The "Boon" is the ones with two rocks circling them so any that dont have that.

You can put the stone at few yards of the npc without aggros mobs around. Don't works if you mount before the stone falls.

When motivated the Defender's will somethimes yell "This Is Stonehearth!"
Just thought i'd say that.

I keep trying to do this quest but all the npc's have already been "booned". Either so many people are doing this quest at once and there's a slow reset time or there is something I'm not getting. I even tried abandoning the quest and trying again:(

1) Use the boon on Stonehearth Defenders and not on Earthen Geomancers

2) Make sure the buff isn't already active (maybe from another player doing the same quest) on the NPC

3) Stay facing the NPC until the spell is complete and you get progress, i.e., don't mount or turn away and run, you must face the NPC during the spell.

I found this useful while doing the quest 'We're Surrounded" - Approach a Stonehearth Defender while he is fighting a Stone trogg Ambusher (or two). Attack the Stone Trogg Ambusher and while fighting, click on your Stonefather's Banner. It will do it's thing while you are working on the Stone Trogg Ambusher. Worked every time and thus killed two birds with one stone.. :)

The challenge here was simply finding the Defenders. There's an inner ring of four Geomancers which is obvious when you take the quest.

But go just outside that inner ring and you'll find the Defenders. The Defenders hold aggro on the Saboteurs pretty well, so it's not difficult to gradually take them down and pick up "We're Surrounded" while you're at it (especially if you're a low-dps healer like me).

If you're confused as to where the defenders are (as I was):

The DEFENDERS you're buffing are BEHIND the quest giver over a bit of a hill; there's another quest in the same area: We're Surrounded

I know I had turned (since there were Earthen fighting behind me, and that's where the quest giver was facing) and run that way, only to find nothing of use... there are defenders, but they are outside of the area you can use the "boon" in.

Use the boon on the Defenders that don't have the two rocks cricling them. They are mroe on the outside of the battlefield, so no, it won't work on the Geomancers.

this area is annoying to quest in

i've got stuck in combat on 100% of the quests in this area and had to run back to the quest givers to escape combat

Description

With the Stonefather taken prisoner, our forces are demoralized. Normally any one of mine could take five times his number of stone troggs. But now....

I want you to head out into the field surrounding the town. Plant Stonefather Oremantle's banner near my defenders. Grant them his boon and remind them of that for which they fight.
