, so you might not see them unless you know to wait for them.

Hydromancer Velratha is also in this room, and is worth taking down even if you don't have the Tiara From The Deep quest. She is a bit tougher than the usual mobs and would be a nasty add if you don't take care of her before you summon Gahz'rilla.

If you don't want to clear the entire room, you need to take out Velratha and all patrols, then clear the static mobs closest to the pool. Depending on how long you take, watch the hallways for the patrols to respawn. They often come right up to the pool, and that will almost surely make for a wipe.

Once you are ready, have a party member with the enchanted mallet use the gong while everyone else stands away from the pool. The gong ringer in your party should also beat a hasty retreat as soon as they finish with the gong. Gahz'rilla will exit the pool to the north, where the steps are. He will pretty much hang around this area unless you attack him or get too close. Once he's at the stairs, jump in the gong end of the pool and pull him to you.

Gahz'rilla is a level 46 elite, but that level is deceptive. 46 is only a level or two higher than the general mobs in the rest of the instance, but he is much more difficult than that. He has a frostbolt spell, a lot of health and a very nasty pop-up attack. His pop-up attack launches you high into the air, which means a lot of damage from the fall. This attack is not targetted and hits everyone who is close enough. Mages and priests (who are way too close if they get hit by this attack...) can use Slow Fall/Levitate to avoid damage, but everyone else will have to take their knocks. If you are fighting in the pool, you will hopefully land in the water, taking no damage. If you fall on land, you will lose around 20%-25% of your max health (not current health). Have a potion ready just in case, then jump back in the pool and move towards the middle. If you can avoid the pop-up attack, you'll find that he is not too tough to take down.

For those of you who missed this quest at first, or earlier scoffed at the Carrot on a Stick reward, and are doing this at higher levels, you won't need a full five man group to do this. My 55 shaman and a 51 shaman paired up and we were able to go from the start of ZF to beating Gahz'rilla with no problems.

Jintha'Alor is a very boring and bland area and it is pretty hard to find a group willing to escort you to the top to get your mallet enchanted. You can naked corpse run (or feign death/vanish) your way up there and if timed correctly (the Priestess enters the cave every now and then), you can approach the altar and charge your mallet without waking the guy sleeping there, then hearth out.

In my group we can never get hammer. I never even seen Gahzrilla before. My guild needs to get the hammer before i die /cry i want the carrot for my horse!

We went into ZF just yesterday only to get Gah'Zrilla. Since we were a nice group with tank, palladin and 3 hunters it was very easy to fight her. Also, when you complete the quest, you will also be rewarded with nice 7100XP if you complete it fast enough (lvl46-50).

Easy way to battle Gah'Zrilla:

Step 1: If you're entering his area via the narrow pass, clear the mobs in front of the pass or patrolling in front of it. NO need to clear the mobs adjacent to the path.
Step2: Make sure to kill the named troll priestess that paths around the pool. She fears people so get her as far in to the pass as possible before dps'ing her.
Step 3: The tank has to go straigh to the edge of the pool and pull the mobs near the gong to him and run back to the group waiting for him at the entrance of the pass..Clear that group.
Step 4: Whoever has the mallet, go stright to the edge of the pool and then turn left to the gong (This is to not aggro the other mobs) and hit the gong and run back the same way to the group.
Step 5: The tank goes straigh to the pool and pulls Gah'Zrilla to him and when the boss is closing in on him, he runs back to the group.
Step 6: Tank the boss in such a way that only his head is inside the pass but the rest of his body is outside. This way only the tank will get punted. If and when the tank gets punted, he will land on top of the arch above the entrance and can jump down on the boss. To reduce damage, when the tank gets punted, shift to berserker stance and intercept him and switch to def stance.
Step 7: Kill him.

This way, you don't have to clear the entire room, just enough to summon the boss.

Wowhead says this quest is available to both Alliance and Horde, but it is listed as step two in a series where step one is available only to Alliance. Can anyone provide clarification on this? Is there a different pre-requisite for Horde before getting this quest?

I guess its worth mentioning. I think this quest used to have a lower than 40 prereq, now it requires level 40, so don't be fooled thinking they (meaning blizz patch 2.3) screwed it up or something

On this date, a group of a 45 Mage (myself), a 45 Rogue, a 44 Warrior and a 52 Shaman managed to get through here. Three of us had the mallet and all four of us had the quest. However, when Gah`zrilla died only the group leader (45 Rogue) got the scale. Is this some sort of new glitch from the patch? One would think something like this would be a group loot........Not that I mind killing the guy four times, he drops some pretty good loot.

