Atm there are 168 recipe's ingame.
I got 168 myself(if you are a rouge you can get 169 (thisle thea is only for a rouge bop)).
Download Ackis Recipe List then you can see what you missed.
So whit the 32 new one's its doable to get this one.
But i hope it will be a tittle.
Its a realy hard one.

I currently have 169 recipes. This is every recipe up to and through WotLK, except Thistle Tea, which I cannot get, since I am not a rogue.
The Cata cooking vendor has 28 recipes, and there are a few more, as listed above: two feasts, and a couple of others.
So as it stands, unless more are released with the expansion (perhaps some trainer recipes?), there will not yet be enough. However, there may be drop recipes, trainer recipes, or more vendor recipes included later. So for the moment, I think we can safely call this one unattainable. Can't wait until it is!

I have every cooking recipe pre-cata (incl alliance recipes and dirge's). I will end up on 198 with all the vendor recipes, but I _assume_ there will be new feasts, considering the guild achievements including feasts.

I am bummed that I won't be able to get this achievement... per ARL, only 198 recipes are available to me. I actually started off as a night elf, so have all of the alliance recipes, but there are three that are impossible for me to get: thistle tea (rogue only), dirge's chops (quest gone), and dig rat stew (quest removed, vendor no longer sells it).

I contemplated dropping 10k gold on the dirge's recipe, but that would still only put me at 199. :(

Just checked and with the current recipes, the MAX you can get is 198 recipes. and that is not including Dirges. So to those that state that they will have it in 6 days, I would love to know how you can get recipes that do not exist.

I do have all the recipe's from Classic till WotLK, excluding the Thistle Tea. Yet, I am 1 short and I suppose that has the come from another guild achievement? I already have the dragonboil feast one...

I can confirm that the Tasty Lion Steak recipe has been added to trainers! Not 100% sure on any other recipes.

Sporeling Snack has been demoted to Junk and the recipe has been removed from the game (and therefore our cookbooks), bringing the grand total to 202.

This soooo needs to be a TITLE for the 200 recipe achievement before they add more recipes. Once they add more recipes, remove the title but still keep the achievement. If you aren't a rogue, you have to get both guild recipes and all the old recipes (minus Thistle Tea) to get to 200. The quest chain to get Dirge's Kickin' Chimaerok Chops was a pain for a 70 mage!

I still don't understand why they don't make the Thistle Tea sellable to non-rogues with at least a certain rep level. That way the recipe is attainable just very difficult to do so. Does any rogue even use the tea anymore?

Like many of you who have posted here, I too will find myself a few recipes short of completing this achievement (3 short to be exact). The recipes I'm missing are either no longer in game (Dirge's Chops or Tasty Lion) or not available to me because of my class (Warriors = no Thistle Tea) or because of my Faction (Horde = no Roasted Moongraze).
However, this isn't the first time an achivement is impossible to complete. Some of you may remember that Northrend Gourmet originally asked for Succulent Orca Stew yet that recipe was never made available.
Blizz can be experts at making stupid mistakes like this but they always end up fixing them.

ticketed a GM about it and they said they are looking in to it.

so since that one is gone, feahtered lure aswell for time beeing, i must asume they will put thouse 2 back in to the game, since they where not ment to be gone. and i am also guessing some more new will be put in just so this achivement will be doable for all that want to, even new players or els they would have made it a FoS, but if you know blizz, they will probs just nerf it to 195 or so...

I had all the paterns in game -thistle tea Pre-Cata this includes both horde and ally quest paterns.

I'm not sure if the in-game counter is off, or what, but things don't add up.

I'm a DK, so no thistle tea, and I'm not shelling out thousands of gold for Dirge's. However, I have every other available recipe, minus the ones I haven't gotten the cooking awards to purchase yet. This includes Tasty Lion Steak, Kaldorei Spider Kabob, Dig Rat Stew, and Roasted Moongraze Tenderloin. So, Dirge's and Thistle should be the only old ones I won't have.

