One of the best pets I have ever had.

When I would farm I would always use a Boar because charge would gain about 1.2k aggro once he hit the target.

Never thought to use an Owl but I thought what the heck I'll try it. I have to say the screech, dive; claw combo really holds the aggro well. as well or better than a boar because an owl does more DPS.

Dive sends the bird in nice n fast like charge. There is no 1 sec stun though so you need to let the bird get to the target then fire. Screech must cause aggro somehow because this crazy bird gains crazy aggro. Mine has about 1.2k at the first contact.

I hate the flapping as much as I hate the pop a gun makes and screech makes ALOT of noise and would prob drive your tank nuts so I would use this pet more for solo and PVP. Driving casters crazy sounds good to me =p

They only eat meat so fishing is out...seems dumb they should eat fish.

So if your looking for a good DPS pet that can hold good aggro you may want to try out and owl.

that is the good thing about felwood these mobs arent agressive which isn't found much in high lvl areas

These are a bit annoying to farm, since they're quite spread out and rather few in numbers. If you're after the eggs, like me, for leveling cooking you should also kill the bears you will run into when hunting the owls. The bears will drop bear flank which you can use later on when leveling cooking, the recipe is bought from Bale at Bloodvenom Post.

And also, quite obviously, a skinner can make some profit from skinning the bears and selling on AH (depending on your realms prices).

A lvl 47 owl does not exsist in the game, 48+ or get the one on tedrisil at lvl 5. i just dinged 48 i cant fu*kin wait to get it, im flying to felwood now, and also geting the 48 boar.

How do you tame this thing? It keeps interrupting the tame with a knockdown. I tried a ice trap but it doesn't hold long enough.

OK I went back and tried again and was successful.

Toughest tame ever!

I set up a ice trap about midway between the owl and me, then hit him with a concussion shot and immediately began taming.

He came at me slow, hit the ice trap, and was held just long enough. By the time the trap wore off, and just as he was winding up to knock me down, the tame finished.

I tamed him for the screech. I plan to tame one of the white Winterspring owls, but the young ones don't have screech.

Are there really Level 44 Ironbeak Owls? All I see are 48 and 49.

I'll start by saying, wow. this owl can keep so much argo off of me it's amazing. We got ambushed when we logged on by a bear and an owl. Being used to my wolf who doesn't hold argo to well i began attacking melee, but then i thought, lets try ranging it. It worked great! this is the first pet ive ever had that's accually got the Bang to keep aergo off me. I had to heal him alittle and use beastail wrath but still we survived. Eats only meat but thats ok because that tends to be easy to come by

Also, beastail wrath ROCKS ont his fellow, he gets freakin huge and his attack speed seemed to get faster along with dealing more damage. I really recomend him to ranging Hunters. Ok here are my pictures.

Unfortunately some do not yet have maps, but these will automatically be added to this post when they're added to the NPC's page.