Done this with a Rogue and a Hunter.

The problem with ZF is that everybody wants to save Gahzrilla for last. Not necessary...

You can go left when you can...clear out his room completely cause he will send you flying....

The room where the dudes are crouched around the fountain can be avoided cutting that corner actually going behind the wall....then the room right before Gahzrilla does not have to be cleared (this coming from the left turn not all the way around). Just go around the tent on the right and fight the two there...Then clear his room....5 different groups....

They run, so make sure you either take them down really fast, slow them, or keep them in place.

When you gong Gahzrilla, he comes out at the opposite end of the pool. Someone who can hold aggro on him, while someone belts away from ranged is a great strategy....he does send everybody flying...so keep your health up and be ready for 90-100 damage fall....

For some reason, my level 44 Draenei shaman got 'not eligible' when my party members tried to share this one.

After the instance I went to where you get this and discovered the reason I could not get the share was that I had the previous step in my log. I just kept missing noticing that during the run...

So, if you can't get the quest, look to see if you have the step before it in your log. :)

This is a good trinket to have.

30 Mount + Carrot on a Stick + Mithril Spurs = 160% + bonus = 171% Mount Speed

Didnt take in consideration the Gloves Enchant. Its not that easy to get.

As of patch 3.0.8, you no longer require the Mallet to hit the gong to summon Gahz'rilla. You can just walk up and use the gong.

Solod as a 49 ench shamy.
All you need to do is tank him in the middle of the water with water orbs up not to go oom, i had down mana spring and strength of earth. Grounding totem the frozen solids. Make sure to heal to full before going below 50% cause if he knocks you back and your in the air he might decide to hit you hard. Took about 3 minutes and a couple of trys but it's doable.

The specifics on how to obtain and charge the hammer to summon the beast can be found in zul'farak on an "Ancient Tablet" which is a random drop off mobs there (probably somewhere around 1-2% drop rate).

The hammer is found on a troll the top of the altar of Zul in the Hinterlands.

The hammer has to be charged at an altar deep inside Jintha'Alor, which is another troll encampment, also in the Hinterlands.

Personally, I think obtaining the hammer to summon gahz'rilla is more difficult than actually slaying him. YMMV. Good luck.

Made the mallet last night with the help of a Nightelf Druid and couple cool Hordies. To make things a little easier at Jintha'Arol, stay on your mount all the way to the temple. Just keep riding and don't stop for anything. Only took me one shot to get up there by doint this.

Ended up killing 2 elite wolves, an elite guard, and elite caster. The caster heals herself quickly and frequently, so make sure to save whatever stun move you have for your class (if u have 1).

Hope this helps somebody.

I stealthed to the top as a 47 rogue. Waited til the named walked away and there were only a wolf and one of the elite trolls nearby. I sapped the troll and blinded the wolf and did it. Then ran like hell.

Since there is some confusion on how to obtain the mallet.

Well first of all you obviously get the quest from the guy in the Shimmering Flats (Thousand Needles), Wizzle Brassbolts at 77,77.

Then you go to the Hinterlands. At the altar of Zul at 48,68, on top of that (small) altar there is a woman called Qiaga. When you try to kill her the other mobs agro you, but I was able to solo it all with a lvl 60 lock.
She drops the uncharged mallet.

Then you go to the east. When you arrive at Jintha'Alor don't bother killing any of the mobs there. Just stay on your mount and follow the path and the stairs until you get close to 57,78.
There you will see a (very) small altar guarded by a few elites, a few wolves and a priestess. Also there is some horde guy lying on his back.
The only thing you need to do is stand on that altar and right click the mallet in your inventory to charge it. You can choose to kill the mobs but you don't have to.

Then you scroll up and look for the first yellow post for further instructions :)

Slaying the hydra is a piece of cake compared to getting the mallet and getting it charged.

I did it with a good group and it took us a long time.

Make sure you get all the other quests you can do on the way to obtaining the mallet. While getting the mallet you should be able to complete the following:

Job opening: Guard captain of revantusk village
Recover the key!

and

Wanted: Vile priestess hexx and her minions.

