This quest, along with The Edge Of Winter, and A Worthy Weapon, is one of three weapon-fetching dailies available to Argent Tournament Aspirants and Valiants. Each faction has its own version, though they're identical aside from the specific quest NPC. This particular quest is for Alliance Aspirants. You'll find the Horde equivalent for Aspirants here.

Not sure why but this quest isn't showing up from Vaelis, though Worthy Weapon and Edge of Winter did.

This quest is the epitome of random chance. There is a rather low chance to get the maiden from an individual frog, meaning getting unlucky can mean a rather long time hanging out here. I found that the following macro helped complete this quest immensely:

/tar Lake Frog
/use Warts-B-Gone Lip Balm
/kiss

You can usually spam this macro and pick up several frogs. There may be some problems with targeting frogs that you've already kissed who are following you, if this annoys you too much remove /tar and just manually target.

As a side note, I have horrible luck. One day, I had to kiss 184 frogs to get my maiden. It also happened to be yesterday's daily, so no one else was there who I could borrow off of.

I just cant put into words how much I hate quests that refer to locations that are not shown on the maps.

You squit and look and look for what they are referring to... and end up giving up and coming here.

I'd like to point out that there's unique music playing on the shore of the lake.... just grab a fishing pole and listen for a while :)

It might not be there when the event's gone.

I could bet my rotten hide that it's a reference to something... I just don't know what.

omg I went through 93 frogs before she appeared. Not to mention having to fly all the way across the continent and back to complete it. Stupidest daily I've ever done by far. Who has this kind of time to waste? Go ahead and downgrade this, but it's true.

This is definitely a reference to the Disney movie Sword in the Stone, or the story of Arthur in general I would think. Considering they called the boy Wart, and he had to go find a sword because he forgot the sword when they went to the jousting tournament.

I tried the macro, was out there kissing frogs for 20 minutes, another player shows up, kisses one, and guess who appears? I have little luck in this game compared to others, lol.

About the second time around the lake for me with a batch of frogs following with pink hearts over their heads, I got this feeling that the other cadets back at the tournament grounds were laughing their asses off.

I did something really weird, i kissed all the frogs and still nothing so i was in the middle of 5 frogs i said its useless keep them alive since they are not the frogs i am looking for so i just used fan of knives and killed them all, the weird thing one of them dropped the quest item i was looking for.....

About (61, 48) in Grizzly Hills after kissing many frogs I was able to get this Quest Completed.

click new
name it kiss and choose any icon
in the macro text box type:

drag the icon(next to the change name/icon button) to your action bars

Descrizione

Some of the champions believe an ancient weapon born of Northrend will bring them luck in the tourney. I have agreed to help them search for these weapons.

There's an old legend from Grizzly Hills about a maiden cursed with a frog's form to protect the blade she has long guarded. She lives among the lake frogs on the shore of Ashwood Lake, just east of Ashwood Post. The only thing said to break the curse is a kiss, freely given. Apply this balm before kissing anything, <name>. Otherwise, you'll catch warts.
