Fiery weapon can proc on instant abilities (Sinister Strike, Eviscerate, Hamstring, even Sap), and is based on a per minute attack like every other chance to hit in the game. The slower your weapon the higher the proc rate, even on instant abilities.

Fiery is better IMO at lower levels, until you start running in to more and more mobs that tend to resist the fire damage. Than go with either agility or +dmg.

Proc rate is normalized at 6 procs per minute. That's 240 damage per minute, or 4 dps on average. Still one of the better enchants in the game against mobs without fire resistance, especially given the cost.

Also, the proc can crit (to 60 damage) and does full damage on offhand weapons.

If, like me, you didn't know the instance and want this enchant, here is how I did it with my hunter. It takes less than 10-15 minutes per run. Follow this map:

Enter at A, pull the first two mobs and kill them. Send your pet away, and wait until you have a window in the mobs to run straight through to the arena with aspect of the cheetah(6). You should be able to do this without getting aggro (@70). FD if you get aggro and wait till they go away. Call your pet when you enter the arena, do the event and kill the boss. Take the ramp going up, and you reach a platform with many mobs, go directly up another ramp again, it kind of corkscrews, avoiding mobs. You come to the arena spectators, which are neutral, directly opposite to where you enter the spectators is another door. You go there, and under are 3 elite mobs, and 3 non-elite, and a roving fire elemental elite. Kill them all. Go to the right. There, you will find another set of mobs, 3 elite, 3 non. Kill them, and you are right in front of the mob that drops the recipe.

If he doesn't drop it the first time, log out inside the instance next to his corpse. Log back in about 20 minutes later, and when you are at the beginning of the instance again, he has respawned. If you are still where you killed him, he has not. Have fun!

On my twink this enchant seems to proc quite often. I would say for the price I would probly take this over crusade/lifestealing. I only have it on my main hand, duel weilding fiery must be incredibal. And I see alot of higher levels using this. (alot in 49 bgs)

Plus the ornge/yellow glow is awsome.

There is no critical strikes to rogues and warriors.
They haven't some spell crit chance, and "Fiery Weapon" not crits.
Tested on 10.10.07 , at patch 2.2

firey crits can proc talents/abilities also procced by melee crits such as: flurry, shamanistic focus. I don't know about imp LotP yet, but I would assume it does.

I thought this enchant required a weapon of a certain level.

I was in the beginner zone for the humans and this level 1 player was challenging people to duels, when the duel started he switched weapons to sword that was enchanted with firey enchant and would just destroy people... very cheap if you ask me but whatever.

for the price it is probubly the best enchant you can get on your charater.. my main is a lv 49 hunter horde and it is cheap.. any1 who is not lv 70 with some amazing enchant is wasteing their money becuase you are gonna have 2 upgrade soon... so if u want a good cheap enchant for a wepon get this enchant

on my rogue when i use his skills that are bonus damig like 125% of daggers damig this enchat almmost if not always procs for me (i know i am rilly lucky but still) this thing procs about 3/4th the time i attack i never have had 3 hits in a row not proc it.
Edit: i just had it proc with back stab for 180 damig + the wepons hit of 360

For how cheap fiery weapon is, it can make a great enchant for a weapon you know you will replace, so you dont waste a mongoose or executioner, then replace the item in a week. The proc rate is high, so if you need an enchant, but are cheap, look into this.

Enchanter's shouldn't underestimate this for levelling, it's a very cheap and very effective enchant so there's always someone who wants it. More often than not people will provide the materials and also tip, so you level and make money, and can get your enchanting all the way from 265 up to 300. Even if you can't do BRD yourself or with a main to get the recipe, buy it from AH and you'll get the money back easy.

If you can, solo or get help to do SM cath and you get 2 shards every time, in 10 to 15 minutes tops. Sell the enchant with mats for 20 - 30 gold depending on AH prices and you've got the formula investment back in no time.