According to all the information in this page, then, I should have no problem reaching 200 recipes. And yet, my counter is sitting at 190 with 8 recipes left to get from Stormwind cooking dailies, and I've already learned the recipe for Broiled Dragon Feast from the guild achievement. So, even if we unlock the Seafood Magnifique recipe before I get the awards needed to buy the rest of the Stormwind recipes, I'll be one short.

So either the information on the number of available recipes is wrong, or the in-game counter is wrong, at least on my toon.

My tracker is showing 184/200 recipes. Ackis Recipe List says the only ones I'm missing now are the 13 I have yet to buy off the guy in SW with the Chef's Awards. Once I have those 13 recipes I will still be short 3 for the achievement. I have all of the ones from holiday events and the guild feast recipes. Seems that I'll be unable to get this achievement without recipes that have been removed from the game?

I haven't seen one anywhere in trade chat on my server. And I check the AH daily for recipes I don't have since I guess there's a couple others that were quest rewards that someone might have sitting in their bank somewhere.. but I think it's pretty retarded that you have to rely on the possibility that someone might have a recipe that doesn't exist anymore in order to get an achievement that does.

It's already said that there are 201 recipes that could have been learned. For non-rogues (except the lucky ones to get the old BoE-recipe) Thistle Tea is -1. Didn't get the Dirge's Kickin' Chimaerok Chops, also -1. That's already down to 199.
Now some new info, not gonna make you happier.
Gikkix in Tanaris sold recipes for grilled squid, poached sunscale salmon, nightfin soup and spotted yellowtail. He was just hanging around, making a buck, minding his own bizznizz. Till one day Cata hit Azeroth. A giant wave hit Tanaris and Gikkix got washed away. The 4 recipes he only sold went down in the Big Blue with him. So currently nobody can teach you how to grill a squid, poach a salmon, cook some soup or bake your raw yellowtails anymore. A rescue-party has been organized to save the recipes.....
So currently there are 195 recipes obtainable for non-rogues.
My druid has Gikkix' recipes, but not the Chops-recipe. So now I'm at 187 and ARL tells me there are 12 recipes still ingame I can learn coming to a total of 199.... Why can't druids learn thistle tea, we use energy aswell?
But if this would give the title, it would almost be worth the 28K for the Chops-recipe on my server.

For any non rogues that need 1 more recipe to get their achievement, I have the BOE Thistle Tea recipe. This can be learned by any class and counts towards Iron Chef.

Recipe: Scalding Murglesnout

This recipe was added to Bario Matalli's inventory, with the cost of 3 Chef's Awards. Murglesnout now has a use, and we have our last elusive recipe. /dance

Although, scalding murglesnout actually sounds rather unappealing!

This achievement has been possible since cata launch, I just got it today without having the 2 new feast recipes, and didnt have Thistle Tea also. Feathered Lure made it back into the game together with another recipe, which made it possible for me to get this achi and still have 2 new recipes to learn! But now you can do it without Dirge's epic recipe ;)

Went to Curse, downloaded ARL and it shows me that I am missing 1 Alliance recipe, 1 I will buy today (Fortune Cookie), Dirge's, Magnificent Seafood Feast and Thistle tea. Not being a rogue, I cant get Thistle, and no Dirge's on the AH. I am at 197, so fortune will put me at 198, I will make a Draenie to get the Moonglaze recipe and Neutral AH it over, and then gotta fish like crazy to get Magnificent (my guild is 1884/10000) lol

Blizzard re-added the feathered Lure, which can be bought with Chef's Award. So even without the Ahn'Quiraj epic recipe there are enough to get this Achievement.

My death knight is at 197/200. Ackis Recipe List tells me that I only have Roasted Moongraze Tenderloin and Seafood Magnifique feast left. I have no idea what I could get that would let me get this achievement...

Looks that I'm stuck at 198 with only Undermine Clam Chowder, Dig Rate Stew, Dirge's Kicking Chimaerok Chops and Sout Island Iced Tea left. So I wont get past 199 unless I want to pay 80k to some idiot for DKCHC. grrr.