Otherwise you'll have to back and do it all again.

These are all elite quests (the ones with a plus sign).

Blizz has changed the mobs in order to get the mallet. I have seen people say that this is very easy and they are 50ish. This is far from true. The mobs to get the mallet have been changed from 50ish to 2 lvl 50 elites. You will probably need some backup just to get the mallet.

Just want to add that I wasted a lot of time and armor trying to convert the hammer, only to discover that I had already done it. There is no gear, or time bar, you just right click the hammer in your inventory when you are close or on the alter. With all the agro going on around me and death, I didn't notice the name had changed on the hammer. Bit of an anti-climax after all the effort to get there, picture doesn't change either, so if you get there like I did, and wonder why nothing is happening, it probably already has.

We did the mount up and run through, but beware, easy to make a few wrong turns and end up in a dead end with a whole mob chasing you. Still by the time we make the top, they did all turn around and go away. Following the paved road works well till the second to top level, where it splits leading to a couple of deadends.. go right and up the next set of steps.

Once at the top, go left, and take the left path, again dead ends otherwise. You will then come to the arena with the alter in the middle with some homeless guy sleeping on it. So then we only had the wolves and guards to tackle... I say only.. they were a pain in the butt.. those wolves just like to chew on your bones for a long painful slow death. We were lvl 47 priest and rogue.. ok the rogue could have probably done it without me holding him back, but he was kind enough to hang around and help. Try and remember to reset your Hearthstone before you go up, or you will end back in Tanaris like I did, but then again now I'm ready to do Gahz'rilla.

Jintha'Alor isnt an instance, so you can use the "run for it method" to charge the mallet. Then you can go to ZF and use the Mallet to summon Gahz'rilla.

At the top of Zul you will find lvl 50 and 51 elite casters. Kill Qiaga the Keeper she holds the hammer. You cant solo this anymore. Each person in group can loot. look for possible chest behind the elites, i got that without getting noticed.

To get to altar go up first set of stairs in Jin and turn left, keep following the path to next set of stairs and go up until you are at top. There are spots you can stop and drop aggro if you are doing a mounted run (so watch for them). Once you get to top do a hard left and follow path to altar.

At the altar there are also level 50 and 51 elites that DO NOT roam, so don't bother waiting. Watch for roaming 50 elite wolves around the altar. Lots of different strategies on how to finally use the hammer on the altar, so you pick how you want to do it (kill or distract).

I have no idea why this was not made a quest in itself, very hard if you do it properly and should be done in group.

Keep in mind you will come back here to get ancient egg inside cave behind altar from quest found in ZF.

This is quite a hike to the top and full of mobs everywhere! I was lucky and stealthed all the way to the top, just follow the STONE PATH THIS WILL HELP YOU FIND YOUR WAY. Once at the top, turn left and walk until you see the guy lying on the altar as already mentioned.

Careful of elite wolves, you may want to clear one or two at this stage its up to you. There is also an 50 elite standing by the altar who doesn't move and also one to the right by the tree. I took the wolf to the left and then the elite beside the altar once the priestess was back in her cave. These guys hit you with their sheild and stun you for a few seconds so best to pull them singularly if solo'ing like me.

Watch for the priestess to return and dont be like me and not see her until it was too late. She's pretty tough for a lvl 51 Druid although I wasn't 100% health at the time. She heals herself when she gets down to 50% and 25% so make sure you use some sort of stun to interupt it. She also uses a bit of shadow magic and can turn you into an amphibian which is no problem for me because I can shapeshift out of it. It is best just to avoid her altogether and apply your hammer onto the altar when it is safe. (and Im not talking about your manhood here)

Make sure you leave the guy sleeping on the altar, you dont have to wake him up if you dont want to. If you do he's not that hard to kill, takes a while but he doesn't have a weapon and tries to punch you to death! Poor fella.

Anyone else notice that the screenshot was Photoshop'ed? If the person taking it had been 53 at the time, then Gahz'rilla's lvl (46) would have been shown in green numbers. Instead, it's yellow. Why do people do that? There is no shame in being 44.

It is not necessary to do the hammer quest yourself. You must have someone in your party that has the hammer on them to be able to summon Ghaz.

There is no prerequisite to obtaining the hammer. While the Ancient Tablet will tell how to go about starting and doing the quest, that item is not necessary either.

