This is one of the new zones in Outland in the Burning Crusade. It is home to the The Black Temple, Illidan's Lair here in Outland.

Shadowmoon Valley is also a higher level zone, as in level 67-70, and is not recommended to come here if you are not that high yet.

Questing in Shadowmoon Valley will get you some nice gear for all level 70 instances plus they amount you quite nice money. Only drawback will be that a lot of chains have group quests in them but if you can find some friends or guildies it's a nice zone to quest in.

There is a wanted poster for Wanted: Uvruos, Scourge of Shadowmoon for the alliance which isn't marked on the quest map for some reason. It's inside wildhammer stronghold at 38.1 54.1

Does anyone know what the scroll is used for behind The summoning stone for the Black Temple ?

It has a cog for use - Although whenever you click it, it does nothing just goes back to being usable again.

Make good use of this, and come here halfway (or 3/4) into 69.

This place was a bitch to me. I only reccomend coming here to earn xp.

Save your group quests, though. You will probably do those later on.

Theres 3 flightpaths.
Wildhammer, Aldor FP, and Scryers FP. Scryers is to the right of Wildhammer.
Aldors is above Black Temple.

The best way to earn loads of money really fast is not to quest here or in Netherstorm until the big mark where quest begin to give money instead of experience.

So in other words You're wanting us to grind out about 2.3 million experience so when we hit 70 you go quest in Shadowmoon Valley and Netherstorm to get gold. Thats a joke.

Maybe to some people they would actually do that but for me personally I'd not do it.

You have quests in Nagrand, Blade's Edge, and perhaps Terrokkar and Zangar to get money from.

Shadowmoon Valley is a very place for gold farming or Aldor Reputation farming if you need it. Click for map; Legion Hold is circled, this is a great place to kill demons for Marks of the Sargeras and the occasional Fel Armament. A decently geared level seventy should be able to kill several demons without the need to take a break.

In my opinion, this area is home to some of the most fun quests in the game. You can control a fel reaver, and have an epic 1v1 battle with a ?? elite with another ?? elite you control. I personaly failed both of these many times so I could do them agian. :p

actually you will lvl real fast if you stick to killing the "floating green eyes" in the black temple -they have 350+ life(just make sure that you kill them before they see u)-Rogue

The quests here are considerably more difficult than those of many other zones. Many are group quests; many others have you going into narrow areas with large crowds of quickly-respawning mobs (Deathforge, Path of Conquest, etc.). The payoff is decent if you're taking time to gain in gear and reputation while leveling. Plus, this is one of those zones where you can have a sense of accomplishment for the work you put in. Just don't be surprised if you find yourself rather frustrated along the way! I would say this has been probably the most challenging zone for me to level in.

Hint: don't go to the Altar of Shatar seeking that flight route also.

This is your flight route if you aligned yourself with the Aldor.

Hint: don't go to the Sanctum of the Stars seeking that flight route also.

Yes, the lowest you should be doing quests here is 68. I have seen some 67's runnin around but they would be more suited for Netherstorm.

I came here at 66 and farmed lvl 70 blood elves until i got 67. The first quests of the first town appear at that level and I think the aldor and scryer towns would be 68.

I Hit 70 and never went to Shadowmoon, and im not even halfway through with the netherstorm, if you do everything in blades egde there is more than enough to get you from 67 to 70 in netherstorm...so..many...quests...XD, although it makes since that if your scryer go to netherstorm cause everthing you kill is BE, and everything in Shadowmoon is burning legion (aldor), but they are both amazing

Is it just me or are some of the directions in quests mixed up? This gnome in Wildhammer tells me to go east to find those dinosaur spleens, and they're north. Then some person in the Altar of Sha'tar tells me to go southeast to karabor, but all that's there is the Black Temple. WHat's up with that?

The Netherwing quest chain starts from Mordenai. He wanders around in the Netherwing Fields in the southeast of Shadowmoon Valley. Co-ords vary, try around 62,59.

You must complete the quest chain he starts in order to become neutral with Netherwing. You will then need to gain 300 riding skill before you can start grinding Netherwing rep to get the Netherwing drake mount. Mordenai's original chain will involve flying; you will need to be level 70 and have a flying mount in order to complete it.

Here is a tip that will drive down the price of Knothide leather. Go to Oronoks farm and kill the boars he has there. The NPC heals you when your low on health, you can vendor what you get and he can repair your items. The boars respawn fast as long as you keep skinning them.

Shadowmoon Valley is great for farming (Fire) primals. Though some people can hit 70 without ever going here. I didnt go to shadowmoon untill i was 69.

Absolutely awful place to quest as a druid. So many of the quests require you to shift out of your form to do things, from activating items to needing to wear a costume to have a spell effect that ends when you shapeshift. I would wholeheartedly recommend Netherstorm instead for high-level questing. It's much friendlier to druids.
