You can compare this faction to WotLK's Sons of Hodir. They are the providers of all the shoulder enchants in Cataclysm (except for the scribe-exclusive ones), you start out at hated, and you land at honored by doing all the non-daily quests leading into the befriending of the faction ... And they're all giants (interpret it in however way you like).

I just unlocked it, the questline that involves helping the Earthen as they move clockwise along the outer ledge of Deepholm ends with you retrieving the middle piece of the Pillar, with this you head back to the temple, and pick up a few more quests outside of the Temple on the Northwest side. Once you finish those you get Imposing Confrontations.

I don't know exactly where the Earthen chain starts, I think I just stumbled into it.

I count 58,100 Reputation in 1 off quest's.

So by the time you quest out Deepholm, you should be about 5k short of Revered.
As there are some Mobs that yield Rep when killed, a little grinding could see your results differ.

My Experience left me completely quested out, and all dailies available, with none done yet.
My rep was 6,685 / 12,000 Honored.

Okay, looks like you need to get both the upper and middle fragments from Il Frammento Centrale and https://www.wowhead.com/cata/quest=26876. The quests I did to start on the chains that lead to those are: Cannoniera abbattuta and https://www.wowhead.com/cata/quest=26409. I believe these two series are the only ones necessary though I did do a couple other quests trying to figure out which ones mattered. I will attempt to do just these two series on another character here in a week or two and post to confirm.

If you did all the quests in Deepholm involving Therazane you should look at 7 daily quests out of which only one gives 350 rep, the others awarding each 250 rep. This means you can get 1850 rep each day - I would say it's a decent amount for a few quick daily quests (took me around 15-20 min to do them all and turn them in).

I would suggest wearing the tabard 'till you get revered so you can get the first enchant and some nice gear and then switching to another faction. Therazane rep is not that hard to get and by the time you get another faction to exalted, you will get Therazane from dailies alone.

Okay, someone please help! I know I have killed the dragon that drops a pillar fragment, now is the middle fragment done before that one automatically? I wasnt particularly paying attention to which parts I finished, and now I am stuck 58 quests in... No one is giving me a new questline. I know I havent done a tripping the giants quest which someone told me I have to have done in order to beging the therazane rep. Diamant the Patient, the big quartz guy, isn't saying anything in particular, just the standard dialogue about the twilight cult. I have no idea what to do because I am fairly sure I have gotten all the piller fragments and still no questline has opened up anywhere, Ive flown all over and I am still hated by Therazane, Please, any ideas?

Has anyone tried grinding this rep with kills once you open it up? I noticed that some of the twilight cultists around the world give you five rep each. Can anyone confirm when this ends? I would assume at neutral, but am not sure. It looks to me, based on the non-daily quests that you will be at 54400 reputation after doing the chain that leads up to the dailies (assuming the faction quests on wowhead are all accessible on that journey). One needs 84999 rep to get 999 exalted with a faction. (84999-54400)=30599, 30599/5=6120, 5 rep kills. It seems easier to me to kill that many mobs than to do dailes for two-three weeks, though I have the insane title, so maybe I define easier differently.

To this point in time, the mobs I've found that give Therazane reputation with kills are (and you will only gain reputation if you completed the quest Imposing Confrontation):

Lorthuna's Gate:
-Twilight Laborer (5 Rep)
-Twilight Priestess (5 Rep)
-Twilight Duskwarden (5 Rep)

To everyone that are stuck at 58/59 quests:

Find the following NPC: Clay Pietrasecca
He's at Fractured Front. His quests, should start/continue the chain quests for Therazane rep. I haven't done all of them yet, but atm I'm already friendly with Therazane. So i think it's the thing. I just flew over map, and found him by luck.

I previously did the quest Maziel's Research which Neuber suggested some people might be missing (thanks for the tip man).

I hope that it helps you, as i know it's frustrating being stuck on something. Also thanks for all the tips in this thread, i can say that from the quest names people link here, you should be on right track from now on.