You can obtain the mallet you need by heading to 48.68 in the Alter of Zul, Hinterlands. There you will find Qiaga (50 or so elite, you’ll want some help). Kill that mob and the mallet drops.

From there you need to head east to 57.78 in Jintha’Alor, also in the Hinterlands. This is a hard trip to make, if you are a lower level and don’t have a group. The nice part to this, is you can chain res to the top. Just make sure you get naked on your way in, and always die close to a wall that is on a higher level. That way you can rez going straight up the tower without a lot of wasted deaths or time. Once you get to that point, rez and right click the alter and the hammer is instantly transformed. You will die again, but there is no quest to accept or channeling time. You can then spirit res.

At this point you can go to Ironforge and get the quest in Tinker Town which sends you to the Shimmering Flats or you can just head there and get it there. Head to the mirage raceway to obtain the quest.

By this time your rez sickness will have worn off, and you are ready to hit Zul’Farrak.

To get to the place to summon Ghaz, after you enter ZF take a left each time you can until you see a large pool of water. Clear around that pool to make some room. The person who has the mallet then hits the gong with it. Ghaz spawns in the pool and walks out of it up the steps.

Ghaz will use an ability that will knock your party into the air, where you will suffer falling damage, amongst other attacks/skills. To nullify this, have your ranged dps and healer in the pool of water for the duration of the fight. When you get knocked into the air, you will land back in the water and the whole party will not have suffered damage, just the melee classes, lessening the burden on your healer. The required quest item is an “all loot”, so everyone on the quest will complete it when he dies.

All those who say that this is a waste and the crop is better… well… are missing the point. You cannot wear the crop until 69, so having this, the glove enchant, and spurs will help you until then. Faster mounted speed is less down time traveling and questing and therefore is faster leveling.

If you don’t like switching out your gear, download Itemrack or one of its equivalents as an add-on. Most of the equipment mod have a build in allowance for setting gear for events (like auto-equipping gloves with a herbalism when you pick flowers; slapping on boots, gloves and the carrot when you mount) and de-equipping the items after the event is over.

The crop will replace all these items when you get up ther in levels, but the enchant, spurs and carrot will get you there faster.

If you're like me and didn't get around to doing this until L61, here's a tip: clear some of the other elites as has been stated before and then summon him. *Stay in the pool* and battle him on the steps so when he does blast you 200 yards in the air you fall right back into the pool and NOT the awaiting arms and swords of the other ZF trolls. He takes a little while to beat down, but it's pretty damn easy (at this level).

Lvl 46 Druid with a lvl 49 Hunter.
The mallet wasn't to difficult to get... it was charging it that was a bit of a challenge lol. It's REALLY deep inside Jintha'Alor. Where there's 2 temples across from each other on your path, go to the one on the left... and if you run into slimes, that isn't the right place.
The altar where you charge the mallet is in the middle of the room and it has a horde bloke lying on it.... bunch of 50s all around the room, clear them first. Then the horde's gonna go after you if you wait too long after charging it.
When you've got it, hearthstone your ass outta there lol.

I got the mallet earlier today, with myself ( 48 hunter ) and a 47 priest friend. Charging up the stairs at the Alter of Zul we killed everything in one pull, about 4 lvl 49-50ish Non elites. This wasnt hard at all, we then moved over to Jintha'alar to charge the mallet. Luckily we managed to arrive just as a 70 had helped his friend charge his, so didnt have to clear our way up, saving alot of time. Although the majority of mobs were lvl 50.

This part of the quest isnt difficult, its just a time waster killing all the mobs, i strongly suggest aquiring more quests to complete while your up there.

She is quite easy to kill!

Important thing is stay at the steps in pool when you fighting with Gahz'rilla! She is knocking you in the air and doing big dmg when you falling down so stay at the steps in pool then water save you.
After every kick come back on steps and over and over again;)
If you dont want kill all trolls in area just kill only thease near pool especially two of them going between pool and hills. You can get aggro from them when you standing on steps.

She doesn't run around and doesn't call help so...

The "additional notes" above really explain what you need to know, except that Qiaga the Keeper is at the top of the Alter of Zul. While looting in Zul'Farrak, you will come across an "ancient tablet". Although this item is grey it contains the following important imformation:

"To creat the mallet of Zul'Farrak, one must first travel to the Alter of Zul and obtain the sacred mallet from a troll keeper.