Missing Tasty Lion Steak, Thistle Tea, and Kaldorei Spider Kabob (all unobtainable by me) as of buying the Seafood Magnifique Feast today, I was at 199 recipes.
So I took the initiative and leveled a draenei to lvl 4 on another account and got the Recipe: Roasted Moongraze Tenderloin from the quest The Great Moongraze Hunt. Took about 20 minutes.
Then to the boat from Exodar to Darnassus, and on to Stormwind. Another 5 minutes.
The longest part was swimming from Stormwind down to Booty Bay to hit up the neutral auction house... which took almost an hour in itself, but resulted in 0 deaths.

Just goes to show that there are still ways of not having to pay extortionate amounts, if you managed to get lucky on what recipes you have left.

I dont know if someone have posted this already, but ill post it anyway; Inside Dire Maul east theres a boss called Pusillin that drops a cooking recipe. Just go inside the instance, talk to the imp and follow him untill he stops and talk again. Keep doing this untill he attacks you. Kill him and the recipe is yours. The recipe is Recipe: Runn Tum Tuber Surprise

If you're looking at the instance map, he is behind a wooden cage in the pink area of the instance map. Just open the cage he's in and talk to him, he gives you an option for the recipe.

Though the Dig Rat recipe was not sold from Grub (55,61), just outside of The Crossroads, and a little disapointing when you talk to him and all he has to say is how tasty Dig Rat is.

And if you're looking for these recipies on Alliance, just get a friend to get to a neutral AH and put them up for a low price for you to buy. ^.^

I just got "Iron Chef" a few minutes ago. The last recipe was Seafood Magnifique. I fished obsessively for a week and my guild got the 10,000 fish from pools achieve too. I hope Blizzard doesn't add new recipes for awhile, sorry. Good Luck!
I had to buy Dirge's Kickin Chops and the Tasty Lion Steaks among others to get it. (those were the really really expensive ones).

I went to do the new Ironforge cooking daily, and Daryl Riknussun sells the "Fillet of Frenzy" recipe. That only leaves me one short of the achieve (whoo!). I'll keep looking for new/readded recipes with crossed fingers.

This achievement is possible now that cooking trainers in the major cities teach Recipe: Fillet of Frenzy, Tasty Lion Steak and Kaldorei Spider Kabob (the two latter were previously removed).

This is do-able :) I think the new patch re-instated some old recipes.
I fully recommend the use of the Ackis Addon - it helped me get my missing 5 VERY quickly!

As an alliance paly..this achieve is still not possible unless you learned recipes prior to them being removed, or purchase the recipes off the AH. I'm stuck at 199/199 recipes according to Ackis. My guild is lvl 25 and I have learned the seafood feast.

I received my Iron Chef yesterday and a guildee asked for my list. I didn't use Dirge's Kickin' Chimaerok Chops, Savory Deviate Delight or Thistle Tea. I am Alliance and I bought some of the recipes from the AH .Here it is, hope it helps.

I have this achievement! I don't have the epic recipe tho. I was surprised to get it, didn't know it was an achieve, got it after I learned the last recipe in cata, I would have finished doing dailies a while ago if I had known it was there. I previously had chef title from Wrath and had collected all the recipes available back then.

im guessing more will surface as this being unobtainable is most likely not intended. If it were intended to be unobtainable, it would have been made a Feat of Strength. Granted, in the future it may be, but while it is still available in the active achievements, we can only assume it will be able to be completed at a later date.

As of Patch 4.1, formerly expired recipes have been readded to your original cooking trainers in your faction capital cities. Most should be sitting at 197 and this will push you to your 200 mark. Good luck!

I'm currently at 197 recipies. I downloaded the ackis list and it says there are 2 more available to me, the seafood guild achieve recipe and one horde recipe (the one from duskwallow forget the name). So that will put me at 199. I don't have Dirge's, dig rat stew or the undermine clam chowder, but those were removed. So it looks like there is no way for me to get to 200, unless the recipe list is missing something.....any ideas?

