High Inquisitor Whitemane is located at the end of the Cathedral wing.

Whitemane will appear once you defeat Scarlet Commander Mograine (https://www.wowhead.com/cata/npc=3976). Mograine is located inside the actual Cathedral building in the Cathedral wing, and should not be engaged until the rest of the mobs inside the Cathedral are killed.

Once you get Whitemane to around 50% health, she'll sleep the entire party, resurrect Mograine, then heal herself. At this point, taking out Whitemane first is advised, since she heals.

If you happen to have a 60 running you through the instance they should back off the DPS once Whitemane appears. It is possible to kill her before she sleeps the party to bring back Mograine. If you kill her before this happens or as it happens it will break the event and prevent looting of Mograine's body. Also the party will remain in combat until you exit the instance.

When killing Whitemane and Morgraine, try to concentrate your attacks on one of them (Whitemane is better choice since she heals). Once you take out one of them, the other is easy to take down

just did SM-Cath with 4 men party- lvl 38 druid and 34, 35, 38 pallies. we wiped once during this boss fight. on the second try we managed to win, but druid died. during both fights we had 2 or 3 respawns on us too (popped during fight).
noticable is, that if you fail to get whitemane to 50% soon enough, she would MC one party member (i think its for 10 or 15 secs) and this effect persists through the scripted phase, so if you get your mate MCed, be sure to CC him or he will hit you while you are asleep.
theyre also both immune to arcane torrent and stun.

I just went after her with an all 40+ 5 person group. We had 4 casters and a shadow priest. When she had about 55% health left, we put all our DoTs on her and attacked with our best spells. She knocked us out and while she was trying to rez the other guy, she died. We looted her, but didn't get the stuff from the man.

Bow of Searing Arrows dropped for me and i sold it for 110 gold, so it does drop every once in a while.

Better not DOT her before she sleeps, they'll persist through the sleep and might kill her, and you don't want that :( .

Btw if you do kill her before she rezzes Mograine, you will get bugged in combat.

They have fixed this bug recently, you can't Dot her while the Event is happening that will kill her. She won't die. It will just slow down and stop at 1%, as a Fire Mage my burns ticked her down (level 70) from 4 % and it went down for about 8 seconds, stopping at 1% with the dot still there.

If your a lvl 60 or higher warlock and you just want to disenchant the boss drops, you can pull High Inquisitor Whitemane through the door with your imp and kill her without aggro'ing anyone else. Its tricky, but I've been doing it for years.

1. Run all the way to the Inquisitor's door keeping your distance from all mobs. (especially Mograne)
2. Target the Inquisitor through the door.
3. Summon your imp; press your *Left* shoulder against the door so that the imp is between you and the door.
4. Now walk forwards and backwards against the door while commanding the imp to attack her.
5. The imp eventually will glitch through the door and fireball her. (After practice this gets much easier and faster)
6. Once the Boss has been attacked, call the imp back and break line of sight to the right of the door.
7. The Inquisitor will run through the door to come get you.
8. Place a "Curse of Doom" on her and then carefully wand or siphon her HP down to *JUST ABOVE* half.
9. Wait for the Curse of Doom to execute and she will die immediately.

***To cure your questions of disbelief; if the other boss is dead before you attack her then yes, she will live with 1hp left.
However if he is alive or not even aggro'd then the Inquisitor's "second chance at life" will not be activated and she will die.
***Caution: If you wand her HP to half or below before the Curse of Doom executes, she will attempt to rez the other boss who isn't dead and this will aggro him, also aggro'ing the entire Cathedral.
***1 last thing, every now and then your curse of doom summons a doom guard, this is bad juju... hope you have a soul stone equipped or can run like the wind.

As Celaeris showed in the link above, the Black Mageweave Vest and Boots are a lot easier to come by.

I've also found that the Regal Mantle (a random low level shoulder piece that can be found on the AH quite frequently) fits the "Dark" outfit much better than the Burial Shawl. It doesn't require a lucky drop from Scholo, just AH luck.

For the 'original' Whitemane set, if you're having trouble finding the Bloodwoven Pads, you can easily use Crimson Silk Shoulders, which are Tailor made. *cough*

This is a level 40 instance, but even soloing it at high level can be tough.
You DO have to clear the entire room...

It appears that her memory lives on. Argent Confessor Paletress at the Argent Tournament looks very much like her. I was surprised when I saw her.

Do not bother trying to stop her casting or interrupt she is immune to it. She puts u to sleep when below 50% so she can rez mograine which will heal her in exchange. Then good luck they she has full hp and mograine has 1/2. I recommend to take her out first then mograine.

Soloed as a 44 Paladin. had a tricky time keeping the room clear as I was getting ready to attack Mograine.. however I found that after she appeared and rezzed mograine.. it was definalty best to kill him first as her damage is negligible.. Killed her both with less that 200 hp left, and no mana at all

Mograine actualyl dropper the Fiery War Axe.. which is not listed as one of his drops. Would have prefered the shield.. however now I know what to expect (2 hours hard slog) I may have another go sometime

While running a friend through SM Cath today on my DK, I pulled the last boss, Mograine, all the mobs to the left and right pulled. Since my DK was only lvl 60, I had my lock friend soulstone me and run, but not before I killed Mograine and Whitemane spawned.