It may not be the quickest way to level, but it's certainly the most cost effective!

Minor Beastslayer enchant is way over price on my server XD
i all ways take fiery wep its much better and Cooler and it give 40 Fire damage to ur taget
Fiery wep wil come more one a 2H wep then a 1H wep but slmost all 1H wep hit more then a 2H wep
But Crusader is Better and it heals u 75-125 and give 100+Strength for 15 sec and if ur 60+ it only give 60% of what it nomal do (60+Strength)

I'm just wondering, what talents/buffs/debuffs can affect this enchant's damage? On my level 44 shaman it his for 42 instead of 40 (63 on crit). Currently using this spec, both weapons with windfury, only main hand has fiery. It doesn't seem like anything would affect fiery, but I somehow get 2 more damage per proc.

Edit: Weird, it hits for 40 damage now... Oo Would still like to know what can increase this enchant's damage though.

Edit2: Ok I got it now, it hits for 42 only agains beasts... Because I'm a troll with beast slaying. So that's one thing that affects this enchant's damage :P

Since this enchant has no minimum level, you can use this on heirloom weapons. I was able to use this enchant on the Battleworn Thrash Blade. Great for leveling those twink alts!

Edit/Update: Since I wrote this I also found that Crusader does not have a minimum level as well. It is a more expensive enchant, but definitely better if you can afford it.

As I found out today, enchanting the Diamond Tipped Cane didn't do anything- since it already has the sparkling enchant on the tip it just shows the fiery as on the weapon.

Combined with Spellfire Longsword which has a blue glow. With fiery enchant it looks a little like a bomb pop - red at the hilt, white in the middle, and blue at the tip.

I put this enchant on level 1 common weapons before there were any heirlooms. I especially remember levelling my warrior, spamming rend and just burning through large groups of mobs like wildfire. I even tanked low level dungeons spamming rend and doing triple the damage of the dps in group. If you ever want to level a warrior, use this enchant to burn through the lower levels real fast, I bet it would be awesome on an heirloom, if fact Im gonna try it today :)

Just a small note of warning to those farming this enchant.

Taking the domicile portal and heading south will mean you get to the NPC that drops this recipe within 5 minutes. Be CAREFUL though, do not forget that the game has a farming protection system which means that if you enter instances more than 4 or 5 times in an hour you will get a debuff. The debuff basically tells you that 'you have entered too many instances'. This is a wow account wide debuff.

My point is this, if you are due to go raiding or have guild runs planned afterwards, be cautious about how many times you enter or face a possible no entry on your raid if you time it all wrong :)

Good question but easy to answer - Mats. Mats prices seem to vary alot on the servers, but just as an example, on my server, small radiant shards (you need four) are 3-5g and the essence of fire is 10-15g. This is 22-35g only mats price.

This is exactly what makes enchanting suck. You get alot of "LOLL GRREDDY NNOOOBB!111" from people who have no idea what the materials are actually worth. The richest "enchanter" is the one that got as far as to learn disenchanting and stopped.

Disclaimer: This varies from server to server. On a larger server, there are enough "educated" people to actually make a dent in the illiterate mass so there, an enchanter might actually do fine. On a smaller server, with one or two who knows how enchanting works (alternative costs of mats etc), enchanting as a money maker is impossible.

This is the case on my server. I have +15 agi/str, +20 spi, Icy, Fiery and so on. If I ask for a price even only corresponding to mats price, I get laughed at and the regular: "GRREEDY NNOOBBB!111". So from now on I sell all mats on AH. Feels a bit sad when wasting so much time on getting lvl 300/arcanite etc etc, but I make more money this way. A clear indication something is wrong with the economy. In a working economy, the materials + the refinement/service is more worth than just the materials. This is not the case on Frostwhisper (EU).

