Anyway, as I'm still working on my prot set (warrior) I can't speak from experience, but I do know that this is BiS as far as Shield Slam is concerned.

Man this thing is wicked and since it's only useful to half the tanking community it's not so expensive. I've seen it range from 2k to 5k. Considering how solid it is (and how likely Blizzard will replace it directly this expansion) I'm voting it a worthy purchase should your pocket book hold out.

As a paly tank this is my best in slot ring as I'm aiming to maximize block/mitigation since pure avoidance has diminishing returns. Above poster is correct that this ring won't be too expensive (should be around 1300-2300g) because DKs and Druids can't utilize this ring. That being said, other BoE rings (Titanium Earthguard, Signet of the Accord, Signet of Winter) will still be popular.

As a pally tank I'd pass on this if it dropped. In Ulduar all the bosses hit very hard and diminishing returns or not I'd rather have pure avoidance. If its a matter of staying block capped (102.4%) this may come in handy or as a piece for a specific block value set, but I just don't see it having a place in a MT set along side the Leviathon Coil. Its a great threat piece for farm content, but I just can't justify using it for progression content.

In the end though, beggers can't be choosers. Sometimes you just gotta take what you can get :D

If you are tanking multiple mobs, or a fast hitting mob block value & rating is what you need. Every warrior/pally should have a block set. Plenty of ulduar fights need this. (ignis adds,xt002's pummelors, thorim's areana, razorscale, kologarns rubble etc).

yes i like this when are these people going to learn that u cant build a perfect character: i trip em out when i tank in ornate. and ice bane then switch to titan and savage enchants gems etc. wep. etc. lol just turned 80 but know what im doing. no one way to skin a cat u know. not dual speced but have 1500 spell dps and enjoy tanking like that with my self healing mace if i can hold aggro and my heals can keep up. i know how to play if now i switch my gear on the fly that simple. prot. pali we can do it all