I practically skipped Deepholme whilst leveling, so I had done about 20 quests when I returned at level 85 to start on my Therazane reputation. I researched it thoroughly, and found out how to unlock it. There are 2 chains that need to be completed to the very end:

1)
Do the entire chain starting with the quest Explosive Bonding Compound. It leads you to Stonehearth, then Quaking Fields and at the end of it all, you finish the quest called The Middle Fragment.

2)
Take the entry quests to Deepholm from your capital (Horde and Alliance). You are then lead into The Maelstrom and finally Deepholm.
After a few quests, you will be told to speak to Stormcaller Mylra aboard the Alliance Gunship in the quest called Diplomacy First.

I'm not entirely sure about what happens next, so do all quests on the Alliance Gunship until you get these 2 (They may not unlock at the same time, but I think they do):
Take No Prisoners and On Second Thought, Take One Prisoner. The latter of these quests will lead you on to a chain that, in the end, takes you to The Twilight Overlook. Here you will meet Stormcaller Mylra again.

She should open up for these 2 quests:
Big Game, Big Bait and To Catch a Dragon. Continue the chain until you get The World Pillar Fragment. Once you deliver this quest to Maruut Stonebinder, he will give you The Very Earth Beneath Our Feet, which will finally make you able to see Earthmender Norsala and Earthcaller Torunscar.

When you've gotten this far, congratulations! Complete all the quests given by these two new NPC's and you should easily get started on your Therazane reputation. I hope this helps!

My personal opinion is that this faction shows several poor decisions on the dev's part.

Some points to consider:
1) This faction is the only source of shoulder chants for non-scribes. Ergo, every single toon will need those chants.
2) The chants are soulbound, rather than BoA
3) 1+2 mean that every single serious toon will need to level this rep
4) Instead of a single medium-to-long chain to unlock the rep, as with Sons of Hodir, you essentially have to clear the zone to even get access to the tabard and dailies.

5) 3+4 mean that everyone is pretty much bound to clear this zone, removing any real choice of levelling path. You've GOT to do this zone. Which kinda sucks if you're just enjoying the experience, levelled a bit too far, and skipped the zone pretty much entirely because you didn't do online research beforehand. Or if you're levelling multiple toons. You can start in hyjal, or you can start in Vash, you can finish in THL or Uldum but you'll darn well have to go to Deepholm.

The faction Therazane, named after its leader - Therazane the Stonemother - is a union of all the earth elementals living in Deepholm. It is very similar to The Sons of Hodir in Wrath of the Lich King - players will need to quest a little for Therazane in order to bring themselves to the point where they can do daily quests for her.

All players start at Hated with Therazane, and earn Honored by the time the non-daily quests are over.

If this is true, then Humans get a VERY solid head start on this faction.

So I think I figured out why some folks, me included, are having such a problem with quests in Deepholm (aka the underdark). Going through the second time, on my rogue, and I did the first several quests, up to Diplomacy First. That quest is available at the same time as Aid to Stonehearth. On my priest, I had done Diplomacy First, and then was unable to take any quests in Stonehearth or leading to Stonehearth, so I think I got phased by doing that quest. I have no solution, aside from opening a ticket, but I'm still testing this and some guildies are too on their alts. Hope this helps!

I also couldn't unlock dailies so decided to fly clockwise around perimeter from Therazane's Throne and found Therazane at 63.4, 24.9 with the quest-giving exclamation mark over his head. Oddly, I had checked this spot multiple times before, found him, but with no quest marker. Perhaps flying well away from this area and returning did the trick. Really have no clue though.

It unlocked a new short quest series, and voila: Dailies unlocked.

If you're wondering how many quests you need to start building Therazane rep ... you have 2 options. First, just do enough to get a tabard and do heroics for rep. Otherwise you can do all the Therazane quests to open up the dailies.

If you go the "dailies" route you might be tempted to try to skip the rest of Deepholm. Don't bother. You have to do 106-107 quests to open up the dailies. The small amount of time you might save by skipping 20 random non-Therazane-chain quests will be consumed by the time you take trying to figure out if that quest is required or not. Just do the zone. You'll actually get through quicker.

