One of the best pets I have ever had.

When I would farm I would always use a Boar because charge would gain about 1.2k aggro once he hit the target.

Never thought to use an Owl but I thought what the heck I'll try it. I have to say the screech, dive; claw combo really holds the aggro well. as well or better than a boar because an owl does more DPS.

Dive sends the bird in nice n fast like charge. There is no 1 sec stun though so you need to let the bird get to the target then fire. Screech must cause aggro somehow because this crazy bird gains crazy aggro. Mine has about 1.2k at the first contact.

I hate the flapping as much as I hate the pop a gun makes and screech makes ALOT of noise and would prob drive your tank nuts so I would use this pet more for solo and PVP. Driving casters crazy sounds good to me =p

They only eat meat so fishing is out...seems dumb they should eat fish.

So if your looking for a good DPS pet that can hold good aggro you may want to try out and owl.

I just tamed a winterspring owl, and I will upgrade to one of these when I can. OWLS ROCK, but this particular one is rockulicious.

I was skeptical at first, because I had a really decent wolf that I loved... but it only took a few minutes to see that the owl is a fantastic pet. The Winterspring Screecher with its wonderful skills is awesome, and handsome too. Can't wait to get this beauty.

Very common and has Dive, Claw and Screech! This is so awesome pet! And it keeps the aggro very very well too.

I've had Humar The Pride Lord (Black Lion) since level 23 and have loved him. Throughout leveling he held aggro well, did amazing damage, and could last forever with minimal healing. Now that I've hit 60 and have started fighting level 61-62 Outland mobs, I've noticed he hasn't been holding aggro as well.

I had a Level 57 Winterspring Screecher in the stables which I had used to learn Claw (Rank 8), and decided to try him out. AMAZING is all I can say. With Screech and Growl, he holds aggro on mobs 5-6 levels higher, and can decently take hits. I haven't been able to use any talent points yet, but he can only get better once he gets to my level and gets some traning points in him! I am definitely going to make this my PvE Questing, Farming, and Tanking Pet. I will keep my Cat for PvP, where he absolutely owns, and plan on getting a Ravager for Raiding and instances.

I realized that a hyena I've had since level 19 just wasn't holding aggro anymore in the higher levels and was just looking for a pet to replace him until I got a Pridewatcher (because they are pretty:P).

Owls = underrated pet. Good dps without the health problems cats have. Also with both growl and screech he holds aggro incredibly well. He can also take a hit without an issue. A fantastic pet.

Yeah, forget the Pridewatcher, I'm sticking with the owl.

Okay, just wondering if anyone's actually seen one of these that's level 53 or 54. The info says they're 53-60, and I've scouted aaalll of Winterspring and only seen their level range as 57-59.
I'm a level 54 looking to tame one for their Screech(rank4), but I'm having trouble locating one. Input?

i just tamed this in time for the 1.7 patch for hunters. its going to let us use all those wrothles training points we get and never used. cats can cloak, dogs can bark for atk power to party, carrion birds/owls/bats/ screech to lower attk power of enemies. so im going to get 1 of each kind (dog, owl, tiger) so i can have one for different situations. i tamed this owl since its lvl 59 and i dont hvae to lvl it so much. so u know it has 2.0 atk speed.

YMMV, but I came up to tame one of these at level 57 and I had an easier time finding a 57 to tame in the southern portion of the zone than the northern. I did not have to venture too far from the road to find it.
