Appears to be a periodic spawn, at least on Catherine Leland in Stormwind. Haven't confirmed same on any other vendors yet.

Since this is one of the few items in game that is available from vendors in a limited quantity (and at a great price I might add), it is worth knowing that you can SOMETIMES buy more than the vendor shows in stock by clicking to purchase the items as quickly and furiuosly as possible. With the usual limit of 2 attractors per vendor, you can usually get between 2 and 5 attractors. You still end up paying for each attractor that you buy, but you just are able to somewhat bypass the limitation of avaiable items. (Note: this obviously doesn't work if there are no items available; and works even better with other items that have a higher available number from the vendor, like Coarse Blasting Powder)

Instead of camping vendors, you can get a lowlevel+ engineering friend to make these for you. Bronze and coarse stone aren't that expensive and the Nightcrawlers are unlimited from vendors.

For something so essential to high level fishing, these are laughably easy to get made in meaningful quantities by any low level engineer. I used my mining skill to farm up loads of the mats and had a gnomish engineering friend of mine make me a huge batch.

I find I can make a small, steady profit each day by buying 40 bronze bars and 20 coarse stone off the AH, then a stack of nightcrawlers from any of the myriad vendors. 1g to make 3 attractors, resold for 60s each?

Nothing huge but it adds up over time, especially as part of a regular crafting rotation.

For Horde, the only 3 places to buy these in Outlands are:
Juno Dufrain in Cenarion Refuge (facing the west lake)
Zurjaya in Zebra'jin (at the bonfire facing North)
Threlc in Thunderlord Stronghold (a bit north from the bonfire)

these are good for selling at the AH actually they are cheap to make and occasionally a stack goes for 3g on my server and usually is bought out rather quickly,i suppose higher lvls just get bored of traveling to get them..

The lures seem to respawn on the vendors every ~30 minutes. Sometimes they do, other times they don't. If I use 3 lures and check the vendor, there always seem to be fresh stock in. Other's mileage may vary.

Nothing speeds up or slows down leveling fishing (assuming no getaways). There is a set number of fish per skill point, regardless of where you do this. The lures are nice if you wish to get higher level fish (usually more profitable ones), but this in now way would slow you.

I think it was the last patch, but you will no longer get that annoying "your fish got away" message.. you now "catch" grey junk if your skill level is low, so each cast counts toward your skillups... YAY!

One of my four sources of income (I have no level 60+)
1: Farm linen and wool on a DK in VC (easily as a level 58 full blood, good luck without it.)
2: Sell silver (ore, sells for about three times as much) that I happen to find.
3: I'm a Gninja, (an In-Character mercenary on an RP server) people hire me all the time.
4: I go to BB every Sunday and sell these for about 1 gold each, they cost me about two silver each to make.

Does faction rep have anything to do with the supply of this? I haven't been able to really determine this as of yet. I've visited all the Alliance freindlies so far, and most had supplies for me, even though my rep ranges from neutral to exaulted. While some had none, most have had the allotted supply of either two or one. While visiting Kalimdor suppliers, both Rachet vendors had some, but Darnassus and Tedrassil had none, nor did Diktynna at Azuremyst. Going to finish the entire world and see who has what. I'll edit or repost later after visiting Outland and Northrend.

This is almost a required item for fishing there. 425 fishing skill using it and my pole and I STILL lose fish, just not many.

Many of these places do not have 2 LSupply anymore. The majors places will, but also people buy these more often.

When did this change to a 10 minute buff? I went fishing today and saw that it was now a 10 minute buff instead of 5. About time, but messed up the timing I had for the one mob that spawns on the island in Skettis---it spawns every 5 minutes--kill it--reapply fish attractor and when it's gone--time to kill that guy again.

They sell for a decent price, too. A few people will buy them at the AH, but you can usualy go to a fishing location, then hawk them there. Depends where you go, sometimes you only get 5s, but in some places, I've reached upwards of 25s.