Some stats on how many quests needed for various levels of Therazane rep:

67 or so quests before you get your first +Therazane rep reward

74 to hit Friendly (ie, you can buy the rep tabard), less if human

84 for Honored, less if human, but you still can't do the dailies

107 quests to open up Therazane dailies (regardless of Human or not) ... at which point you'll be -almost- Revered. If you do the dailies from that day as well you'll end up right at Revered (Humans would be significantly past it). Meaning you only have to grind Exalted. Meaning if you're already 85 you might prefer to just skip the zone once you have Friendly.

It is worth noting that, because you start off hated and get a load of rep given to you to get honoured, that humans and anyone with a guild that has a 5/10% rep bonus will get a significant head start.

Personally I would no longer attempt rep grinds while guildless as a level 4 guild has 5% and a level 12 has 10% boosts, and you must get about 45kish rep before you even start dailies ^^

So I've completed the 125 quests to get the achieve and kept going to make sure I was completely done with the area . Yet theres dailies that wont open for me. I only get 5.

I think I did all quests, I just unlocked the dailies, I am 10500/12000 into Honored, 1500 points away from Revered.

Still haven't been in Stonecore for 1 or 2 quests there, so that's a pretty good start, all for a few hours questing.

Completely lost in this zone. I abandoned a slew of quests here to be able to accept all of Tol Barad dailys with guild, biggest mistake sience bloodsail admeral.

Save these quests, they are very very hard to get back on track with after they go abandoned.

EDIT- THE MISSING LINK WAS WAY UP HIGH ON THE ALLIANCE GUNSHIP, which isnt shown on the map, patting from deathwings fall, to Twilight Precipice.

I was at 85/125 and spent hours flying around at level 85 trying to find where I left off. Using Questhubber it took me 2 secs to find the quests I had missed. Saved me tons of time.

Can someone plz help ? I cant find anymore quests in deepholm. Installed questhubber and checked every area of the quest givers and none are available. I'm not sure how to check how many quests I've done but I have done alot. The last quests I was on were in the Needlerock chasm area then they just ended. I have flown the map numerous times and have waisted about 6 hours. Getting very frustrated, someone plz help ?

I gave up on shoudler enchants in cata.
Sons of Hodir shoulder enchants were BoA, and I'm not going to grind exalted with every healer I have. (3 @ 85 so far)

I can only hope Blizzard will come to their senses and make these BoA, like all the head enchants currently are.

I'm stuck at 80 quests completed and cant find a quest anywhere, when i hit 85 i abandoned whatever quests i had now i cant seem to find them as i realized the shoulder chant i needed wasnt BoA. can someone please help me and maybe tell me where i can find a quest around the 80 quest completed area?

To make finding the quests I needed to pick up easier, I did a little filtering:

Sorted by Database > Quests
-Increases reputation with... Therazene
--and then sorted by required level so I know when I can pick up each quest as I level.

Okay, I was on my hunter (Level 82 at the time) and got sent to Deepholm.

Apon arriving I soon got a quest that sent me to an NPC named Initiate Goldmine (). As soon as you get sent to him, you've started the horribly LONG quest line to open up reputation for Therazane.

Once you get the quest , you don't need to do any other quests that you might be led off to at that time, if you're going for the rep only go straight onto this quest and continue the line!
You go through a few quest chains helping the Stone Dwarves in their battle against the Stone Troggs.
You then get given the World Pillar Fragment after completing this quest chain;
Once you've handed in the Pillar Fragment, you get this quest; This leads you through a few quests where you have to kill Earth Elementals and trip over Stone Giants (Really fun..), then you get sent off to .
From there you do a few more quests (10-20, most of which are "Go talk to <Insert name here>" quests) before Therazane grants you her trust, thus opening up the Therazane reputation!

Don't forget your Tabard!

I was all out of quests and the Temple was phased.