EDIT: Thanks Saugeen for posting your list. I compared it to mine and I found I was missing Kiblers Bits. For some reason the Ackis list did not flag that one as missing, so maybe there is a glitch in Ackis. Kiblers Bits comes from the daily cooking in Shatrath, so if people are still coming up short that may be a place to check.

On the 4.2.0 PTR, "Chef" Overheat sells the Undermine Clam Chowder recipe in limited supply. This makes Iron Chef obtainable for new non-rogue characters!

So, while Recipe: Undermine Clam Chowder was indeed added in 4.2 it appears that the Sporeling Snack recipe was removed. Unless Dig Rat Stew was added somewhere as well this achievement is still not possible for non-Rogues (assuming you don't have any of the other extinct recipes like Dirge's).

Edit: Hurray, Recipe: Dig Rat Stew was found! Uncommon drop from the mobs at Bael Modan in Southern Barrens. Thanks to the below posters for pointing that out.

Alright. I'm stuck at 198. I downloaded the Ackis addon, and all it tells me is Seafood Magnifique (my #199, my guild is currently working on), Thistle Tea (warlock, so unavailable to me), and "unknown" from Mycah in Zangarmarsh (which I found out was the Sporeling Snack recipe - no longer attainable). I am also missing the Dirge recipe, also unobtainable.. but I can't figure out anything else I may be, which Really sucks, since this toon is as old as the first week of Vanilla. =( Any suggestions as to one I may have missed somewhere? =/

2 recipes some may be missing (I think they used to be Alliance only) can be looted in Westfall by Horde & Alliance. They're now BoP so they'll drop if you don't know them yet but could take 10 or so kills.

Go to 35, 61 in Westfall (just north west of Moonbrook & southwest of Alexton Farmstead). There's a camp there of 3 Riverpaw Gnolls & they re-spawn fast.

I went to check out Prospector Khazgorm to see if he was really gone. He was gone, however upon busting out a Divine Storm in a group of six-or-so Excavation Raiders at the two tents in Bael Modan Excavation site I managed to loot Recipe: Dig Rat Stew.

Is there any new ones for horde to obtain? I was at 199/200 before they took away sporeling snacks. I am now at 198/200 and still needing to get clamlette magnifique. The other 2 are dirge's and dig rat, and since I'm not alliance I can't get dig rat since it's BOP. I have Westfall Stew and Cooked Crab Claw, as well as Undermine Clam Chowder. So, as non-rogue horde, what is the recipe I'm missing other than Dirge's? Once I get Clamlette Magnifique I will be stuck at 199/200 :(

Sporeling Snack has been removed from the game with 4.2.
This recipe has been purged from your list and no longer counts towards Iron Chef. I noticed I was at 198/200 the day after 4.2 when I'd just got to 199 the day prior. Took ages to find what it was but there you go. So Iron Chef just got even harder.

I currently (will) have 199 once I finish accruing the Cata recipes from the vendor - the only one I am missing is Bread of the Dead, which will be gotten in a couple of months. I don't have Dirge's, I am a Rogue so I do have thistle tea.

- Dig Rat Stew drops as a BOP recipe from ~~the excavators~~ dig rats (thanks Macmadden!) around the dig site. I got one within about 5 minutes from killing them.
- Lean Venison Steak and Lean Wolf Steak are both available from the Caravan escort quest in Desolace. It spawns at either Mannoroc Coven, or north side of Karnum's Glade. They do a /yell looking for "bodyguards" to help them get from one side to the other. A vendor bot spawns (ONLY WHEN THEY STOP MOVING AT THE END), each time, with either one of these recipes (depending on which side of the escort you're on).Wait about ten minutes after they reach the stop point on one side, and they'll do another quest to get back, dropping a bot at the end with the other pattern.
I keep hearing from people (as well as a friend who ticketed it, and got a GM response) that the caravans no longer spawn. This was, according to the GM, a side-effect of changing several things in the zone, and they have yet to 'reinstate' the caravan into Desolace. I'm in the process of re-verifying this, but as it stands it looks like it's no longer running - this leads me to believe that, like the Undermine Clam Chowder, they put a vendor in the world somewhere with the recipes.
- Undermine Clam Chowder is now available from "Chef" Overheat at Fuselight in the Badlands. He carries 2 at a time. It is no longer available in Tanaris, as the NPC is dead and no longer there. Fuselight is the only location you can get it from.

