Back in my day, by cracky, this cat used to be ideal for Hunters to learn Prowl 3 for their cats quickly. This is when hunters had to walk in the blizzard 3 miles each way, UPHILL without boots, we were only able to wear cloth sandals because our armor proficiency was only set to Cloth, you see... So I tied an Onion to my belt, which was the style at the time....

was running from message in bottle quest (gorilla, eilte) and was attacked by this mob. Needed to kill him and it dropped this nice wand :)

The 2.3 patch has "dumbed down" a lot of the game. This cat is one example. It is no longer a 50 level cat it is now a 41 level cat. The gorilla for the quest on the island is now a 42 instead of an elite near level 50. The cat shows to have Prowl 3 on his talent bar but I spent an hour trying to learn it from him after taming him to no avail. Everytime that I would fly, boat, or log the ability would be missing from his action bar. I finally gave up and abandon him and the hope of learning Prowl 3 from him. The next level cat is in Winterspring at level 58 so its a long span. I have no idea why they dropped that whole island level down almost 10 levels but it messed up Prowl 3 for me.

Tamed at Jaguero Isle, started killing gorillas and took me about 20 mins or so to learn Prowl 3. Just takes a lil time, patience and confidence.

All you have to do to learn Prowl Rank 3 is tame the Jaguero, turn off the automatic casting for Prowl, and then sit there left-clicking on the Prowl button over and over until you learn it. No attacking of other beasts necessary. I got it in 3 tries doing this.

I tamed it, tried what chimpy suggested but that didnt work (tried about 6 or 8 times), then i just killed some mobs till i got it. Then I took him to stable and put him there and took out my regular cat, but prowl was not an option of training. So i put my regular cat (king bangalash) back in stable and took the jaguaro. Guess what? Prowl disappeared from training menu and menu bar :(

Sigh. No idea what to do. Anybody who can help?

This pet knows skills that are too high for its level! It will lose these skills the first time it zones or when you log out. If you are quick, you can learn these skills from this pet before the pet loses them -- but if the skills are too high for your level then you will also lose them the next time you zone or log out.

Just make sure you're high enough level to have the skills (lvl50 maybe, not 100% sure) and don't zone out/dismiss pet/mount up untill you see you've learned the skills. I just tamed this pet on my lvl70 hunter, used the skills a few times and voila! - my beloved Pridelord is stealthing his way through the world ;)

My level 46 hunter alt learned Cower (Rank 5) as of August 10, 2008, patch 2.4.3. It only took me about two fights, with Cower on auto-repeat. *shrug* So, if there's a level requirement for Cower (Rank 5) off of this mob, it's at least below level 46.

this pet is really neglected just cause it's not an elite. Im 59 and this pet had pulled me through soo much. it's 58 and it's armor is over 5 1/2k and 109-146 dmg. it's pretty decent for tanking, so go for it

If this pet is neglected, that is a real shame because the only other pet that you can learn Prowl rank 3 from is level 59, making this pet extremely valuable to any cat owner. As a matter of fact, I'm going to tame one right now.

THANK GHOD! a cat pet i can tame in a lvls time ^^. i been levelling 45-49 and now want a pet but cba to find one thats lvl 44 and level it to 49. not efficient. as soon as i grabbed some more xp im off to get me one of these beasties =D aint had a cat since lvl .. 20. any1 know the best combo for three stable slots 1=cat 2=X 3=Y

What is this cat's stats? I have King B and have retrained him and got these Stats on him at LvL 46:

Str:104 Agility:75 Stam: 209+37 Int. 27 Spirit: 58 Power:188 + 103 (Melee wep. bonus 20.8dps) Damage:153-184 (spd- 1.67 dps 100.9) spell Bonus: +60 Armor:2813+2211

I retrained him dumping the Dash and adding Prowl rnk 2 Bite Rnk 7 and Claw Rnk 6 as well as Growl Rnk 5.

