It took me a while to figure this out, but once you have finished both parts of the What Is Going On quest, you go to Thrall in the Valley of Wisdom in Orgrimmar. He will give you The Royal Rescue quest..

Kharan Mighthammer is in the other cell right after you've spoken to Commander Gor'shak!

Be sure to warn your party before anyone talks to him. It should pretty much only be the tank that talks to him, as three or four elites rush in and maul whoever is closest to the door.

This is the next step in the prisoner escort. Wish I had known that when I finished the damn escort. The cell is across and to the right of the cell door you find the orc in if you are inside the cell looking out.

So far, my communication with the dwarf, Kharan, in the cell across the hall, has been limited. I have, however, managed to convince him that I, rather -we- mean him no harm.

Go speak with him and gather as much information about the Princess and her captors as possible. Take that information back to the Warchief.

Thrall does not want the Princess harmed, but instead, has some grand plan laid out, which includes her being safely returned to Ironforge. Kharan already knows all of this... Go!