I was stuck for a long time(about 4 hours) on 87/100 quests completed and I was getting very frustrated after flying around, killing mobs everywhere in the zone for possible quest drops and looking for "!"s on the mini-map with no luck.

I ended up just running into the right place in the zone and saw that fateful "!" on the mini-map. The quest was Ciottolo and the NPC's name is "Kor the Immovable" I think I wasn't seeing him before because of the fast mount speed; I was flying over the NPC before the game had a chance to load him on my machine.

Needless to say, I finally found him after I slowed it down a bit and let the game catch up with my mount. I hope this helps!

For further information: You need to do 69 quests (roughly) (..giggity) to get to friendly with Therazane and be able to pick up the tabard from the reputation vendor.

To start with: Ignore every quest in the temple except three.

Where's Goldmine starts the chain for the middle pillar fragment
Gunship Down and The Earth Claims All are the starts of the chain for the upper pillar fragment.

After you complete the chains opened up by these three quests and turn in the pillar fragments, you get The Very Earth Beneath Our Feet which starts the chain to unlock Therazane Reputation.

After completing A Rock Amongst Many, your reputation with Therazane is set to Friendly, and you can immediately fly up to Therazane's Throne and purchase the tabard, then get the hell out of Deepholm if you're like me and can't stand the place after your fourth or fifth time through it.

Only do the quests unlocked by doing these. Note, you don't have to do Twilight Research to get access to Therazane. Blood of the Earthwarder, Elemental Energy, (A)Fly Over/(H)Fly Over, (A)The Explorers/(H)The Reliquary, and (A)The Twilight Pllot/(H)The Twilight Pllot, as well as their followup quests, are also not required to gain access to the faction.

Edit: Written from the perspective of an alliance character. Most of the quests are the same for the horde, except for the ones noted, sorry for the mistake.

Spent literally days flying around Deepholm, trying to find the quests to unlock the Therazane sequence. For all of them either the npcs aren't even there or they won't talk to me...
And I'm revered with Earthen Ring, so it can't be a rep issue with them...

Questhubber is no help. It shows every level appropriate potential quest not yet completed, but none of them are actually available to me.

So apparently the entire Deepholm sequence bugged out on me, leaving me with no option whatsoever to unlock Therazane.

I didn't need to do the Deepholm quests to level or anything, but I just needed it for the Therazane rep and I have a few alts too so I figured out that you only need to do the quests from , , & the shaman next to the tauren.

The quest chain is kind of long, but you will know if you're on the right track when they send you to the alliance ship and then eventually to the rock elementals.

so i have an issue... to give perspective here's my situation. im currently 42/110 for the deepholm quest completion. my completion on wowhead shows that i have "diplomacy first" quest completed and the "all our friends are dead" quest not completed. however i attempt to go to the "all our friends are dead" quest giver and there is no quest available. im hated by therazane and i need to know if there's a way i can dig myself out of this

So I was curious if i did every quest in the chain in Deepholm how many it would take before you can interact with therazane, its 83. After you do the Quest from Diamant you are then friendly with Therazane. Hope this helps

With Mr. Popularity my rep was 11332/12000 (Honored) after completing all of the intro quests and the first set of daily quests not including the dungeon quest Wayward Child. The whole chain is about 62432 rep, so 9364 rep extra from the 15% from perks. (A little less than 5 days worth of dailies.) Might actually be worthwhile to wait until your guild has this perk to save you nearly a week of dailies... as long as you're not in a hurry to get the shoulder chants (raiding).

EDIT: On another character with no guild perks my rep was 8185/12000 (Honored) (patch 4.3), so they must have boosted the rep rewards since 4.0.

Even so, if it's near Halloween or Thanksgiving it might be a good idea to wait a while to get the +10% rep buffs associated with the holiday before you do the 3 quests that award 7000rep and the 15 or so others that award 500rep. It will save you almost a week of dailies.

For a human (racial perk) in a level 12+ guild (guild perk) doing these dailies will give you 58-89 rep points with your guild. I'm at revered, working on exalted.