Oh, sry, back on track then: One thing that also ruins the selling of Fiery on a small server is that everyone selling Demonslay keeps yelling "Fiery glow!11". So saying: "Selling enchant, Fiery weapon - 25g (or w/e)" most often ends in the usual name calling, when "they" could get "that" for 6g ^^.

Having this enchant in the higher levels is pointless. Aside from the occasional crit, this enchant procs for 40 dmg, no matter what level you are. Think about it.. would you want a 40 dmg proc at lvl 60? I thought not. Very awesome for the lower levels ( like lvl 19 WSG :p ), but in the uppers, you're better off with +wep dmg.

I'm a 45 warrior, and using no skills my straight DPS is 54. This is over about 13k damage, and I've tested this a couple times and the numbers come out within a .3% variance at this many swings...

Normal damage: 10538 (86.5%)
Deep Wound: 878 (7.2%)
Fiery Weapon 760 (6.2%)

6.2% of 54d DPS is 3.34 DPS.

This is with a whirlwind axe, 102-154 3.60, 35.6 DPS. If this is procs per minute, not percentage on swings, then this 3.34 should be consistant.

well having read the above post i see that many people are finding the prices rather insane on these radiant shards...

the fact is that all items you get from the bosses in SM can be disenchaten into Small radiant shards... so here's the deal, group up with some guildies and pay a visit to the dear old instance... amoung you there will ba a enchanter who will Need on everything, an d dis it into some nice shards for you...

i do SM with my friend(he being a 51 pally me a 54warrior) all the time... i dis everything and afterwards we share the loot... gives us about 2 shards and alot of other stuff each, nice deal for making money and getting my skill up:)

Bear in mind that if the mob dies from weapon damage and the proc goes off, the combat log does not show the proc. So if you fight lowbie mobs who die in a hit ort two, there is a good chance that any automated log parsing addon will mis-report the percentage.

That being said, I tested this 100 times on Kobolds, and I heard and saw the explosion 28 times. Half of those times, the combat windows showed nothing, because it was the killing blow.

This puts it at 28%, but my sample data is very small, and it could vary +- 3% at least. So 25-30% seems like an accurate estimate.

Fiery, as any other enchant, will not overwrite an existing proc on a weapon, so go ahead and enchant fiery on your Searing Blade.

Combined with Seal of Command, this thing just plain rocks. Yes, it crits. It also doesn't always crit when your weapon crits, so it's a separate crit chance propping it from 40 to 60 dmg.

I have also seen it, not terribly often, but not that rare either, to have Seal of Command go off, crit, and have both strikes from fiery crit as well. This ends up, depending on the weapon you use (me, lvl 44 Paladin, I have the Bonechewer polearm), giving you a ridiculous amount damage in 1 strike (like 750 at lvl 44, enjoy;), teh bodies of teh horde... teh horror)

As mentioned, it ignores armor. It procs a ton. It crits (although I have no idea what the percentage rate is for fiery crits, it doesn't seem to be related to your crit rating). 10% proc rate is absolute rubbish. More like 30-35%. And in some attacks, it has 100%, just depends. I have noticed that high attack power seems to make it proc more (i.e. blessing of might)

I got this one for free as well (save a 2g tip for the enchanter). It was interesting though, because it spawned through that enchanter debate on fiery enchant. Everyone who had anything to say about it seemed to think it sucked. All they are looking at is damage. 40 damage is nothing, I kept reading (before I had a chance to try it out, mind you)in trade chat. What would you rather have... a weapon that does an additional 130dmg 5% of the time, or a weapon that does an additional 40dmg 35% of the time? I know which I'd rather. So everyone who thinks this thing sucks? You haven't used it. Period.

For Paladin's, this thing rocks. It seems to combine with Seal of Command and makes it both easy to farm with, and deadly in PVP. When the fiery procs, it also seems to make seal of command proc, and vice versa. Not all the time, but certainly more often I have noticed.