Next, one must bring the sacred mallet to the altar atop of the Jintha'alor.

Using the sacred mallet at the altar will infuse it with power, and transform it into the mallet of Zul'Farrak."

If you have been doing quests in the Hinterlands already, you may have the quest "The Alter of Zul" and from Zul'Farrak the quest "The Ancient Egg" (both are follow up quests), this would be the perfect time to kill two (or three) birds with one stone as creating the mallet requires you to go to both places in the Hinterlands.

Thanks to the guide here (well done DaiXing!) I got to the amphitheater and knocked off the guards one by one. I used Charge on the ones that were around the edges, and got the attention of the central guards by means of shooting them with my gun. (On Azeroth as on Earth, one of the best ways to get someone's attention is to pop a cap in their ass.)

Hexx herself weas somewhat challenging; I still hate that Power Word: Pain. But she dropped, I converted the hammer, and killed the Elder just because I could. So what if I got flagged PvP? I had a long gryphon ride ahead of me.

The cave that's on the same level as the amphitheater has a couple nice things in it: a Small Thorium Vein for the Miners and a Ghost Mushroom for the Herbalists. It also has a friendly beast in a cage. What that's all about, I dunno, but halfway to Zul'Farrak I realized I should have looked it up here before leaving the temple. :P

We had trouble defeating Vile Priestess Hexx, as she keeps healing herself. As I am a lock, I just repeatedly drained mana from her while the rest of the group whacked her, and she dropped real quick once her mana ran out.

as of 4/09/2006 there is no 52 (elite or non-elite) on top of Altar of Zul. There are 2 level 50 named elite troll chicks there. Both casters. As mage 54 I killed both. I sheeped 1 of them and it wasn't too hard after that. Had to use evocation between kills though. I had to pull 1 guard before nameds. 2 other guards stand pretty far and don't seem to care. Only 1 of named trolls dropped mallet for me. May be it's because I was solo.

1. To obtain the quest for Gahz’rilla go to Thousand Needles (The Shimmering Flats) and speak to Wizzle Brassbolts at co-ords 78,77 (beside the race track). It will be best to do this though once you have completed steps 2 and 3. (to save travelling)

2. You will then need the Mallet of Zul’Farrak. At least one person from your group needs the mallet. If you, OR a group member does not have this item you will not be able to complete the quest. To obtain this you need to travel to The Hinterlands and go to the Altar of Zul at 49,68. Climb the top of the stairs (defeating any Lvl 48’ish) mobs in your way and kill ‘Qiaga the Keeper’ (Lvl 51 elite) who will drop ‘Sacred Mallet’ (note: This is not a quest in itself and can be done at any time)

3. Staying in Hinterlands, travel around the corner to Jintha’alor (entrance at 66,66) This is a big city and is quite a climb. You will need to go as high as you can, climbing any steps you come to, defeating any lvl 48’ish mobs in your way. Once at the top, hang a left and make your way to an Ampitheatre (59,77). There you will see a Stone altar in the middle of the theatre with a guy lying on it. Ignore him, he doesn’t attack you but be aware of the Lvl 51 Elite wolves around the theatre and paying special care not to bump in to ‘Vile Priestess Hexx’ (Lvl 52 Elite) who walks in and out of the cave behind the theatre and can be quite nasty. When she walks away climb on top of the altar and activate your ‘Sacred Mallet’ which then turns into ‘Mallet of Zul’Farrak’… which you can keep for all eternity.

4. You can now obtain the quest following step 1 if you have not already done so.

5. Go to Zul’Farrak in Tanaris, (39,19),follow the path (defeating any lvl 46-48 elite mobs in your way) and turn left at the first intersection. Follow the path again (defeating mobs) and you’ll eventually come to an area with a swimming-pool in the middle. Clear out any mobs if you can. You’ll see a big gong at the end of the swimming pool. Ensuring the ‘Mallet of Zul’Farrak’ is in your bag activate the gong and you will summon Gahz’rilla. She pops out of the swimming pool (lvl 46 Elite). Once you have slain Gahz’rilla pick up the ‘Electrifed Scale’ she drops and take this back to Wizzle Brassbolts where, upon completion of the quest, he will give you the trinket ‘Carrot on a stick’….which boosts your mount speed by 3%……which is barely noticable…. in my opinion.