I suggest to everyone who left this zone before without completing it first and are having trouble finding quests to get quest completion. Although you still may be flying around the zone for a while it will show you where the quests are on the map. I flew allover the area until I ran into Crag Rockcrusher and continued my questing, who's in Stonehearth.

As of Jan 21 2012 I have 176 rep left with Therazane and nothing as far as grinding is concerned. I get no rep for killing these mobs. So looks like revered is outta the questions, maybe once revered? Thanks, looks like I'll jump in a dungeon!

Has anyone tried grinding this rep with kills once you open it up? I noticed that some of the twilight cultists around the world give you five rep each. Can anyone confirm when this ends? I would assume at neutral, but am not sure. It looks to me, based on the non-daily quests that you will be at 54400 reputation after doing the chain that leads up to the dailies (assuming the faction quests on wowhead are all accessible on that journey). One needs 84999 rep to get 999 exalted with a faction. (84999-54400)=30599, 30599/5=6120, 5 rep kills. It seems easier to me to kill that many mobs than to do dailes for two-three weeks, though I have the insane title, so maybe I define easier differently.

To this point in time, the mobs I've found that give Therazane reputation with kills are (and you will only gain reputation if you completed the quest Imposing Confrontation):

Deepholm
Lorthuna's Gate:
-Twilight Laborer (5 Rep)
-Twilight Priestess (5 Rep)
-Twilight Duskwarden (5 Rep)
-Dragul Giantbutcher (10 Rep)

Twilight Highlands
Ruins of Drakgor:
-Twilight Bonebreaker (5 Rep)

I find that it's easier to figure out which random quests are available each day by knowing who gives which quest.
(This is Mairin's breakdown with the questgivers added)

Honored (Fixed, 250 Rep each)

Felsen the Enduring starts/ends:
- Fear of Boring

Gorsik the Tumultuous starts/ends:
- Soft Rock
- Fungal Fury (Achievement: Fungal Frenzy)

Ruberick starts/ends:
- Through Persistence

Honored (Random - 1 Per Day, 250 Rep)

Felsen the Enduring starts/ends:
- Beneath the Surface

Pyrite Stonebinder starts/ends:
- Lost In The Deeps (Achievement: Rock Lover)

Revered (Random - 1 Per Day, 350 Rep)

I had difficulty in finding out what quests there were and where to get them from.

The quests are listed alphabetically - I suggest that you sort them out by minimum level required if you need to find the earlier quests. Note that not all the quests give rep for Therazane but may need to be completed to progress and to unlock the dailys.

I will try to make a list of the quests in a linear form so that it will be easier to find where in the chain one needs to restart from (I have a toon at 81 now). Hope the above helps in the meantime.

I just became Friendly with Therazane and able to buy the tabard for rep grinding when I hit 83/110 quests in Deepholm. The last quest that I did was "A Rock Amongst Many". I still have other toons that need this tabard and am interested to find out if I can just skip the rest of Deepholm and go directly to the Lower Pillar questline. Does anyone know if this would work? Thanks.

Does the attunement for the Therazane dailies require completion of all the Deepholm quests? or are there specific quests that can be concentrated on?

Just a question, but am I the only person who is disappointed that this faction doesn't sell the stone drakes? I know, once someone reads this post it'll get downvoted due to "No-go farm for Aeonaxx!"

Though in my opinion it would have been nice to see a few more Cata factions (besides Guild mounts) that sold mounts (Now that I think about it, isn't it odd that Red dragons will sell you a red drake once exalted in Wyrmrest? uhhhhh...)

Stone mounts at exalted with Therazane would make sence, at least if they did sell Stone drakes they would (could) at least have the skin color of Felsen, Pyrite Stonetender, or one of the other Stone beings.

Man the devs must be really proud of Deepholm they make you play through the entire zone on every character you roll, unlike the other factions where the enchants are BoA.

I have like 4 alts, I'm so sick of this zone...

I got stuck right around 51 quests completed and couldn't find any additional quests. For me, the available quests were available from Earthbreaker Dolomite (28, 69) and Crag Rockcrusher (27, 68).
