Going with the stat scheme for Cata, it would seem that it's not too hard to easily rack up some hit rating (as compared to the difficulty in WotLK).

Being a non-unique ring, any physical DPS class can easily rack up 4.10% hit rating from crafting two of these.

However, the only expensive requirement is Chimera's Eye which is the equivalent to Dragon's Eye in WoTLK (tl;dr - Expensive).

Regardless, great considering it's pre-raid.

On my server, volatile air is going for 45 gold per. Only 3375 gold total for the air.

Don't forget that in BC and WotLK, they had motes. 10 motes = one primal. Looks like they just move the decimal point for Cat.

But still 3375 for 7.5 primals? It looks like air will be the hard to find element for Cat.

is a cheap way to make air. And don't forget to do it in UIdum. If you do this anywhere else, it is random.

Wrapping up my JC pattern comparison with the two Agility rings. Let's look at our 346 options:

Band of Blades (JC crafted)
Elementium Destroyer's Ring (JC crafted)
Nautilus Ring (Neptulon's Cache, Throne of the Tides)
Ring of Blinding Stars (Isiset, Halls of Origination)
Ring of Dun Algaz (Forgemaster Throngus, Grim Batol)
Skullcracker Ring (Rom'ogg Bonecrusher, Blackrock Caverns)
Terrath's Signet of Balance (Revered with Therazane)

Agility Ring Showdown

The first comparison on consequence should be against the two JC rings themselves. Before socketing anything, the Destroyer has +10 Agility and +114 Mastery vs the Blades' +27 Crit and +97 Hit. While it adds up to 124 on both sides, primary stats (should) take up more item points than secondary stats, which pushes the Destroyer ahead immediately. Putting a Delicate in the Destroyer and a Adept in the Blades only further proves the discrepancy: +30 Agility and +94 Mastery and +10 Haste vs +27 Crit and +107 Hit. Would you take +30 Agility over +27 Crit? I would. Even if you needed more Hit rating, reforging another piece or two of gear can make that Hit rating up, but nothing brings back the Agility loss.

The bizarre underbugetness continues when up against the Therazane rep ring: +116 Crit vs +10 Agility and +92 Mastery and +5 Hit... even after socketed. 116 vs 107 looks fine up until you disregard the fact that 10 of those points is from a primary stat. The most pronounced comparison is between Blades and the Ring of Dun Algaz after a Deadly is socketed: +16 Crit and +9 Hit vs +10 Agility. 25 vs 10 is probably closer when it comes to item points, but that does not make the Agility deficit any more interesting. Well, other than in a mild "WTF were they thinking?" kind of way.

Bottom line is that this JC ring pattern is fairly bad. The Hit rating is nice, and you can even wear two if you felt like it, but something about it is just off in the math. You are better off getting the Destroyer's ring.

JC's have a huge advantage in the market with items like this ring. When they can sell them at nearly 5000 gold. Lucky bastards