40 damage is a ton of additional damage to an already damaging strike. Those classes who have multiple strikes available to them (Rogues, Shaman, Paladins, Warriors), this can proc off of each one of those additional strikes. It also ignores armor, and is a RELIABLE enchant. You can always count on it to go off at least 1 time in an attack, more usually 3-4, and occasionally with every strike. Can't say that about most other enchants, and reliability is nice. I know when I get a horde jerk trying to gank me while I farm, this thing will work, and I mean now.

To the lvl 46 rogue that tried to gank me by gadgetstan? Sorry about that. But you started it, and asked for it by name. All you ended up getting was a nice, long walk back to your corpse. Think twice before you try and gank a paladin with a glowy, a?

Yes, Pally's own. 40dmg doesn't seem like a lot, but trust me, that's just the surface of this enchant. It's reliability, disregard of armor, and it's ability to proc off multiple attack strikes makes it one of the better enchants in the game for damage, bar none.

Hope this helps anyone who was looking at what to get. As mentioned, this is one of the cheaper enchants in the game. You want to apply it on a weapon you plan on keeping for at least 5 levels though, so buy or find something very, very nice to put it on. Don't put it on something crappy, cause you'll regret it.

The mats for this are easy to farm if you have a high level farming alt. The fire essences can be found off the fire elementals in Fire Plume Ridge at Un'Goro Crater, and the blues from the bosses in RFD disenchant into the shards.

Let me preface this question by saying that I don't expect the answer to be "yes". I just want to know for sure.

Is there any chance that +fire dmg bonuses work on enchants and procs? I don't believe that they do, but I thought I'd check with the masses first. Most of the people who use this enchant would never have +fire dmg gear, so I've never seen firsthand what would happen. Any thoughts?

Tell me? I am an enchanter and brought the Formula for 50g slightly under average for my server. I am charging 2g + The Mats is that unreasonable considering I paid 50g for formula and probably 300g levelling up to Fiery. And i dont charge for any other enchant with mats if it will level me. I get replies like rip off am I being unreasonable or are there just to many ass holes out there that want everything for free

Had fiery and icy on my weapons for easy dmg while leveling. Unlike some say, Icy Weapon is not PvP-only oriented. +25% increased attack time can save you from a slow&hardhitting; mob.

I had fiery proc up to 5 times on a single mob. Posted one screenshot with 4proc because I forgot to SS the 5p one.
GL, if you don't have money for a crusader/lstealing/15-20agi, put this on while leveling.. 15g is nothing, you'll get this in a few quests.

I'm so sry but I just litterally got this enchant 30 min ago and bought the shards for 11 g total and I didn't know bought ess of fire thing so he gave to me I gave him shards 9 g and he enchanted it on my Sword of Serenity I'm lev 38 looks awesome haven't tried it yet but if it procs like once every three or four OMFG I'm going to get a proc like every second I hit like 4 every second WOOT

Just got this enchantment last night on my slow staff (3.80). The proc rate is really good. Proc almost every 3 hits on average. Back to back proc very often, and one time it proc 5 in a row. The color is orange/red. Materials for this enchant on my server is around 28g from AH.

are you guys messed up or something...i have this enchant. it does glow. it looks like a plasmaish fire. yea frequent proc on like a 2.4 speed weapon. like on average 5 times a battle doing 40 damage per a proc and 60 for a crit. as a poster said it activates sometimes when you dont attack must be a bug or something.

There is a fire enchantment and a fiery weapon enchantment. The fire enchantment is has no visual affects on weapon and is an AOE proc. Fiery weapon is a single target proc and is works well.

When you get your weapon enchanted, if is says "fire" then you have the AOE enchantment (which will break sap).

I have this Enchantment on my Lorespinner Dagger, my Unyeilding 2-H maul, and 2 other swords. Feiry procs like crazy on all of my weps, at least 3 times per battle, no matter if its the fast dagger or the slower maul.

