I had one of these drop off of an Unbound Emberfiend in Twilight Highlands.

I managed to sell it for 15K gold, though there was a bit of bartering involved in selling it at that price. I had posted it on AH for 20K, but it wasn't moving and ended up selling it to a player who whispered me about it. For those interested in buying it for their character, you could probably get it for 10K or less if you're good at negotiating at price.

This ia a realy good neck for ferals, id highly recommend it, even tho it might be alittle bit expensive, bought mine today,
with auctioner, iv so far seen 44 average price 23~k, i was kind of luck i belive found this for 16k of some "noob" selling it in the trade.

as for^ people selling it for less then 10k.. wow must be a realy lowpopulated server.

I've dropped this one on the trash before the last boss of Blackrock Caverns. I was with a really bad group (tank bad-specced and holy paladin who didn't want to use BoK because Might give mana regen, no druid in the group of course), so we had to skip the last two boss before Ascendant.

So basically, we had to pull and kill the adds who are normally killed by our angry orc, and BAM ! This little devil dropped.

17K on my server :)

Dropped for me tonight in Twilight Highlands off of a mob in The Black Breach. The mob was a "Shaman of the Black" at coords 57, 28. Dropped on my hunter, but I am going to send to my Druid. I will probably keep this item since I am Feral, though selling for that much is tempting! Good luck on the drops.

Consider the fact that you can get Acorn of the Daughter Tree from The Guardians of Hyjal upon leaving Mount Hyjal and, at the time of writing this, you can get Sweet Perfume Broach through spamming the Royal Crown queue. While not as good, you save yourself a huge chunk of coin for 13 ilvls of stats and if you're in a good raiding guild, you'll potentially have access to Necklace of Strife which is BiS prior to heroics for some classes.

It makes me wonder if dumping anything north of 10 - 15k is worth it simply because it's purple.

Dropped for me today from mob in Tol Barad and I sold it for 15k after 30 minutes on AH.
Maybe I should try sell for 20k because im greedy ;]

Every now and then...in a very great while...you get lucky in WoW.

I was browsing through the Auction House while waiting for a Guild raid invite.

Armor > Miscellaneous > Neck, Epic filter, search. Don Rodrigo's Fabulous Necklace pops up, with a buyout price of 3K. I did a double take, clicked it to make sure that I wasn't seeing things, and bought it immediately. Reforged haste to hit, equipped, got my invite and entered Blackwing Descent very, very happy.

Not worth it for Hunters. Get the Brazen Elementium Medallion for 1/7th the cost, slap a Delicate Inferno Ruby in it, and have higher DPS. This necklace only has 2 more Agi, and is not Crit like the Medallion.

Reforging haste to dodge/parry - whichever you need more (usually dodge given the massive amounts of parry on current gear) this makes for a great tanking necklace for Protection Paladins. Especially since we don't get a good epic tanking neck until Nef.

Of course damage dealers should always take precedence, since it's tailored for them, but as chrth has said, the jewelcrafting necklace is easy to get, only has 2 agility less and better stat weights for certain classes/specs, so take that into account when arguing over who gets what.

Got it 2 days ago from Axiled Mage in Toll Barad while doing a daily on my priest. Was going to keep it for another toon, but then was the priest that found it :) so....
Sold for 10k in a couple hours on Ravencrest.

It's a terrible tanking neck under ANY circumstances. Try Buc-Zakai Choker if you want a dps neck that is good for a tank, not this agi piece. OMG.

I think you'll be downrated to oblivion pretty soon with that comment, but still, to give you a reasoning for why you're dead wrong:

First of all: 18 Mastery (which also means this edges out the necklace of strife).

Secondly, and much much more importantly: 190 Agility gives you .62% dodge (before DR), while your fabled Buc-Zakai Choker at 190 Strength gives you (at 25% of strength converted into parry rating) 47.5 parry rating, which equates to .269 parry chance (before DR and not taking into account any flooring).

So, before you start OMG'ing, you might wanna read up on class mechanics, and see that AGI necks are a very very worthwhile investment for tanks in Cata.

All in all, this is probably, far and away, the BiS neck for prot pallies prior to HMs (and has been listed as such at the sites that know what they're talking about).

EDIT: as correctly stated below, this will no longer be true as of 4.2, so if you don't have one yet, DO NOT sink your char's life savings into it.

Yes, this is pretty much BiS for prot pallies right now, but before you dump all of your gold on it watch out - according to the latest PTR notes, agility will no longer give dodge in 4.2:

Dodge: Death Knights, paladins, and warriors no longer receive any bonus to their chance to dodge from Agility. Their base chance to dodge is now a fixed 5%.

This dropped for me off a Glopgut Ogre while I was farming embersilk cloth. And I didn't sell it! I put it on and said, "Thank you very much Mr. Ogre." Amazing for an enhancement shaman just starting to get geared up.
