These mobs are a goldmine, drops range from 30silver-1.20gold.

I spend 20 min farming there after doing the quests and I got about 12 greens as well.
Either I'm very lucky, or this is the spot you want to be in.

These mobs are in fact a goldmine as stated above. On one particular afternoon I spent 2 hours (using 2 food buffs as my timer) and got 32 greens. They drop lots of valuable grey items as well. Also, obsidium and cinderbloom spawn regularly as you are grinding. If that wasn't enough you can occasionally run into a treasure chest, which gives a nice blue item as well. The flame ascendants that occupy the same area also pay well with gold, greens, greys and volatile fire.

Spent about an hour farming Embersilk Cloth from these guys. Ended up with about 3 stacks of cloth so pretty good place to hang out if not for the cloth than for the 8 greens i picked up and 6 stacks of Cinderbloom so herbilist can have a heyday in this area as well. Also a good place to look for Silkin Treasure Chest, I found 3 chests in 2 days in this area! Good Hunting :D