I just saw this enchantment today. It DOES have a glow. It's an Orange/Blue/Red.. it's hard to explain but looks like a sort of rainbow. Very pretty enchantment. You'll know when you see it. But yea, people want 40g for it... so just for looks it's a bit pricey.

Not sure how it deals damage, if it's over a few enemies or just the one. Haven't seen it in action, but definately a pretty sweet lookin' enchantment.

Oh, wait, you were doing melee damage? Did you forget that you're a hunter? If you are on an RP server, like someone else guessed, then you should know that a hunter's role to play is ranged DPS. Hunters, don't waste your money on a fiery enchant (or any other melee proc). You'll always do more DPS from range.

Gosh thanks. Hunters will always do more DPS from range? That's just crazy talk. Next you'll be telling me warriors do more damage in melee. I always like people who think it's important to define a hunter's role. Tell you what I'll do, next time I pull a mob (from range, right? eh?) who brings adds with them (uh-oh), I'll stop swinging my sword and say "Sorry fellas, can you back up a bit? Us hunters always do more DPS from range, kk?" Thanks for the class advice, I think I'll waste my money on whatever I feel like. That would include enchanting my melee weaps with whatever helps put the target down fastest. (plus, glowy=cool)

After doin some 10429 hits with a weapon i had 1528 fire weapon procs. That makes it about 14.5% chanse to proc.

Stick this on glacial blade, and if you're a rogue apply instant poison. I do that, and get various procs like mad, especially when using mutilate :P

when i go to the AH (aszune)the shards were selling for 10g each and 4 together were seeling for 50g
then i go onto the essence of fire and selling 1 for 40g!
now if my mathematics are correct if i got em sepretly it would cost 80g (plus tip)
if i got em together it would be 90g (plus tip)
overall i would be paying 80g + for a low lvl enchantment that only hits 40!

why should i buy this? because it looks cool?

if you're a bear form druid .. why are you looking for enchants for "aesthetic purposes"? and if it's only for looks, why do you want a 40g enchantment?

This enchant is *not* like the quest reward from the Badlands. The Badlands one procs for 10-15 damage to all nearby targets. IN CONTRAST, this enchant procs for 40 fire damage (supposedly 25% proc rate) and has the chance to critical hit. (I've seen crits of 60 damage.)

The glow is a bright, flowing fiery reddish-yellow completely different from the pale red of Beastslaying. I can't compare it to Demonslaying's glow as it's been a long time since I've seen one of those.

On Argent Dawn, the current going price is around 35-40g without the essence of fire and 25-30g with. Kind of odd considering you can purchase the essence on the auction house for 7-10g.

I've got a coldrage dagger with icy on it and I was thinking of getting another coldrage dagger and putting this enchanment on that one but someone was telling me that it would cancle out my icy effect. does it really cancle? and would it cancle coldrages movement effect? it sounds like a great combination to me so I really want to do this but if I end up cancling myself I'll look stupid in pvp or in the BGs.

I get 40 min about every 1-3 swings, depends if I spam skills. I can crit from 60-75 which was my max so far. But sweet.

I was very fortunate to have a friend give me this enchant for free on both of my Hunters Axe's (Steelclaw Reaver) & (Gloom Reaper of the Tiger). The enchant dose not go off a often as I expected it to but when it dose especially when both go off at once the damage and special effects is quite cool. I do attribute it in part to my victory over Mor'ladium a 35 elite in Raven Hill Cemetery out of Duskwood… I was level 34 at the time I did loose my best friend Phantom in the process and almost lost the battle but then it happened, The improbable a double firey burst and a single 400 + crit at the last few determining seconds of the battle as to whom the hard fought sorrowful victory would go. My revenge from many a fearful fleeing and a death or two was complete, the dreaded Mob of Raven Hill Mor’ladium lay dead at my feet.

Sorry - not an enchanter - but I'm interested in enchants for purely aesthetic purposes (I'm a bear-form druid) - so can someone tell me a) is this red/yellow-fiery rather than red-central glow like beast slaying, and b) where does an enchanter get this skill from?