This seems to be great for this LvL and can't wait to upgrade when he makes LvL 50.

How does this compare to the Jaguero Stalker? Which BTW is LvL 50.

I have a Snow Leopard I have had since level 10... Does anyone know if it can ever learn prowl?

In patch 2.3, they changed these cats to lvl 41, yet they still have rank 3 of prowl. But a cat needs to be lvl 50 to know that skill, so if you log out or hearth to somewhere in Kalimdor or Outland - he loses his skills. Really, Blizzard needs to friggin' think before they do some of these things. I dropped my lvl 44 panther figuring I could just tame a lvl 50 with the same skin and use the same name. Now I can't because it's vitually impossible to lvl a 41 pet when you're lvl 50.

When i've tamed this beast and make it your best friend, do i get the prowl ability in my pet training skills afterwards so i can abandon it and put prowl on my 70 pet?

It's still worth taming (and learning prowl r3) at lvl41 if you're questing in the area. You'll have the skill ready to teach your other cat when you both ding at lvl50 that way.

I tamed one today and it took for ever it seemed like but I finally learned prowl 3 after circling the island about 3 times.

I lost prowl and cower went I mounted like most but I mounted before I could learn them, so I retrained another to get it. Frankly I find Prowl kinda a pain when running and just don't feel like turning it off and on. For cats my choice is Dash, Growl, Bite and Claw, but I like having the options.

I got a Shadowmaw Panther at 37 and by 41 when I got this guy even though the 37 was now lvl 6 and lvl 41, had only 7 training points with a lot of training to do. I look at it as it saved me the money in unlearning the new ones talents. Overall fix losing the skill or put it back to lvl 50, it's bugged.

Using cower seems to have it's purposes to save your pet or aid tanks hold aggro, but I find it easier to just turn off growl and have the extra skill slot.

is this a bug: I tames a this stalker, it has the prowl rank 3 and cower rank 6 or was it 5? and well i killed about 5 things with it WHILE I WAS IN WHERE IT WAS and i did not get any of his skills,i want them 'cuz i dont got them hehe

This cat is no longer lvl 51. It is now lvl 41.

There is also a glitch (or nerf) where once you tame this cat, and then dismiss it, it will lose its abilities to prowl and cower.

I managed to learn cower from it, by sending it after a mob and repeatedly spamming the cower button, but I was unable to learn prowl rank 3 from it.

My advice is that once you tame it, spam the prowl button to learn it, because if it is dismissed or dies, and you resummon it, it will lose both prowl and cower.

I am lvl 50 and I just trained him he is a lvl 41 if he was 51 I could not have trained him.

Jaguero Stalkers are only level 41. I just tamed one as a level 50. They are severly il informed.

When I hit 49 I had decided that I wanted one of these as a pet, but low and behold, they are only lvl 50. Even after killing quite a few in hopes a lower level one would spawn no luck. This site needs to update things like this cuz it's frustrating to consistently get false information, especially from this site 35-45% of the time.

these cats give u prowl rank 3 so does that mean i have to get a cat with prowl rank 1 and then another with rank 2 then this to get all 3 prowls or can i just get this and start out with rank 3 prowll? plz help ahha

His attack speed is 2.0 and he has 60 fire resistance by default. Great for a Beastmaster spec'd hunter because of the attack speed. Also good for marksman due to his higher damage he will hold aggro better.

Wanted to tame one of these at 46. Every single one of them is level 50 ONLY. They are stealthed and have a massive agro range. Your key to survival should you need to run, is that they dont like water. Go swimming and they won't follow you.

I dont suffer from INSANITY, I'm enjoying every moment.

These mobs and the entire island were nerfed into the ground as of 2.3

It's now around the 40-42 range from what I've seen, so hunters have fun.

The first attack from stealth receives a 20%/35%/50% bonus to damage. Lasts until cancelled.
Reduces movement speed by 50%/45%/40%.

Can be learned by: 豹.