I got my achievement today...I have all the recipes pre-cata + Alliance&Horde Recipes, there are 202 recipes (counting the recipes pre-cata) in the game, im missing the "South Island Iced Tea" and the recipe from ravenholdt ( Im not a rogue so...)

I'm on 198. WIll get Goldthorn tea and Bread of the dead - that will put me to 200. Only one I can't get is the rogue one (and that is the last one who is ingame, making number of 201 recipe for us who started playing year ago), so if you aren't playing from beginning of the WoW and you are not rogue - then you will barely make this achievement.

Now, what I want to know is why I have the achievement, when 2 of my guildies who both lack the exact same 2 recipes only have 199/200.

So what do you think I have that they do not have? I never got Dirge's Chops. And I believe the other ones taken out of game won't show on either of our lists (thinking of specifically Sporeling Snacks here).

I'm stuck at 199/200. According the official WoW armory, the only two recipes I'm missing are Clam Chowder (NOT Undermine Clam Chowder, but the regular one) and Dirge's Kickin' Chimaerok Chops. (I'm missing Thistle Tea too, but the armory doesn't mention that, and I'm not a rogue, so...).

Anyway, Clam Chowder is apparently not available to horde in 4.2. I made an ally, bought it in Westfall, sold it via cross faction AH to my guildie, and he purchased it and gave it to me... and low and behold it had changed into the recipe for Slitherskin Mackerel, which I already had. I submitted a ticket and Blizzard said this is working as intended. Frustration. :(

I also have most of the recipes including Undermine and Dig Rat Stew, but I am still coming up short even with Ackis to 199. I still need a few of the cooking badge recipes but I still count 199 and I can't get thistle tea or the Moongraze Tenderloin. Any thoughts on something that isn't in the updated Ackis or that I missed.

As of right now, unless you got dirge's recipe, or manage to buy it, with the removal of the sporeling snack, you need both guild recipes to get the Iron Chef achiev.

If you don't want to use ARL or it isn't 100% accurate for you, you can armory your character you can pull up your cooking profession and click Not Yet Learned to see the most up to date list of obtainable recipes you are missing.

Also if you were planning on sending the vendor bought Recipe: Westfall Stew and Recipe: Cooked Crab Claw from Alliance to Horde they were made soulbound (even the ones kept in the bank). But they drop now:

I was in Westfall and farmed this + Recipe: Cooked Crab Claw when I found an AWESOME spawn point.

Its at 35.61, there are 3 gnolls that stands in a triangle. When you kill all three of them, they all respawn at the same time.
I was there for about 15-20 minutes, and got both of the recipes.

This achievement differs from Chef de Cuisine because Chef de Cuisine did not require the seasonal recipes and seasonal recipes did not count toward the achievement. Iron chef requires these eight recipes or you will be short and they count toward the achievement.

Bloody nightmare if you're not a rogue. There's 202 recipes in game, one can only be found in the AH for extraordinary extremely exorbidant prices, and one is only available to rogues (found in Ravenholdt). So, if you wanna get 200, you'll be hitting the AH a lot or switching factions at least once to get all of the recipes. I only just got this myself.

As of patch 4.3 the Recipe: Dig Rat Stew is no longer dropped from . Instead it is dropped from Dig Rat at the same excavation site. Killing and looting the dig rats will eventually yield Plump Dig Rat which will teach you the recipe after cooking the item.

I was stuck at 199 and had a hell of a time figuring out what was missing until I got ARL. It also shows the drop locations and vendors for all the recipes on both factions for easy reference.

as patch 4.3.0 there are 201 recipe in game, but one is no longer ottenible Dirge's Kickin' Chimaerok Chops and you can buy it only if someone kept it in the bank for years

to complete this achievement there is now a very nice function in the wowarmory, you just have to go to your character page, then profession, cooking, not learned and you will see the list of recipe not yet learned with the wowhead link where you can see how to get them.