Correct, the level 52 Troll is not an elite, but a normal enemy. Seems just as tough as an elite though. At 58, I received slightly over 2,000 exp off her. (That's with rested EXP.) Not bad. The magic they use is the rough part, my pet was taking significant damage.

Also, a side note to the Elite troll city you have to take the mallet to, to convert it. You will reach the top and a path will go left and right. (On right hand side in back, along wall, you'll see a cave with two 50 Elite guards.) Take a left on this path. The other is a dead end. Follow that path into the next room.

Be careful of the elite Wolves in there. In the middle is Hexx and her bodyguard. I just sent my pet in to tank them both, and quickly converted it. (It only takes a second or two at most to convert it, fortunately it's very quick.) Sacrificed my pet to do it, but made it out alive. Was a bit challenging even at 58. Just had to take it slow going through.

I went, got the mallet, tried hittign the gong, no luck.

I heard that you ahve to kill the witch doctor in the room full of graves before you can summon him. is this true?

As of patch 2.3 the trolls on Jintha'Alor arent elite. They seem rather easy now, even easier than your normal level 47-50 trolls. Even High Priestess HExx is level 51 normalSame goes for the 2 level 50 keepers at the Altar of Zul, they are easy as cream pie.

If you character can take down 2 level 50s, you can solo the mallet questline yourself. Only the trolls in Zul'Farrak is still elite! And the big lizzie too, of course.

Note on the the hint to pick up the Mallet of Zul'Farrak in the Hinterlands--they are 47-51 ELITES, not regulars. That wasn't clear in fatoomch's otherwise spot-on Gahz'rilla guide.

ya once yo get to the top and are at a point when you can attack the princess, if you have a hunter or some sorta distration in your group. you can just distract both npcs on the later, do your thing with the mallet and get outta there.

After equiping the carrot you get a total of 164.8% run speed, not 163%. How? Well simple math. The carrot increase the mount speed after added to yours. So your original speed is 1.0, with mount is 1.6; 3% of 1.6 is .048. added to gether you 1.648. This explains why feral geared druids can run faster than regular mounts after proper gear is added. So yes this is worth it, considering the large boost in speed you get. The amount is very much noticeable.

I posted this under the carrot reward but here it is again -- Blizzard stated that the 3% is "air mounts only" so it gives a 3% speed increase if you are riding on griffs but not on your mount so it's a pretty trash item for such a hard bit of work.

As per Cosmos Travel speed is increased to 171% with Carrot or Spurs but they do not stack. So use the spurs or the carot for the incease in speed.

The two trolls to kill for the mallet have been changed at the time of this writing to two level 50 elites. A 50 hunter and 48 priest killed them using MC on one.

I had forgotten to get it and I needed to get the ST quest where you read the tablet so we decided to make a little side trip.

58 Hunter (me) and my 58 rogue went into ZF and kill Gahz'rilla. We just mounted up and ran to the lake, he vanished I feigned death. Then we killed a few mobs around the pool and killed gaz. Very quick.

Easy summary for people playing Classic!

There are 4 tiers of speed enhancements. These tiers DO NOT STACK WITH EACH OTHER, so if you have a better tier, you cannot get any of the bonuses from any of the lower tiers.

Tier A: Paladin's Crusader Aura (+20% mounted speed), given at level 62 in TBC.
Tier B: Paladin's , Talent 3/3 (+15% mounted speed AND on-foot runspeed), requires 13 points in the Retribution talents. NOTE: Before TBC, in vanilla, it was only +8% speed and required 12 points.
Tier C1: Trinket Pattern: Riding Crop (+10%), created by leatherworkers. Despite what you may think, it DOESN'T stack with ANY other items/enchants (from the lower tiers).
Tier C2 ("Free" Alternative): Trinket Skybreaker Whip (+10%, Quest Reward), gained by learning Epic Flying at level 70, becoming Honored with the Netherwing, and defeating all of their races in the sky and defeating the final quest, Dragonmaw Race: Captain Skyshatter (something a lot of players give up on due to the difficulty of beating the racers).
Tier D: The "vanilla WoW solution": Carrot on a Stick (+3%, Quest Reward) and Formula: Enchant Gloves - Riding Skill (+2%) and Plans: Mithril Spurs (+4%) = Around 9%, but not exactly due to how multipliers stack, but it's less than 10%.
