I found that this zone is very nice for leveling from 35 untill about 40. There are some quest there that are ver easy to solo and the mobs there drop vendor trash that can net you a lot of money. Most of all you can grind here without worry. In most places very few mobs such as the Elementals will get pulled together so you can fight one at a time. And if your a Warlock such as myself banish can come in handy here if you make a pulling mistake. But most of all just have fun, don't worry and going to the right places and questing how your told, this game is about adventure and exploration. It's not about going by what people tell you. Play the way you want to play.

For horde, this is a long trip. Starting from Arathi Highlands, take the road at the Southern point across the broken bridge through the Wetlands. When viewing the Wetlands map, youll see that the road splits in three. Continue down the road on a straight path and itll lead you to Dun Algaz, which takes you through the mountains into Loch Modan. Youll start to run into Alliance dwarves as your on the road. Head SE towards the lake and follow the shore south. Youll find a path as you continue south that is a series of tunnels that eventually leads you into the Badlands.
Youll pass through low level areas, just avoid the Alliance sentinels as you pass. Youll aggro a few but just run.

Though not an obvious landmark, there is a tribute to the movie "Conan" here in the Badlands. If you go southeast of the Hammertoe Digsite and follow an unmarked path up a hill there, you will soon arrive at the entrance of an underground crypt. There are no mobs to worry about within this place, but inside you can see an armored skeleton amongst several others sitting on a grand throne.

For alliance, if you are not too sure, travel to Loch modan (Thelsamar) head a little east until you find a path leading south. Head down it and if you get to Uldaman you know you're in the right place!
Going there now at level 37, good luck!

It's important to note that the mobs (especially the Coyotes and Buzzards) are extremely bunched together in this zone. While it's great for grinding, traveling through this zone can be a pain in the neck.
Also, watch out for
Anathemus
. He's a level 45 Rare Elite that patrols the western part of the zone. Think of him as the low level version of the
Fel Reaver
, a massive 70 Elite mob in Outland who is infamous for ganking unsuspecting players.

There is another way to get here. If you have the goblin transporter device from Scotty in Booty Bay, you can teleport from there to Gnomeragan. Exiting the instance, you simply have to run to Loch Modan, go left thru the tunnels to Thesallmar, then around the lake to Badlands. Hugging the right wall will get you to the Horde flight point.

Areas affected in Cataclysm:
Angor Fortress- from just south of here all the way to the SW corner of the Badlands is a swath of destruction (named Aggramar's Hammer), with charred desert and the tops of mountains sliced off and glowing with lava.
Camp Boff- NW of here is a small Horde camp with a flight master; just past this camp is a new dig site into an underground area that appears very similar to Uldaman.
Camp Cagg- NE of here is a small Alliance camp with flight master.
Hammertoe's Digsite- the dwarf camp south of the site now contains an Alliance flight path.
Kargath- buried by an avalanche; it has been rebuilt nearby with updated architecture and fortifications in the area near Apocryphan's Rest.
Lethlor Ravine – above the ravine is a neutral Goblin outpost with flight master; following the path outside of town and across the opposite side of the ravine leads to a Goblin transporter, but where it leads is unknown at this time - it should also be noted that another goblin-themed town is over the hill and along the coast, with another transporter, so this is presumably how the two towns connect; the ravine appears to have been widened in some places.
Other – a deep chasm runs between Badlands and Loch Modan – it is uncertain as of this time how players will proceed into the zone from Loch.

you can enter Searing Gorge from here. When you stand in Kargath, place youself next to the people, looking the same way, and go to your right. Then its the first real path on your right :)