You will need a total of 74 Northrend Cooking Awards. Best achieved through the turn-in of exactly 25 Waterlogged Recipe for 5 awards every time. Albeit probably not the cheapest way to go about it, it is still the most time-efficient. I would advise mixing in both Dalaran cooking quests and the scanning of the Auction House on a daily basis to snatch those cheap Waterlogged Recipes.

On top of that, you will need to get yourself a tedious (yes, I dare say it, tedious!) 91 Chef's Awards, obtainable from the cooking quests available in the "main" capital cities of your faction, which includes neither The Exodar nor Silvermoon City. To this day, there sadly is no equivalent of Waterlogged Recipe for the Chef's Awards. If you're a bit of a daily quest slacker, make sure you at least never skip the daily quest that rewards you with TWO Chef's Awards instead of one. Respectively, these are :

For Horde:
- (Orgrimmar)
- (Thunder Bluff)
- (Undercity)

For Alliance:
- (Stormwind)
- (Ironforge)
- (Darnassus)

This list doesn't take into consideration all the non-award related cooking recipes, but I think I might just get onto that soon.

Don't lose hope, post-Cata toons! I just got Iron Chef on my post-Cata druid, it is still possible! I did not have to pay 75k gold for Dirge's Kickin' Chimaerok Chops and I am obviously not a rogue for Thistle Tea. I definitely recommend going the armory way, ARL didn't work for me.

Horde, level 85 with 525 Cooking, having earned the title of Chef, my Iron Chef progress was 160/200 known recipes with only 7 recipes known for Cataclysmic Gourmet (I had both Guild recipes and Thistle Tea recipe, rogue only). I have picked up a handful (probably less than 10) recipes that were reputation or vendor or location drop specific in my time of questing and running raids/dungeons. I went through the recipes listed on WoWhead and ignored those purchasable for cooking commendations and these are the recipes I was missing (they are quest/drops, vendor specific, quest specific, trainer specific or opposite faction). NOTE: None of the recipes I have listed require cooking daily commendations to purchase. This is not a full list of all recipes exclusive to vendors, however this helped me boost closer to Iron Chef with recipes purchased without daily cooking commendations from the ones that I had not learned at this point.

I checked the Armory's "Not Learned Yet" feature. I have 195 recipes learned and it says I'm missing 6. 1 of those is Goldthorn Tea and I'm a mage, so that means I could possibly have exactly 200, but that includes the removed-from-game Dirge's Kickin' Chimearok Chops, so that's not happening (not available on my server anymore, and never was affordable). So the current total seems to be 199 in 4.3.3, if you are not a rogue and don't have the purple recipe. I'm not positive whether I might have other recipes that are no longer available, making the number lower for someone who started collecting after Cataclysm.

I just spent a few days finishing cooking dailys and farming for recipes, im currently at 199/200 and the last recipe i can get isRecipe: Seafood Magnifique Feast

My guild doesnt have many members and we are currently at 4.7k/10k for the fishing achievment, looks like i have a lot of fishing to do to get my Iron Chef, that or wait until MoP comes out.

Best way to find out what your missing, check the armory.. it shows what you have and not have collected.

There seems to be some questions about this achieve - especially for so-called "Cata Babies". This is still doable without the Recipe: Dirge's Kickin' Chimaerok Chops or even the Recipe: Thistle Tea; BUT, you will need to be in a Guild that has both Recipe: Seafood Magnifique Feast and Recipe: Broiled Dragon Feast available from the Guild Vendor.

My main is a Horde Rogue that was created (along with the account) at the start of Cataclysm. He currently has 191 recipes, and there are still 10 more available. 2 of those remaining recipes are purchasable only by Alliance, and the remaining 8 are from the Day of the Dead, Pilgrim's Bounty and Winter Veil world events.