It ended up with me dieing, soulstone rezzing, and him running back to entrance with half the instance following him. I used some healing abilities and eventually killed Whitemane at the entrance. She rezzed Mograine, but he didn't come running. He had actually reset.

So what does this allow? An easy way to farm the Loot that Whitemane drops

Just run back to the entrance, kill Whitemane, then repeat.
Not very big, but quite fun when farming for a clothy!

After you kill Mograine the door will open and she will come out, after getting her health down she stuns the entire party, heals herself, and rezzes Mograine at full health, you then have to fight both, however there is a bug that if you are too strong and kill Whitemane , well, ull have to do the dungeon again

If anyone else is like me and completed all of the quests long ago without thought to keep the red gloves or bracers, Hands of the Sun are a nice substitute (long gloves, no bracers needed). Additionally, Gauntlets of the Sun King might also be an option, but I don't care for the shape of those with this set, and are harder to come by (need a raid).

Been killing her for many years and never saw her speak demonic. But, today I killed her on an alt and she yelled "refir xi azgalada" (in demonic). No clue what it means.. And I don't think I ever saw it in all the kills before.. Something new? Or I just missed it?

Mists of Pandaria beta, not sure how to stop her without an interrupt. At the moment, you can queue up for the dungeon at lv29ish, but that huge mob she summons is impossible to defeat.

Well, there's no specific name for it to my knowledge, looks like black mageweave armor dyed red.

If you wanna try for the look:

-Have a tailor make you Black Mageweave Leggings and Black Mageweave Vest.
-Get a pair of black boots, black belt, black gloves. (again, none come to mind, well, Black Mageweave gloves look nice with it)
-Take off the rest of your visible armor and shirts.
-You can either wear your tabard or not, depending on how the tabard looks really.

*MUST be lvl 36 for the leggings and vest, lvl 38 for the Black Mageweave Gloves.
**ONLY will work on a female character. (This is kinda obvious but I must post it because some idiot will try to do this on a male character.)

Managed to solo Cath with a 57 warrior, with extreme care.

First clear out the cathedral as usual, pulling 3 at a time (always check for the couple of mobs that patrol first though!).

You might have to fight 4 when you do the side rooms, just pull out your shield and wear them down (keeping howl & thunderclap on them at all times helps).

For the final boss encounter - be ready. Charge Moggy, bloodrage & slap him silly with your 2H until he drops. Bandage yourself immediately! Don't gaze admiringly at Whitemane's various characteristics as she appears, bandage right away for that HP boost.

Now get that shield out again and make sure you howl/thunderclap (and stomp if you're a cow!) as often as you can. Mortal Strikes are important to lower their healing abilities. Concentrate on Mograine as once he's down, Whitemane is easier. If you're running low on health (40%-ish) switch to defensive stance, pop a nice big healing pot and just chip away at them.

Job's a good 'un!

It wouldn't hurt to have some scroll buffs before the boss fight, or even a defense potion for that extra edge.

Bottom line: don't go for the swift kill - slowly does it. I imagine when I hit 60 I'll be able to be less subtle, but at the moment it makes a decent epic mount cash-raising run with 10-20g from coins/vendor trash and 5-20g for sharding the drops (and of course any extra for any decent greens/BoE blues picked up on the way).

I'm sure this has happend to many other groups, but I wanted to comment on how lame it is when you kill Mograine first and then die trying to kill Whitemane. Sure you can run back and loot Mograine, but Whitemane stays behind the door like a coward. Come on Blizzard! Use some of your billions to fix this bug.

i have 60 warrior and i farm sm twice a day i can make 20-50g per run depends of course on drops.

all bosses are easy for me to kill thats why all my guildies are wonderin where i get all my golds.

Herod is lvl 37 elite (Armory)

Mograine is lvl 40 elite (Cathedral)

Whitemane is lvl 40 elite (Cathedral)

Arcanist Doan is lvl 35 elite (Library)

Bloodmage Thalnos is lvl 33 elite (Graveyard)

So guys SM is much easier than it was before the latest patch.

the first time i went to the cath i had a 70 mage run me

he told me to stay back and pulled the whole place we wiped cuz he was low on mana and whitemane killed him

we then went agian morgraine was killed agian and i said WHY DIDNT I GET EXPERIENCE

then whitemaine came and put us to sleep

she rezed morgraine and they both fought us this was the first time that lvl 70 needed a heal at a low lvl dungeon lol since i was a ret pally i could only give him a quarter of his life
i think he would have done better on his pally too

I think Inquisitor Whitemane is great. I think im going to create a Human Priest and try and get some armor that looks like hers. People have been commenting that the Cindercloth set looks like her armor the most. If there is something that looks more similar please let me know. Thanks.