When you approach from Thelsamar/ Loch Modan as before you are faced with what seems an insurmountable chasm with Uldaman on the other side.
However!
do not despair. If you move up to the edge on the western side of the opening, at 47.2, 73.5, there is in fact a very narrow and steep
path
that leads you down and back up the other side into Badlands. It is not clear at all especially at night but I have passed this way and it is possible.
Just be aware that the sides are very steep and it is very easy to fall though hopefully not fatally. Saves a long, long detour otherwise.
Once over I suggest heading east toward the coast and grab the new flight path at neutral Fuselight, the new goblin settlement at 66,36 (there is a path up with bright way markers starting around 60.7,28.3). Or straight ahead to the flight path at Dustwind Dig for alliance at around 50,37 (hopefully coords are showing accurately)

Here’s how to get to the Badlands without the risk of falling in a big hole. Did it on my Horde so works great for both sides!
If you are Horde and not high enough lvl to get there by air, there is still a easy way to get there on ground.
Travel to Arathi Highlands and take the road south all the way to the Wetlands. Once there you’ll have to be careful for Alliance
Take the road south towards Slabchisel’s Survey (say out of there if Horde) To the west of that you should see one of those Dwarf tunnels, it leads to Dun Algaz.
Take the first tunnel and follow the road, then another tunnel, then a road with some lvl 25 pvp guards and some Dragonmaw to the right ignore that and go to the next tunnel. Then short road, tunnel, and Ta-da Loch Modan.
Once in Loch Modan follow the road all the way to the south-west corner to the Valley of the Kings. The tunnel at the very end of this road leads to Dustfire Valley in Searing Gorge.
Once in the Searing Gorge take the road south to Thorium Advance and from then the road east to the BADLANDS! Yay, hope you didn’t get lost or ganked. xD

"someone said go south from wetlands, thats a great idea, if there was a way through the shear cliff face of the mountainside."
This is already covered above, but apparently not in enough detail, so..
There is a tunnel between the Wetlands and Loch Modan.
If you follow the road that winds S in the Wetlands, you will eventually reach a tunnel. This tunnel winds around a bit, but keep going and you will make it to Loch Modan. From there ride S down the road, turn SE when you near the bottom, and head for the middle of the S edge of the map. Congratulations, you made it.
For the Horde, this is the easiest way into the Badlands.
Loch Modan is a 10-20 zone. Coming in from the Vale will force you to cross the Burning Steppes (50-58) and the Searing Gorge (43-50), which is not fun if you are planning to level in the Badlands.
Extra Credit:
If you want to get there faster, strip off your gear at the bank and head for the Wetlands. When you get there, die and rez at the spirit in the middle of the map by the road. From there, head S along the road and into the tunnel. While in the tunnel watch for the location to switch to "Dun Algaz" or "Loch Modan." When this happens, die and rez in Loch Modan. Head S into the Badlands and die again. Rez at the healer and walk to Kargath at the W end.

To get to Badlands just go to the southern tip of the Loch and follow the path south, that's it.
The tunnel so many seem so fond of posting about here leads to Searing Gorge and requires a quest item from Searing Gorge for a key...
So how do you reach Searing Gorge? There's a pass in the Badlands that leads right to it but it can be rough finding it. It's hidden in the Western edge of the Badlands.
If you can make it to and into Blackrock Spire in Burning Steppes you can also get to Searing Gorge through Molten Span, just be aware there are some 50+ mobs so don't go poking too deep into the spire or you may find yourself face down.
To get the key for the dwarven tunnel as a member of the Alliance research the quests in Searing Gorge or talk to the dwarf at the end of the Valley of Kings in Loch Modan.

Don't kill Broken Tooth! There is always a hunter or two running around waiting for it to spawn. Please be kind and give a shout to let everyone know if you spot him. Yesterday after I patrolled for 4 hours I found a warrior beating the !@#$ out of the spawn I waited so long to tame. I whispered the bastard to stop, but it was too late. Please don't kill him! THere's no reason to. He's worth WAY more alive to a hunter then dead to anyone else.

A simple way for the Horde to get here is to walk from Arathi to Wetlands and in the Wetlands there is a tunnel in the southwestern part, that leads to Loch Modan. You might bump into a few mountaineers, but they are only level 30. It's a quick walk to Kargath from there. (Did it as 37 hunter).