If this is like the reward item in Badlands Quest, it has no glow. When it processes, it does fire damage to multiple melee targets at one shot. This may undo various CC measures.

They both are actually called fiery enchant the difference is the one that is an AoE proc is a quest reward from a quest in the badlands.
黑龙之火 the other is enchanted by an enchanter. As flense said the quest reward one has no visual. Also it is a rather annoying enchant I sent mine to my hunter who was lvl 15 at the time and put it on his sword.

is the ppm the same on your off hand as on your main hand? in other words is an enchant like this still as effective on your off-hand as your main hand

I havent seen it crit yet. when it procs it hits for 40 damage but periodically it will proc 3 or 4 times in one swing.

I assume that's the crit?

So basically it's like this:

i take swing & I hit for 140
proc 40
proc 40
proc 40
proc 40
i take next swing

needless to say it's probbly the best weapon enchant i've ever had in terms of proc. I've never tried crusader so I can't compare that. But in terms of DD proc rate it's insanely high.

I've seen this enchant going as high as 35G on Whisperwind. I got mine for 25G. Now I'm duel wielding fiery enchants. YAY!

I sometimes wonder if it IS better, i mean, even the Deamonslaying echant looks better, Fire is kinda orange when Deamon is all the colors of Fire, I wonder if Blizzard will help change it so Fire looks better, i still think it is good for low lvls but then again, it is for Twinking.

just bought this enchantment for my Ice Barbed Spear. it didn't replace the blue glow. seems to proc very often (compared to Icy Weapon, awful thing.) and adds damage ontop of my normal melee, giving me some very nice crits :)

if you're looking into buying this enchantment i recommend it.

(Sells for 30Gish (enchantment, not receipy) on BladeFist, EU.)

I put fiery on linkens-sword-of-mastery.
It does not change the appearance,
but it still procs fiery.

Thunderfury server:
the fiery enchant goes for about 30 g
and crusader is about the same.

I was willing to sacrifice some performance for looks,
but given the situation...

on my L11 retri pala equiped fully in green,using SoC and SoR regularly it does 17% of total damage (while non stop killing quest mobs).It's similar bonus dmg like Seal of R. and Judgements of R. combined.

I was working on a 2H Reckoning build, testing to try and see what the best weapon enchant would be for maximizing burst damage, and was very surprised by the results.

I would assume that Spell Power would be the better option, but after crunching the numbers it added only 75 damage to my full combo on average. (Using Frost Oil, Improved Seal of Righteousness, and Sanctity Aura from another friendly Paladin. I'd cast Seal of Righteousness, Trinket to reach 534 Spell Power, Consecration, Hammer of Justice, smack with 4 stacks of Reckoning, Judgement, then execute with Hammer of Wrath.)

In contrast, Fiery Weapon has a 41.4% chance to proc on a 3.6 speed weapon, which means that on average, it'll proc 2 times within 5 auto-attacks, or 1 Reckoning Bomb, dealing 80 damage.

It can of course deal less damage if it gets resisted or only procs once/not at all, but it can also deal even more damage if it procs more than twice, and that's not even going over the probability of each proc critting and dealing 60 damage.

This is a really good weapon enchant, even at end game.

At the launch of WotLK classic, fiery weapon currently procs Deep Wounds for warrior, making it the best enchant available in the game despite being an enchant from vanilla.

Hi,

On Hardcore servers, sometimes people use these "white" pieces as "heirloom" gear that can be passed from to another alt.

A friend let me borrow this sword with fiery and lvl5 boots with minor speed enchant. I kept these items until level 14. It saved me a lot of time killing mobs and running though Elwynn forest to Loch Modan...

I will also start doing it for my future alt... I will have my "sword of a thousand truth" at lvl 5 !

Hardcore is the best !