I am makign a human warlock to look like her so instead of getting the cinder cloth set im just getting the new boa shoulders thatfor 16s that look just like hers and im going to buy black mage weave legs chest and red gloves so i dont have to level 15 more times and aviod spending 1000g for my latest fantasy. For those tight on money this it watr ild suggest but as for a staff im a hair stuck i dont wanna level to 60 so if theres a cheaper low level 1 (hopefully 40 or lower) please post ild be grateful. I tried solo'ing the the Cathedral today (49 Rogue). Stealth-ran until I reached the double doors, wiped out all of Mograine's followers, and then attempted Mograine.

Round one: Killed Mograine. Vanished. Whitemane rushed out, Mograine reappeared. .

I confirm that you need to kill Mograine and Whitemane in simul-succession in order to get credit for Into the Monastery.

Round two: Attempted to Blind Mograine. Focused on Whitemane. Whitemane near death, some followers respawned and ganged me to death.

Wasn't worth spending the hours over again solo'ing.

I wanted to expand on the earlier post--

If you kill Whitemane before she manages to sleep you and ressurect Mograine, it bugs the fight. You will not get loot, or quest credit. This almost never happend on appropriately levelled groups, but if you're running a lowbie through for quest credit, be careful not to kill her too fast!

I must say of all the cloth armours I have seen around the game, I just adore Whitemane's dress... so where can I get one for my mage?

It is sort of like Black Mageweave, but more stylish. So far I have her Triune Amulet and her Chapeau, I just need her long gloves, boots, shoulders, belt and that sexy torso tunic of hers to complete the look. However looking though the list of her drop items, it appears that they are not there.

So much for farming Whitemane for her outfit. :(

Eh-heh ... I kinda just noticed that Whitemane was a female and then proceeded to kill her. ^_^;;

After Mograine dies the first time, Whitemane will come out of the back chamber, sleep everyone, and rez Mograine. Immediately after that all will wake up and you can resume the fight. Whitemane doesn't put up much of a fight and concentrates only on healing Mograine and herself, so she is an ideal target for any clothie in your group. It took a lot of mana for me to kill her as a 40 mage because Whitemane constantly heals herself. I nuked her until my mana was zero and then used Evoc to get a complete recharge. Then I still needed another 1/2 of my mana to finish her off, so a total of about 6K required. However, I still had plenty left to get a couple more shots on Mograine before the tanks finished him off. Whitemane dropped a Triune Amulet for me.

After you defeat Mograine in the cathedril area of the Scarlet Monastary, Whitemane spawns from the doorway behind the pulpit. She will cast an AOE sleep move and procede to ressurect Mograine to full health and fight alongside him.

It should be noted that she is a healer, and should be taken out first in the battle with her and Mograine. Otherwise, your looking at a pretty long fight.

Make sure you kill all the Scarlet centurions, monks, abbots, etc. in the building before you attack Mograine. Even the ones to the areas left and right of Mogarine. Once attacked, he will yell and any mobs left will come and assist him.

Easy to do if know what you're doing. And Whitemane always seems to attack either the lowest level and/or healer with repeated Smite Attacks.

I was dragging a guildmate through here for the quests with my L60 Paladin. She dropped Gloves of Holy Might for me (see that purple up there? Yeah, that was me.)

My rogue alt had a joy-gasm. Just two more levels till he can wear them.

I toyed with the idea of selling them. But they're just too good. And, that means all three of my toons have at least one purple.

As a side note to Paintedpyro's post, in the lone room on the right side of the chapel (right side, looking in from entrance) there's a hidden room, I believe opened by a candlestick next to it. Should have the gear icon when you move mouse over it. Anyways, inside the extra room is 大检察官法尔班克斯 who always drops 2 or 3 greens. Seems to fight like a priest, complete with AE fear. Have anyone with dispell magic keep an eye open for that one, not likely to bring extra mobs, but it's annoying. He also does an AE sleep, similar to Whitemane. Nothing special when he uses it though, just starts casting Smite on someone, generally.

Just a little extra something, while you're clearing the chapel anyways. Most groups that run through seem to have someone that knows about him, but figured I'd mention him, just in case.

Just had the strangest thing happen today whilst carrying some lowbies through Cathedral with my level 60 mage. Whitemane used an instant-cast Dominate Mind on one of our mages, mind controlling them. I didn't take the picture fast enough, but here's a link to the screenshot I took right after it ended, along with screenshots of my Details! addon showing that it did indeed happen (the mind controlled Mage used Scorch on our Priest) in addition to Dominate Mind showing up under the abilities that enemies used (however that section of Details! is quite buggy and gave errors).

Never once in all my years have I ever seen Whitemane cast Dominate Mind, or any kind of mind control ability. I used to solo this place all the time pre-MoP, and she definitely never used it post-MoP. And despite all the times i've ran Cathedral while leveling and the amount of times i've ran folks through, this was the first time i've seen this happen. I'm baffled!

EDIT: You know what, the ability was likely not an instant cast spell, the ClassicCastBars addon probably just didn't recognize the ability to display a cast bar for it.