As a Horde just follow the suggestion to teleport from Booty Bay to Gnomer then go east through the south gate tunnel into loch modan... at level 38 all the level 30 alliance guards wouldn't aggro within perhaps 10 feet, so i ran through the tunnel, past alliance guards, and not one even aggroed, if you're past level 36 or so don't worry about dying, none of the guards will notice you if you are the least bit stealthy.

This was my paths to the Badlands. Made it as a 35 Horde Mage with barely a skirmish. First, take the airboat from UC to Grom'gol, or take the boat from Rachet to Booty Bay. Follow the road north into Duskwood. The second way is to fly into Stonard, then head east thru Deadwind Pass into Duskwood.
Once in Duskwood Head to far northeast corner. Cut thru the southeast corner of Elwynn and head east into Redridge Mountains.
Head north thru Redridge, being mindful of the alliance at Lakeshire. Follow the road north till you come to a pass leading into the Burning Steppes.
There will be one ? elemental but I was able to outrun it.
Follow the road thru Burning steppes north, then west into Blackrock Mountain.
Inside Blackrock, take the passage to the left, then take the first exit to the left. It is safe all the way thru. This will get you into Searing Gorge.
Follow the road in Searing Gorge to the northeast. Keep looking to the right, or east, and about half way up the map you will come to a pass that leads into the Badlands. This pass does not show up on the Searing Gorge map so you have to look for it.
Follow the pass into the Badlands, turn left at the big tree, and head north to Kargath.
If you want to detour, try to get the Thorium Point flight path in Searing gorge. It in on the north wall about two thirds of the way across from the east.
Good Travels and Happy Hunting!

i just dinged 38 so decided to leave Arathi Highlands and head to Badlands. No problem running through low leveled Alliance Wetlands (20s) and even lower level Loc Modan. A pair of dwarf guards at tunnel entrances that i just ran passed. Follow the lake Loch western edge to the north and you will see the pathway to red lands of Badlands. Run through the pathway and stick to the right side of the valley heading northeast. You will encounter a few 36-39 level cats and wolfs but you can either avoid them or just eliminate them for some nice XP. There are a couple of goblin campsites on your right as you run. Also you will see some earth elementals (get the quest from the second goblin camp). Continue down the same path and you will see a large Horde building just passed the elemental area which is Kargath. Get the flight path! Easy to fly from here to Grom'gol, Booty Bay, or north to Highlands, Undercity. Most of the horde quests are here or back in the Valley of Fangs that you just ran through. Personally I think i will stay in this zone and do the quests and kill mobs till 40. Also home to Uldaman dungeon. The first goblin camp you encountered give you quests for Uldaman. Be sure to pick those up before heading up to the dungeon.

As Horde, looks like you have three choices to get to the Badlands. The first two are best for mid-range, the last one is only really viable for higher level characters.
Via Arathi Highlands
Get yourself to Undercity, then head to Arathi Highlands. Now aim due south through the Wetlands, and continue south through Loch Modan. Watch out for Alliance scum, and you continue your journey south, looking for the tunnel through to the Badlands. This is the easiest of the three, but takes a bit of walking.
Via Gnomeregan
Talk to
Nogg
in the Orgrimmar machine shop, and take his quest, an the one offered by his assistant. If you've already completed these quests, take the
goblin transponder
from your bank an head to Stranglethorn Vale. Use the teleporter to Gnomeregan, and head out to Dun Morogh. Now head east through the tunnel to Loch Modan, murder any dwarves on the way and then continue on to the badlands. This is faster than the first route, but the dungeon is full of mobs.
Via Searing Gorge
The final path leads through mostly neutral, territories but are higher level zones. You'll pass though Burning Steppes and the Searing Gorge which is best left to higher levels

Gyrochronatom
